- The Samurai is the unique unit of the Japanese in Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings. It is a fast-attacking infantry unit with an attack bonus against other unique units.
Samurai can be upgraded to Elite Samurai in the Imperial Age.
Cost: 50 Food, 30 Gold
The Hand Cannoneer is a gunpowder unit in Age of Empires II that can be trained at the Archery Range once the Imperial Age is reached and Chemistry is researched. It has a powerful attack, but low hit points and low accuracy at range.
Cost: 45 Food, 50 Gold
In the total resources series, we consider 100 Food = 100 Wood = 100 Gold. In the equal resources series, we consider 100 Food = 100 Wood = 17 Gold.

Ironic how splitting the cost with another unit changes the outcome of certain battles.
I wonder...have you done this type of battle, but with castles?
It was a bad day for unique infantry units.
vs infantry: Nothing Changed
vs Archer & Cav: Samurai trying their very best to carry Hand Cannoneers to win lol
I wonder if hand cannoneers helped more with actual firepower or just by messing up enemy units' pathfinding and forcing them to attack hand cannons instead of samurai.
There is no unit having more damage than Samurai against UU. Samurai has +12 attack and 33% attack speed together. Polish Obuch, Arbalest and Turkish Jannisary and Hussar is good example for Firepower and Meatshield.
波西米亞火槍兵+弗拉芒民兵
Plumed Archers and Slingers are very unrealistic. They somehow don't take damage from led bullets? There is a fine line when balancing civs, but that one seems weird.
If only the Legionaries had one Centurion to buff them. Feels like a whole different category since they'd be 2 less in numbers, but attacking and moving faster.
1 teuton castle fully loaded with elite teutonic knights vs every unique unit?
Slingers really surprised
Bad experiment. All units attack HCs first because they attack first, running through samurais and taking extra damage before engaging anything
