Heaven and Abrahams bosom are 2 completely different places. Abrahams bosom was a waiting area after death for righteousness people until Jesus sacrificed to remove our sin
You are right. Abraham's bosom (paradise) is in the world of the dead called Hades, in that same place (Hades) is Gehenna where the unrighteous are kept till Christ comes. Remember the rich man and Lazarus. we understand at the coming of Christ, the dead shall arise from the world of the dead to be judged either of good deeds or bad deeds, then both death and Hades will be thrown into the lake of fire.
Jews also used paradise as a reference to Abrahams bosom. When Jesus said to the thief "today you will be in paradise with Me", this is the place He was referring to. The thief couldn't have been in Heaven that day because Heaven wouldn't be open for three more days when Jesus rose frome the dead.
Love the use of scripture to make your point!!! It sounds in line with the Word, but I'll have to dig deeper into the scriptures to be sure I fully agree with the summary. My instinct is to think you nailed it. Place for the people of Christ, and a waiting place for the rest, that then eventually becomes their permanent place of eternal separation from God where they will be torment with gnashing of teeth (as scripture puts it).
It may sound foreign cause I feel like churches never really preached on this. The common thought was once you die, you either go to heaven or hell. But I read into it some years ago and found this to be true. In fact I’m pretty sure that’s partially where the purgatory concept comes from (which is a false concept). The other issue is it depends on the translation you use. Some of the English ones used ‘hell’ when it should technically be other terms. The best explanation though is in Revelations when it speaks of defeating satan after the millennium reign and then God throwing him and the non believers into the lake of fire which is then covered by ‘hell’ (which means cover). I believe before Jesus’ death all souls were in Sheol, which, if correct, is corroborated in the Old Testament, especially in Psalms. But regardless! Be like the Bereans and read for yourself ♥️
All men go down to the grave waiting the return of Christ. There will be two resurrections, one for the Just and one for the Unjust. The Just will be changed in a twinkling of an eye and receive their glorious spiritual bodies and immortality (our reward. The Unjust will receive a body of flesh and blood (these cannot inherit the Kingdom of God) and will be judged at the GWTJ by our Lord and the Elect. And as Isaiah says....the inhabitants will learn righteousness! God is awesome and has provided a Savior BEFORE the foundation of the World. God is not in competition with anyone.
@@beyond.gardening spiritually speaking, where do you think ALL the saved people from the Old Testament through to the Sunday of Christ's resurrection, are right now? I haven't dug into this topic in great detail, but I believe the scripture outlines that the souls of the pre-resurrection People joined Christ in heaven at some point between the crucifixion and the moment of His resurrection. His shed blood on the cross then applied his righteousness to them, so they could enter heaven. And therefore the soul of any saved person after the resurrection of Christ, can go straight to heaven. And during the second coming of Christ, is when those souls are reunited with their perfected and renewed bodies. Mine might even have a full head of hair! If you've dug into this topic more than I have, please summarize your answer like I have, and point me to a few scriptures to support it. God bless!
@@JoinUsInVR problem here is "saved", nobody is saved passed tense. Saving means to heal.....it takes time....ones entire lifetime!. Now David ( who loved God) was a murderer right? No murderer will enter the Kingdom of God! All that have died are still in their graves awaiting our Lord's return from Adam to the very last person. No one has entered the realm of God save for His Son, Jesus Christ. Btw...no one is promised "heaven", our reward is to rule and reign with Christ on Earth.
@@beyond.gardeningthat's not what Christ says. Take a close look at John 3:3, and the FULL chapter. Through Christ, we are made NEW. He is our kingsman redeemer. He is the 2nd Adam. He is the first born of the resurrection that started on easter Sunday. He cloaks us with His righteousness in God's eyes, the moment we confess our sins, repent of our sins, and put our faith and trust 100% in Him. Hypocrites and people without true hearts of repentance don't count. But true repentance with godly sorrow yields salvation in that moment according to the scriptures. And just like Jesus Christ said to the thief on the cross, in the day the theif died he instantly joined Christ in paradise. Those who are truly born again Christians according to Christ's criteria, we'll see him in spirit the day they die. And then are reunited with their bodies in the day of the resurrection. If you disagree, point me towards the most potent scripture that makes your point. There is only 1 truth. And we all can see it in the Bible, since that's what Christ said.
Personally I'm pretty sure there is no "correct interpretation", but I'm an atheist and do not see the Bible as coherent (let alone reliable), so that's probably why. I did look up the Bible-quotes referenced in this video as saying there is eternal torment, and I did not see them saying that quite that explicitly. But it is also said in Revelation that "the beast and the false prophet" will be "be tormented day and night for ever and ever" in the lake of fire. And the lake of fire is also described as the destination for "whosoever was not found written in the book of life". Revelation also describes wars being fought with swords. But it's not surprising that Revelation does not describe or even hint at modernity. It is generally not the case that people who have psychotic episodes (or write fan fiction) are particularly good at forseeing future technological developments, and I see no particular reason why "John" would be an exception. We are already around 2000 years behind schedule for the second coming (Jesus said it would happen while disciples of his walked the Earth). It will never happen, much like God never will heal an amputee on live television (he is prevented from doing that by not existing).
