Hey guys .....we made it through. We got rocked hard in Kenner, flooding throughout the night, no power, and crazy winds. I stayed in touch with Naz through the whole eye wall passing through. I hope we can do a post storm breakdown, because the eye seemed to actually reintensify over Kenner. We finished with 10" of rain and 80+ mph winds. Still no power, and it was a hell of a ride. I rode out Katrina and if that was a 10, this was about a 7 or 8. Thanks for thoughts and hoping my fellow New Orleanians and metro area peeps are safe as well.
Great to hear you guys are faring ok. Was concerned when you sent me the videos of the flooding coming up to your driveway. Lord willing that is the end for your area this season
@@WxCenterNazario I can't thank you enough Naz for all the constant communication we had leading up too, and during the actual eye wall nailing us. You were a calm voice of reason when we needed it, I sit here tonight with the generator buzzing, the window unit going, but feel blessed that we got through without any crazy damage. Again I can't thank you enough for the lives you broadcasted to all of us, and the way you stayed in touch with a complete stranger that experienced a crazy event. You're the best bro !
@@neworleansmike 18z GFS be wilin out as usual. For real though this CAG feature or whatever is has me a little worried here in Tampa. I need Naz to dive into it.
Hi Naz! long time lurker. Congrats on your new opportunity. I know it is WAY to early but, what are you thinking for 1st week of October? Travelling from GA to TX. Thanks for all you do for the weather nerd community!
Funny you should ask, and apologies for the delayed reply. I am watching an area in the west Caribbean that may try to do something as we get into late September and early October. Nothing for certain, but a fairly healthy signal across multiple models. So simply watching for now. Will start rolling out thorough discussions on the matter once we get a smidge closer :)
Naz, I keep seeing the GFS sniffing something at the tail end of the run in the western carribean. Is this a CAG set up. I know you have seen it. The last like 5 + runs have showed something around the formation area of Idalia. I just get this feeling that the west coast of Florida isn’t done… I get puckered up any time I see something between Cuba and the Yucatán
Yep, despite my latency on here specifically I’m watching that very closely. Run to run consistency with most of our models has actually been fairly decent for that area. So it really has my attention. May try to do a discussion on it tomorrow if not Saturday the latest
On the GFS and Euro models I seen this morning that they want a system to come out of the western Caribbean and hit SWFL/SEFL as a 930 milibar cane......that's one of the reasons I'm using 22 and 16 as analog seasons, I just have a feeling about a late September early October hit
Is it still showing this? That's interesting. Naz is away on military training but hopefully can ahed light on this soon. I had a feeling end of September would be S. Florida time.
@tylermack954 Me too, I kept telling everyone on here this, now Nazario finna claim what I'm saying, I had started making 2016 and 22 hurricane seasons as analogs for this because of inactivity and bust systems meaning systems that underperforming
@@JaySosPWA94 well not a bust for people islands hit by Beryl Cat 5. People thought 2022 was bust then end of September Ian hit so we will see could have another major hurricane before season ends
Hey Naz i hope you’re doing well, and i’ve been watching that potential tropical cyclone 8 almost tropical storm Helene is on the game bored and that is headed towards the carolina’s and i live in raleigh, wake forest north carolina so i’m just wondering how it’s looking there and what type of imapcts and conditions i’m gonna have there.
Thanks! Hope all is well with you also Should experience low end tropical storm impacts at best this will be a pretty ragged storm nothing incredibly significant. The trademark localized heavy rain, low surge, isolated tornadic activity. Not expecting PTC 8 to become anything catastrophic
I’m hoping our eastward jogs are finished so we can get a better feel of impacts going forward. Storm is still rather sloppy, so perhaps strengthening will be more gradual throughout today
I’m watching a particular feature in the west Caribbean. Little far out from now, so nothing incredibly confident. But it’s an area with a decent signal that has my attention
I am hearing about a storm in the Gulf of Mexico
It's very likely we'll see a depression and our next named storm in the next couple days

Francine is here!!!.
Hey friend!
Hey there hey there
Anyone know how Mike in NOLA is doing?
I posted above, thanks for asking about us.
Thankfully they’re doing ok all things considered. Appreciate you checking in!
Is this the same system we were tracking for a couple weeks or so?
Yes and no
Received a bit of a boost from our stationary boundary and leftover previous area of interest that was situated off the Texas coastline
Naz what happened to no later than Saturday? We miss you here. I hope to see you tonight or so
Been getting ready for military travels come tomorrow. Apologies for the delay
Enjoy your travels! Hopefully we will see you before October, if not see you then
I'm screwed.
Not screwed, we will get through this
How bad of an impact will it be? Because napoleonville Louisiana is right in the line where Francine will make land.
