    Qui-Gon Jinn
    Jinn = Spirit
Qigong = a meditative breathing and balancing exercise to meant to center one’s self and improve their live energy.
    So, Qui-Gon Jinn isn’t random.
He is a spirit in balance with the Living Force. It’s why the theme song for his duel with Darth Maul in the Phantom Menace was called ‘the duel of fates’. They were dueling for the soul of Anakin, the Chosen One meant to bring balance to the Force, and the fate of the galaxy.
If Qui-Gon Jinn won, Anakin would’ve learned Balance, stayed in the light and brought peace to the galaxy.
If Maul won, Anakin would fall to dark and bring suffering to the galaxy. And only brought Balance to the Force because his son created that scenario.

Aside from his return to the at the end, is based on Lucifer’s fall from grace. Darth Sidious meant Dark insidious. The Clone Wars (at least in Revenge of the Sith) was a critique on the Bush’s wars. The problem with the Jedi was a critique on the Church…

@@Grogeous_Maximus In the OT, the Emperor was Nixon.
In the PT, Palpatine was Bush. And he famously called Cheney, Darth Vader. Jar Jar was all of Senators that voted to give the President emergency powers to effectively declare war without the need for Congressional approval. In RotS and late in the development of AotC, he pointed out the his worry that Bush would use 911 and the wars to give up our democratic rights and freedoms in the name of keeping us safe.
The whole thing between the Lightside and Darkside, with the concept of the Chosen One, is about our moral choices and how they can have an impact beyond us. With a clear contrast between the chosen hero of the OT, Luke and the chosen false-hero of the PT, Anakin. The Lightside was good, those that practiced it selflessly and for good could make the world a better place, and they get to live forever in heaven. Luke chose to be good and it saved the galaxy. Whereas Anakin chose the Darkside and was evil, doing bad for selfish reasons, believing that you should have it all because you are better or more deserving or smarter, making the world a worse place. It is the way of the rich and powerful, where they hold to the religion of self and control and might or wealth makes right, and since there is nothing except this reality, will try to extend their lives unnaturally. The narratives were meant to illustrate morality and philosophy for the youth.
Star Wars, the OT (the originals) and the PT (the prequels), have just as much substance in them as Star Trek. It’s just that Lucas focused on morality and philosophy, while Star Trek focused on ethics, duty and honor. Both had fantasy and nonsense, though Star Trek often tried to makeup for it with the lay man’s understanding of science and technobabble. That and Rotenberry’s Star Trek had a lot more content, than Lucas’ Star Wars, which is just the six movies of the OT and PT.

@@OfficialRedTeamReview In the first 3 minutes of this review you are dismissing negative reactions to this show by talking about grifters and review bombing. This is the same type of attitude coming out of LucasFilm that people can't stand. You guys talk about the problems with the show, the twin nonsense, but seem to give it a pass. You go on to call the show mediocre and give it a 6/10. That's fine. I didn't hear you mention the critic score on rotten tomatoes which is 91%. Why such a good score for a 6/10 show? That puts it on par with GoT season 1. Wouldn't really be an issue if you focused only on reviewing the show rather than the internet drama.
What I mean about politics is that these shows end up serving as a proxy for the woke vs anti-woke internet drama and tribalism.
The "grifters" hate Rings of Powers and Star Wars. You guys seem to favor or go soft on them. They love House of the Dragon though. Preston seems weirdly critical of it. You have also posted House Of The Dragon "drama" videos.

I agree with Preston on some things, like the fact that this feels like a fresh take on Star Wars since it takes place 200+ years before the main timeline. I also agree that, although Star Wars stories like in the original trilogy have characters whose personalities stand out, in The Acolyte I like how it’s subtle distinctions between personalities. Hell, if people are more accepting of the prequel trilogy now, I find it shocking that there’s people willing to immediately reject this series. But likely it’s because of nostalgia that now there’s more love for the prequels than before. Andor is still top tier Star Wars.

