Thank you man. I was so confused with laptop connectivity and literally every single video on TH-cam mentioned desktop only. You are life saver. Just picked up PSVR2 yesterday and can’t wait to try it with Half-Life Alyx.
Yeah, I know that's why i made the video. Did not find any info or nothing, had to figure it out and even bought the wrong cable myself. I wanted to make sure nobody made the same mistake that i did, so i am glad it helped all you peeps out. Thanks for your support. 🙂
Thanks bro your the only person in TH-cam that answered my fucking question about the display port you are goated I’m so stoked to play half life alyx !!!now if you’ll excuse me I have about hundred dollars worth of cables I need to return to Best Buy 🤣
Yeah, was crazy couldn't find any info about it, even baught the wrong cable myself in the beginning. Glad it helped you out and thanks for your support. 🙂
Yeah, I was surprised nobody actually gave any info about it, had to figure it out the hard way, bought the wrong cable in the beginning myself. I am glad it helped you out and thanks for your support. 🙂
hey im planning on getting the psvr 2 with the pc adapter but im worried it might not work on my acer predator laptop, it has 2 thunderbolt 4 ports and a rtx 4060, also i made sure to disable my integrated cpu graphics in my bios so my rtx 4060 is my main gpu, and also made sure i have the same cable you used for the display port
It should work with all rtx series, but you might get some frame issues with high end VR games, like No Man's Sky or something. Hope this helps and thanks for watching. 🙂
Thanks for the video. I got it running on my HP Victus 15.9 with an RTX 4060, but booting the apps, it seems to be using the integrated GPU. SteamVR Home just fades away without being able to interact, and Alyx boots up but told me my graphics card didn't meet the minimum. I tried going into the Nvidia control panel and changing performance profile to high-performance Nvidia card for Alyx, Steam, SteamVR, the PSVR2 app, but still runs terribly. Any ideas?
I have a similar problem I dont have the usbc with D icon. It works but then I dont see what Im playing in the headset. Just seeing it on laptop. It might be it.. but i have spent money and imma find a way to work it out
Yeah, the problem is they say it should work with all rtx cards, but that's for pc, Laptop's are always weaker then Desktops do. I do think if it's a high end game you might struggle if the card is not strong enough. Also make shure your drivers are up to date, your Mux Switch is on Discreet Graphics, your laptop is in Performance mode and try to overclock your drivers as mutch as you can. Hope this helps and thanks for watching. 🙂
I got everything set up but when I go to final step to "Connect your VR headset" and I turn on the headset and go to hit "Next" i get an error that says, "Check Displayport connection. The displayport cable is not connected...(etc.)" The USB-C port on my laptop does NOT have that "DP" symbol tho 😔I am SUPER bummed... I have LITERALLY waited YEARS to play HL Alyx. Guess it's not gonna happen until i get a NEWER laptop. Anyone have any suggestions? Maybe the GCard on the HPlaptop is weak?
Probably, should check the specs on google for your laptop connections. Thunderbolt also works and it should work on most nvidia graphics cards. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Probably, but you should check your for your hardware connections on the internet for your laptop. Thunderbolt also works and it should work on most nvidia graphics cards. Thanks 4 watching. 🙂
I have Samsung Galaxy book 4 ultra RTX 4070. 2 usb C thunderbolt 1 Hdmi and 1 usb A port. I recently bought the adapter and now i am confused if i should purchase the hdmi to DP adapter or DP to C cable ?? Please help
If you have a thunderbolt connection which is a usbc port with a charger/lighting symbol and it should have the letter D as well then you would need to buy a USB-C TO display port 1.4 cable . I chose the belkin brand for 40 bucks it works like a charm
Yeah, you should look for a thunderbolt connection. You can also search on the internet, for the specs for your model and check the hardware connections it has. Thanks for watching. 🙂
No if you have one with thunderbolt it should work to, forgot to mention that. If not check what your laptop uses to connect to multiple displays, but not your hdmi that's just for 1 diplay. You should have a displayport somewhere if it is a gaming laptop.

You might be the GOAT. I was getting an hdmi to displayport... canceled it. Got that cord. Have the D logo.
EDIT: It totally worked, thanks a ton.

You need to have it in a D or Thunderbolt also works. If it doesn't have one of those it probably won't work. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Thanks!!
No problem, glad it helped and thanks for watching the vid. 🙂

you need the DP to Type C cable. the type c end will go to your type c thunderbolt port on the laptop and the DP end goes into the PSVR2 adapter.
Indeed, it should work with thunderbolt. I forgot to mention that in the video. Thanks for watching. 🙂
Thanks for your support. 🙂