There are some topics in the bible that are unnerving or difficult to take in, this being one of them for me but is necessary like bitter medicine or vegetables.
John 3 makes it clear... We must be born of water (flesh) and born again (in spirit). Once born again, we receive the Holy Spirit, as a helper within us, to help us turn from sin and instead turn to (choose) God's will. This is repentance. Is this what you mean?
i thought abrahams bosom/paradise are in the same realm as sheol/hades and the abyss, are they not separated by a great gulf of all the dead?, whereas heaven is in a different realm from the dead and earth. because heaven is a place of the living and most holy god, not the dead. to be absent in the body is to be present with the lord. for edit: hades is the temporary hell, the torment of sins, where as the actual hell is the lake of fire, eternal damnation
Hell is also on earth as well as it could be in is just as heaven. I believe we all go to sheol even Jesus and David went. All men have fallen short of the glory of God. Hell just won’t affect us if we have salvation
@@eternal_ruler74yes, there are the heavens! No geographical location somewhere out in space on a rock😃. Christ is within, the Kingdom of God is within. We are the Kingdom of God. We will rule and reign with Christ on Earth.
What's the purpose of being held in Hell to await the lake of fire? The only way that could possibly make sense is if those who die go to sleep or if there's a chance for redemption in Sheol.
I think a good example of this is when a suspected murderer is imprisoned before being sentenced. He is detained without freedom and when he comes before the judge he will be condemned to life in prison or the electric chair or whatever sentence the judge imposes. Likewise, the wicked that die are held in a type of prison or detention center waiting the day when they will stand before the righteous judge at which point they will be sentenced to eternity in the Lake of Fire. There will be no falsely accused wicked. All the wicked that die will be justly held in the carcel of sheol or hades as they wait. They are guilty but they will also have their day in court when their guilt will be manifested and proclaimed by God and then He will cast them into the Lake of Fire.
There was a suicide survivors who’s heart stopped for a long time. He said he went to hell and saw souls screaming for Jesus to help pull them out for another chance. I think some are rescued out if they are truly repenting and hell is not the full second death yet
@@DicelaBiblia I thought Hell exists outside space and time. Furthermore why does an all knowing, all powerful, and all loving God need to keep people in a jail cell to decide on a sentence that's already been decided and in which they're already being tormented? At least with your jail example you can probably find a lawyer good enough to get you a reduced sentence or declared innocent.
Do you really think that all the souls in Hell have a final destination into the Lake of Fire? How do you explain, "Every knee shall bow every tongue will confess" scripture? Just curious...
Thats a good question. Don't all unbelievers have to be judged in the Great White Throne Judgement so I guess thats where it could happen(the kneeling) before they are cast into the lake of fire? I dunno.
A coat is a means of warmth on a winter's day. Anyone who witnesses its warmth even from afar recognizes this. But confessing that a coat is warming is not the same as *accepting* it around your own physical form and therefore receiving its warmth.
If Lord Jesus ascended to heaven upon his sacrifice for our sins, how come when Mary Magdalene comes to hug Him, He says: " Do not touch Me because I have not ascended to My father?"
Because He spent 40 days on earth revealing Himself as resurrected to different people (including His disciple), then He ascended after. First chapter of Acts talks about the ascension
Mary clung to Jesus because she thought he was about to ascend to heaven and she would never see him again. To assure her that he was not yet leaving, Jesus told her to stop clinging to him but instead to go and give his disciples the news of his resurrection!
@@msimisimasuku3922 That may be a bit of a stretch. It is clear Jesus preached to those in prison (I Peter 3:19) so they would know they have no excuse, if there was any doubt before. Any king can walk through his dungeons at will, how much more this one.

Praise God 🙏... Thanks for your teaching.. many preachers tell paradise is a waiting room for belivers who are dead till the day of judgement So after judgement day they will be moved to heaven or hell depending on their deeds...
Jesus died and was raised because he knew we could not live without failing to follow his commands. However, through faith, we are saved. Jesus said that if we love him, we will keep his commands. His teaching emphasizes practice rather than perfection. If we could simply follow the commands without fail, there would be no reason for him to die for us, as none of us are perfect. It’s important to practice his commandments. When we fail, we should get back up and keep trying. The only unforgiven sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, which refers to the practice of sin-continuing in sin without repenting-not just the occasional shortcoming.
This is not accurate. Sheol/hades has two distinct districts Good and Evil: Abraham’s bosom/paradise and tartarus hell for angels/hell. This was made only for the Old Testament believers because they could not live up to the law to be holy enough to be with God in heaven. Jesus died therefore he went to paradise not hell because he could not be around corruption (Luke 23:43) to his believers and not to heaven and obtained the keys said in revelations to death and Sheol/Hades after Jesus resurrection. located in the heart of the earth (Matthew 12:40) and the veil was torn. So we as New Testament believers don’t go there anymore there is no purgatory because Jesus said it is finished. We believers have direct connection to God in heaven because he covers our sins with the blood of Jesus Christ. So up I go with all my imperfection I notice daily that I work on. When I die as a believer I’ll go to my father. Satan didn’t know the power of his death. To this day most people don’t know the power of his death either. So there is still now Sheol/Hades and it is Hell. This is what believers or unbelievers get confused if they use all these terms interchangeably.
