Me too! I get interrupted in quarantine while writing essays for uni
My mum always interrupts me while studying or reading and it always happens when I’m like 15 minutes in😂
I always want to do this but when I finish a book I can’t start a new one in the same day since the story of the first one will remain in my head for too long so I can’t concentrate on a different setting within the story
I get sad because the book I was reading has ended. So I start reading another book to ignore that sadness.

The endings are always really emotional. Since I'm very sensitive I need some time to process this emotions. So I feel with you.
I read like a book a year so I don't know if this like works but if you read 1 book in the same place so when you finish the book then you find a new spot to sit at. Idk if this would work or help like I pointed out I am a very slow reader but I have just found a new book! Happy reading everyone!!!

I don’t like reading too many books in a day.It hurts my eyes,books are expensive if you buy them,and I feel like I need to ‘digest’ what I just read after finishing a book.This takes around 2-3 days.

@@Sunflower-bo2mc there are also some online second hand book shops, maybe they deliver to your country. Check it out. :)
Since I know them I buy all of my books there. And the city library is always a good option. Also in times like That it’s possible in my city to order them online.

I ran out of motivation to read for yeaaars (since I left high school until last year when I was 19). I read constantly before then, and had been doing since I was a child. So far this year I've managed to read 4 books, not a lot by all means but an achievement for me. I aim to read so many more during the rest of the year!
TashaHill that’s a great achievement! Four books is a great number. I know I used to read like 20 books a year and now I read 100-200 a year and honestly reading less is far more enjoyable, you actually remember every book I can’t even remember what I read last month.
I'm in the same boat! It's really nice to feel that passion coming back again!

You can do it if you love both reading and the book!
Honestly just take your time and receive at your own pace. It's better method a than what shes doing if you really want to understand everything the book has to offer
As an English learner who comes from a place where no one speaks English, I take my time when reading. I mean, I reaaaally take my time. There’s so many words I don’t understand 🥺

The amount of books you are able to read also depends on the amount of pages though. So don't worry if you can "only" read two books. At the end of the day reading is not a competition and more a relaxing way of spending your time :)

This is amazing ruby! I’m a med student and I don’t have much time to read books (or maybe it’s hard to prioritize reading books) but the more you read, you know how important it is to read. It just makes you wiser but at the same time, reading brings lots of imagination. Love you read-a-thon. Makes me want to read again🤎

Hey, How does it feel like being a med student in Korea ? In fact, Korea is setting a gold standard in managing this crisis and progression is so impressive. How did you guys create such collaborative culture. I saw even children donate with their piggy banks. We definitely should admire not only your culture but your warm hearts.

To me this would just defy the purpose of reading. I like the fact that it takes time, and that i can be caught up in a story for days.

I'm dyslexic too and this has always been a problem to me, but I continued reading like crazy and forcing myself to be better each time I tryied to read more. Today I study Literature in the best uni at my country and I'm almost graduating. So don't give up sis, things get better :)

Oh my! When you mentioned Death in Venice my heart stopped for like a second because I got so excited. Death in Venice is my favourite book ever & I love what you said about it - your words are so so true! Because of the topic it’s dealing with it’s often judged upon even though the writing and narration of the story is so so good. I’m German so I read it in its original language and I totally agree & understand that the writing style and language need some time getting used to (it’s the same when you read it in German) but after that it really is just lovely. I’ve actually read it about 30 times now since I first read it in spring 2019. Yes I really do love it. By the way your copy looks so beautiful and I’m motivated to read it in English now as well. I’m always sooo happy when people read the books I love. Thank you for this beautiful video it really made my day!

Actually, Thomas Mann and his family are very...let's say interesting. They're the most famous German family when it comes to literature. Thomas Mann for an instance was attracted to young boys, which is very obvious in "death in venice" and due to that he had a very difficult relationship to his sons because he felt so disgusted of his attraction to his own sons. Because of that, the boys really suffered mentally throughout their lives. There were a lot of other "scandals" in the family (for example the oldest son had a sexual relationship with his sister) so if you'd be interested in that you could look into it.

I wouldnt say that he is the most famous German author... Also, you should be careful calling him a pedophile just because he wrote a novella about an older man's attraction to a teenager. Stating rumours about the family as truths is disrespecful as well. There is no proof that two of his children had an incestuous relationship. He was pretty open about is homosexuality in his later years, but again, no proof that he felt sexually attracted to his own children. I dont know what your sources are but I doubt that they are reputable.
@@sahralenny I don't know if he was a paedophile, as in being attracted to actual small children, but as far as i know he was attracted to boys in their teenage years. He wrote about that in his journals. And I didn't mean to say that he was the most famous author, I'm sorry I didn't make that clear enough. What I wanted to say was that there were a lot of rather famous authors in his family (thomas' father, his son,...),making the family as a whole very famous.

I hope you are keeping a book journal of the books you've read. I have a hard cover journal and I write one line for each: Date, Title, author, fiction or non fiction, my 0-5 rating, and what # book that is for the year. If it's audio I'll note that and who narrated. I've had my journal since 1999 - probably a long time before you were even born :) - My only regret is not starting the journal when I was your age. I now also use GoodReads. Some prefer a spreadsheet. I prefer both online and absolutely a hardcover journal. It's interesting to see what topics I was into at the time and also how my reading tastes have also changed over time. Even though I am much older than you, I love your channel. You are an inspiration.
I love martian chronicles! I remember it being the first book I had to read for school that I actually liked, and it’s what got me into reading “classics”
