I've been following you for a long time and you just get better and better, my Grandson was here and I asked him to learn Somewhere Over the Raibow with his Guitar he got at Christmas and I told him if he learned it before he had to go home with the lyrics I would give him an extra $50.00 dollars and my 16 yr.old Grandboy did it perfect I am one proud Grandma so his next song is going to be yours about you and your son because my Son just had a baby on Jan.30, 2023 and I sent him your song and he plays it all the time so I'm going to get his Nephew to surprise him and play it for him... Thank you for your music it makes me happy ... 🙂
The Accountant is one (or maybe THE) best movies I've ever seen, and at my age I've seen alot. I have watched The Accountant 8 times, and still enjoy it. Actually it is burned on my heart for some reason. I was mesmerized by the closing song and had to look it up. Mercy! That song by Sean Rowe is now burned on my heart and brain. It is very deep and most times brings a tear to my eye. Reason being, due to poor life decisions, I have nothing to leave behind except some memories my siblings have of me until they die.
I don't often watch all the titles on any film but this song compelled me to do so and find the artist. This is a real gem and I'm sure will become a classic
I have given a lot in my life to help my family. Son, nieces, nephews and more. I am now learning this song and will record it asking to have it played when I am no longer here. This song has a ton of real meaning in it. One line has more content that Taylor Swifts entire collection.
Thank you for this song and especially to your son for the inspiration he provided you. I believe your son helped you put into a melody many of us hadn’t been able to put into words. Peace be with you.
Fantastic song. I, too, was brought here by The Accountant. I hadn't heard of Sean Rowe before, and I now know a great songwriter of your great country. Biagio (from Italy)
Thank you Sean Rowe - I'm a poet and have written poems about my dad passing when I was 10, and about my son who just turned 18, and the lineage of that gesture from the one to the other - and this song, of the many I've heard over my lifetime, is such a beautiful vision for that ongoing complexity - what we hold onto for our children and what we try to be for their lives - I have those tears inside from your search to leave something - don't know if you'll ever read this, but just thank you!
The ceiling is hard to reach and the futures already dead....wow! great line. Its hard to believe how long it takes for people to hear your song, 10 yrs + of hard work and your a overnight sensation! great song Sean. I too was brought here by the Accountant...poof!!!!!!!!jboveranout
The movie was dope. I left with this song in my head. Originally I thought maybe its Jonny Cash. I discovered it was you Sean Rowe. Great song and delivery Sean Rowe you have a new fan.
The Accountant! This song sounds so awesome in the backdrop of the closing scene of the movie. It really hits you deep inside with the visuals and the words
Very few songs hit you this hard this fast. Especially meaningful if you are a parent. This is my "42". GREAT Song and thank you "Accountant" for using this song!!!
I cannot say that I know you well But you can't lie to me with all these books that you sell I'm not trying to follow you to the end of the world I'm just trying to leave something behind Words have come from men and mouse But I can't help thinking that I've heard the wrong crowd When all the water is gone my job will be too And I'm trying to leave something behind Oh money is free but love costs more than our bread And the ceiling is hard to reach Oh the future ahead is broken and red But I'm trying to leave something behind This whole world is a foreign land We swallow the moon but we don't know our own hand We're running with the case but we ain't got the gold Yet we're trying to leave something behind My friends I believe we are at the wrong fight And I cannot read what I did not write I've been to His house, but the master is gone But I'd like to leave something behind There is a beast who has taken my brain You can put me to bed but you can't feel my pain When the machine has taken the soul from the man It's time to leave something behind Oh money is free but love costs more than our bread And the ceiling is hard to reach Oh the future ahead is already dead So I'm trying to leave something behind I got this feeling that I'm still at the shore And pockets don't know what it means to be poor I can get through the wall if you give me a door So I can leave something behind Oh wisdom is lost in the trees somewhere You're not going to find it in some mental gray hair It's locked up from those who hurry ahead And it's time to leave something behind Oh money is free but love costs more than our bread And the ceiling is hard to reach When my son is a man he will know what I meant I was just trying to leave something behind I was just trying to leave something behind.
I heard this on a Ben Affleck movie {The Accountant} at the end when he was driving off into the scene down winding road with his Pick Up Truck and Streamline Trailer I was blown away got me inspired to get back on horse and commit myself to practicing om the guitar I have just let sit around. Call the ones you miss and maybe apart. Better yet, drive to their place and knock on their door. Show them you care and took the 1st steps to mend what ever it was that drove you two apart. My Dad is now gone. We were never that close all my life, but his last two years we spent a lot of time together. On his last day as he lay waiting to die, I stood all day by the side of his bed, holding his hand. Wanted him to know he wasn't alone on this his last day. I miss him everyday.
It takes something very special 4 me 2b found in places like these.this is the second tym the first time was when i heard when the man comes around by Johnny cach frm a movie
Sean Rowe.. Met you once in Portland Maine… This song… speaks to me & others… & I still just have moments of connecting with the lyrics. Just love this song ❤️
I don't usually look up a song that has played in a movie I just watched, but I did this time. Love the song. I too thought the style was similar, but it wasn't Cash, Dylan oe Cohan. It was more "Americana" too me. More like something the late, great Guy Clark would have written. Thanks very much Sean.
It's rare to stumble across a voice as penetrating that instantly puts a lump in your throat. Power lyrics smashed with soulful passions. Sometimes hidden treasures are just waiting for our ears. A True Thank You is least deserving to leave something behind.
I stumbled into this place tonight and WOW found a great singer song writer. 3 chords bared 3rd fret C G and em - amazing! Great Song! I saw a D Major in there too!
Such an incredibly beautiful song. It is so deep and haunting. You said you wrote it about your son? I ask because the first time I heard this song I immediately thought of my son, who took his own life 6 years ago. He was so wonderful and incredible, but mental illness chipped away at him bit by bit until he had nothing left. I hope your son lives a long and happy life.
Thanks to the accountant for bringing Sean Rowe to my attention he's amazing.
Yeah! Me too!. I have never heard of Sean Rowe until I watched the movie and started searching for the song. I am his fan now.