Thanks for the explanation but I don't understand if paradise is basically heaven why did Jesus say to Mary do not touch me I have not accended to my Father
Im a believer but ive never found it fair that a muslim for example gets brutally sent to hell for all eternity for simply being raised to believe on thing over the other, same place a serial murderer who actually deserves to be there goes
Yeah right🤔 Sheol, Hades are the unseen (the grave where All men end up at death)...dust to dust. Gehenna fire, lake of fire...all the same fire... Spiritual fire . Heaven, Paradise....a spiritual realm not a location. The story of Lazarus and the rich man is a parable....not literal.
You say that the Lake of Fire is the "final hell." Yet you use Luke 16:24 to describe it. But Luke 16:24 is the rich man in Hades, not Hell. So is Hades Hell? By reading Luke 16:24, it sure sounds like Hades is Hell. Maybe not "the final hell," but definitely a part of it.
The myth of Gehenna began to crystallize around 300 BC., during the intertestamental period. 1 Enoch describes souls in it, a burning fire, pain, darkness, and even a gate to Gehenna. During this period, Jews modified the Sheol of the OT by blending it with pagan ideas of the afterlife. By the time Christ came, a lot of Jews (though not all) believed in a Sheol inhabited with living souls. Christ used these myths, but not to authenticate noncanonical writings. Paul avoided the Greco-Jewish Gehenna and spoke more plainly.
The word ‘Hell’ is an English translation from the Greek word ‘Tartusus’, meaning the grave, Hades, the dark place. Replace every instance of the word Hell in the Bible with the word Grave and you will better understand its meaning. It’s the evil Catholic Church who devised ‘Hell’ being a place of endless torture for the wicked in order to instill fear and control into the populous during the Dark Ages. Satan is doing what he does best, to deceive you. There is no physical location where the wicked are tormented and punished for eternity. It’s not biblical. Hell is the grave. Nothing more, nothing less. At the end, there is the Lake of Fire. This is symbolic for the fire that God will reign down upon Satan, his demons and the wicked at the end of time, and as the Bible tells us, “they will be consumed” and will never exist again. This is the biblical meaning of “death” which is the wage of sin. You are forever separated from your Creator and His Love. No life. No conscience. The punishment is eternal, not the punishing. That is biblical.
They are condemned to Hell because they are sinners. Romans 3:23 says that all have sinned. Romans 6:23 says that the payment of our sin is death. Romans 5:8 says that Christ died for us sinners in order to save us. Those that never go to Christ for this salvation, will not find their names written in the Lamb's book of life and therefore will be justly punished as rebellious sinners.
So, those who have died the their sins goes to the place of the dead, not necessarily the time for prescribe torment, until that final day of judgment, the Great White Throne judgement? Are they on a parallel existence with earth where they could still enter act with the living to some degree? Hell is a mistranslation of Hades, the place of the dead? So, the burning Hell is actually the Lake of Fire where the damned will eventually go after the Great White Throne judgement? Makes sense. Please someone comment on what I've said please....thank you.
So my understanding is - those who don’t believe go to Sheol/hades or whatever you want to call it. But if you believe you’ll have everlasting paradise
@@michaellorusso4912 nope if you read the bible carefully, it is not eternal. It is not existing, which is the biggest punishment you can have. A just God doesn't punish the souls he made forever, they simply won't exist again at the end by their own evil freewill/decisions
Matthew 25:46 New International Version 46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.” The word Jesus uses here for eternal in the Greek is Aionios which means: without beginning or end Thayer's Greek-English Lexicon: Aionios: (1) without beginning or end; that which has been and always will be. (2) without beginning. it means forever.
What about Tartarus which is also translated as hell… 2 Peter 2:4 kjv and Sheol/hell in Hebrew and Hades/hell in Greek both mean the grave that’s where Jesus went when he died and the other souls like David are still there and buried waiting for the resurrection. It’s not just a place for the lost…Psalm 16:10 & Acts 2:22-32 kjv
@@deanfry879 I'm familiar with that passage and the saints in that passage aren't mentioned by name so we can't assume David was included but Peter did say during his sermon in Acts 2 that David is dead and buried which means he's awaiting the resurrection.
@@mindofmasterproductions All Peter needs to assert in that statement is David's body decayed, not that it was still there, though that may be spitting hairs. It does seem odd so many of the saints would come back to life and not David. Also of related note, Paul says the living would not precede the dead, which has potential implications when Enoch and Elijah were translated to heaven, also since Moses appeared in an apparently glorified body at the Transfiguration.
@@deanfry879 you pointed out things worth noting and all those things are miraculous and can’t be naturally comprehended or explained. However, Jesus did say in John 3:13 that no man has ascended to heaven (the third heaven as in the dwelling place of God) but Him.
