I believe I’ve turned into a Paul Wilson disciple! I had a great day on the range using your 2/3 swing with my wedges, irons, hybrid, & driver. I reviewed your Swing Machine book again, especially the grip chapter & grip pressure, thanks Paul for great guidance for senior golfers! 💪👍t
Paul Wilson Golf Lesson 1 talks about the grip, but it didn’t talk about the pressure applied. But in Lesson 4 on the follow-through (page 61) it states, “Make sure you are using the neutral grip as described in lesson 1, and keep your grip pressure at 2 out of 10, where 10 is tightest.” When I applied this approximately 2 pressure, I can feel a heavier club head. When I got a tighter grip pressure with my driver & didn’t notice, my ball fight was going right. After lightening my grip pressure, my drives started towards my desired direction!
taking the arms out of the swing, a rotational swing with loose wrists and firing the legs and hips....this has made my golf swing so much better and so much simpler than other methods. Thanks Paul. The Body Swing should be the gold standard of golf instruction.

Glad you tried it. Some things take time to master. This is a huge part of the swing so keep doing it and in no time you will get the feel and be able to incorporate it into your swing.
I used this a year or so ago pre pandemic and I hit the ball pure!! But since I haven't played nor practiced in a year I needed this drill again.. on my way to the range now!! Thank u Paul Wilson ❤️ bc I believe this will get me back to single digits again!!!
This the best drill. It works perfectly. I saw this video couple weeks ago and went to driving to practice then went to play on the course. I hit much much better. Thank you so much Paul!
I played to a 6 handicap in my younger days but dropped the game and played very little over the past 10 years. COVID put me back on the course and the results had been frustrating. I found this video and started the drill last Sunday. The drill also exposed a swing flaw. Anyway, some practice and went out and played today - 78 from the champ tees and actually felt like I had an idea where the ball was going to go. Great drill with real results and thank you.

No Paul , I’ve been in the 100’s and mid 90’s, but with your exercises I broke into the 80’s this week, I’m sure with your help I’ll be in the low 80’s soon. Thx so much.
Great video. Definitely key to keep wrists loose or they won't set into that fully hinged position. But at same time need to maintain structure in the arms in the backswing and on the downswing turn the arms off. If you can do it this is exactly what he is demonstrating. He is right it is not intuitive but helped me greatly.
Practising on the range with a driver i hit nineteen out of twenty shots dead straight but the distance isn’t that significant, this drill changes things because of the different plane,i do the excercise you advocate Paul then go to a normal swing on the grip proper but keeping your swing thought in my mind,it works wonders, one of your best lessons ever Paul, many thanks.
Tried that Paul,i have an adage that i have bastardised but is so relevant to the swing," "He who hesitates is (not) lost".That hesitation at the commencement of the down swing is the catalyst,it can be the difference between a shot to behold or conversely a disaster. In your wisdom Paul, why is it that i can drive balls all day and yet the three wood has trouble even getting distance let alone height,i've even resorted to playing the driver off the deck for second shots on par fives?
Hey this drill works. I just could not loosen up to let the arms and wrists respond to the body turn. But this drill made it happen. I can actually hit balls better, farther and more consistently this way. It feels loose and very wristy. Cannot transition this looseness to a regular full swing yet. But it's only been 2 buckets so far. Thanks Paul.
Just saw this comment. Louder swoosh is great. You are on your way. Do these 2 drills daily and in a month you will be killing it: th-cam.com/video/SfIM2GWj9Cs/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/hJeAcEYbvhM/w-d-xo.html
Glad you found me. Nothing worse than your handicap going up not down. Now you are on your way so keep working on it. Do tons of practice swings at home daily if you can't get to the range. It's all about repetition.
Glad you like them. Thanks. Will be posting more in the summer. Just waiting for the course to green up. Takes effort for sure but I want people to get it.
If you are sore you are whacking away with your arms. This will never work. Until you turn them off you will always be in pain. I have helped countless people play pain free. Just have to follow my technique.
Just FYI. 60 years old. Just started golfing again after 7 years off so to illness. Was not hitting anything solid. Just hit a bucket max drive was 250! Most in the 220 range but swinging 60 to 70%. My swing tempo mantra is “Hinge…..unhinge.” Works wonders! Thank you so much for your videos! Hope to play a real round this spring. Jon
That's great. So glad you are doing well. It's great when you see that you can do it. Your mantra is the right one. If loose, it will generate the speed. Then you connect it to your body. Keep at it. You will get excited and want more. That's fine but be sure to use your legs harder not your arms.
