Caitlyn getting powers really should have been a 'less is more' situation' They should have kept her struggle with being afraid that she will become like killer frost, had her work through it with Barry and everyone and once she comes to terms with her powers, she joins the team in the field. Killer frost somehow being a separate person was really un-necessary.
I think they're gonna kill both characters off. Think about it, last time we saw Caitlin "die" , Cisco took that necklace off her and Killer Frost comes back. They're gonna separate them in order to legitimately kill them both
It's even worst for comic fans. In the source material, Killer Frost is a "heat vampire" - she freezes everything around her because she's always needing heat and can't help it. There could have been something interesting there with Caitlyn struggling as she becomes an unintentional threat to people around her.

I've always found it a shame that the Rogues like Captain Cold, Heat Wave, Trickster, Grodd, Golden Glider and Pied Piper got phased out of the show. And the writers wonder why they have to overly rely on speedster villains now.

I never watched Legends of Tomorrow because I feel genuinely disgusted and repulsed when I realize that the show portrays Barry as an asshole for saving his mom after his dad was just brutally murdered right in front of him but Sara is just okay with altering the timeline for sex and the show acts like you're supposed to laugh.
The show really messes with the timeline a lot (like kinda letting Amaya save her entire village and alter decades of history) but as the show goes along it takes it self less and less seriously to the point you don’t really notice how much they must mess up along the way
Oh no kidding, that show committed character assassination of Sara, and its premise itself is flawed, and it changes its rules like every 2 episodes, and all the characters mess up far worse than Barry. Honestly, the Arrowverse as a whole would suck a tiny bit less if they had never made LoT.

7:20 In the comics Flashpoint Barry realises his mistake and helps restore time to what it was. CW Barry didn't care whose lives he ruined as long as he got his parents back, only decided to end Flashpoint after he started forgetting his obsession Iris and time was still different at the end.
But he doesn't? In the comics Barry trying to fix Flashpoint caused a reboot of the entire DC Universe. Like 2 or 3 seperate universes got fused into the New 52 because Barry by trying to fix everything just shattered the timeline again just like when he created Flashpoint. It'd be great if you actually knew what you were talking about when criticising something.

For instance why make a character known to be barry's future wife his Adoptive sister. They knew exactly where her relationship was going to go but still chose to make it weird when it was entirely avoidable. So if you ask me her character is pretty much the poster child for all the bad writing decisions the writers would make later a red flag if you want to call it that.
Every version of Wells after the Earth 2 one was basically to keep Cavanagh in the show. They had no plans for any of them. Especially HR who was just a plot device so they didn't have to follow through with Savitar killing Iris even though they really should have done.

She's treated as kind and caring but is really nasty and selfish. Despite the show painting it as love Barry and Iris's relationship is just lust. If it was love they'd fancy each other for more reasons than just looks and sex.

The various versions of Hulk are actually explained though. The Hulk started out as a split personality Bruce developed to cope with the abuse from his dad Brian and gained physical form when he became an adult and was blasted with gamma radiation. But with Killer Frost they can't decide whether getting the powers turned Caitlin evil or whether Frost is another personality caused by her getting them.
The worst part is, that it was actually stated in the show (I'm currently rewatching it, no idk why I'm subjecting myself to that, maybe because the recent seasons traumatised me so much I actually think season 3 is good and 4 is mediocre.. Barry has decent onscreen chemistry with everyone EXCEPT iris. Its painful watching them interact as a couple. Season 1 was by far the best, the rest are bad and getting worse with every new season.

@@Xehanort10 well I read some article with Iris’s actress saying she doesn’t like being on the show too much and she doesn’t even watch it because the superiors on the show don’t give her a lot of support (or any other of the black characters for that matter) and that makes a lot of sense, unfortunately the black characters aren’t written very well which is probably what Candice patton(iris) means and why she doesn’t watch the show and thus probably means chemistry will be off, and it’s so sad bc the own showrunner is black too I think or the show creator

Not completely revolving a show called The Flash around Iris West isn't racism yet Candice Patton thinks it is. Iris is criticised and hated because she's a boring character who just exists to give Barry sappy speeches about how she loves and believes in him, get kidnapped and nearly killed. She's a Mary Sue who almost every man loves and every woman wants to befriend for no reason. Her wrongdoings are never acknowledged and she's treated like she has no flaws. Her and Barry are a lustful couple who think they're a loving one. If they loved each other there'd be more to their relationship than looks and sex, they'd make decisions together and agree on things instead of Iris deciding for both of them and threatening divorce if Barry doesn't agree. Unless they're having sex they don't seem to like being around and spending time with each other. Some couples have arguments but almost every conversation Barry and Iris have is one. Those are some reasons people hate her not because she's black.

I, for one, enjoyed season 3 well enough. It’s obviously far weaker than the first two and flashpoint being one episode was really lame (should have been the first half of the season, thus drastically improving the pacing of the season as a whole and fully exploring the flashpoint timeline) but I still liked it quite a bit. The seasons following only got worse and worse.
That one episode of flashtime was good in season 4 tho. Also agreed about season 3 I've been saying that flashpoint should've been like half if not the whole season and Barry wearing the heavy crown so to speak and being the villain but as a metaphor not actually fighting himself as Savitar which was dumb af. But I do enjoy the first kinda half of season 3 with Barry teaming up with Jay and Jesse Quick and teaching Jesse and Wally and the episode where he has to go into the speedforce to get Wally out. They should've just ended the season there and Barry going into the speedforce as punishment and stuff
The Flash show can be used as an example of creating something somewhat serious and definitely dark, to turning it into practically a comedy, and then making it a tragedy over the course of about 3 seasons out of 9 (when it finally ended, never should've continued past season 6).