It's not the story of Lazarus, it's the parable of the rich man. It's ALL about the rich man. Lazarus and Abraham are secondary characters, with Lazarus having practically no role at all in the story. Unless you want to believe that righteous souls can communicate with the wicked souls suffering in agony, and therefore hear their screams 24/7 as well, you have to realize this is a parable, not doctrinal teaching about the afterlife. The parable was spoken to the Pharisees and was a direct assault on their false beliefs and a condemnation for the Jews and what they were about to experience for rejecting and even killing their messiah. Earlier in that Chapter Luke Specifically mentions the Pharisees loved money. They also had the same false beliefs that prosperity preachers have today, that wealth is a sign of God's favor. Jesus makes it very clear that wealth isn't always a sign of God's favor, sometimes it's just a sign of your corruption. Also, earlier in Luke Jesus gets into an argument with the Pharisees who claim that Abraham is their father, and Jesus notes that God is able to raise children of Abraham from rocks if He has to. So, in the parable Lazarus is pictured outside the gate(a reference to the gentiles) starving hoping for even a morsel of food from the rich man's table. Food is many times a reference to the word of God, Jesus being the Bread of Life. This was a condemnation on the Jews for NOT witnessing to the world, to share God's truth and laws with the gentiles (worse they mostly conformed to the pagan gentile religions). Note also it specifically mentions the rich man had 5 brothers. Well Judah had 5 full blood brothers that were born to Leah. So again, more proof that the rich man was Israel and Lazarus the Gentiles. This was a parable to warn the pharisees that the goodness of the kingdom of heaven and the living word was about to be handed over to the Gentiles, that just as Jesus said earlier, God would raise children of Abraham from the Gentiles. This is also confirmed in Paul's writings, that not all children of Abraham are so by birth. The interesting twist is that the rich man asked Abraham to send Lazarus back (something he obviously had no power to do) to warn his 5 brothers. Abraham said they have the law and the prophets. Again, more proof the rich man is the Jews. Also, earlier Jesus told the pharisees that the law and the prophets spoke of Jesus, which they of course mocked. The rich man INSISTED they wouldn't believe because of the law and the prophets but WOULD believe if someone rose from the dead. Abraham assures them that even if someone were raised from the dead, they still wouldn't believe. What's so amazing is Jesus WOULD end up raising a man named Lazarus from the dead and not only was Abraham correct and saying they STILL wouldn't believe, but they actually plotted to kill both Jesus AND Lazarus after he was raised. Because the Jews rejected Christ and DID kill Him, they were cut off, just as the rich man was and as the rich man experienced fiery torment, so the Jews from that point on have experienced nothing but torment, from the destruction and burning of Jerusalem in 70 AD to the Holocaust and literally being burned up in the ovens.
Is confessing Jesus enough to enter Heaven..? John 6. Jesus emphasize to eat and drink His blood___what is His flesh and blood. What is the new covenant.?
If one confesses Jesus Christ, then by logical extension one obeys His command to "take up your cross and follow Me" which means you surrender to Him daily as you become more and more transformed into His image through your obedience to His commands. It is not anything we do personally that saves us; it is the work of salvation in us through the Holy Spirit that brings us into focus on God. Our salvation is not of our works. It is through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. It is described as a "new birth" in us. Think about it- did you have anything at all to do with your own birth? No. The only thing you did was come out of your mother's womb and.....breathe. The flesh and blood of Christ as spoken of by Jesus was Him instituting the cup of communion at the last supper. The "flesh and blood" are symbolic of the cup of communion. Hope all of this helps you. Follow Christ and pray often. You'll begin to see.
Short answer, yes (see Romans 10:9-13). But there are a lot of people who underestimate what it means to confess Jesus. Eating and drinking His body is symbolic and ceremonial. In the communion, we agree what Jesus did on the cross was necessary, and we remember and proclaim it until He comes (see I Corinthians 11:23-26). The new convenant is we no longer have to make blood sacrifices day after day and year after year for our past sins, for one sacrifice was made to forgive us for being sinners (see Hebrews 7:11-28).
Jesus Christ hung dying, He told a convicted criminal being crucified with Him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise" (Luke 23:43). Many people think Jesus assured the man he would go to heaven with Him that very day. But is this really what He meant? The placement of the comma after "you" and before "today" would certainly seem to indicate this. However, notice how an entirely different meaning is conveyed if the comma is placed after "today" rather than before: "Assuredly, I say to you today, you will be with Me in Paradise." No punctuation in the original Bible texts We need to first understand that original texts of the Bible (Greek for the New Testament and Hebrew and some Aramaic for the Old Testament) used no punctuation. As Dr. E.W. Bullinger explains in The Companion Bible: "None of our modern marks of punctuation are found [in Bible texts] until the ninth century...The punctuation of all modern editions of the Greek text, and of all versions made from it, rests entirely on human authority, and has no weight whatever in determining or even influencing the interpretation of a single passage" (1990, Appendix 94, p. 136, emphasis in original). In most cases translators and publishers of the Bible have done an admirable job using punctuation to clarify the meaning of the Scriptures. But this is one case where their doctrinal bias has regrettably obscured the meaning of Christ's words. By placing a comma before "today" in Christ's statement to the dying man rather than after it, they have Jesus saying something He never intended. We know this because the Bible clearly says Jesus Himself did not go to paradise or heaven on the day He died! Instead He died and was buried in the grave. Notice the apostle