I’m not sure if this is an attack on ruby but it all boils down to perspective - whether you think she came to talk about what she loves or brags about it. Obviously, it was the former because you can hear it from her tone and the actual content [e.g expounding on certain books that caught her attention]. Moreover, Ruby’s channel is all about motivation and her study (which is english lit) so -as a person who’s watched her videos for two years - she has no ill intentions; reading 100+ books is kind of normal for her and she’s been posting this kind of content annually.

This is such a great list! I love how many different sorts of books you read, and I think it's really admirable that you're not above reading/rereading "children's books" sometimes (in quotations because in Neil Gaiman's opinion, there is no such thing haha). The one thing I resent about this video (not really) is that I cleaned up my TBR list at the beginning of the year and now it's quite long again.

Hello all, my name's Jaya and I am an avid bookworm so I just thought I'd come in and say this.
I'm scrolling through these comments and I'm seeing a lot of people bring themselves down because they read [include number of books]. It doesn't matter if it was a 'big' number or a 'small' number, they always felt like it wasn't enough.
Can I say, that as a book lover and someone who's reading style has changed dramatically over the past year, every book that you read is good (maybe not enjoyment wise). But don't ever get down on yourself for not reading 'enough' books.
Reading is meant to be fun and when you take the fun out of it, it just turns into a job. So in 2021 I challenge you to just read a book, and not worry about checking a certain box, because reading should be for you, and you alone!

In 2019 I read 60 books while in 2020 I read only 10 but I'm not complaining because it all depends on my mood. It's not good to push yourself to read more just for the number like some people in the comments are thinking. It's alm about the fun and the valuable lessons you learn.

    Marconi Union - Weightless
    Airstream - Electra
DJ Shah - Mellomaniac (Chill Out Mix)
    Enya - Watermark
    Coldplay - Strawberry Swing
    Barcelona - Please Don’t Go
    All Saints - Pure Shores
    Adele - Someone Like You
    Mozart - Canzonetta Sull’aria
Café Del Mar - We Can Fly
Among these, weightless by Marconi union is the best. Hope it helps🙈.

I hate to bust your bubble about David Sedaris, but I have a few negative things to say about him, mostly that I’m not too sure that’s who you want to be taking creative writing advice from. Okay, now I know that we need to separate the writer’s work from his personality (like how we all love Roald Dahl’s novels and then end up being shocked when we find out that he was more antisemitic than Hitler) but, as far as I can tell, David Sedaris is kind of a jerk. Back in 2008, I was at my friend’s PHD graduation ceremony at Binghamton University, and David Sedaris was the guest speaker. For some strange reason, he decided to devote part of his speech to getting stoned on drugs. (And his tone was really positive about it. And the saddest part was that some of the graduates cheered, which just goes to show that a person can get a PHD and still be an idiot.) Then check out this tone-deaf oral essay Sedaris did on CBS about how no one was nice enough to wrap up the tea cups he bought...this aired as 2,000 Americans a day were dying from covid. th-cam.com/video/UMsxfLHZD50/w-d-xo.html. Yikes. As far as his writing goes, I’m not all that familiar with his most recent work-a friend bought me Talk Pretty to Me as a present and I gave up at around page 30, but let’s use the I’m-an-elf-in-a-department-store story he wrote as an example. I would use that story as an example of what NOT to do in your writing-having the narrator criticize everyone around him (unless you are using that to illustrate that your narrator is troubled-Holden in Catcher), especially when the narrator is at a point in his life that he needs to work as an elf in a department store to make money. Who is he to be critical? The Gene Shepherd stories in In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash, and Wanda Hickey’s Night of Golden Memories are much better examples of what you should do as a writer-by the end of the story the narrator realizes that he’s the schmuck of the story. The only person being made fun of is the narrator. The only Sedaris stories I think are really good are the one where he visits the Ann Frank Museum, fantasizes about how nice it would be to have that apartment, then realizes what a terrible person he is for thinking that, along with the story where he considers having a bag of urine strapped to his leg. I’d recommend learning creative writing from someone else (I think Salman Rushdie has one of those master classes) or read the novel Wonder Boys and then watch the movie. There is good advice there. I’m big on the narrator/main character having some self-reflection. If I have not sold more books than David Sedaris by 2025, I’ll take all this all back.

I highly recommend the other collections, including Love Poems, Garden Poems and Poems of the Sea. Second, I also read Station Eleven right before the pandemic and freaked out when it was happening! It's one of my favorite books. Lastly, thanks for the rec about Emily Dickinson's home. She's my favorite poet and I live very close to her house! I'll be following you on Goodreads then, Ruby. Sorry for the long comment.