Because no one teaches what I do. I see the swing differently that most others. I also think about it from the perspective of the student and what you are actually going to understand, be able to do and want to do.
hello Paul, thank you very much for your great video sequences on TH-cam. I was already a friend of the relaxed golf swing. Thanks to your instructions, I was able to improve a lot, in particular by using my hips, I was able to generate a few additional meters in my golf shots. Another nice effect is the incredulous look of my golf colleagues, apparently gaining more distance by slowing down. The funniest comment about my swing: "He no longer exerts himself when hitting the golf ball and still laughs when he hits it!" I recommend you very often and more and more other golfers trust in your body swing! Thanks and keep it up Paul
That's funny. It's a great feeling when people start commenting on your effortless power. That's how you know you are on track. Keep up the good work. Thank you for the promo to others. I appreciate the help.
I will def try this, Paul. Seems like it has helped a number of people. I lose the iron grip at the top and have no chance of hitting it well. I am going to try the neutral grip you espouse and hit a large bucket choked down. If all goes well, I may play on Sat.... Thank you for the instruction!
@@paulwilsongolf I hit the large bucket with choke down. I saw results very quickly. Thank you for the lesson and I will try the tee as well. I took a much more neutral grip than previously. I thought I had to have a strong grip to really hit solidly. I was surprised at the contact I had after trying your instruction - very solid. Again - thank you, Paul!
Not sure what that means. You tried something new and didn't break 90? Sometimes you need to work on things and sometimes they are so new a different you are not good at it so you play worse. Just keep doing it. In no time you will be breaking 90 again then if you keep working on my stuff you will break 80.
Wished I'd seen this a year go, was taught to have a strong grip......hooking everything!!. Now grip is looking better, and practice the hinge in my practice swing.
Simple and VERY EFFECTIVE. Worked on this for a half hour, using a 7 iron and a driver, just to get a feel for the effects of a longer club on the hinging feeling. And, yes, I adjusted my grip to get the heel of the palm in the left hand, just like you suggested. That drill really simplifies my swing. I think it removed about three different parts that I was using, to little effect. Full swing with just letting the hands hinge freely is smooth and requires much less grunt to do it. Thanks, Paul. Best tip I've had in years. I'll keep at it, too.
Hi Paul, I tried this and I found that when I made contact, it felt really good but the distance was not there. I am in Canada and all our ranges and courses are currently closed but will give it another go. I now just swing at the park with no ball and have started taking a divot on most swings. As soon as the range opens, I will sign up for the coach link. I am putting in a lot of effort and it's a complete change for me so I hope it works.
Keep in mind this is a piece of the swing. It's the arm unit. This is then attached to your body which is coiling and uncoiling. This coiling and uncoiling is where the power comes from. So if your wrists are loose and you don't have power then you need to start firing the lower body way harder. Do this drill daily now too: th-cam.com/video/x1NehGi8tyI/w-d-xo.html
Just about to go back playing golf after a year off, too much work commitments. Will definitely be trying this for the next couple of weeks before I go back playing 👍
Well you just explained what I did on a couple of par 3's last weekend. I was taught a strong grip years ago and have held onto that until now. I'm going all in PW (chips to the center of the table). LOL. Here we go....
Beautiful looking course!!!!I would give my first born to get off the tee box!!!Im always the worst in our foursome, pretty deflating. Usually its either a dribbler or baaaad slice. Thx for videos, cant wait to try.
Yes, it's a great view. Driver is simple. I can get you killing it but you need to follow the steps. Right now you are trying to hit it too hard with the arms. If the face is open you have the wrong spin. So you need to fix that first. Curing slices in minutes is one of my specialties. Just need to see and understand what's happening. If you are slicing the face is open. This means you are not allowing it to rehinge. In other words with driver you are trying to hit it too hard and tightening your wrists. See the wrists as a hinge. They hinge ... they rehinge. Hopefully, you are doing my neutral grip. Then do this drill and watch the face: th-cam.com/video/OFJOLBSXSfQ/w-d-xo.html Then roll it from the top and get it consistently hooking (this is step 1): th-cam.com/video/8ro_1NYPd8c/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/GnQ2FfdQBDo/w-d-xo.html Once you can consistently hook it, you start to add body to straighten it out (step 2). To do that, you can use this trigger: th-cam.com/video/RdphthCQ9VM/w-d-xo.html So simple. Watch how as I can cure slicers in the 2 video on this page. If interested, you can pick up my cure your slice video: www.paulwilsongolf.com/cure-slice
Good stuff Paul. It wasn't until I read "The Golf Swing" by Chris Riddoch did this concept really sink in. It was his description: passive wrists. This was the light bulb moment.