Paul's clear statement in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4: "For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures." Notice what Christ told Mary soon after He had been resurrected: "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father" (John 20:17). A full three days after His death, Jesus Himself clearly said that He had not yet ascended to heaven. Jesus had earlier plainly said that He would lie in the grave for three days and three nights (Matthew 12:40). The Scriptures nowhere say that His body was buried while His soul went elsewhere. Jesus died and was buried. He went only to the grave. Therefore the dying criminal could not have been with Jesus in heaven that day, because Jesus Himself did not go there then. If Jesus was not telling the man he would be in heaven or paradise on that day, what was He telling him? Future Kingdom and paradise on earth A fundamental principle for sound Bible study is to carefully check the context. Notice the specific wording of the man's request: "Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom" (Luke 23:42). Notice that the thief expressed no expectation of immediately going to heaven with Jesus at the moment they died. He may have already known something about the nature of the Kingdom of God-that it would be a literal kingdom to be established on earth by the Messiah, which many Jews of that day understood. Jesus Himself had previously given an entire parable "because they thought that the kingdom of God would immediately appear" (Luke 19:11). Jesus also taught His disciples to pray, "Your kingdom come" (Luke 11:2). This Kingdom, as explained in our free booklet The Gospel of the Kingdom, is the Kingdom that Jesus will establish on earth at His return, not a location in heaven to which we go when we die. Notice also Jesus' response to the man, telling him, "...you will be with Me in Paradise." Understanding the nature of the biblical use of the term paradise is crucial to understanding this passage. The Greek word here translated "paradise," paradeisos, means an enclosed garden or park. In the Septuagint, a Greek translation of the Old Testament in common use at the time of Christ, this same word was used in references to the Garden of Eden. Besides its occurrence in Luke 23:43, the word is used only two other times in the New Testament. In both cases it refers to the place of God's presence. In 2 Corinthians 12:2-4 Paul describes a vision in which he "was caught up into Paradise." Paul says this paradise was in "the third heaven"-the dwelling place of God. Jesus tells us that "the tree of life" is located "in the midst of the Paradise of God" (Revelation 2:7). Revelation 22:2 explains that the tree of life is to be in the New Jerusalem. God will come from heaven with this New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:2-3) after the resurrections of the dead mentioned in Revelation 20. Only at that time will men dwell with God in this paradise. Furthermore, the restoration of the land of Israel that will take place under the coming reign of Christ is compared in Isaiah 51:3 to the Garden of Eden-again, paradeisos in the Septuagint. Putting together all these scriptures, we can see that the paradise Christ mentioned, in which men will dwell with God in His Kingdom, is to be at a future time. How do we know this was Christ's meaning? Again, as noted above, Jesus plainly said He was going to be dead and buried for the following three days and nights, after which He clearly told Mary that He had not yet ascended to heaven. Some theologians and religious denominations try to redefine Christ's use of paradise to say that this referred to where the righteous dead went before Jesus came-a sort of temporary "holding place" next to hell because heaven wasn't available to them until Christ ascended to heaven after His death and opened the way for them to follow. This concept, however, is straight out of pagan Greek mythology about life after death (the Elysian Fields as the section of the Greek underworld for good people) and not something taught in the Bible. The idea that the righteous dead of Old Testament times went to a place called "paradise" and later ascended to heaven after Jesus was resurrected is disproved by the apostle Peter's plain statements in Acts 2:29 and 34-almost two months after Christ's death and resurrection -that King David "is both dead and buried" and "David did not ascend into the heavens." Putting together the relevant scriptures, we can see here the truth of the matter. The robber, facing imminent death while being crucified alongside Jesus (Luke 23:39-41), sought comfort and assurance. Jesus provided it, telling the man, "Assuredly, I say to you today, you will be with Me in Paradise." The "Paradise" of which Jesus spoke wasn't heaven, but the Eden-like world to which the man would be resurrected according to God's plan-as touched on later in this booklet. Hebrew idiom lost in translation Part of His reply, "Assuredly I say to you today" was a "common Hebrew idiom...which is constantly used for very solemn emphasis" (The Companion Bible, Appendix 173, p. 192). Examples of this Hebrew phrase, worded very similarly to Christ's statement, can be found in Deuteronomy 30:18 ("I announce to you today that you shall surely perish") and Acts 20:26 ("Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of all men"-New International Version). Many centuries later, when the punctuation marks we see in our English versions were inserted, Jesus' meaning was distorted by the wrong placement of the comma, and this Hebrew figure of speech was obscured. (Several other Bible translations and reference works, among them the Rotherham Translation, The Emphatic Diaglott, The Concordant Literal New Testament and A Critical Lexicon and Concordance to the English and Greek New Testament, recognize the Hebrew idiom and correctly place the comma after "today" for proper punctuation.) In conclusion, Jesus never said nor implied that the dying man would be in paradise or heaven on that very day. Christ was encouraging him by solemnly assuring him that a time would come, in God's future Kingdom on earth, when the man would be resurrected and would see Jesus again. This dramatic event can be properly understood only when we comprehend the time frame of God's plan of salvation and the promised resurrections described in the Bible.
So where are you saying we go immediately when we die, just in the grave? It says in the Bible "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". How would you explain that?