Hold on... Savitar loosing his memory when Barry does doesn't really make sense to me? Because if savitar is from the future, and Barry's memory loss is only temporary, that would mean that as a future version of Barry, savitar would already be in a state of having regained his memory since loosing it would have been a distant event for him.
Depends how long the memory loss lasts for I'd imagine. Savitar isnt future Barry, he's a clone of future Barry, therefore Savitar should only have Barry's memories up until the moment he's created. So if Barry's memory loss isnt resolved until after when Savitar is supposed to be made, then that memory loss would stick
When I hear people complain about season three, I understand. However, I still believe it had enough elements of what made flash great and focusing on the mistake that is flashpoint (however long it may have lasted) grounded the story with season two consequences. The reason I think it should have ended there instead of season 2 is that to me, Barry walking into the speedforce wasn't a cliff-hanger. I saw it as the end. Everyone's character arc had been completed (mostly). Season one started and ended with Thawn trying to return home. By splitting open space and time, Thawn opens the way for Zoom and season 2. Season 3 starts in Flashpoint, a timeline Barry made to stop the pain of his fathers death, one of the last consequences from season 2. Season 3 ends with Barry finally at peace, something he thought he found with beating Thawn. He lost what peace he had with Zoom, and created Savitar in an attempt to finally put the death of his parents behind him. While the wedding was in season 4, Barry and Iris were engaged by the time Barry sacrificed his life for the world, so the love story was basically over. Wally got to be the hero he wanted. Cisco had finally filled season 1 well's shoes. (deceptions aside, Thawn/Wells was a great mentor for him.) Harry finished his main arcs in season two, and HR was dead. The only arc that could benefit from continuing was Catlin. There's nothing wrong with starting new story's after finishing old ones, it's just that CW didn't start stories that people wanted to see (other than earth x, that was cool) and thus, the show suffered. leaving the villain-of-the-week format in later seasons didn't help.

The flash comic that was an inspiration for this show is from the 90s I've de read it awesome but it also has these inconsistencies like weather wizard's first appearance racing mr element across the sea Heck even the animated flashpoint is inconsistent like literally boomerangs caught up with him

18:12 Devoe should have been a guy willing to do anything to cure his crippling who became more evil over the course of the season because of how far he was willing to go. Instead he became overpowered through constant body switching and a plan to make everyone dumb so he could reteach them and be hailed a genius. And Marlize should have done what she did out of misguided love for her husband not been abused by him and brainwashed into helping with his plans.

In season 4 Barry should have stayed in the speed force for the next 2 seasons at least. That would have given Wally time to shine as a speedster and made Barry's return actually mean something
Iris was getting really annoying before her daughter showed up. The producers treating her like God ruined her character. Her being able to use Barry's powers better in a day than he did in years was the most egregious example I could think of off the top of my head.
Yeah I started to lose interest in the flash when the devoe season came out it just became repetitive and there weren't enough other speedsters, because im into that speedster life
I mean, you can’t call it repetitive and ask for speedsters. Off the top of my head there was Black Flash, Rival, Reverse Flash, Zoom, Savitar, Trajectory. Those are just the villains. I mean you can be into the speedster life but one of the largest repetitively complaints was every villain is just another speedster
I really liked season 3, I loved how dark it was and I loved the caitlin/killer frost storyline. Season 3 was my favorite season. I also really liked how they trolled us with Iris's death.
For me there are three things I hate the most about season 5 ( there are a lot more things I hate about the season but these were the ones I hate the most) 1: cicada 2: Nora 3: flashes new suit ( uggghh I hate that suit🤮)
Somehow many things wrong with latter seasons especially S7-9 just endlessly remind me they made Season 5. After the criticisms that were quite different between Season 3 and 4. They chose to ignore all of them, and make all entirely new ones. At least S6's first half is actually interesting and builds up to something, and even after there are obvious situations, it just drags on too long with too short of actual confrontation. The show should've ended after that, the suits got cheaper ane cheaper looking as if the awful S5 suit wasn't bad enough.
Season 3 wasn’t even that bad to be honest. It still felt like the flash and actually after rewatching it two more times is very enjoyable. Some people didn’t like how dark it got but I liked the change in tone, and Savitar (to me anyway) was an incredible and very powerful villain. I think what makes it bad is just the underwhelming finale (like the fact that the god of speed was killed by a bullet by some chick in a leather jacket) but so many moments in the season are just great to watch.
I always felt like Thrawn knew he was in a story, so he knew who had the plot armor and when. When Thrawn had plot armor, he used it. When the heroes had plot armor, Thrawn either avoided a confrontation or he let things play out. When the big final confrontation happened, he gambled and managed a draw in the face of massive ex machina. If you look at Thrawn more like Rick from Rick and Morty, everything makes sense. Although Thrawn never directly broke the fourth wall, I always had the unsettling feeling that he knows I’m watching him.
I use to think season 1 and 2 was good too but after watching madvocates videos he proofs that barry could take out most of the villains in the blink without them being able to react if he didn't stop to talk so much also people claim there tired of speedsters but those should be the only people who could compete with him
They should have had non powered villains use devices to shut off his speed if only for a bit to give themselves time to escape or something like that. Instead they use pep talks and motivational speeches to justify villains getting away during Barry's naive rambling or have him be somehow unable to catch people walking away normally who can only have gotten a few steps up the street and should still be clearly visible by the time he goes after them.
The explanation for why time never returns to normal when Barry time travels is because when he runs through time he’s actually breaking the time barrier like how jets break the sound barrier. The problem is that when Barry breaks the time barrier a time boom happens causing changes in the timeline. The changes can be big or little. I’m pretty sure this never gets explained in the show but the animated movie explains it and the entire dc universe was affected by flashpoint.
Btw it’s the powers of killer frost that make her cold because I guess her heart freezes it’s just a side effect of her power I’m sorry why do we need a big explanation but I still agree tho. (mostly)
Also I would take a speedster villain every season over what we got season 4 onwards! Future berry beings savatar was interesting to me and Idk it was just good to me 🤷🏼 and I would take a savatar season again 100 times over before I take a Godspeed season omg 😆
Tbh they could have thought that it is the hero-vilain situation zoom had(he gave hope as a hero and he took it after he played the villain) also Jay said something like" savitar feels you are a worthy opponent and he challenge's you" or something like that, also normally a future person Wouldn't want his past self to suffer.
The first 9 episodes of Season 3 should have been Flashpoint. During this timeline the Rival would be the main enemy. Then the mid-season finale should have ending with Barry fixing the timeline, after that the second half of the season would start, and then we cut out all the filler and do the Savitar Story.
I also used to think season 1 and 2 were good, until I realized that CW nerfs the flash everytime there's a villain, for plot convenience. There are just so many scenes where Barry is just standing there and doing nothing while the villain slow walks away, where barry could just run after him and tie him up in like 1 second. And there's times where Barry can sometimes seize common robbers within seconds and have them tied up before they know what's happening. Then there's that time barry takes a person from a car and relocated them to the cop car while it's going. And then we have barry not doing anything every time a villain is escaping, when barry can literally perceive things happening slower faster than everyone else. Which should mean 90% of the Flash villains should be caught in the very episode they appear in, but it never happens. So in the end, Barry's powers change to fit the plot and that is not Ok.

