The Bad Apple campaign had more potential than this. I hate that the cinematics are computer screens only. I hate it that there are no miscellenious cinematics, not between Shade and Locke talking about their past with Bain maybe, not between Dallas and Houston having a heart-to-heart after he was saved because they are brothers, not how noone mentions that there is a "Payday veteran" going about brutally killing thugs and stealing their valueables. The ending is so underwhelming, Concord was the Big Bad Wolf, the enemy of the PAYDAY gang, and they supposedly got rid of him because of some digital money and allies he lost, they assume he will be snuffed out like Sharke and Ralph were by his former allies, now that he has lost his power. And back again to the cinematics. The are just computer screens with a few images they show, even some IRL stuff. The cinematics that the base game had? They were very basic, simple still shots that were made of the in-engine character models and then did some manual handwork to apply effects and look a little better. I doubt they were that hard to make, but still have more character than these computer screens. But apparently they had no resources for this. I hope the Dragan Files will be updated soon.
tbh noone plays payday for it's story, but if they add stuff like cinematics, especially if they are really basic then atleast make the lore actually good
@@chibisayori20 The story helps build up the characters though. And the characters (heisters and Shade) are very important due to how much exposure you have to them in game IMO.
I hope they add more lines for SINS over time since it makes no sense for it to confuse Hoxton and Joy with Houston and Clover, but it can’t identify the latter two if you actually play as them.
I could've sworn most of the gang had their names revealed in the FBI files and character select screen in Payday 2 but I guess I misremembered. I know Dallas, Hoxton and debatably Wolf's names were revealed.
Something about how underwhelming Concord's ending is really makes me believe it's not the end. I'm probably expecting too much, but I get the impression that Shade and the gang are being arrogant in assuming Concord is out of the game; While he has been given a serious blow, the fact that he never actually appeared in person, never interacted with the gang and we never even saw any Treaty operatives just makes me feel that he's still kicking around, and the Concord storyline is going to continue into whatever happens in Year Two. The arrogance of the gang could also tie into why they're not going back into retirement after "stopping" him, almost like they're addicted to heisting, which is going to lead into either their downfall or at least serious issues down the line. That's definitely asking too much, though, given how schlocky the story has generally been to this point. Also, what's the assault bar mod? It looks really damn good.
Ok, here's my theory. Maybe the last cutscene is so "Oh yeah, Gang. We did it! We defeated the big guy!" because Starbreeze was unsure if they would manage to keep support for this gang for a second year. LIke a safety net incase the story had to end there, so at least would be a somewhat happy ending for the crew. So, if they managed to continue working on the game for more Years to come, they will continue expanding more on Concor what he is REALLY capable of and giving a more satisfying conclusion to this story arc, one where we go against him in game... hopefully. I'm with you, there's more to him and we at the very least need a direct confrontation between him and the gang. At the very least a conversation between him and the gang. Revealing that the hit on Wall Street wasn't that much damage as the gang though and he has bigger plans. Maybe too much big stuff that they will be FORCED to get in touch with an old member of the gang who still is enjoying retirement. Bain, AKA the freaking President. I'm serious, if we get a future job were the contractor is the PRESIDENT, I would lose my shit, but that's me dreaming now. In general, I also believe there's more of Concord to come and he will now return find new ways to fight back against the Payday Gang.
payday's never been a game known for its cutscenes and i don't think there are many people playing for lore™ but the call of duty mission briefing/loading screen transition type cutscenes for the post launch story do not do it any favors LMAO it all feels so lackluster when put together, it really does remind me of modern cods way of storytelling, big bad of the season who gets wiped out in time for the next one to stumble into the story maybe its a me thing cus i don't like that way of storytelling either but what else can you do with a live service game ig. heres hoping year 2 is better 🥂🥂
In my opinion instead of the butcher being the same character as in payday 2 dragan could have taken her position as a leader in her operation of weapon smuggling while she is either retired or dead
Great video! A bit of feedback: Your accent is rather thick, so thick that at some points it can genuinely be pretty hard to understand what word you just said. Now I'm not telling you to try and get rid of your accent, god no. What I'm asking for instead is that you consider adding subtitles to your videos. Auto-generated TH-cam subtitles are known to be quite trash and anything you could add with an extra bit of effort would be infinitely more useful. It would definitely add to the viewing experience :) in the words of the great Tom Scott- "[Get] some damn subtitles!"
the last cutscene for fear and greed is the most dissapointing thing to ever watch

@@CenoriaWoah I hope they cook atleast a decent story that isn't over the top but also isn't just...yknow career mode

Wolf's name is not known.
They lost all their money though so they are heisting again anyway
They robbed 10 million dollars out of Wall Street and even more throughout the rest of the game.
@@CrimeNetArchive it's nothing compared to what they had tho

I assume you write a script of at least some kind for these videos so using that as a baseline (if not the entire thing) would already be enough.
I'll consider if I can spend some editing time into these, thank you!
Thank God we're not getting more of this campaign BS.... Hopefully.
I like the campaigns, and we are most likely getting more of em.