Those in hades in not mean their all goin. To hell if that’s the case why do they need to go through judgment day when their already damn don’t make sense
Based on you presentation, What happen to the Sons of the Widows to which Elijah and Elisha resurrect sons to, Lazarus Jesus friend was resurrected along other cases mentioned in the Bible, Were each of the individual pull from Heaven or Hell at the wipe of their relatives??l; What about Jesus saying to Mary Magdalene on resurrection morning, "Do not touch me, because I haven't go to my Father" ? This interaction alone will place "Paradise" and "Heave" as to independent and disjointed places. Your explanation never uses the Metaphor that is through the Bible about "Those who sleep." Said about Job, David, Moses and Many other kings. Used also By Jesus and Paul. So it seems that this was ither incomplete or purposely cherry picked.

OK this video is so far is ridiculous he’s reinterpreting it it doesn’t paradise in heaven or two different places. Jesus did not he went in one side of hell out the other then he took captivity captive and took it to heaven that’s why he has now enlarged but hell and paradise we’re down in the same place as the great goal fix in between the two you can see it right in Luke 1616 but I’m not gonna waste anymore time I’m about a minute of the video and the guy don’t know what he’s talking about so
Disciple said if the dead rise not those who are fallen asleep in christ are perished. Compare with Ecc.9:5 to 10 kjv. No consciousness. Word means bliss and also garden. ? Jesus is the second Adam. He pulled him into the kingdom of God which he already said is WITHIN YOU. Paradise doesnt stricly mean heaven but heaven does. Tree of life in the midst of the garden . Tree of life in yhe mists of the paradise of God says same? Read.
Not surely. this video contains speculation and imagination. First there was not punctuation in the Bible so nobody is sure to add a coma in the sentence. For example "I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." could be "I tell you the truth today... You will be with me in paradise." Because let the reader understand. Jesus did NOT go to Heaven that day. Jesus died and descended in to Sheol for three days. so therefore you must have the coma in teh wrong spot. Sorry! Additional speculation in this video, the narrator claims that John is the disciple that Jesus loved. This is not fact. It is possible and more likely that Lazarus is the disciple who Jesus loved. Lazarus is called "the one you love". It also makes more sense that it was Lazarus at the cross, to whom Jesus said "this is your mother". Because Lazarus had a stable home, while the apostles were to be scattered and go out spreading the Gospel, so why leave Mary to John if John is scattered and fled and destined to spread the Gospel and die?
The Bible never calls hell or any part of hell as paradise. It is mentioned only three times in the King James Bible and is always there UP ABOVE, in the third heaven. No scripture points to paradise in hell. Throughout the Bible hell is depicted as a place of punishment, torment, a very bad place. This teaching comes from jewish fables that the Bible commands us to avoid.
If the lake of fire is also eternal, then these also have eterenal life, bcs their soul continues to live in that place. . that contradicts Jesus who says only thiose who believe in Him have eternal life. thoughts?

Sheol is the land of the dead, satan's headquarters (which he doesn't like and feels exceedingly discontent there), where the souls of the damned are. The Lake of Fire is even worse, and a location that satan himself fears, and is the final destination for all of the fallen angels and souls in Sheol, including the devil. The Kingdom of Heaven is the LORD's headquarters, and the place where people go when they pass or are raptured (translated) and have the sin debt paid in full by Christ Jesus at the Cross. Armageddon is when satan places his false prophet and beast on the earth, "And that no man might buy or sell, except he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name." That time is close, but not here yet. Then comes the Kingdom Age: Jesus rules Jerusalem, all the people in Heaven come down to Earth and reign with Him, and satan is cast in prison for a thousand years. Then satan is released from his prison, he gathers the whole world against Christ Jesus and his reigning servants, and is devoured by the LORD's flame, which sends satan forever into the Lake of Fire. Then comes the world made anew; the curse of the Earth (needing to tend plants to make them produce fruit, exhaustion from effort, parasites, diseases, insects having stingers, predators such as lions and sharks trying to eat people, and even thorns on roses) is lifted, and The LORD, Christ Jesus, and all of His servants _reign_ on the Earth together forever!
So the devil lied to you; you will not serve in Heaven forever, you will return to the Earth and _reign_ _with_ God forever. The devil is a liar. Trust the LORD.

Have you trusted in Christ as your Lord and Savior? If so, He says you are saved and there is none you can do to lose this salvation. We are saved by grace only, there is no work you can do to help get your salvation by your own (Eph 2:8). As well, there is nothing you can do to lose your salvation, once you believe, you are regenerated and sealed with The Holy Spirit (Eph 4:30). His grace has saved you once and forever and it is impossible to lose your salvation and get it back (Heb 6:4-6)
@@almay9962 Thank God our salvation does not depend on us, we will fail and many times also doubt God's Word, however, He is loyal and can't lie, He has said "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24). So again, if you have believed, then be sure you are saved and there is nothing that you can do to lose your salvation as it is not depending on you, but on Him. I would recommend making a habit of prayer and reading your Bible, as you do so you'll grow in Spirit and seal your conviction of salvation.
Jews don't believe in an eternal hell. They believe in a place of purging of sins before you move on to Heaven. Sounds a lot like Purgatory, funny there is very little discussion of this clear departure from Christianity.