It’s also a good anti hitting drill in that by hinging and rehinging through the hitting area the swing moves the club head through, not stopping at the ball. I use it like a waggle.
Paul...just started doing this in combination with your " right cheek, left cheek " drill. I'm sure you will agree that getting those down is 90%of the complete swing ! BTW....tried to get on the " coachlink" page but it didn't work. Thanks !
Glad you tried it. Couple simple but effective thoughts there to get you going for sure. Not doing CoachLink anymore. I would have thought if you could be in direct contact with me anytime you want people would be all over it. Guess not. Makes me wonder why I even do half of the stuff I do.
Hey Paul - could you maybe talk about how to keep a square face at impact while keeping the wrists loose? Apologies if you’ve addressed this in another video and I missed it!
Simple physics of mass swinging around an axis. Think kid on a swing set. Pull them back and let go. If so, the kid comes through square to the top beam. Now the kid goes back and moves their knees side to side. If so they never come through square. The kid is the club, the chains are your arms. Do nothing to influence the club. This is what I figured out and it got my swing back after 10 years of trying everything. I did a tip on it here: th-cam.com/video/jjiXrGLkqj0/w-d-xo.html listen carefully to what I say in this tip. Some are not good listeners.
the key is to apply force to both the left side and the right side of the shaft with the left hand. and swinging back from the follow thru position is crucial to this. it even conditions you to position the left side of your head correctly. and the reverse L position, thatyou demonstrate, is a good place to start.
Great that you see that you can do it. For more power though you need to get the lower body firing harder/quicker. Do these 2 drills if you want to go big: th-cam.com/video/SfIM2GWj9Cs/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/hJeAcEYbvhM/w-d-xo.html
In order to apply this move I felt like my wrist were very loose and I noticed that my elbows stayed lower and more connected on both sides of the swing almost like Ben Hogan. Definitely hitting longer and more solid using this technique. Does what I said make sense?
Hi Paul, can I alternately use my driver, 5 and 7 to practice this drill? Or should I stick to just one club all through out? You have totally changed my perspective in how a golf swing should be. I bought your SMG book 7 yrs ago. I did not take it seriously. Now, the book is out again from the shelves. I watched and listened to hundreds of golf instructors on YT and I can conclude you are the best!
Thanks. Glad you are back. You can use any club. I prefer when people are working on their swing to do so with a 7 iron. It's a middle club not too short not too long.
Paul....another great video. Question: It appears to me you have a small float loading action in your swings. Am I seeing this correctly? If so, do you advocate it? Thanks.
Hello Paul - I understand what you are teaching but loose wrists for me seem to lead to being 'too wristy" at impact. Can you discuss on a future video. My swing plane is good, but I tend to "pull" 8, 9, wedge shots - even 7. It's because of my wrist action.
You are not pulling it because of your wrist action. You are pulling it because you are moving your arms before your body. Watch and apply this: th-cam.com/video/BZD0_jPL8ks/w-d-xo.html Also watch: th-cam.com/video/dw8mMH7Cr4Q/w-d-xo.html The looser you are the more you are allowing simple physics to square the face very consistently with no twisting. If your face was actually closed you would be pull hooking it not just pulling it. The pull has the face square to the path. This is a direction problem. Body affects direction. So get your body moving and you will hit it straight. You'll see.
Paul, I enjoy your videos very much especially on the grip and loose wrists. Helped me a lot!! What's your take on flat-wrists versus cupped at the top of the swing? I cup my wrists but gives me a good rhythm to uncoil, shift the weight and compress the ball. I manage to square the club face back at impact and hit well. Now I am trying to flatten my wrists and definitely struggling to get back into the same rhythm but when I get some shots right, they go long effortlessly with a nice small draw. What's your recommendation? Looking forward for your feedback!
