@@davidcolon2735 it is true that everyone can be entitled to their opinion, but if they decide to share it, they better be ready for others to question it.
For example, if you want to talk Actual talent (people throw that word around too much, when in reality most people who are great at something have worked really hard for that), then imo Jeff Buckley was one of the most gifted singers/guitarists/song-writers, and his death was the biggest tragedy in music in the 90s.
He only released one album, yet it is basically a perfect showcase of how natural music was for him, and whats even more impressive was what he could do live with his voice - not to mention that he usually played guitar along with it.
If you havent heard of him, sadly he is Most remembered due to his cover of Hallelujah, but believe me - despite how great it is, it was the least the guy could actually pull off, and here is an example of that: th-cam.com/video/lUeENNKLuSA/w-d-xo.html

The forest theme for these types of bands are usually due to just the fact that most of these bands are from one of the Scandinavian countries which are mostly forested. CoB is Finnish if I recall (without looking it up to verify). Regarding the genre here, CoB is considered Melodic Blackened Death Metal.

    Love Children Of Bodom!!!
The keyborder is 18 days younger than lead gitarist/vocalist, but he is from jazz first)))) Drummer is 4 months younger than lead guitarist/vocalist)) Bassist is 10 months younger than their drummer)))) Only the rythm guitarist (that times) is 5 years older than others)) this is 2000 year, they are 1979 year of birth (1980 and 1974 too). So they are mostly 21 years old then.
About that cord around the neck: Alexi had passed through some real shit, he knows how to die... But now he stopped to do that - after 30, I guess, he calmed down about suicide tendencies.
Now the band is not COB anymore 😭 But guys do music in other bands, and the most f*cking active is Alexi, I'm happy for him, he was the main composer and writer for "Children Of Bodom", took part in many other different projects and is not going to sit still! Horns up an go! He made another band, "Bodom After Midnight", they play COB songs and prepare new material. I'm waiting for their releases)))))) But "Children Of Bodom" will be forever in my heart, and "Every Time I Die" - one of my favourite songs of all times!

They had a song on one of the Saw movie soundtracks and their vocalist is one of the most expressive and talented in the entire metal genre. Hopefully not speaking the language doesn't prevent you from getting into it though.
I suggest the video for The Blossoming Beelzebub if you want to be disturbed to your very core, or maybe the song Rinkaku as a first taster of their unique sound.

Great Reaction Video Guys! The first Heavy metal song was “Black Sabbath” by Black Sabbath, which came out in 1970. The first Proto-metal song was “Purple Haze” by Jimi Hendrix, which came out in 1967. The first Acid rock song was “You're Gonna Miss Me” by the 13th Floor Elevators, which came out in 1966. And on another note. My go to favorite games recently has been Call of Duty Warzone & Cold War. I love gaming and Jammin' my fav tunes during. An when I'm feeling Nostalgic. Or I'm with friends. We like playing all my Guitar Hero games Metallica and Warriors of Rock are my fav's. Then there's Rocksmith and Power Gig. Gaming & Watching TH-cam in 2020 did help with the boredom.

You are correct, go-go music is a D.C. thing. Basically funk music with some other elements thrown in. Chuck Brown and the Soul Searchers and Trouble Funk are 2 well known artists from that genre. Dave Grohl did a Sonic Highways episode (which you should watch... the whole series I mean!) on D.C. music, including the go-go scene, and interviewed some go-go artists for the episode.
Poison is pretty much always categorized as hair metal, I believe.
Forget The Godfather and Scarface... Dog Day Afternoon and Serpico are Al Pacino’s greatest films 😊

At some point you guys gotta get into some Death! As some others have said, they (Chuck Shuldiner - the main writer, singer, guitarist) are MAJOR pioneers in death metal. Many even call Chuck the godfather of death metal. Their first few albums featured much more typical death metal style vocals, but the later ones started going with the screeching goblin style vocals. I'd suggest Pull the Plug for some true to form classic Death.
    Chuck forever!!!☠

Chris barnes is the godfather of death metal. He started in cannibal corpse but is in 6 feet under. He even sings lead for his own tribute band

Music videos in the forest are a recurring theme in heavy metal bands from Europe, Folk metal, etc, Children of Bodom is from Finland, a place known for it's deep. old growth forests. Sort of like Rappers in their music videos in clubs, or what can be assumed to be the streets of their hometown, it's similar here, the forests are their, "hood" so to speak.

First growling was on Napalm Death grindcore album "Scum" (1987), but overall growling was a signature of 90-ies death metal bands and first death album to do this was Morbid Andel "Altars Of Madness" (1989).

Id love them to listen to the whole album first but i know how overwelming that can be. Recharging is the best song i think, so I want everyone to hear this hopefully get into the band than listen to it the right way.

This band is one of my favorite melodic Death Metal.
Pleasd try Amon Amarth as well with their song Guardians of Asgaard