Yeah, except Thrawn letting rebels get away got him the location of the rebel base and he managed to obliterate rebellion and delay it for 4 more years. The fear you see in them in Rogue One, that's all Thrawn's doing, because rebels were ready to fight the Empire full on and got their asses handed to them.

Not to mention with the timeline and Thawne… shouldn’t Barry stopping Thawne from killing his mom (Flashpoint) reset the timeline back to what it originally was? Since Barry’s mom dying was a result of Thawne’s time travel??
I say it often, I'll say it again. WALLY should have been Savitar. They built up the frustration of being a new speedster along Barry, failing to prevent his new sister's death, AND his future self was disabled primarily due to SHOCK at who Savitar was.......Oh, and not to mention, Savitar's whamy trick was something something philosopher's stone in the speed force and Wally, emotionally hurt, recklessly throws it in there, causing him to disintigrate shouting, "Help me Barry!!" As the Speed God crawls out of the hole....URGGH. I felt so disappointed.
I honestly loved season 4 of the show as sure there are it’s problems but I really like The Thinkerer, The Elongated Man, and most of the stories, like Barry in prison and every story around Ralph.
I for my part liked every main villain up to season 5, at least the potential I saw when they came up. Season 6&7 I couldn't get myself to watch them because of how I disliked the previous seasons at the end. Reverse-Flash : Well he ist the by far best villain in my oppinion. Not only did his story gets so close connected with the story of the hero, he also comes back from time to time and is at that moment by far the biggest threat. Even the current main villain needs to be but aside for him, so big is he. And the last good point is how his power at the start was set up to be impacted by how powerfull our hero is. Essentialy he is always on a similar powerlevel as the Flash, our hero, and only expirience or help from someone else is the major factor when they clash. Zoom : He is a really good villain to the very end. And what I liked the most at him was how the speedforce gets more into the spotlight, as well how Speedster generaly work. Its great. Combined with the very dark theme he had, it was great. But the by far best point for me was how he became black flash, now working as one of those time wraiths he tryed to escape from the whole season. Savitar : I personaly didn't really mind having a third speedster. Mainly because of the difference between the three. Savitar was set up to be a speedster or force of natur like thing that is so powerfull, it comes only if you are powerfull enough for him to be able to notice you. And every time he shows up he just destroyes every other Speedster, showing us even at the first battle with the flash how he is in super speed, while the flash is in super speed. So while our hero has reached a speed so far above every other speedster we had encountered so far, this god is so fast that he appears in super speed while our hero is in his own super speed. Thats just so good that I still go back to that point from time to time, just to re-live that moment again. But here comes the bad thing that put me down at the end. Him beeing a future version of our hero, while also beeing this legendary thing and god like speedster, just doesn't work. They should had let him be a god of speed, some ancient or something else that had no connection with our hero except that he got strong enough to get the attention of the mentioned god. And instead of him becoming the only real villain for so long, more focus on the cult around his most loyal sevant, Alchemist, and how they wanted to completely summon Savitar. And so every time they prepared a way to permamently summon him to our world, Team Flash stopped it and he only comes for a limited time. And after every encounter, they try something out to speed up Barry. Even if it is a temporary boost. But he never gets a chance to even see the victory, but the enemys get it. They summon him and so the Flash must survive until the rest of the team has set up a reverse ritual and banishes him. At the End Savitar is still somewhere out there but he is stopped for now because Alchemist was taken out. But that doesn't mean thats the last time we saw him, effectively giving him the same Status as the others two Speedster before. Thinker : And here comes a really great enemy. And the reveal so early on but with our hero so powerless to stop him immediately, just because the villain uses the justice system the hero wants to protect against the hero is so great. And because of the great scene with him going throught the base with all the powers he had, I can't really say something agains the idea of him wanting additional powers for his plan. Coming to that point, the plan isn't really a good one. Instead of making everyone stupid to teach them the right way, simply control over everyone to stop all the evil all the people cause would be a much better thing. He believes he does something good, just with evil actions. And because of the justice system the hero supports they are forced into the talking parts. While the Thinker uses different ways to get other villains to fight against Flash so he can collect the powers he wants without him knowing. And only very late they discover that, but he is