@@paulwilsongolf Thanks Paul! That video was awesome!! I am going to go back to my comfort (slightly cupped at the top) position. Thanks again for the great advice 🙂. Next goal is to break 80 :-)
Hey Paul, I'm really loving your content after I found out about you! One quick question I have: I totally understand the loose wrists and how it helps club head speed. One thing for me is I've been working hard over the last several months to not "flip" the club. I had a tendency to stand up at impact and cause a lot of hitting with my hands. How do I not revert to that when loosening my wrists this way? I really am working on trying to bring my ball flight down and not add loft. Practicing today I felt a bit of my flip coming back.
Glad you found me. Flipping is simple to fix. Fire your body way way way harder. This will move the widest point after impact. Watch and think about what I just said as you are watching it: th-cam.com/video/gMVs6SZNBIQ/w-d-xo.html
@@paulwilsongolf Awesome! I will definitely try to fire my body WAY harder and think of this "Y" after impact. Really appreciate you and your willingness to help! Your bunker lesson has been an absolute wonder in my game!
You want slight cupping at the top relative to a 2 knuckle grip position. I talk about it in this tip: th-cam.com/video/uRWI8Mhnsa8/w-d-xo.html If you grip the club across the left palm you won't over cup. So follow my grip tip here: th-cam.com/video/jQZLp8bF-Ww/w-d-xo.html
The Body Swing is similar but different. Those who have both say they compliment each other. The body swing incorporates more short cuts and different answers to the tens of thousands of questions I received over the years. It is more how I teach students who come to me for lessons now meaning it's even more simple.
Great videos. Q: Do you recommend a flexible (whippy) club for warmup; or swinging butt-to-butt with a 7-iron ? Would you ever recommend using a flexible warmup club?
Paul at 8:25 when you swing one handed when the club is about to rehinge it appears the left hand bends back on itself, I don’t want to say flip.. Maybe a hitch hiking motion. ...lol, I hope I’m not making this more difficult then it supposed to be...All your tips are great
It's rehinging. All of this flipping talk is mind boggling. This is cause by using your arms. Here I am showing hinging and rehinging. This is a piece of the swing. This arm unit is connected to your body. As you fire the body the widest point moves ahead of the ball thus no flip. Work on the pieces. Get the hinging and rehinging. Then connect it to coiling and uncoiling.
just ran into a buddy of mine last Thursday, he got a lesson from his pro who told him to stop breaking his wrists. He's a new man, playing great, dropped 8-10 strokes off his game, just like that. Still hits it far enough. 'Nuff said.
I know this drill works, so just saying that somebody doesnt do it and plays better is such a random thing to say. Was he letting go of the golf club? Why does every pro hinge their wrists? Why do you hinge your wrists to throw a ball? Easiest thing to do is try this drill...then don't hinge your wrists and see what is better. I know which one is.
@@paulwilsongolf he previously had a quite wristy swing. The only random thing was my seeing this video and my just having played with a friend who had made a change. This appears to be a great drill which I am going to use.
I certainly do and I do remote video coaching too with my new app CoachLink. My lesson pricing his on my site: paulwilsongolf.com just let me know if you can make it in the futuure.
Paul, is this little “drill” swing the same swing we should use for short game shots, like a half or 3/4 wedge shot? Or is there something else you do with those shots? I’m really curious to know how far out from the green the hinge-and-rehinge concept continues to be applicable. Personally, for those short little pitch and chip shots around the green, I like to keep the hands and wrists quiet and hit them with my legs and body. The ones I have trouble with are those nasty ones from 30 to 50 yards. I’d really like to know how you play those shots. Thanks, and a big thank you for all the great vids you’ve posted over the past few weeks. Really great stuff! 👍
Good drill. The question I have is should I deliberately set my wrists vs naturally hinge? Obvious natural is what I want but what if I don’t consistently hinge?

Paul Wilson Golf Lesson 1 talks about the grip, but it didn’t talk about the pressure applied. But in Lesson 4 on the follow-through (page 61) it states, “Make sure you are using the neutral grip as described in lesson 1, and keep your grip pressure at 2 out of 10, where 10 is tightest.” When I applied this approximately 2 pressure, I can feel a heavier club head. You can find out more here: bodyswing.com/coachlink People who have used it are loving it because now they know what to work on. This is not swing analysis. This is live video coaching. Take a look.
