Bodom is a lake in Finland, that unsolved homicides occured.
It was solved few years ago tho. But it remaind mystery for ages and still there is not all the facts. Tho what i said makes hardly any sense but when the band was made people tought they knew who was the murderer.
Yes, it's still unsolved. A suspect was arrested in 2004, but he was found not guilty in trial. The murders happened in 1960.
But hey, go Finland! Representing.

It's Not really Happy though (except the Key Solos). The Keyboards in generell can be pretty dark and atmospheric.

Follow the Reaper was their 3rd album and is probably their best and a classic in melodic death metal. Every song on it is awesome. As you can tell from this song, every song has its unique riffs.

been listening to Children of Bodom, Kalmah, Ensiferum, etc for years. Never gets old. They are melodic death metal.
Tons of others are saying it, but I’ll give my piece too. Please take the time to listen to this great new independent band, The Warning. They are 3 sisters from Monterrey, Mexico who have proven to me and to many others that the genre of rock is in good hands for the 21st century! Not only are they talented at their instruments, but they are also talented in their song writing, not to mention that they are some of the nicest down to earth people you will ever meet! Give them a listen!!!

Hey guys, could you do Bolt Thrower - When Cannons Fade for Veterans Day?
It's a song about the PTSD experienced by veterans of the first world war. The lyrics are amazing and the riffs are equally good. It's also death metal, and an underappreciated band.
This is a must considering Nov 11 is widely celebrated in commemoration of WWI, which is also the entire theme for the album that this song is off of.
When cannons fade, Remembrance and Lest we forget. These are the tunes of Bolt Thrower that should be blaster out on remembrance Sunday and 11/11.
Wow, I remember listening to this song and this album back in 2000 or 2001. That was my Senior year of high school. It seems like it was just a few months ago. I miss that time. I love that music can make the past so sharply present, if only for a few moments.

I would really like you to react to a young rock band, all female, named The Warning. And no, it's not Eminem's song...
They are fantastic but rather unknown because they have decided to stay independent so they haven't signed with labels although getting propositions.
So they can use any exposure they can get, surely from one of the best and most popular reaction channels - yours!

If you'll like it, and since I know you like stories in music and concept albums, you should know it's the first song in a concept album telling the story of a woman that does not receive the love she gives so she drowns into madness and eventually murder... But the rest of the album (which name is "Queen of the Murder Scene") is only if you'll like the first song.
I won't tell you more about the band itself although you will be surprised when getting to know them, because I want you to focus on the music and the show they put on.

I used to love children of bodom. They were one of my top favorites back in 2008-09 when I was a newer metalhead. I feel like I saw them live once but I honestly dont remember. They were probably also a band that hipped me to Scandinavian bands before I realized it(I knew they were from finland). Haven't listened to them in years though. I look back and think how crazy my journey through metal has been, where I started, where it's taken me and the experiences I've had and people I've met.
RIP Laiho.. Fuck it still really sucks. Thanks for all of the incredible melodies.
Saw them live earlier this year. Such a badass show, its unfortunate like 3 of the members just quit the band..
The last show with them is in December in Finland, so I guess they're staying on for a bit longer, but yes, very unfortunate. 😞

"Bodom" is a Swedish word, which is the plural form of "Boda" which means "shop". It's a name given to a village in Finland, and right next to the town is Lake Bodom, named after the town. The lake is infamous because in the 1960's some teenagers were camping on the lake shore, but they were murdered, with the exception of one victim who got away. The murders are still unsolved, and the culprit was never found. It doesn't have anything to do with demons. And this band is not black metal, it's one of the very first Melodeath bands ever, and the reason it sounds a bit different is because this is Finnish Melodeath, which was sort of invented separately but at the same time as the more famous Swedish melodeath (AKA Gothenburg metal). Bands who play or played in the Finnish style also include Kalmah, Eternal Tears Of Sorrow, Norther, Imperanon and more. Oh, and the lyrics are quite depressing because the songwriter, Alexi Laiho, was depressed back then and even attempted suicide during a tour.

Bodom (aka bodomjärvi) is a lake in Espoo. On a Bodom-lake, three of four youths were murdered while sleeping on June 5, 1960. Look at the en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Bodom_murders.

If I'm remembering rightly you really liked them that time, too.
Three years late but "Every time I die" is basically meaning every time he fails, get brought up again, propped up only to fail and fall again. It hurts more and more the more it happens and at one point, at least the character in that song is tired of it, it keeps happening, kicked when being down and not being able to take it anymore. Its not necessarily the message of that song, he's not telling people to do that or that he is going to, its something Alexi might have felt but he let it out in the lyrics rather than doing something dumb. The failures and the fall feels like a death.
If anything Alexi didn't go quietly into the light, a week before he died he was filming his last music video and living to the end, is kind of what actually killed him.
Kissing The Shadows has the best guitar work of their discography, it's mind blowing so I really recommend this song.
And by the way Bodom is a lake in Finland where some teenagers were murdered and the case hasn't been resolved

They are an independent Band they have already recorded in an EP in 2015 Their First Album in 2017 and their second Album in 2018, this month they are Touring in Argentina next Month they Have Two Sold out shows in New York City and in January they have Two Sold out shows at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood

Cradle of Filth have just released a remastered version of Cruelty and The Beast, so I suggest listening to the remastered version of The Twisted Nails of Faith.

As everyone already stated Children of Bodom get their name for the Lake Bodom Murders by Lake Bodom in Finland.
You want more badass guitar work from Alexi (the guitarist for COB) check out Banned From Heaven. This song is still one of their best though. It’s about time you guys reviewed these guys, Alexi really is one of the baddest guitarists out there.
