If they are twin, I think Sideswipe is the older one. As he does fit a typical image of older sibling being strong but not without thought.

I thoroughly enjoyed this, and learnt a lot too. Sideswipe was always my favourite of the two brothers and one of my favourite autobots ever.
Also it was nice to see you give a quick mention to Stan Chou, that guy has the patience of a saint.
Sunstreaker and Sideswipe have always been my favorites. I would love to see more adventures with just them two. I always hate seeing toy of Sideswipe done without Sunstreaker.
Having a younger brother that I have to look out for, these two are some of my favorite characters and I find myself buying up and pairing them as much as I can.

Sideswipe in the G1 was always my favorite take on him and of course his vehicle mode was my favorite of all the autobot vehicle modes. I definitely agree we should have more Sunstreaker and Sideswipe interactions as these brothers are just fun, similar to Prowl and Bluestreak’s brotherly dynamic.

i stan the Bayverse Sideswipe. i like the Armada version, aligned continuity, i never knew Sideswipe was in Animated till now. whilst i like Michael Bell as Sideswipe, the Bayverse actors are my preferred version. but i love Travis Willingham and the other voice actors who voiced him.
With sideswipe g2 color schemes being one of my personal favourite things about g2,i'm glad we are seeing it so much in now days (like in animated and siege)

Not going to lie, Sideswipe was always one of my favorite autobots.( He was just so cool) Micheal Bell as the voice actor may had something to do with it. My top 5 autobot list is O Prime, Sideswipe, Hot Rod, Brawn, and of course my man Prowl.

Michael Bell is such a great voice actor...it's amazing that Prowl and Sideswipe on this show and Quackerjack on Darkwing Duck were all voiced by him when they were such different personalities.

I always wished we had gotten more "sibling stories" featuring Sideswipe and Sunstreaker in animated forms. We did get the "Autobot Brothers" in Robots In Disguise but it was never as much fun as the Primadonna that was Sunstreaker and the Spitfire Rookie nerd that was Sideswipe! They really had a fun dynamic!
I primarily played Sideswipe in Transformers: Devastation as he is one of my favourite Autobots from the Transformers franchise

I've always loved Sideswipe. Despite my introduction being the live action movie version, I've really grown attached to his original character bio. He's become one of my favorite Autobots in recent years, up there with Hot Rod, Blurr, and Wheeljack.

The Lamborghini Countach that Diaclone and G1 Sideswipe were based on was an interesting custom made model: the 1975 Walter Wolf Special so-called "LP500S" version 1. The Austrian racing magnate ordered a white bespoke LP400 in 1975, but he was not satisfied with it. So he asked for improvements to be made, which would later become common features on more advanced versions of the car.
Sideswipe has the periscopic roof depression of the LP400, and also lacks rear side marker lights and a stylized "S" on the rear fascia just like the LP400. However, Sideswipe also sports the Walter Wolf Special v.1's front air dam, Rallye Racing decals, wheel fender flares, Campagnolo Bravo wheels with raised rims around the wheel holes, and giant rear wing--all of which would feature prominently on the LP400S model, later. The Walter Wolf Special also included a 5.0L V12 engine for extra power, which gave rise to the moniker "LP500S" being used with the custom car long before any LP500S actually went into production and distribution to other customers. And this is reflected in the Diaclone Countaches and Sideswipe likewise being labeled as LP500s.
That being said, the original Walter Wolf Special v.1 car that served as the inspiration for the Diaclones and Sideswipe was really a combination LP400 and LP400S with a 5.0L motor. The actual LP500S production car came years later and had different Campagnolo wheels and a different roof.
Wolf was known for envisioning and driving exciting new cars, but not for keeping them long. His v.1 Countach ended up becoming part of a Japanese super car show ring. In this capacity, it became the basis for countless Countach toys and plastic model kits in Japan. It appears that all Japanese Countach products in the late '70s and early '80s copied the Japanese Wolf Special v.1, right down to its hybridized LP400/LP400S feature set, despite the rise of other more successful variants elsewhere in the world. This Japanese Countach had become a sort of national idol.
And so, Takara modeled almost all of its G1 Countach Transformers off of the same source: Sideswipe, Red Alert, Autokron I, Tigertrack, Clampdown, and Deep Cover; and to a lesser extent Sunstreaker, Spin-Out, and Cordon.
That original Walter Wolf Special is still in Japan, to this day. Okado Eiichi, proprietor of a Lamborghini specialty shop, acquired the car himself. He says it is still used to design toys and models, even now.
Given all of this, very late in G1, in the 1989 W9/Victory toylines, Free Wheeler and Deadwheeler finally received the updated form of a Lamborghini LP5000QV Quattrovalvolve, which was distinguished by more prominent front and rear bumpers and a large bump for an engine cover over the rear deck, front and rear side marker lights, and no periscopic roof indentation.
But the classic, quintessential Transformers Lambo remains the Walter Wolf Special "LP500S" version 1: the Japanese Countach.