This is not even close to correct... You all usually do a good job, but miss this one terribly! Abraham's bosom was a parable.. Not reflecting a true place or heaven.. A horrible interuptation.. Sheol is the grave.. Not hell!! Souls are not immortal, this is Greek mythology along with Hades, the god of the underworld.. Gehanna was a physical place in the time of Christ
Do you have any Biblical references to the above? The Bible doesn't say that the story of Lazarus and the rich man was a parable - whenever Jesus teaches a parable, the Bible specifically says as much, but not in that one (Luke 16:19). Souls are definitely immortal. There are numerous references of eternal reward (Matthew 25:46; Mark 10:30; John 3:15-16, 10:28; Romans 6:23; Hebrews 9:12-15; 1 John 2:25) and eternal punishment (Matthew 18:8, 25:41-46; Mark 3:29; 2 Thessalonians 1:9; Hebrews 6:2) - it wouldn't make sense for the reward and judgment to be called eternal if the person experiencing either are not immortal.
Also, Sheol is not JUST THE GRAVE… it is a much more. Psalm 16:10 states… For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption. So Sheol is not only a resting place for the dead flesh BUT as the Psalmist clearly states a place where one’s Soul (Naphesh) can go. It’s also seen as abandonment if God allows his Soul to enter Sheol. Psalm 86:13 states….. For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. Once again, we have deliverance of the Soul from Sheol. Also, it speaks of Sheol in a more spacial fashion . It mentions the depth of Sheol, as if it was much more than simply a resting place or grave, for rotting flesh and bones. Jonah 2:2 states….. Saying, “I called out to the Lord, out of my distress, and he answered me; out of the belly of Sheol I cried, and you heard my voice. Once again, Sheol is spacial and Jonah is being delivered from this “place”. There is also a comparison of the belly of Sheol and the belly of the great fish, to speak to it as a place that one’s Soul will dwell in. Job 14:13 states… Oh that you would hide me in Sheol, that you would conceal me until your wrath be past, that you would appoint me a set time, and remember me! This is a perfect example to understand that Sheol in the OT and Hades in the NT are one in the same. While Sheol can mean simply the grave, the examples I gave along with many others show , it is much more. So in this verse, Job is actually asking for deliverance but it’s much different. He is asking God to spare him, in Sheol . So this def fits the narrative that Sheol is a place where the “dead” rest…. Awaiting the Judgement…. There are so many more verses but I don’t have all day… you get the point. And that last verse really killed your falsehood that Souls don’t live forever. Job asked God to hide his Soul in Sheol, until His wrath has past and he would be remembered, so he could eternally live in the presence of God. Greek myth… lol… that’s cute…. Job is the oldest book in the Hebrew Bible…. Superseding any ideologies of Greek Hades.

The Catholic Jerusalem Bible, in a footnote, states that this is a "parable in story form without reference to any historical personage." Jesus always used illustrations to teach those who were listening. If the rich man were in a literal place of burning torment, would not the fire evaporate the water on Lazarus' fingertip? Even if it were not evaporated, would a single drop of water bring the rich man lasting relief from his suffering in a literal fire? And how could Abraham be alive in heaven, since Jesus clearly stated that up to the time Jesus related the parable, no one had gone to heaven? [John 3:13]
I always think of Bob's bosom from Fight Club (Bob had bitchtits, LOL) when I hear about Abraham's bosom. The main character had peace with weeping into Bob's bosom.
Thank you Jesus! I’m forever grateful for you ❤️
Heaven and Abrahams bosom are 2 completely different places.
Remember the rich man and Lazarus. we understand at the coming of Christ, the dead shall arise from the world of the dead to be judged either of good deeds or bad deeds,
then both death and Hades will be thrown into the lake of fire.
I want to teach this tomorrow, but I don't have scriptures to back the fact it up... If you could help please@@OpiaAnthony

It takes more than just believing in God to miss Hell. There is obedience to God's will that Believer's must submit to.
John 3 makes it clear... We must be born of water (flesh) and born again (in spirit). Once born again, we receive the Holy Spirit, as a helper within us, to help us turn from sin and instead turn to (choose) God's will. This is repentance. Is this what you mean?

And do people still go to Sheol/ hades?
If Lord Jesus ascended to heaven upon his sacrifice for our sins, how come when Mary Magdalene comes to hug Him, He says: " Do not touch Me because I have not ascended to My father?"

many preachers tell paradise is a waiting room for belivers who are dead till the day of judgement
So after judgement day they will be moved to heaven or hell depending on their deeds...
Well said Sophia! GotQuestions blew this one…

Yeah he didn’t, he went to Abraham’s bosom and got the people out of there and got the keys to death
The idea that heaven as far as Gods throne room and paradise has easily been disproven.
Amen GQ 🙂✝️🙏
Thanks for the clarification
Thanks again for this insightful video. I will be glad to know why God will at the end destroy or send to hell His own children He created.
How many will still believe if it wasn't a fear of hell ...

@@michaellorusso4912 nope if you read the bible carefully, it is not eternal. It is not existing, which is the biggest punishment you can have. A just God doesn't punish the souls he made forever, they simply won't exist again at the end by their own evil freewill/decisions

❤
Jesus Christ hung dying, He told a convicted criminal being crucified with Him, "Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise" (Luke 23:43). Many people think Jesus assured the man he would go to heaven with Him that very day. But is this really what He meant?