already so powerfull that he can't simply defeat him immediately anymore. Elastic Man was good in my eyes so we can let him stay. And his power is in fact a good counter to have against the Flash so that is still good. But what I wouldn't let happen is the whole actor switching with that machine/ chair/ whatever. The actor is really great as the Thinker and has the right look for it. Don't take it away from him to give it to other actors who didn't look like the Thinker. And for the finish goal, have all work together to make a plan to disrupt him very slightly in a way he couldn't notice it. Oh and don't say even once his original power is knowledge. Intelligence is a good choice but not knowledge. Because the Thing with the intelligence is, if he didn't has all the informations he can make misstakes. And there the team shots at him. But if he gets knowlegde he can't be defeated. Because he knows already what the heroes are doing and just does the actions he needs to do for his win at the end. It also would fit better with his Name. Thinker as his evil name is just way more thinking and not remembering. Not to mention how similar the words Thinker and thinking are, or not? The last one I saw, Zikader? Really I have no Idea how to write his name and I have no interest in learning it. He was interesting at first because we knew from the very beginning when he would vanish forever. And now we get clearly told that this villain was the last one to encounter our hero before he vanishes. So all in all I was in it. But his power wasn't realy that interesting for me. But I guess it makes sense he would be able to kill our Flash with his counter ability to everyone around him. But sadly I don't see much more bejond what we had. If it is possible to make it better, I don't know how. As a final word I would like to point out I am not a pro writer or anything like that. And I am not native english speaking so its very possible for me to have some errors in all that text above. But I hope I at least got everything clear enough so all the ones who read this comment know what I intent to tell.
One of the biggest problems with the show is that they fail to limit themselves for example we see flash catch small time villains off guard and easily beat them. Heck sometimes we even see the flash use the power dampening cuffs in super speed. Yet he fails to do so, SO MANY TIMES. Sometimes villains just teleport whenever they catch the flash off guard so they can be used in a different scene. one of the biggest problems with the writing is the flash is given so many over powered abilities and barely uses any of them he could easily use flash time and hand cuff most of the non speedster characters. Though most of the time when flash fights a meta he stops to talk to them and waits for them to use their power it’s like the anime rule where you never attack someone during their transformation. Maybe doing it the first time with a new meta isn’t bad but he does it REPEATEDLY.
I think the thing with Legends of Tomorrow is...all of those wacky changes to the timeline were actually not changes and were always how it happened, so that's why it doesn't mess things up as often.
I still agree bruh season 3 is so underrated but I still think 1 and 2 the best season 3 was still made by the same makers but season 4 5 6 and 7 are all bullshit and made by people who don’t understand flash!
Honestly I like Season 3 more than Season 1. The Harrison Wells/Reverse Flash build-up is epic, but the insanity of Seasons 2 and 3 were preferrable over everyone's "favorite." After that though I think it went downhill. With Season 4 they made it less serious, but were also trying to break up the formula a bit. The problems noticeable weren't accepted at all though. Instead of learning from mistakes, they kept any and all and made them 100x worse in Season 5. It and 7 are just atrocious. The first half of Season 6 I'd argue is actually good "the bloodwork/pre-crisis arc" but the rest is trash.
For me The Flash ended with Barry sacrificing himself going to the Speed Force in order to repair his mistakes by creating Flashpoint and Savitar as a consequence. That season 3 ending feels like a definitive finale to the whole show. I'm gonna stuck with the first 3 seasons and pretend the other never happened, so the "WE ARE THE FLASH" and Speed Force Lightsabers bullshit never came across.
Let’s just agree, season 5 was so dumb. A man who can fly, has strength and can take meta powers away. Shoot him, stun him, tase him, do anything that brings down a normal human besides punching
The Time Travel thing sounds confusing but I heard a great explanation for it. Can't remember if it was in the show or some Flashpoint media. Essentially this is how it goes: When you run faster than the speed of sound, you create a Sonic Boom. A Speedster altering the timeline, Creates a Time Boom. This effect ripples through time, forward and backwards from the point you changed. This ripple effect will cause changes to events near randomly. This is how Superman landed in Metropolis instead of Kansas, even tho he should have landed before Nora died etc
Mine would be 1. Season 3 2. Season 2 3. Season 1 4. Season 4 5. Season 5 (when it became cringe) 6. Season 6-7 (because they are both so worthlessly boring, 5 was cringe but least something was happening). See where 8 fits in when the time comes.