I watched Paul do this drill and thought dude that looks so easy. Tried it and completely failed lol... Practicing it now...
Glad you remembered it but into the future just do practice swings at home. If so, you never lose it.
This the best drill. It works perfectly. I saw this video couple weeks ago and went to driving to practice then went to play on the course. I hit much much better. Thank you so much Paul!
Glad it helped. Got to loosen up those wrists for sure. Try to do this one daily.
Great drill. It has made my simplified my swing and my backswing and downswing easer and 100% better. Bob Myrtle Beach, SC. Great lesson.
Thanks. Simple is the key for sure. Plus, loose wrists of course.
Thank you. This one video has helped me to make golf enjoyable again.
Great to hear! This is a simple drill that can be done anywhere. Keep those wrists loose. That's a big key.
I told all my friends that you had nice tips, your welcome.
Thanks so much. I appreciate the support.
Your instruction is the best Ive seen.
Thanks so much. I appreciate it.
Can’t wait to try this. I have extreme tendinitis in my left wrist for swinging with tight wrists. Thank you !!
Yes, that's a problem for sure. In no way should you be in pain playing golf. Stay loose.
I will practice an try this and then go to the next step. Thank you very much.
Very good. This is a huge part of the swing. This is how you get serious power with no effort.
Very good. It's fun when you get it back.
Tried his extending threw the ball today at range ... Excellent tip ...it helped me quite a bit
Glad it helped. This is big for solid shots with more power. Please keep doing it until mastered.
Love the videos. Improved my game by miles
Thanks. I appreciate it.
Thanks for this video Paul, This makes lots of sense and is easy to practice. I am a beginner and find some tutorials confusing.
Glad you liked it. This is a big piece of the swing. Try to do these ones too:

This is one of the most important missing parts of my downswing. Gold! Liked and subscribed. Thank you so much!
Glad you found this one. This is a vital part of the swing. Thanks for the sub. I appreciate it.
No Paul , I’ve been in the 100’s and mid 90’s, but with your exercises I broke into the 80’s this week, I’m sure with your help I’ll be in the low 80’s soon. Thx so much.
That's great news. Great feeling when your handicap is coming down. Confidence is brewing. Keep me posted.
Yes, extended lead arm but loose wrists. This one will help too:
th-cam.com/video/Z8K3Gctkz7A/w-d-xo.html Glad you are doing well.
Glad you tried it and are seeing results. Once you can do it you then work on this drill for more power:
th-cam.com/video/x1NehGi8tyI/w-d-xo.html
Great. You are starting to get the feeling. Just trust this is what you want to feel. After you see enough good shots you will trust it.
this video is very helpful, I can hear a louder swoosh sound with less effort then I do trying to swing fast wtih my wrist tight.
Just saw this comment. Louder swoosh is great. You are on your way. Do these 2 drills daily and in a month you will be killing it:

You are a great teacher Paul
Thanks so much.
Seems like such a simple swing looks so fluid
Simple is the key. Fluid is another key. Glad you picked up on it.
Thanks Paul. I was an 8 and went to not being able to break 90. I quit. Then I discovered your channel and I’m beginning to hit some good shots again.
Glad you found me. Nothing worse than your handicap going up not down. Now you are on your way so keep working on it. Do tons of practice swings at home daily if you can't get to the range. It's all about repetition.
Cheers paul for the taking the time to upload thease tips :)
Glad you like them. Thanks. Will be posting more in the summer. Just waiting for the course to green up. Takes effort for sure but I want people to get it.
Yeah putting up the videos takes effort but youre swing does not:)
I am going to try this at the range today,This seems so much easier on the body. I'm always sore after practicing and playing.
Paul why is no one else teaching this, its so weird, I think its amazing
Because no one teaches what I do. I see the swing differently that most others. I also think about it from the perspective of the student and what you are actually going to understand, be able to do and want to do.
This video needs to go viral.
That would be good.
Thank you Paul. I am going to do this drill. Good video
Glad to help. Do this daily.
your advise really improved my game. thanks
Glad I could help!
hello Paul, thank you very much for your great video sequences on TH-cam.
You need to work on this too: th-cam.com/video/Z8K3Gctkz7A/w-d-xo.html
@@paulwilsongolf I hit the large bucket with choke down. I saw results very quickly. Thank you for the lesson and I will try the tee as well. I took a much more neutral grip than previously. I thought I had to have a strong grip to really hit solidly. I was surprised at the contact I had after trying your instruction - very solid. Again - thank you, Paul!
