For that price point, i would probably get the GX 550.
They are gorgeous. When I venture down that road I just tell me self to get a 2020/21 LX570 though for less bc I don’t need the smaller size for off-roading
For just a bit more money I’d go GX550 Overtrail over Land Cruiser. I think that’s the true new “Land Cruiser”
I didn't expect to like the Land Cruiser but that looks nice!
land cruiser is really an updated FJ
That Land Cruiser looks great, but at $70,000+ I go for the V6 in Lexus GX.
I'm hearing real world mpg on the LC is not that high. Any comments? I've heard 18-19mpg is more realistic. I'm curious because the tacoma iforce max should be similar, when it comes out this summer
Someone already tested I force max taco 19 mpg 🤣these new tacos are a joke. Daily motor did it I think. That’s the same mpg as the V6 turbo raptor.
I’m impressed with the visual appeal of the LC interior as well as the second row room, and trizone climate.
However the exterior is hideous, especially compared to the GX550 which is just a little more costly. Looks are just an opinion though.
As for the taco - I’ve seen a dozen in person. They are gorgeous inside and out but very cramped when I sit inside at 6’ 1”.
For the price of any if them though…I’d have to market myself for a gently used 2022/23 GX460 or 2020-21 LX570 for peace of mind and being worth the cost.
Also a personal note, I don’t off-road or have to worry about winter roads so that is a determining factor for many folks also.
I think the straps are to stop the mud flaps from getting pulled up into the tire when reversing in deep snow etc.
But producing the high horsepower with a four cylinder like the GM and Ford trucks puts reliability at risk. Toyota wanted a better performing truck than the 3rd generation Tacoma but also wanted to keep the reliability of the Toyota. The hybrid system adds much to the performance without compromising the reliability. The glaring issue is the cost however. I chose the TRD Off-road pickup with the Premium package, non hybrid version and with the dealer discount paid just over $50,000.
My bad on this (but wanted to leave it up so ppl can see our conversation) Sucks you guys won't call out Toyota for the overpriced vehicles because you don't want to lose your privilege to go out testing their new vehicles you should be on the consumer side not the manufacturer's side
Man that’s a lot of criticism for a couple of guys that are on the consumer side. We purchased the Tacoma with our coin. We have a honest and open relationship with Toyota. Are they expensive? Yes. But so is everything else in the market. All of them. It is hard for us to criticize one brand for inflation when it’s the whole market. All that being said, we hear you, and we don’t like it either. Thanks for watching.
@@TexasTruckChannel okay you're right that was pretty harsh and rude but we got to do something to get these manufacturers Head Right Toyota is horrible tho, and I understand what predicament you're in because you do want to test out the newer vehicles & you're doing your best. But 65K on the trailhunter is crazy prices and I do watch your videos and always leave a thumbs up for you guys
Hey we appreciate that. And 65k is ALOT. We really hope that the market starts to correct the supply and demand balance. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, we appreciate genuine feedback for all!
Yup you’re 100% correct straight frauds!!
Did you guys ever find out if the cruiser can run pff 87?
I appreciate the lack of tire shine during your presentation. 😄
For overlanding, the Tacoma wins only in the price and cargo capacity because it has a bed. The Land Cruiser beats it in every other category.
Love the LC 250.
FE 5000. Builds so is it that hard to get one ? ...2:18. $76825 now add the $10k mark up 10% tax lic and bs what ever the dealer wants to charge for doc fee, final delivery price $95000k ? did see one dealer ion the San Jose /sfo Bay Area area $97k plus fees
Other markets in the world that actually use these things the way they were intended get a 3rd row option on the Land Cruiser... and for some inane reason, Toyota refuses to offer it here for the Land Cruiser. Big miss.
It’s because of the battery that sits below where the third row seats would go. The US only has the option for the IForce Max hybrid setup and the foreign markets get the Diesel option without a hybrid battery system.
Same engine different fuel grades? Very interesting
Same engine, different fuel grades? Very interesting.
At the price of the Land Cruiser, you can buy a really nice Tundra!
People wanting a landcruiser dont need a tundra.
Why, most people with pickups never use the pickup bed. Are too afraid to scratch it.
Or a loaded 4Runner and 5 years of gas (non premium)
I don't like pickups and I love the LC so what you are saying is just your personal preference
@@rickyaz8640Same engine as the LC so probably have Premium Gas as at least a recommendation.
Why compare an SUV with a truck?
They are the same frame I think. Possibly same engine too. Not 100% certain tho.
Toyota released them and a lot of buyers are trying to decide between them.
If these prices are accurate on the LC250, then you're better off getting the Lexus GX550. You get much more for your money and the quality that Lexus brings with its superior interior appointments. The LC250 here is a letdown at that price point.
What is the payload on the hybrid taco? Those batteries weigh a lot.
1200 for trd pro 1250ish for trailhunter. Seems like everything doublecab is 1200.
@@beexiong2995🤡 numbers. Worst payload of the big three by a few hundred lbs. you’d be better off getting a trail boss over trail hunter and saving $20k. My loaded maverick has 1410lbs payload 😂. No payload, crappy mpg what are we doing here?
@@marklihsu the maverick bed is too small for 1400lbs anyway. Unlesd you plan to stuff some large ladies in the inside 😂

Is this a pre-production press model?
Nope
I think they are being delivered at the moment. Some dealerships already have it.
They are production vehicles as far as I know.
It's a Prado for $76000USD. Toyota must think we're all idiots! I'm sure that they'll find 20-30 thousand idiots per year so good on them! :) In Australia the 2023 Prado GXL (top of the line trim) cost $74K Aus ($48500 USD). This represents a $28000 increase / difference in price!!! We in North America must all truly be morons if we're going to keep supporting this level of robbery by car manufacturers!
For all of you that will say that this is cheaper than the outgoing LC200 in the US, please remember that the replacement for the LC200 is the LC300 (not available here) and not the Prado (250).
A real land cruiser has a V8. Toyota must think we’re idiots to try and fool us with this downgrade. Not even the tundras V6 but a turbo 4 banger 😂 the new taco doesn’t have a sealed hybrid system if this shares the same build don’t take your new land cruiser you know off roading into some water past 26” I think is what the master tech said or else you’re going to have issues with your electrical systems. Like all the new tacos these things are just mall hunters.
Who can afford these new OVERPRICED trucks & SUVs? Ain't no fun if nobody can afford em
Very expensive, your typical chev and ranger owner wont have to spend extra mula on their trucks because they dont overland.
Good vehicles, but if you look closely they not as reliable as people make them out to be.
Toyota is very gpod at keeping quiet about issues on there cars.
You guys really buying these expensive vehicles?
Oh heck no, not on our budget! The Tacoma we have purchased with equity from a previous vehicle. The Land Cruiser was loaned to us by Toyota to make this video.
@@TexasTruckChannel I still can’t believe Toyota Thinks consumers will be able to afford these prices
Toyotas prices have increased over 19% the last two and a half years.
I thinks it’s their plan - when buying slows down - they will have to discount - and the discount price will be their real target selling msrp. 😂
Four banger junk
Might as well just sell the 300 series if they’re going to charge that much for a prado
Waiting for the 4Runner vs Land Cruiser