I'm not going to try to explain the science behind time dilation and how it all works (I really couldn't, although I understand it enough to get the gist), but if you exceed the speed of light, you travel back in time. We have no known way of doing that, but the mathematical models show that's how it works.
The thing about time travel in terms of the Flash is that if you change the past, it’s gonna have effects on the timeline. They might not be big changes like Flashpoint, it could just be small thing that happen, like Cisco’s brother dying or John and Lyla’s son instead of daughter. You can’t make time the same as before, because no matter what you do, you can’t play God and put everything as it was before. It’ll be like it was but with small, unimportant changes overall
Speedsters in dc always had the ability to time travel and dimension hop through the speed force if they run fast enough or use the cosmic treadmill this is not a new thing

The time machine in Legends of Tomorrow is a delicate piece of machinery Barry time travels by running so fast he punches through a fictional "time barrier" and runs into the time stream, the damage is like a shockwave as a result. Though this is inconsistent in DC media because DC is really old and has had many writers with many ideas
Ok, so I have a theory about the whole Flash timetravel vs Legends timetravel. So, in Legends two things are established, that changes to the timeline take time to cement, and that time "wants to happen" or as I understand it, the timeline gravitates towards certain events, which are much harder to change. My theory is that Flash took too long to correct his actions, thus allowing this new timeline to cement, and as a result, when he went back and changed things back, the timeline that formed wasnt the original, but rather a look-alike of it. Meanwhile, with the legends, I think that as long as a change is small enough, the timeline will course correct so long as no major change has been made, thus negating any sort of butterfly effect. Barry's Flashpoint was far too big of a change to course correct, and rippled out throughout every life that Barry has influenced, meanwhile the Legend's changes are small enough to be course corrected or their changes dont have any major worldshaking impacts on the past, for instance saving that tribe is more or less a footnote in history, sure, some people's lives were impacted, but in the grand scheme of things, its a drop in the bucket

Caitlyn getting powers really should have been a 'less is more' situation' They should have kept her struggle with being afraid that she will become like killer frost, had her work through it with Barry and everyone and once she comes to terms with her powers, she joins the team in the field. Killer frost somehow being a separate person was really un-necessary.
I think they're gonna kill both characters off.
Think about it, last time we saw Caitlin "die" , Cisco took that necklace off her and Killer Frost comes back.

It's even worst for comic fans. In the source material, Killer Frost is a "heat vampire" - she freezes everything around her because she's always needing heat and can't help it. There could have been something interesting there with Caitlyn struggling as she becomes an unintentional threat to people around her.

I've always found it a shame that the Rogues like Captain Cold, Heat Wave, Trickster, Grodd, Golden Glider and Pied Piper got phased out of the show. And the writers wonder why they have to overly rely on speedster villains now.

I never watched Legends of Tomorrow because I feel genuinely disgusted and repulsed when I realize that the show portrays Barry as an asshole for saving his mom after his dad was just brutally murdered right in front of him but Sara is just okay with altering the timeline for sex and the show acts like you're supposed to laugh.
The show really messes with the timeline a lot (like kinda letting Amaya save her entire village and alter decades of history) but as the show goes along it takes it self less and less seriously to the point you don’t really notice how much they must mess up along the way

For instance why make a character known to be barry's future wife his Adoptive sister. They knew exactly where her relationship was going to go but still chose to make it weird when it was entirely avoidable. So if you ask me her character is pretty much the poster child for all the bad writing decisions the writers would make later a red flag if you want to call it that.

The various versions of Hulk are actually explained though. The Hulk started out as a split personality Bruce developed to cope with the abuse from his dad Brian and gained physical form when he became an adult and was blasted with gamma radiation. But with Killer Frost they can't decide whether getting the powers turned Caitlin evil or whether Frost is another personality caused by her getting them.

Barry has decent onscreen chemistry with everyone EXCEPT iris. Its painful watching them interact as a couple. Season 1 was by far the best, the rest are bad and getting worse with every new season.

Not completely revolving a show called The Flash around Iris West isn't racism yet Candice Patton thinks it is. She's a Mary Sue who almost every man loves and every woman wants to befriend for no reason. Her wrongdoings are never acknowledged and she's treated like she has no flaws. Her and Barry are a lustful couple who think they're a loving one. If they loved each other there'd be more to their relationship than looks and sex, they'd make decisions together and agree on things instead of Iris deciding for both of them and threatening divorce if Barry doesn't agree. Unless they're having sex they don't seem to like being around and spending time with each other. Some couples have arguments but almost every conversation Barry and Iris have is one. Those are some reasons people hate her not because she's black.

I, for one, enjoyed season 3 well enough. It’s obviously far weaker than the first two and flashpoint being one episode was really lame (should have been the first half of the season, thus drastically improving the pacing of the season as a whole and fully exploring the flashpoint timeline) but I still liked it quite a bit. The seasons following only got worse and worse.
That one episode of flashtime was good in season 4 tho. Also agreed about season 3 I've been saying that flashpoint should've been like half if not the whole season and Barry wearing the heavy crown so to speak and being the villain but as a metaphor not actually fighting himself as Savitar which was dumb af. But I do enjoy the first kinda half of season 3 with Barry teaming up with Jay and Jesse Quick and teaching Jesse and Wally and the episode where he has to go into the speedforce to get Wally out. They should've just ended the season there and Barry going into the speedforce as punishment and stuff

The Flash show can be used as an example of creating something somewhat serious and definitely dark, to turning it into practically a comedy, and then making it a tragedy over the course of about 3 seasons out of 9 (when it finally ended, never should've continued past season 6).