That's great. Yes, you do not need a strong grip. Neutral is the way to go. Glad you tried it and are seeing results. Keep at it.
Wonderful instruction and clear explanation of this practice swing drill Paul. Thx for helping my golf game!!
Great to hear!
Love the way you present this. Working on it!
Thanks so much. I appreciate it.
GREAT ADVICE PAUL.........GREAT
This is a big part of the swing. Stay focused on it. Get that then it's onto the body coiling and uncoiling.
Used your methods and beat my best score I got an 80 and lipped out a birdie put on 18!! it’s so simple thank for keeping it simple!
Very good. Love hearing it. Now you're on your way. Exciting year ahead for you.
Paul I caught your video last week, and dang if I didn’t break 90 for the first time in months. Thx
Exactly. I try to tell everyone this and they bash me. Glad you see it. Getting rid of that hook is a game changer.
Nice. You are getting there. Big things for you in the future.
You've changed the way I play, Thanks a lot paul.. greeting from Jakarta..
Great to hear!
Another excellent piece, Ty!
Glad you liked it. Thanks.
Great simple and effective drill
Glad you like it! Thanks.
Have fun
Great video paul. Thank you!
Dr D
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks.
Well you just explained what I did on a couple of par 3's last weekend. I was taught a strong grip years ago and have held onto that until now. I'm going all in PW (chips to the center of the table). LOL. Here we go....
Yes, strong is wrong.
th-cam.com/video/ZGayCM8bJ6c/w-d-xo.html
th-cam.com/video/Hh_uALjl_jk/w-d-xo.html
Hi Paul, I think I have been letting go instead of gripping and have loose wrists. Great drill, thanks.
Glad you found it. You need to secure that grip. th-cam.com/video/Z8K3Gctkz7A/w-d-xo.html
Then do this drill and watch the face:
th-cam.com/video/OFJOLBSXSfQ/w-d-xo.html
Then roll it from the top and get it consistently hooking (this is step 1):
th-cam.com/video/8ro_1NYPd8c/w-d-xo.html
th-cam.com/video/GnQ2FfdQBDo/w-d-xo.html
Once you can consistently hook it, you start to add body to straighten it out (step 2). To do that, you can use this trigger:
th-cam.com/video/RdphthCQ9VM/w-d-xo.html
So simple.
Watch how as I can cure slicers in the 2 video on this page. If interested, you can pick up my cure your slice video:
www.paulwilsongolf.com/cure-slice
Thx for replying. Golf is no fun when you are only one who can’t get off tee box. I’m ready this summer.
No doubt. It's amazing how easy it is from the middle of the fairway.
The drill at 3:55 is gold 👍
Everything I post is gold but as for this tip. Yes. Big part of the swing for sure.
Good stuff Paul. It wasn't until I read "The Golf Swing" by Chris Riddoch did this concept really sink in. It was his description: passive wrists. This was the light bulb moment.
Well, thinking of them as a hinge is a pretty simple concept. If you got it another way great. At least you got it.
It’s also a good anti hitting drill in that by hinging and rehinging through the hitting area the swing moves the club head through, not stopping at the ball. I use it like a waggle.
Right. Too many people are trying to hit. In doing so, they are making the ball point B to the swing. The follow through is point B.
It is a wonderful drill for beginners. Can I recommend to new golf players?
For sure. This is good for everyone to allow them to loosen up.
Amazing tips, I’ve been waiting for this for years, thank you Paul
Happy to help! This is a huge part of the swing. Keep doing this one.
Your really good coach Mr PW..
I appreciate that! Thanks for the support.
the key is to apply force to both the left side and the right side of the shaft with the left hand. and swinging back from the follow thru position is crucial to this. it even conditions you to position the left side of your head correctly. and the reverse L position, thatyou demonstrate, is a good place to start.
However you do it you need a secure grip and loose wrists.
@@paulwilsongolf that's just it. when you apply force to the left and right side of the shaft with the left hand it makes the wrists more flexible
That’s another terrific lesson, thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Would love to attend this course. Paul has changed everything for me.
Thanks so much. So glad you help. Let me know if you can make it to town.
Love it! Thanks!
Thanks so much.
What a great teach.
Thank you!
