2021 Toyota Venza Vs. 2021 Lexus NX300h - Which is the Better Lexus SUV?

  • Platform sharing among automakers is nothing new. Sometimes, we find rare instances when the mainstream brand actually ends up being better than the luxury offering. The #LexusNX300h has long been a fine choice for buyers looking for a comfortable and efficient compact SUV to handle your daily commute but for 2021, the #ToyotaVenza is back in hybrid only form and with a new interior that could easily wear a #Lexus badge on the steering wheel. Its an internal rivalry for #Toyota and Lexus, until a next generation #LexusNX comes out.

Absolutely not. You are basically spending an additional $7k for a badge (I think at $50k the Lexus IS way overpriced). The Lexus Is smaller, has less power and is slower, offers lower fuel economy, older tech, and based on a previous generation vehicle. Over the past few years, many of these mainstream brands have really upped their game and in many cases offer the same features if properly equipped as the luxury brands. So unless a luxury badge matters to the buyer, you can probably do just as well, and sometimes even better by choosing a mainstream brand.

Where do you put your and passenger put your phones. Please don't say cupholders. Then where does your Statbucks go? Hand bag, crossbody bag? Behind front seats, then rear passenger legs go? That's why and the Rav4 prime better ride and power lower price and tax credit; I had to nix the Venza. I think it has a sleek new age look, But the Rav4 prime's drivetrain and suspension is infinitely better. Venza shouldnhave it on top line for the same $3k more , but then its really in Lexus shoes. Venza should be a Lexus. Make the NX bigger. Make the RX a much bigger 3 row std.& Where are the sportback models? Make the Venza SB a sportback Rav4. Is it the price and or the styling holding down Venza sales? I like the styling, but $5k too much with out the Rav4Prime drivetrain. A Toyota rare fail. I've seen more 8 newer Mazda miatas than the 3 Venzas in 2020. That include the 1 at dealership 5blks from home. 5mths, still out front. No sale. Hmmm it's a 2020. Maybe they'll take $8.5k off.

I had a Venza Limited on order but changed my mind and bought a 2021 NX 300h. It was actually $5,100 more for me. Reasons why? I like the looks better. Could care less about the star gaze roof (I wanted one I could actually use). I wanted real buttons for the climate and radio. And, mostly I’m betting on the Lexus quality and resale. I feel (fingers crossed) I will get a lot of that money back on resale. Only time will tell. And the track pad? Once you get used to it, it’s perfectly fine. Hey, both seem like great vehicles. Great review! Went from a Rav4 to a Titanium Glow Venza XLE about 3 weeks ago. Passenger compartment noticeably smaller than my Rav4 along with the much smaller cargo space, even though the Venza is slightly longer overall. Mine has the knobs and traditional hard buttons, which I definitely prefer. I don't need towing capability since I have a truck. Really love the ride comfort and feel as well as the 40 mph gas mileage. Personally despise the front grill of the Lexus and have been waiting for a change but gave up when I saw the Venza. Comment on trim levels. Due to the current chip shortage, the dealer only had one Venza Limited and it just came in the morning. I bought it. With more of a selection available, I would have gone for the lowest trim. The lowest trim is loaded. They made it too nice. Really no need to upgrade. At about $ 34,000 out the door, the lowest trim is the one to buy.

Looked at both...local Toyota dealer put a $3500 dealer mark up on the Venza...after comparing the 2, we went with the NX. Last generation vehicles also prove to be “bulletproof” and the aggressive pricing for outgoing model was too good to pass. Coming from a 2007 Highlander, the NX was perfect for empty nester family. No way Lexus IS going to give much off the new model coming in 2022. We’ll keep the NX for at least 10 years...
