I always joked that g1 Brawn had an "Achilles heel" situation but with his shoulder, because of that one time Soundwave literally landed on his shoulder in alt mode lol. Funny enough, Brawn and Soundwave's encounters in the g1 show was certainly unexpected but I love every second of it. I enjoyed his energetic personality and tough demeanor. Combine that with his strength, and minibot status he's a favorite of mine.
The Achilles of the Transformers universe. Only a lucky shot to the chest was able to take him out. TFWiki actually kept score for every time he interacted with Soundwave since they fought quite a bit.
Brawn was basically able to take any amount of damage, and still survive. Now, directors of the 86 movie, HOW THE HELL DID HE NOT SURVIVE A SIMPLE BLAST TO THE SHOULDER (this was written before watching the video)
It's why i maintain that that scene, along with Prime's mortal wounding and Magnus' temporary death, were all badly written scenes. They DO accomplish their purpose, but thinking about it, there were FAR better ways to go from point A to point B - don't make the shuttle battle so hilariously one-sided. At least have the four Autobots take down some of the other cons also meant to be phased out. - So many ways Prime and Hot Rod not be stupid in that scene. - Magnus not dying avoids cheapening the previous deaths if he could just simply be repaired. Alternatively, have the armor be temporarily destroyed, revealing the white core robot.
Brawn was the first Tranformer I got and has been a favorite since then. That new studio series figure makes me smile whenever I see him up there on my shelf.
You’re the best at this bro! We always joked that Brawn and others (Cliffjumper, Rumble, Gears, etc) were like the short, over buffed guys that walked around with their arms away from their bodies because the arms/lats were so buffed 😂. You can’t lift them, punches won’t hurt them and you better not freaking grab them lol. It’s like dealing with a cannon/bowling ball!
NGL everytime if Brawn was Human i always imagined him as a muscular midget with a comb mustasche. I was excited to see him in BB even if it was a literal second of him getting shot in the shoulder or even in the comic of the film adaptation

The curse of the mini-bot origin, your vehicle and transformation scheme would have you head and shoulders above most of the autobots that aren't trucks, but you are forever depicted and sold as 'small but tough'
Brawn is most memorable for his fighting spirit, even being able to take on Megaton with his own fusion cannon. He's a character with a lot of gumption, just don't call him a robot chicken. 😊
As for Huffer being mentioned in the mausoleum scene with prowl and ratchet and ironhide was probably because Huffer was put to rest in that area not brawn 🤔 so that’s why he was not mentioned by Daniel
Brawn is my dad’s favorite character since he grew up with the G1 show in the 80’s, and I won’t deny that Brawn is definitely one of my favorite Autobot characters that deserves more love in the franchise. It’s a shame he wasn’t in the War For Cybertron Netflix series, but it was pretty cool to see him in the big screen when watching the Bumblebee movie!