Because if savitar is from the future, and Barry's memory loss is only temporary, that would mean that as a future version of Barry, savitar would already be in a state of having regained his memory since loosing it would have been a distant event for him.

Depends how long the memory loss lasts for I'd imagine. Savitar isnt future Barry, he's a clone of future Barry, therefore Savitar should only have Barry's memories up until the moment he's created. So if Barry's memory loss isnt resolved until after when Savitar is supposed to be made, then that memory loss would stick

The CW flashes version of Zoom is my favorite villain in any movie or show ever. But recent seasons do suck.
When I hear people complain about season three, I understand. However, I still believe it had enough elements of what made flash great and focusing on the mistake that is flashpoint (however long it may have lasted) grounded the story with season two consequences. The reason I think it should have ended there instead of season 2 is that to me, Barry walking into the speedforce wasn't a cliff-hanger. I saw it as the end. Everyone's character arc had been completed (mostly). Season one started and ended with Thawn trying to return home. By splitting open space and time, Thawn opens the way for Zoom and season 2. Season 3 starts in Flashpoint, a timeline Barry made to stop the pain of his fathers death, one of the last consequences from season 2. Season 3 ends with Barry finally at peace, something he thought he found with beating Thawn. He lost what peace he had with Zoom, and created Savitar in an attempt to finally put the death of his parents behind him. While the wedding was in season 4, Barry and Iris were engaged by the time Barry sacrificed his life for the world, so the love story was basically over. Wally got to be the hero he wanted. Cisco had finally filled season 1 well's shoes. (deceptions aside, Thawn/Wells was a great mentor for him.) Harry finished his main arcs in season two, and HR was dead. The only arc that could benefit from continuing was Catlin. There's nothing wrong with starting new story's after finishing old ones, it's just that CW didn't start stories that people wanted to see (other than earth x, that was cool) and thus, the show suffered. leaving the villain-of-the-week format in later seasons didn't help.
i will always love the "savitar is barry" reveal in s3. it took way too long to happen, but the actual scene itself was handled amazingly imo.

In season 4 Barry should have stayed in the speed force for the next 2 seasons at least. That would have given Wally time to shine as a speedster and made Barry's return actually mean something
Iris was getting really annoying before her daughter showed up. The producers treating her like God ruined her character. Her being able to use Barry's powers better in a day than he did in years was the most egregious example I could think of off the top of my head.

I mean, you can’t call it repetitive and ask for speedsters. Off the top of my head there was Black Flash, Rival, Reverse Flash, Zoom, Savitar, Trajectory. Those are just the villains. I mean you can be into the speedster life but one of the largest repetitively complaints was every villain is just another speedster
I really liked season 3, I loved how dark it was and I loved the caitlin/killer frost storyline. Season 3 was my favorite season. I also really liked how they trolled us with Iris's death.
For me there are three things I hate the most about season 5 ( there are a lot more things I hate about the season but these were the ones I hate the most)

Somehow many things wrong with latter seasons especially S7-9 just endlessly remind me they made Season 5. After the criticisms that were quite different between Season 3 and 4. They chose to ignore all of them, and make all entirely new ones. At least S6's first half is actually interesting and builds up to something, and even after there are obvious situations, it just drags on too long with too short of actual confrontation. The show should've ended after that, the suits got cheaper ane cheaper looking as if the awful S5 suit wasn't bad enough.
Season 3 wasn’t even that bad to be honest. It still felt like the flash and actually after rewatching it two more times is very enjoyable. Some people didn’t like how dark it got but I liked the change in tone, and Savitar (to me anyway) was an incredible and very powerful villain. I think what makes it bad is just the underwhelming finale (like the fact that the god of speed was killed by a bullet by some chick in a leather jacket) but so many moments in the season are just great to watch.
I personally liked season 3 and 4. They were both pretty alright. 5 is when it started falling off the rails for me.
I always felt like Thrawn knew he was in a story, so he knew who had the plot armor and when. When Thrawn had plot armor, he used it. When the heroes had plot armor, Thrawn either avoided a confrontation or he let things play out. When the big final confrontation happened, he gambled and managed a draw in the face of massive ex machina.
If you look at Thrawn more like Rick from Rick and Morty, everything makes sense. Although Thrawn never directly broke the fourth wall, I always had the unsettling feeling that he knows I’m watching him.
That’s actually even more menacing. I will never look at Thawne the same way again.
I liked season 3, and that it toyed with much darker themes and tones than the previous seasons.
I think what would have been interesting if it wasn't Ronnie but if it was Eddie that was Savitar.
Honestly, I lost interest in the show after seasons 5 or 6. I'm just ready for it to end at this point.

They should have had non powered villains use devices to shut off his speed if only for a bit to give themselves time to escape or something like that. Instead they use pep talks and motivational speeches to justify villains getting away during Barry's naive rambling or have him be somehow unable to catch people walking away normally who can only have gotten a few steps up the street and should still be clearly visible by the time he goes after them.
The explanation for why time never returns to normal when Barry time travels is because when he runs through time he’s actually breaking the time barrier like how jets break the sound barrier. The problem is that when Barry breaks the time barrier a time boom happens causing changes in the timeline. The changes can be big or little. I’m pretty sure this never gets explained in the show but the animated movie explains it and the entire dc universe was affected by flashpoint.
I still believe that Wally West should have been Savitar because when you think about it,it makes sense.