The placement of the comma after "you" and before "today" would certainly seem to indicate this. However, notice how an entirely different meaning is conveyed if the comma is placed after "today" rather than before: "Assuredly, I say to you today, you will be with Me in Paradise."
No punctuation in the original Bible texts
We need to first understand that original texts of the Bible (Greek for the New Testament and Hebrew and some Aramaic for the Old Testament) used no punctuation.
As Dr.
Notice the apostle Paul's clear statement in 1 Corinthians 15:3-4: "For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures."
Notice what Christ told Mary soon after He had been resurrected: "Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father" (John 20:17).
Future Kingdom and paradise on earth
A fundamental principle for sound Bible study is to carefully check the context.
The idea that the righteous dead of Old Testament times went to a place called "paradise" and later ascended to heaven after Jesus was resurrected is disproved by the apostle Peter's plain statements in Acts 2:29 and 34-almost two months after Christ's death and resurrection -that King David "is both dead and buried" and "David did not ascend into the heavens."
Putting together the relevant scriptures, we can see here the truth of the matter.
Hebrew idiom lost in translation
Part of His reply, "Assuredly I say to you today" was a "common Hebrew idiom...which is constantly used for very solemn emphasis" (The Companion Bible, Appendix 173, p.
(Several other Bible translations and reference works, among them the Rotherham Translation, The Emphatic Diaglott, The Concordant Literal New Testament and A Critical Lexicon and Concordance to the English and Greek New Testament, recognize the Hebrew idiom and correctly place the comma after "today" for proper punctuation.)
In conclusion, Jesus never said nor implied that the dying man would be in paradise or heaven on that very day.
Sheol is where jezebeel and all her followers wind up
Absolutely scary. Man just turn to Jesus. So much better on this side.
John 3:16
Humans who go to the lake of fire will not live forever as they do not have eternal life instead they will be destroyed the angels who have fallen will live forever as they are eternal but they will receive the torment
Hades is not just a place, it is both a place in the underworld and the name of the divine ruler of that place.
All hail Lord Hades and Lady Persephone.
For example
"I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise." could be "I tell you the truth today... You will be with me in paradise."
Because let the reader understand.
If the lake of fire is also eternal, then these also have eterenal life, bcs their soul continues to live in that place. . that contradicts Jesus who says only thiose who believe in Him have eternal life. thoughts?
See my comments in other messages. This guy is leading his flock astray 😢
False. Paradise is not a synonym for heaven.
This year seems slow, especially financially I feel like inflation is affecting majority of us😞
Hang in there. I don’t know what you’re going through, but God is good. Turn to Him ❤ trust in Him to help you through these times. I’ll be praying for you! In the meantime, try to look online, TH-cam even, for videos and articles on how to adjust and be more financially literate. That may help 😊 I may even suggest taking a community college course on economics if you can. God bless love!
Actually that's all wrong.
Abrahams bosom is not heaven . Its an idiom and NT its children of Christ threw seed of Abraham. Wheres it say in talmud its heaven? And Talmud was wtote after christ to cover up christ i hear.
Jesus, nor the Hebrew Bible he interpreted, endorsed the view that departed souls go to paradise. christianity was created in the second century hundreds of years after his death, he never practiced the religion. Those words were put in his mouth. Read whatever you want in that book. Those are the facts. got questions? Led me astray so many times during my tenure as a Christian. It is nothing but another apologist entity.
Jesus did NOT use the word Paradise as a synonym for Heaven. Paradise is here on Earth
if I am a lukewarm Christian,, will I still make it to Heaven or will I be blotted out the book of life
Have you trusted in Christ as your Lord and Savior? If so, He says you are saved and there is none you can do to lose this salvation. We are saved by grace only, there is no work you can do to help get your salvation by your own (Eph 2:8). As well, there is nothing you can do to lose your salvation, once you believe, you are regenerated and sealed with The Holy Spirit (Eph 4:30). His grace has saved you once and forever and it is impossible to lose your salvation and get it back (Heb 6:4-6)
@@jesant0s sometimes I doubt my salvation am I still saved?
Who needs enemies when you have ‘friends’ that will burn you alive for eternity?
This is not even close to correct... You all usually do a good job, but miss this one terribly! Abraham's bosom was a parable.. Not reflecting a true place or heaven.. A horrible interuptation.. Sheol is the grave.. Not hell!! Souls are not immortal, this is Greek mythology along with Hades, the god of the underworld.. Gehanna was a physical place in the time of Christ
While a parable , it was still a symbol for the functionality of the underworld. Just as ALL Jesus’ parables did.
Psalm 16:10 states…
For you will not abandon my soul to Sheol, or let your holy one see corruption.
Job 14:13 states…
Oh that you would hide me in Sheol, that you would conceal me until your wrath be past, that you would appoint me a set time, and remember me!
@@dfacedagame wow I wish I could sit and talk to you all day there's so many things in the Bible that I need better understanding with I've been a Christian since 2018 and still learning and growing everyday but I've come so far from where I was thank you for explaining God bless you my brother from Pennsylvania
When the word “SHEOL” -Shay-ole cannot even be pronounced correctly, I’m not gonna believe anything else you say sorry