People are saying brawn got shot in the shoulder and should have survived that well I disagree with this because it clearly showed a hole through the upper area of his chest and it blew a bigger hole through him and out his back basically blasting his insides out and the fact Megatron in gun mode has insane firepower and the Autobots were weak from low energy and clearly outnumbered and outgunned in the shuffle they knew they were going to die but tried to stop the Decepticons as they should have and died trying
This. The entire scene is set up for the audience in advance. We're told they're low on Energon and on a supply run to Earth. Decepticons were fully powered and prepared.
Brawn was an awesome character. I'm happy to see him on live action. Hopefully he should return on the ROTB sequel. Awesome Retrospective job on the toughest minibot!👍👍👍😁😁😁😁
Brawn is one of my Favorite Autobots alongside Ironhide since they're both Brawlers and I hope that we'll see him use Energon Gauntlets as his main Weapon.
RIP to Kirk Bailey i always thought of Brawn as a brute and many may not agree with me, but we need more Transformers characters to be more brute like.. tough, can take damage and fight amazingly. if Brawn returns in the future for let's say... the live action movies, I'd love to hear Corey Burton reprise his role and show us Brawn being the tough guy he is. also, happy holidays to everyone!!
I can highly, highly recommend the Marvel UK 'Enemy Within' story mentioned at 2.35 - not least because it's Simon Furman's first Transformers story ever, and he certainly hit the ground running, yes...? (Also, as a hopefully interesting side-note, Brawn was one of the wounded Autobots that Galvatron was briefly interested in reviving as his mind-controlled minion in a later Marvel UK story, 'Perchance to Dream', but he decided against it as Brawn wasn't psychologically suitable for whatever reason...)
I'm sorry that your son was upset with Brawn's death in the '86 movie. I really like him too-one of my favourite comic books from the early TF UK run is the Enemy Within story that spotlights Brawn. I especially like how he and all the other TF were drawn toy-accurate back then!
While Rodimus Prime is my favorite Transformers of all time, Brawn was the very firs Transformer figure I ever get, it was a gift from my uncle at age 4, I always considered Brawn as the mentor and trainer of all the Autobots, every time I played with my Autobots, Brawn was there to trained them for their battles, and of course Rodimus was one of his most important pupils, so yeah I was very shocked when he was killed my Megatron and Starascream, so every time I watched the final duel between Rodimus Prime and Galvatron, I always said loud in my head, BRAWN, THIS ONE IS FOR YOU
About a week ago a bought a double pack of Studio Series Brawn and Ratchet (as they appear in the Bumblebee movie) for $25. He really needs a bigger spotlight. Maybe there should be a story with Brawn and Bulkhead together. I could imagine them having a rivalry of strength like the rivalry between the Hulk and Ben Grimm.
In the 1st Fall of Cybertron mission, there's an Autobot with a yellow and green colour scheme that I couldn't help but think that was either Brawn (even though he didn't have the righ head) or maybe a reference to him, since he does hold open a jammed door before being sucked out into space.
Love these videos. Was a fan when Dreamwave released their More Than Meets the Eye profile trades. I was wondering if you would consider doing videos about different Transformers relationships. I was always fascinated by some of the dynamic relationships between different characters: Mirage and Cliffjumper, Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, Starscream and Jetfire, Hot Rod and Arcee, etc.
Finally! The Brawn HAS COME BACK! to RodimusPrimal. Thank you for making this video, it’s like an early Christmas present to me. Brawn has been my favorite since day 1. Left you a Like, watched while having morning coffee.☕️👍😁Also, I have X-Brawn standing on my kitchen cabinet next to a Playskool Batman and a NECA Michelangelo. lol 😅✌️And he’s, Brawn totally deserves another attempt to be in the spotlight. But, my idea would be a trip back in time, and see what Brawn (and the rest of the Transformers) would be like in the 1950’s. Thanks again for this video. I learned a lot about my favorite Transformer. Have a Merry Christmas. 🎄
Outstanding review RodimusPrimal!!! Brawn has always been one of my favorites of the Minibots, and his SS86 figure is one of my favorite figures of 2023. :D Keep on being amazing.
Here's something I think about a lot but don't ever see anyone talk about. The implications of if Brawn or any of the other Autobots on the shuttle survived the damage from the Decepticon assault. Everyone talks about whether or not it's Hot Rod's fault that Optimus died but no one ever mentions the possible wounded Autobots on board the shuttle Hot Rod shot down when he saw the Decepticons aboard.
So he should have not shot at the shuttle? Let it land uncontested inside the defensive perimeter? You saw how long it took him to get back to the city. It would have been all over before he got there. If only they had reliable communicators. His attack on the shuttle was rash, but the correct one for the situation.
Brawn does deserve a another chance, I am very suprise to see Brawn still alive when all Autobots have to leave Cybertron when Optimus need Bee's help. I guess Megatron work out his gun mode, canon and his Power to make Brawn stay dead when he used his canon against him. The macho bot needs to come back, he isn't a robot chinken he always ready thanks for this cool video of this tough guy bot.
Had the original when I was a kid. My favourite one, alongside my Cosmos original. Was gutted when he was broken beyond repair. I’ve still got Cosmos tho
I like how Brawn kind of looked a lot like Juggernaut from X-Men Coincidentally. However, X-Brawn on the other hand used to make me think of certain Grasstype Pokémon or even Flygon, because of his Green and Red Colors when in Robot Mode. It might also be the fact that he was also an Off-Road capable vehicle, which is great for the Forest obviously!
Carnage in C Minor is notorious for the number of mistakes. I think it's defenitely intended to be Brawn in the episode, because Outback looks like he was animated to be closer to the toy version than Brawn ever was, especially the legs; I'm guessing that the Korean animators hadn't seen the movie, nor were clued into who was being killed off.
I wish there was a way to bring him back. I was shocked how one blast finished him off, but the exit wounds look even worse 🤕⚠️ Ironhide and Ratchet were dealt multiple shots from Megatron gun mode… That’s just the way it was, eventhough Ironhide and Brawn were the most durable Autobots on that shuttle. 🤖🛡️
I personally headcanon Brawn survived Megatron's shot and then the ship crashed into the moderately large body of water around Autobot City, which let him survive
My favorite Autobot. Yeah, he went out like a punk in the movie, but I dare you find anyone who equaled all he did to Soundwave, Starscream and Megatron.
Mad respect, ran into the deceptions even though everyone were still in their chairs.
He died before he even did anything, but he tried!
The tough strong Brawn deserves another spotlight to his G1 and Animated style.
I always joked that g1 Brawn had an "Achilles heel" situation but with his shoulder, because of that one time Soundwave literally landed on his shoulder in alt mode lol.