Fantastic song. I, too, was brought here by The Accountant. I hadn't heard of Sean Rowe before, and I now know a great songwriter of your great country. Biagio (from Italy)

Wow! The Accountant brought me here. What a soul tugging song!
Thank you Sean Rowe - I'm a poet and have written poems about my dad passing when I was 10, and about my son who just turned 18, and the lineage of that gesture from the one to the other - and this song, of the many I've heard over my lifetime, is such a beautiful vision for that ongoing complexity - what we hold onto for our children and what we try to be for their lives - I have those tears inside from your search to leave something - don't know if you'll ever read this, but just thank you!
haven't spoken to my son for over 3 years. it's been killing me slowly. this song means alot to me. cry every time I hear it. love you son
Dave Perez tell him!!! Trust me, I never grew up without a dad. Woulda given anything to here "I love you" just once!!!
rich leggatt thank you my friend.
Dave call him or your guilt will eat you both. Pick up that phone and call him and call him again and again. You will not regret it.
Hope you called your son Dave!
you don't need to cry,, just call him or even leave a message on his answer machine and tell him that you love him.
Almost 10 years before the first time I heard it and it's still brilliant 👌
what a fitting song the the profound ending of the Accountant...
...actually shed tears...
This is the fade-to-black song for The Accountant, Worth hearing,
A lot of Dylan in this
just heard it in " The Accountant"----great song!!!!----great movie!!!
Movie was very satisfying to me, in spite of some revues that it "lost its way" towards the end. I think it all tied together very well.
bob loblaw - Take your pills bro.. Seem a bit too emotionally invested in this movie, Bob Dylan, and Ben Affleck. You are scaring the children.
Ooh, did I upset you little man?
you guys should hold hands.
The ceiling is hard to reach and the futures already dead....wow! great line. Its hard to believe how long it takes for people to hear your song, 10 yrs + of hard work and your a overnight sensation! great song Sean. I too was brought here by the Accountant...poof!!!!!!!!jboveranout

first thing I thought was johnny cash too
Weird, I didn't hear Johnny Cash at all.
I thought of tom waits when i first heard this but...
This guy sounds NOTHING like cash, are you kiddin? Nothing.
Lynne thom You're an idiot who has a bad ear
This fellow is REAL beyond words. Thank you.
You’re a great father Sean and you’ve left your son a great inheritance with these beautiful words that have touched my soul…may God bless you
the movie left me with a tear and the tune was perfect, also new to sean rowe... but not for long!

Very good 😊
10/3/24 listening to this song again.
Because I’m trying to leave something behind.
I cannot say that I know you well
But you can't lie to me with all these books that you sell
I'm not trying to follow you to the end of the world
I'm just trying to leave something behind
Words have come from men and mouse
But I can't help thinking that I've heard the wrong crowd
When all the water is gone my job will be too
And I'm trying to leave something behind
Oh money is free but love costs more than our bread
And the ceiling is hard to reach
Oh the future ahead is broken and red
But I'm trying to leave something behind
This whole world is a foreign land
We swallow the moon but we don't know our own hand
We're running with the case but we ain't got the gold
Yet we're trying to leave something behind
My friends I believe we are at the wrong fight
And I cannot read what I did not write
I've been to His house, but the master is gone
But I'd like to leave something behind
There is a beast who has taken my brain
You can put me to bed but you can't feel my pain
When the machine has taken the soul from the man
It's time to leave something behind
Oh money is free but love costs more than our bread
And the ceiling is hard to reach
Oh the future ahead is already dead
So I'm trying to leave something behind
I got this feeling that I'm still at the shore
And pockets don't know what it means to be poor
I can get through the wall if you give me a door
So I can leave something behind
Oh wisdom is lost in the trees somewhere
You're not going to find it in some mental gray hair
It's locked up from those who hurry ahead
And it's time to leave something behind
Oh money is free but love costs more than our bread
And the ceiling is hard to reach
When my son is a man he will know what I meant
I was just trying to leave something behind
I was just trying to leave something behind.
Me too. Powerful song ...
I heard this on a Ben Affleck movie {The Accountant} at the end when he was driving off into the scene down winding road with his Pick Up Truck and Streamline Trailer I was blown away got me inspired to get back on horse and commit myself to practicing om the guitar I have just let sit around. I've only recently seen Sean Rowe on TH-cam, love his music. Wish I'd have seen him years ago. From Birmingham, England 👌🎵🎶
Simply awesome
Wow He puts it all into that song. Had to look it up after watching the Accountant and hearing his music in that.
Yes me too. Came across this at end of Accountant and felt compelled to listen again. Great lyrics, voice and sentiment.
This music speaks to me. Thanks, man.
Well like many brought here by the Accountant just much later. Why have I not heard of this guy before the writing on this song is amazing...
I was a young man when Robert Zimmerman came down out of Minnesota. Sean Rowe has the same vibe, to me.
Zim never showed this depth.
It's rare to stumble across a voice as penetrating that instantly puts a lump in your throat. Power lyrics smashed with soulful passions. Sometimes hidden treasures are just waiting for our ears. A True Thank You is least deserving to leave something behind.
Thank you Sean
Nasty letter by Otis Taylor and this are great examples of songs that bring something extra to movies that are already done well.

Why is this not a number one hit? 😢 absolutely love this. Pulls at my heart strings. So bloody talented ☺️