Nice drill
Thanks 👍 Glad you liked it.
Great tip my problem is now solved
Glad I could help
When on the course i flush most shots when wrists are loose ,when not, hit the ball ok but lose some distance accuracy fine
Great that you see that you can do it. For more power though you need to get the lower body firing harder/quicker. Do these 2 drills if you want to go big:
th-cam.com/video/SfIM2GWj9Cs/w-d-xo.html
th-cam.com/video/hJeAcEYbvhM/w-d-xo.html
In order to apply this move I felt like my wrist were very loose and I noticed that my elbows stayed lower and more connected on both sides of the swing almost like Ben Hogan. Definitely hitting longer and more solid using this technique. Does what I said make sense?
Paul, another great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Great info. Thank you so much 🙏
Glad it was helpful!
this drill is awesome
Glad you like it. Thanks.
Thanks.
Never thought about it nor do I care.
Keep in mind I am not trying to hit or help the ball in any way with my arms.
Paul great vids! I am having problems squaring up the club my shots are pushing right. Please help with one of your drills. Thanks
If you are pushing it slow down your lower body, loosen your wrist or turn more (don't shift).
Paul Wilson Golf Thank you Paul for your response and comment, I will practice what you recommend! 👍
Watch and apply this:
th-cam.com/video/BZD0_jPL8ks/w-d-xo.html
Also watch:
th-cam.com/video/dw8mMH7Cr4Q/w-d-xo.html
The looser you are the more you are allowing simple physics to square the face very consistently with no twisting.
Thanks. I appreciate it. DO NOT try to flatten your wrist. I did a tip on the wrist position here: th-cam.com/video/uRWI8Mhnsa8/w-d-xo.html
@@paulwilsongolf Thanks Paul! That video was awesome!! I am going to go back to my comfort (slightly cupped at the top) position. Thanks again for the great advice 🙂. Next goal is to break 80 :-)
I have Dri Tac oversize grips on my clubs do these make it more difficult to use your wrists? PS : Love your teaching methods
Glad you like the tips. Thanks. Those grips will have no effect. th-cam.com/video/Z8K3Gctkz7A/w-d-xo.html
Good idea!
Glad you liked it. Just do it daily in practice swings. Make it a habit.
Watch and think about what I just said as you are watching it:
th-cam.com/video/gMVs6SZNBIQ/w-d-xo.html
@@paulwilsongolf Awesome! I will definitely try to fire my body WAY harder and think of this "Y" after impact. Really appreciate you and your willingness to help! Your bunker lesson has been an absolute wonder in my game!
Very good. Glad you found the bunker tip. This is huge. It will save you a ton of shots and give you a lot of confidence.
Thanks Paul. I am finding the wrist hinging is helping my distance, but I am noticing that cup alot at the top. Can can you comment on this. Thanks
You want slight cupping at the top relative to a 2 knuckle grip position. I talk about it in this tip: th-cam.com/video/uRWI8Mhnsa8/w-d-xo.html If you grip the club across the left palm you won't over cup. So follow my grip tip here:
th-cam.com/video/jQZLp8bF-Ww/w-d-xo.html
I bought and still have swing machine golf (great teaching). Is body swing any different? I suspect not since your instruction is consistent.
They are fine but other than warming up they don't do anything. I have seen countless people with bad swings swinging them.
Paul love your drills . Would a heavy weighted training club be beneficial with this drill ?
No. Never swing a weighted club. Watch: th-cam.com/video/iNKIMiv8jng/w-d-xo.html
I hope to plan a trip out your way in the coming months - do you do in person lessons?
I certainly do and I do remote video coaching too with my new app CoachLink. My lesson pricing his on my site: paulwilsongolf.com just let me know if you can make it in the futuure.
Excellent as always Paul. To the range tomorrow, it's going to be an excellent session. 90 balls of loose wrists. 45 half swings then 45 full swings!
Very good.
@@paulwilsongolf q
You are hinging and rehinging to loosen your wrists. You need loose wrists on all shots. Once you get to chipping and putting your wrists are locked.
Good drill. The question I have is should I deliberately set my wrists vs naturally hinge? Obvious natural is what I want but what if I don’t consistently hinge?
You will be deliberately setting your wrists until they are loose. Then you are not even thinking about them.
Paul Wilson Golf perfect. This includes driver as well? Thx Paul!