Your welcome! Great work on the deleted scene! I'd love to see the battle sequence of Optimus Prime extended with Megatron's roundhouse kick and the Seekers fighting Kup, Arcee, Springer, and Hot Rod before the "I've got to help Prime!" I'm sure you noticed it looking over the story boards.

Yeah, G1 Sideswipe always kinda pissed me off, as the Sunstreaker toy CLEARLY has the built-in jetpack (the car's turbo intakes obviously meant to double as the jetpack intakes) and the pile driver hands via his accessories.

Here is an observation I made 2015 RID sideswipe actually goes from his g1 animated model to his original g1 model
He’s always been my favourite in fact when i got Transformers devastation I don’t know at first sideswipe was added in but as soon i got to section were I played as him I instantly said I’m gonna main him throughout the game and to my word i did so glad they got his original VA back for it to.
As they did with Megatron, Soundwave, and Bumblebee! (I believe Grimlock as well!)

I love how Michael Bell gave a tough, authoritative voice to Prowl while giving a looser, youthful, more fun-loving voice to Sideswipe. (Even if Mike mistakenly switched them from time to time!)
One of the greatest regrets of the original cartoon is that he and Sunstreaker didn't get a spotlight episode for themselves as Bots like Gears, Mirage, and Cliffjumper did. Can you imagine all the sibling rivalry hijinks that would have occurred?! Which is why, as it was the first time we saw the twins in a starring role in the comics, that DREAMWAVE Insecticon storyline will always rank high with me.

First version of sideswipe I was introduced was the bay verse movies but the version I love the most is the war and fall of cybertron version. He’s actually one of my favorite autobots.
I would argue that what you love about the first Aligned Sideswipe are the same things present about the G1 bot since the developers were trying to ensure they were there for the character. Of course with the absence of Sunstreaker.

When I first watched ROTF when I was younger, I once thought that Sideswipe was the Decepticon and Sideways was the Autobot, also when Optimus Prime retrospective
G1 version Sideswipe, 100% and the alt mode Lamborghini Countach is such an beautiful iconic car. Him and his brother both need main roles more and definitely in the live action movies. Always hated that he was left out of the Hasbro Death campaign of 1986 or "The Great Massacre of 1986" movie. Although, it was for the better cause very few made it out alive.
My favourite version of Sideswipe is the one from G1, the Movies, the WFC/FOC Video Games, and the WFC Netflix show
Sideswipe mah bot, aw yeah. I have many favorite Transformers like Drift and Sixshot, but if we're talking about my favorite from the ORIGINAL G1 on the Autobot side, it's Sideswipe. I remember buying that RotF Sidearm Sideswipe figure on Christmas day from the money I got, still have that figure though lost the two flare launchers. How Sideswipe becoming my personal favorite is a little late because my gateway was with the video game by Platinum Games, Transformers: DEVASTATION. I have the Masterpiece Anime Ver., the SIEGE figure, even WFC Trilogy Deep Cover and most recently is Kingdom Sideswipe.
I know the SIEGE Sideswipe mold has been re-release multiple times, but honestly I love this figure mold, and I get people are getting sick of it, but think of it this way, the SIEGE Sideswipe mold is the Seeker of the Autobot, receiving multiple repaints as new characters.
