Steve, I saw so few Gheenoe’s as a kid growing up in central Florida. When I moved to Georgia after college I bought one in 2000. ($500 for the 15’6” classic and $450 for the trailer. Best $1000.00 I ever spent) As my fishing buddies started buying Maverick’s and Hewe’s they all laughed at my Gheenoe and my 9.9 hp Yamaha.
20 years later a bunch of the guys (they still have their Flats boats and their 250 hp motors) have seen the genius in the design and how long you can fish on a 6 gallon tank of gas. Not to mention the places you can get that you wouldn’t want to take a $40,000 boat.

I love my Gheenoe, it’s perfect for what I do! And the storage is so much easier than a big boat

@@stevemitchellfishing463 hey Steve. You are SO RIGHT! I hadn’t thought about storage. The Gheenoe fits fine in the garage. And it’s small enough to still maneuver in said garage.

I have fished the Gheenoe classic for 20 years in lake Okeechobee and it is an awesome platform for any kind of fishing. Hope you have as much fun as i've had in mine.

Love the classic best bang for buck gheenoe by far I had a third son so cut my boat money in half and got a 1542 I have a gheenoe trolling motor mount upfront with the pole anchor set up I’ll be jealous in any chop that’s for sure but I love it. I wouldn’t put a consol either save the space your set up is sweet tight lines.

Great looking boat! I fish the Texas gulf coast in the bays and marsh and my question is how will it handle oyster reefs because we hit them at low speeds all day here

Hi nice video...I am thinking about getting a gheenoe as I will be semi retired soon and am looking for a nice starter boat...a couple of questions, Do You feel the need to get a canopy ? I live in Florida and don't want to bake in the sun..
You mentioned that You bought the boat from someone else did You get it off c. List or market place? Or would You suggest buying from a dealer? Thanks Johnny

the canopy would get in the way for me, but I think that’s personal preference. I bought mine used on marketplace because the lead times from the manufacturer are pretty long (over 12 months at the time). good luck with your search!

What rod holders are those. Very hard to find ones that fit the contours of the classic.

I know this is older video. Been checking out Gheenoes I can’t justify paying crazy stupid money people want for these flats boats. How much weight are you carrying between you a buddy motor and gear? I saw the Super 18 is only rated for 800#.

I got the boat used with the platform already installed, but I think everything was done by Gheenoe.net

Hey steve, which seat cushion fits the Classic center box? Did you purchase it from custom gheenoe?

    • @stevemitchellfishing463
