Finally had Brent from PFI Speed tune the K-swap Cefiro Drift car. Fixed a huge problem.

- I found a major issue with the k24 turbo swapped nissan Cefiro "ultimate street drift car" and fixing that made a massive difference, and then we went down to have Brent from PFI speed dial in the tune on it, and boy is it rowdy now!

I don't think they realize just how much we enjoy the two of them jibber-jabbering about engines.......and pretty much everything else. Just a couple of the most enjoyable people to be around. The kind of people that you hope your children grow up to emulate. I may be a bit high right now, but Taylor and Brent ALWAYS make me happy.
Would definitely build a short block for the Cefiro, just make sure to overbuild it a bit, so you can tune it conservative, and thrash on it longer! CSS + Rods + Pistons + ARP all things. Full prep the block for oiling and niceness too! Smart investment for longterm usage!
especially since its running so well rn he could gradually build another block over time and throw on an efr 7670 and really make some JAM

@@devon5078 I was at the point in the vid before he went over the fire-ring issue he resolved, but after seeing how much more responsive it is now, I agree with your plan totally. Shit would be sick & it would deffo EAT with that setup.

That piece is annoying to keep putting back in when testing, but unlike a clutch with mounting the trans/driveshaft stuff... the lack of fire ring just makes it a little laggy but it still moves.

I dont know if you ever seen my comment about 6 months ago, but on the bottom side of one of your aluminum intake pipes that is pie cuts, you missed about 1 inch of weld. It was after you said it was finished (that pipe specifically)

one thing you can do is mount a heavy block of metal supported by rubber to the trans, this is used in oem applications to help handle vibrations.
Still one of my top 3 k swap builds to date has to be number 3 on my list keep it up Tyler Ray and absolutely love your creativity, passion Nd talent in and towards the automotive world I've been wrenching since I was 8 rebuilding a SBC in a motor home with my God Father and frome there has not stopped and have worked on everything from model t's model A's deisel rations and classic cars and high horse power builds to modern-day stuff but tour channel is so amazing keep it up can't wait to see the daily turbo truck build and the new shop to be finished for you it is so nice being in Florida compared to me living in Wisconsin were winter months suck and if you don't have a nice heated garage its very difficult to do any work once again always look forward to every video you release already waiting for the next video

I watched the pfi video of Brent tuning the car an the difference is amazing. I have a honda civic si with NA jdm k24a motor and it's the most fun I've ever had in a civic that's na. Would love to turbo it 1 day. But I live in PA and it's getting to hard to pass an testing they require now. But I mite get it tagged as a none daily driven car since that seems to be the only way I can drive it at all with a turbo.

Have to say though, about the rattling noises and vibrations. Like with Jimmy’s K-swap as well. Taylor’s talking about transmission causing it, which it might add to it.
But they all delete the original oilpump which has an entire balance-shafts unit attached to it. Which for high revving you obviously wanna get rid off. But to me it feels like such a natural byproduct and so obvious that when you delete it you end up with these vibrations etc.

When you install the waste gate use an air compressor hose to take pressure off the wg spring and tighten clamp

But I noticed in your videos how much you would clutch kick it and it would just bog.. a few buddies in my car club that built turbo stock k's and make good power!! didn't wanna seem negative but I wanted to say something about it!! I’ve tried the bmw gearbox conversion on my s13 before and they generally just vibrate like a pig. They are used to having the rubber Quebo doughnut thing in the prop and a duel mass flywheel. To smooth them out. Went back to the Nissan gearbox and the car was loads better.

Next change or build take the gate spring out = 1: no spring pushing against the fire ring during installation.
2: the spring is a "much larger reminder" that the fire ring 'might not be installed'.
3: waste gate without spring = VERY obvious something isn't right when you drive it (no boost)😜
I think you should try a rubber guibo. I’ve only heard bad things about going with the solid guibo. Might help with the vibrations