The first 9 episodes of Season 3 should have been Flashpoint. During this timeline the Rival would be the main enemy. Then the mid-season finale should have ending with Barry fixing the timeline, after that the second half of the season would start, and then we cut out all the filler and do the Savitar Story.

I also used to think season 1 and 2 were good, until I realized that CW nerfs the flash everytime there's a villain, for plot convenience. There are just so many scenes where Barry is just standing there and doing nothing while the villain slow walks away, where barry could just run after him and tie him up in like 1 second. And there's times where Barry can sometimes seize common robbers within seconds and have them tied up before they know what's happening. Then there's that time barry takes a person from a car and relocated them to the cop car while it's going. And then we have barry not doing anything every time a villain is escaping, when barry can literally perceive things happening slower faster than everyone else. Which should mean 90% of the Flash villains should be caught in the very episode they appear in, but it never happens.
So in the end, Barry's powers change to fit the plot and that is not Ok.

Yeah, except Thrawn letting rebels get away got him the location of the rebel base and he managed to obliterate rebellion and delay it for 4 more years. The fear you see in them in Rogue One, that's all Thrawn's doing, because rebels were ready to fight the Empire full on and got their asses handed to them.

I actually enjoyed season 3 savitar looked cool and the fact he was invisible to the eye was pretty epic, I also enjoyed his arm blades.
Man this last episode has me hanging on by a thread barely watching whole episodes now. CW has to many shows going on and quality is lacking.

I say it often, I'll say it again. WALLY should have been Savitar. They built up the frustration of being a new speedster along Barry, failing to prevent his new sister's death, AND his future self was disabled primarily due to SHOCK at who Savitar was.......Oh, and not to mention, Savitar's whamy trick was something something philosopher's stone in the speed force and Wally, emotionally hurt, recklessly throws it in there, causing him to disintigrate shouting, "Help me Barry!!" As the Speed God crawls out of the hole....URGGH. I felt so disappointed.
I honestly loved season 4 of the show as sure there are it’s problems but I really like The Thinkerer, The Elongated Man, and most of the stories, like Barry in prison and every story around Ralph.
I for my part liked every main villain up to season 5, at least the potential I saw when they came up. Season 6&7 I couldn't get myself to watch them because of how I disliked the previous seasons at the end.
Reverse-Flash : Well he ist the by far best villain in my oppinion. Not only did his story gets so close connected with the story of the hero, he also comes back from time to time and is at that moment by far the biggest threat. Even the current main villain needs to be but aside for him, so big is he. And the last good point is how his power at the start was set up to be impacted by how powerfull our hero is. Essentialy he is always on a similar powerlevel as the Flash, our hero, and only expirience or help from someone else is the major factor when they clash.
Zoom : He is a really good villain to the very end. And what I liked the most at him was how the speedforce gets more into the spotlight, as well how Speedster generaly work. Its great. Combined with the very dark theme he had, it was great.
But the by far best point for me was how he became black flash, now working as one of those time wraiths he tryed to escape from the whole season.
Savitar : I personaly didn't really mind having a third speedster. Mainly because of the difference between the three.
Savitar was set up to be a speedster or force of natur like thing that is so powerfull, it comes only if you are powerfull enough for him to be able to notice you. And every time he shows up he just destroyes every other Speedster, showing us even at the first battle with the flash how he is in super speed, while the flash is in super speed.
So while our hero has reached a speed so far above every other speedster we had encountered so far, this god is so fast that he appears in super speed while our hero is in his own super speed. Thats just so good that I still go back to that point from time to time, just to re-live that moment again.
But here comes the bad thing that put me down at the end. Him beeing a future version of our hero, while also beeing this legendary thing and god like speedster, just doesn't work. They should had let him be a god of speed, some ancient or something else that had no connection with our hero except that he got strong enough to get the attention of the mentioned god.
And instead of him becoming the only real villain for so long, more focus on the cult around his most loyal sevant, Alchemist, and how they wanted to completely summon Savitar. And so every time they prepared a way to permamently summon him to our world, Team Flash stopped it and he only comes for a limited time. And after every encounter, they try something out to speed up Barry. Even if it is a temporary boost. But he never gets a chance to even see the victory, but the enemys get it. They summon him and so the Flash must survive until the rest of the team has set up a reverse ritual and banishes him.
At the End Savitar is still somewhere out there but he is stopped for now because Alchemist was taken out. But that doesn't mean thats the last time we saw him, effectively giving him the same Status as the others two Speedster before.
Thinker : And here comes a really great enemy. And the reveal so early on but with our hero so powerless to stop him immediately, just because the villain uses the justice system the hero wants to protect against the hero is so great.
And because of the great scene with him going throught the base with all the powers he had, I can't really say something agains the idea of him wanting additional powers for his plan.
Coming to that point, the plan isn't really a good one. Instead of making everyone stupid to teach them the right way, simply control over everyone to stop all the evil all the people cause would be a much better thing. He believes he does something good, just with evil actions. And because of the justice system the hero supports they are forced into the talking parts. While the Thinker uses different ways to get other villains to fight against Flash so he can collect the powers he wants without him knowing. And only very late they discover that, but he is already so powerfull that he can't simply defeat him immediately anymore.
Elastic Man was good in my eyes so we can let him stay. And his power is in fact a good counter to have against the Flash so that is still good. But what I wouldn't let happen is the whole actor switching with that machine/ chair/ whatever. The actor is really great as the Thinker and has the right look for it. Don't take it away from him to give it to other actors who didn't look like the Thinker.
And for the finish goal, have all work together to make a plan to disrupt him very slightly in a way he couldn't notice it. Oh and don't say even once his original power is knowledge. Intelligence is a good choice but not knowledge. Because the Thing with the intelligence is, if he didn't has all the informations he can make misstakes. And there the team shots at him. But if he gets knowlegde he can't be defeated. Because he knows already what the heroes are doing and just does the actions he needs to do for his win at the end. It also would fit better with his Name. Thinker as his evil name is just way more thinking and not remembering. Not to mention how similar the words Thinker and thinking are, or not?