This time it is the opposite of Andor. It went to the bottom after episode 3. And that is not only the oppinion of grifters, but also of a lot of respectable critics. I really see the potential in this show, but it's just so incredibly below average even in it's first two episodes that I find it hard to take it seriously at all. Especially since the fourth episode came out, I feel like the show exists just to be some kind of weird or righteous fan fiction. I appreciate the sets & aliens in the backgrounds, the worldbuilding in the idea of Jedi enclaves around the galaxy is really cool. But episode 3 feels like it exists to try & just say "fuck you" to any remaining fans the series (star wars as a whole) has left. E4 is just right back to the same old below average Disney+ writing. I can't express enough how much I want to like this show, it has a brilliant concept & solid framework. I like the cast. It even looks decent, though not always. However, man do they make it difficult. I'm going to continue watching as I wanna see it through, before I just write it off... But at this point it's tough. I don't really get offended at shows or media, so I'm not angry or anything. Just frankly disappointed. (Also, Obi Wan Kenobi has always been just that, Ben is his cover name. I don't understand the criticism of the names, they've ALWAYS been weird. Even the background characters, supporting characters etc. Lando Calrissian, Yoda, Mon Mothma, Sheev Palpatine, Han Solo, Boba Fett, Wilhuff Tarkin.. I could go on. I understand not liking them, but it's a weird point to make about name schemes while in the same breath say Yord or Indara is totally normal sounding. It's nothing too serious, just a funny thing I latched onto in this video.)

Ahh Preston, always the contrarian. "Literally the best fight scenes since Phantom Menace." They were pretty cool though, that I do agree on.
Idk, it's too early to say, but I thought the characters were pretty flat, the dialogue wooden, and the twin plot was a bit predictable and poorly, like, revealed. Revealed in a stilted way. Like, the second you hear that she has a twin you know instantly what's going on, and any mystery there was is just a result of the characters not mentioning it until then which felt forced. The evil twin trope has been done before, y'know, so it's like you gotta be a little more subtle if you're gonna pull it off I think.
But, I am not willing to write it off. I want to like it. The art direction is pretty cool, and the yellow lightsaber I've wanted to see since I was a little kid. And I may end up liking it, it's too early to say. It was cool seeing Trinity from the Matrix and Kim Wexler in Star Wars, good for them.
EDIT: And then Carmine says exactly what I said, lol. I agree.

The best thing I can say about the Acolyte is that I appreciate that it's trying to do something different. However, that's really the only nice thing I have to say about the show. It's not that I think it's bad, it's just so standard and aggressively middle-of-the-road. Sure making a murder mystery police procedure show in the Star Wars franchise is a fresh direction, but within the genre of murder mystery police procedure shows, this just feels like such a pedestrian and underwhelming safe take with a Star Wars paint job. Take out the Star Wars trappings and put the show on Earth and no one would be talking about it. As for the characters, I don't think any of them are bad, they're functional and fine but there's not enough to them to make me care about them or find their characterizations terribly impressive.
For me the biggest issue is that this isn't a TV Show, this is one of those 8-hour movie miniseries that's been broken into 8 episodes so they can call it a TV show when it really isn't one. Because of that, it doesn't have the pacing, runtime, and structure for the characters and storylines to be fully fleshed out because it's too busy running to the next scene. Because of that, we get lots of stupid stuff to get the characters from Point A to Point B for no other reason but because the plot needs to happen. It's honestly kind of amazing how after all this time there are still people trying to replicate Game of Thrones Season 1's structure, but still can't get it right.
Overall, I am not going to say this show is awful and I'm gladly take this over more of Dave Filoni's constant "Hey, remember this character from that cartoon 10 years ago" or Jon Favreau's "I'm going to record my kids playing with action figures and give it a $100 million budget" but the execution is just so lacking. This show really needs something to kick it into high gear and elevate the material into something more substantial without relying on the Star Wars setting to do the heavy lifting. Imagine if Andor was just a bog-standard spy show with no twists or turns and no ambition to be something more and that's how this show feels like to me so far. No disrespect to Leslye Headland, but this ain't no Russian Doll.