Brawn could learn a thing or two from Rhinox about being both brains and brawn
Brawn was basically able to take any amount of damage, and still survive. Now, directors of the 86 movie, HOW THE HELL DID HE NOT SURVIVE A SIMPLE BLAST TO THE SHOULDER (this was written before watching the video)
Ironhide was also supposed to be immune to Megatron's cannon
I always thought he did survive the shoulder blast and died with any other possible survivors when Hot Rod shot down the shuttle.
Damn, man. Hot Rod just can't cut a break
It's why i maintain that that scene, along with Prime's mortal wounding and Magnus' temporary death, were all badly written scenes. They DO accomplish their purpose, but thinking about it, there were FAR better ways to go from point A to point B
- don't make the shuttle battle so hilariously one-sided. At least have the four Autobots take down some of the other cons also meant to be phased out.

- Magnus not dying avoids cheapening the previous deaths if he could just simply be repaired. Alternatively, have the armor be temporarily destroyed, revealing the white core robot.
Seriously think the shuttle scene should've had the Autobots be blasted several times each before dying.

Brawn, Kup, and Ironhide
No wonder he call himself Brawn
Wildride is a different character as far as I'm concerned.
BRAWN: "I'll get the door!"
[....there was a door there?
LUL.]
Brawn can Short he can Kick any Badguys butt
Had the original when I was a kid. My favourite one, alongside my Cosmos original. Was gutted when he was broken beyond repair. I’ve still got Cosmos tho
Here's a little known fact: Brawn was the first Transformer toy I ever owned.
I was shocked how one blast finished him off, but the exit wounds look even worse 🤕⚠️
Ironhide and Ratchet were dealt multiple shots from Megatron gun mode…
That’s just the way it was, eventhough Ironhide and Brawn were the most durable Autobots on that shuttle. 🤖🛡️
Yes
I personally headcanon Brawn survived Megatron's shot and then the ship crashed into the moderately large body of water around Autobot City, which let him survive
My favorite Autobot. Yeah, he went out like a punk in the movie, but I dare you find anyone who equaled all he did to Soundwave, Starscream and Megatron.
My son was really upset about his death. We just watched the movie yesterday, my kids first time seeing it.