Really I have no Idea how to write his name and I have no interest in learning it.
He was interesting at first because we knew from the very beginning when he would vanish forever. And now we get clearly told that this villain was the last one to encounter our hero before he vanishes. So all in all I was in it. But his power wasn't realy that interesting for me. But I guess it makes sense he would be able to kill our Flash with his counter ability to everyone around him.
But sadly I don't see much more bejond what we had. If it is possible to make it better, I don't know how.
As a final word I would like to point out I am not a pro writer or anything like that. And I am not native english speaking so its very possible for me to have some errors in all that text above. But I hope I at least got everything clear enough so all the ones who read this comment know what I intent to tell.

One of the biggest problems with the show is that they fail to limit themselves for example we see flash catch small time villains off guard and easily beat them. Heck sometimes we even see the flash use the power dampening cuffs in super speed. Yet he fails to do so, SO MANY TIMES. Sometimes villains just teleport whenever they catch the flash off guard so they can be used in a different scene. one of the biggest problems with the writing is the flash is given so many over powered abilities and barely uses any of them he could easily use flash time and hand cuff most of the non speedster characters. Though most of the time when flash fights a meta he stops to talk to them and waits for them to use their power it’s like the anime rule where you never attack someone during their transformation. Maybe doing it the first time with a new meta isn’t bad but he does it REPEATEDLY.
Season 3 wasn’t that bad.
I think the thing with Legends of Tomorrow is...all of those wacky changes to the timeline were actually not changes and were always how it happened, so that's why it doesn't mess things up as often.

Honestly I like Season 3 more than Season 1. The Harrison Wells/Reverse Flash build-up is epic, but the insanity of Seasons 2 and 3 were preferrable over everyone's "favorite." After that though I think it went downhill. With Season 4 they made it less serious, but were also trying to break up the formula a bit. The problems noticeable weren't accepted at all though. Instead of learning from mistakes, they kept any and all and made them 100x worse in Season 5. It and 7 are just atrocious. The first half of Season 6 I'd argue is actually good "the bloodwork/pre-crisis arc" but the rest is trash.

I only liked 3 season because iris would die. The moment H.R died I couldn't watch anymore.
For me The Flash ended with Barry sacrificing himself going to the Speed Force in order to repair his mistakes by creating Flashpoint and Savitar as a consequence. That season 3 ending feels like a definitive finale to the whole show. I'm gonna stuck with the first 3 seasons and pretend the other never happened, so the "WE ARE THE FLASH" and Speed Force Lightsabers bullshit never came across.

Season 1, 2, 3, 5 Nora and reverseflash storyline and 6a were really good and some episodes of season 7 are good even though the seasons not over yet.

The Time Travel thing sounds confusing but I heard a great explanation for it. Can't remember if it was in the show or some Flashpoint media.
Essentially this is how it goes:
When you run faster than the speed of sound, you create a Sonic Boom.
A Speedster altering the timeline, Creates a Time Boom.
This effect ripples through time, forward and backwards from the point you changed.
This ripple effect will cause changes to events near randomly.
This is how Superman landed in Metropolis instead of Kansas, even tho he should have landed before Nora died etc

I'm not going to try to explain the science behind time dilation and how it all works (I really couldn't, although I understand it enough to get the gist), but if you exceed the speed of light, you travel back in time. We have no known way of doing that, but the mathematical models show that's how it works.
I feel bad for Grant Gustin. He’s a great actor and deserves to play a Flash who isn’t trash.
The thing about time travel in terms of the Flash is that if you change the past, it’s gonna have effects on the timeline. They might not be big changes like Flashpoint, it could just be small thing that happen, like Cisco’s brother dying or John and Lyla’s son instead of daughter. You can’t make time the same as before, because no matter what you do, you can’t play God and put everything as it was before. It’ll be like it was but with small, unimportant changes overall

Ok, so I have a theory about the whole Flash timetravel vs Legends timetravel. So, in Legends two things are established, that changes to the timeline take time to cement, and that time "wants to happen" or as I understand it, the timeline gravitates towards certain events, which are much harder to change. My theory is that Flash took too long to correct his actions, thus allowing this new timeline to cement, and as a result, when he went back and changed things back, the timeline that formed wasnt the original, but rather a look-alike of it. Meanwhile, with the legends, I think that as long as a change is small enough, the timeline will course correct so long as no major change has been made, thus negating any sort of butterfly effect. Barry's Flashpoint was far too big of a change to course correct, and rippled out throughout every life that Barry has influenced, meanwhile the Legend's changes are small enough to be course corrected or their changes dont have any major worldshaking impacts on the past, for instance saving that tribe is more or less a footnote in history, sure, some people's lives were impacted, but in the grand scheme of things, its a drop in the bucket