Many of these people had notable connections that explain their similarities, and the shows that pushed the narrative intentionally mislead people. My main issue with The Acolyte is the fact, it assumed you already have a working knowledge base of the High Republic so the targets 💀 of the assassin actually meant something. As a man in his 50s, the original trilogy and the novels written about Luke, Leia, & Han were a steady diet in my childhood. I never got the chance to read up on the High Republic. Therefore I was a little underwhelmed when an important scene with dire consequences unfolded. From what I could decipher, the High Republic read like Law & Order: Space Victims Unit. 100 yrs before the Galactic Empire, everyone still hated space cops. How that was any different from Attack of the Clones? No clue. 🤷‍♂️ Without any context, this felt like the info equivalent of being dropped out of an airplane without a parachute. As a result, cool scenes spliced together but none of them really have any gravity to the overall plot.

Like, you'd very clearly get more views if the both of you were trashing it the whole video and there's no incentive to lying. You would think that they know that, right?
Also, there's a lot of people saying it wasn't review bombed, but if a show has a bunch of really low audience ratings before even the first episode drops, that's review bombing, I don't know why this is such a hard concept for people to understand. Yeah it was a bit goofy, but it at least somewhat made sense and was somewhat self consistent .
it felt like there was a large galaxy. Now they seem to just be teleporting around. It makes it feel like it's set in a big city rather than an expansive universe. Powers and abilities depend on plot needs rather than fixed rules.
they track down osha on some random ship in hours, while bringing the witness along.
they track down maia in hours, run into the only apothecary in the area, and immediately have someone tell them "thats not the usual guy".
they lose her in a dust cloud even though they are force users and have a ship over head.
sorry the chronology of the show is cursed. They could have put more than a few hours between events easily to fix the weirdness.
and other than "it makes no sense", the dialogue is just painful amounts of bad exposition. "my dear friend", "your mothers and sisters died in the fire", etc...
Honestly, there could be something to the story if they had better writers. And a lot of my "complaints" could fairly easily be fixed. "a Jedi was murdered last night" -> "murdered X days/weeks ago".
show osha struggling to survive a few days in the crashed ship, giving time for the prisoners to be caught, brought to Coruscant, and interrogated.
Have something more complex than "the poison has to have been made in the direct vicinity".
Dont have dialogs like "there is strong evidence against her" (the word of a bartender) when the evidence against it is "she was literally on a ship with other people somewhere else and has multiple alibis"
sorry but "it has always been nonsense" doesn't cover "it's really really dumb".

Hey Carmine and Preston, any chance before season 2, you'll consider a video about why “Andor is Woke (and that's why it is so good)”?
Talk about how Andor is a continuation of George Lucas’s Viet Cong-inspired rebels fighting against a fascist empire. We all know Antifa is woke.
The opening arc portrays a corrupt police force that is overly militaristic, yet out of their depth.
The locals of Aldhani are mistreated, their culture disrespected. The heist is led by a rich-kid lesbian (super “woke”).
Cassian's arrest, trial, and prison stay - all showing more systemic injustices. Plus the Empire’s pollution of Narkina 5 is why the aliens help Cass and Melshi escape. (Caring about the environment is woke or “woke”, idk which, but why did the grifters overlook this, shouldn't they have pointed it out and then called the show “woke garbage”? Rhetorical question.)
The Empire tries to limit the peaceful funeral-march, and it becomes a chaotic riot. What is more woke than that?
Maybe the outright political statements, speeches, and manifesto. Isn't all that woke for “force feeding the audience themes and platitudes”?
Anyway, I think we're supposed to relate to Cass as he becomes radicalized. Obviously our governments aren't so extremely authoritarian/fascist, but there are clear parallels.
Although maybe the creators also want us to be a bit critical of the “current woke movement” for being too disorganized, having too much factionalism, distrusting each other, turning on each other. The heist was done by a ragtag group, all anti-Imperial for different reasons, but one member was willing to betray the others. Luthen and Saw Gerrera are willing to sacrifice Anto Kreegyr, which might be necessary but is still super dark.

And yeah, I understand most people like it for different reasons (the show is well done in every aspect), but I'm just curious if the anti-woke grifters (some of them liked Andor, yea?) have ever been called out for conveniently ignoring Andor's woke messages.

    • @OfficialRedTeamReview
      @OfficialRedTeamReview  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

I don't really come at or go into why something is "woke". It's not what I do because "woke" can mean different things to different people and not a lot of people can correctly identify. My interpretation of what I think it is, is likely different than yours.
That said, I appreciate you writing this comment and I agree with a lot of what you say here but I don't think those things are "woke" I think they're part of being human, being a person: to fight against intolerance and evil which Andor did a good job of showing how the Empire was that. Andor is great for all the things you said but I don't think any of that is "woke" just good ole fashion Star Wars being political like its always been. Someone told me the other day that Anakin saying to Obi-Wan "if you're not with me then you're my enemy" and that was George criticizing George Bush and the stuff in the middle east. I can see that.

The poor dialogues I can forgive from bad writing. But fundamentally stupid plots just makes the show a laughing stock. When Preston refuses to delve into these quite so obvious errors, what else is there? Unless he's a contrarian at heart and will go against the popular takes online to stand out.

Also lastly, even as a fan of you both. Can we at least acknowledge that the review bombing comment was out of line. Seriously guys? Is this based on what, the ratio of top critics vs audience score? Why is it so lopsided? Maybe the paid shills of the major publications cannot afford to piss off big daddy Disney, so they cannot offer scathing (sorry honest) reviews. Maybe there's a shit ton of fake (sorry newly made critics) that was paid for to boost the numbers up (turns out review manipulation works both ways). Sure there can be a bandwagon effect of people giving it a low score since it's trending but the audiences aren't paid professional critics. The critics should be held to a higher standard, otherwise what is their purpose except to spread lies?
I mean the show is so terrible Rollingstone itself gave it a terrible review and had to take it down due to posting a mere hours before the embargo. Also Alan Sepinwall is not some rando critic, the dude has been in the scene forever and though you might not agree with all his reviews he's not what I consider one of the extremes that swings for either one way or another. The fact he went out of his way to shit on this show just proves how terrible it is from a fundamentally plot structure. Speaking of embargo. How does Disney put one where nobody can say anything until what 10 hours before the episode premieres? I could list 10+ things that are so stupid it would make anyone cringe (though I can't since YT doesn't have spoiler tags). At any rate would be hilarious if you brought this up next time you talk to Preson and ask him how much Disney paid him. Thanks~

      3. Can you timestamp and link that video for me?
      4. I've seen this regurgitated around and its coming from grifters trying to find anything to rip the showrunner on which is funny because those people complaining about Leslye past as his assistant suddenly care about s*ex pests yet still support Trump and Gaetz. Almost like it's bad faith hmmmm

As I said like or hate the show but you can't defend her individually it just looks abit weird if you ask me but if you want to defend people who cover up R**e you do you it says alot about your character and personality 😁

Right wing grifters have tapped into this audience that have always been there but were hidden and exiled from society. Gamergate, Trump's victory and how many TH-camrs rose to success complaining about Last Jedi allowed these incels to come out of the shadows to complain. They use phrases like "you just don't like different opinions" or "why are you trying to censor me?" to hide the racism and sexism. That's where the "right-wing" part of it comes in because you usually find these types of issues on that side of the political spectrum.
In short: the hate has always been there but through a bunch of things happening one after another it's become common place and encouraged to hate on everything that talking heads and glorified pundits don't like/feel like they can make money off of. Hate sells.

It's a bit cheesy at times. Like that ending scene in the first episode. The dude was giving the anime villain speech. Only missing that "Muahaha," lough. A power rangers villain might be a better comparison. Master Sol seems cool. Yord is essentially a carbon copy of young Anakin, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. The twins are kinda like video game protagonist. Mae I suspect is what happens when a righteous player tries an evil playthrough. They end up defaulting back to playing as Osha. The show is a 5 going on 6 out of 10 in my book. Might be a 4 by the end of the season.

I really hope they start fracturing the Star Wars universe. Everything is too centralized. There is one Jedi Order and two Siths in the entire galaxy. But the Star Wars galaxy has like a million inhabited worlds. Look at real world religions, even in the same religion there are different denominations, branches, cults, etc.
I hope this show reveals that there are a bunch of different Siths and Sith cults. Because it doesn't make sense how the Rule of Two can be enforced across the entire galaxy.
