One of the most grossly under praised performances I've ever seen on film. Aaron's work in this was so brilliant it engaged me--and I'm not even into superhero movies! Everyone was amazing in this yes, however it was Mr. Eckhart mostly and then Mr. Ledger (a well deserved Oscar and may he RIP) that made me watch this movie FOUR TIMES. I rarely watch any film more than once. Aaron showed remarkable passion and range. He should have gotten at LEAST an Oscar nod/nomination--if not his own statue. The Academy dropped the ball on this one big time. The entire movie in every department--writing, special effects, and so on was simply top-notch. Plus for me, as a woman, it didn't hurt my viewing pleasure at all that Aaron is a serious hottie to infinity (+12)!
Agree with you Unjaded Realist: I've said it many times before and maintain that due to Heath's stellar perforformance, many initally do not fully register the quality of the performances from the rest of these great actors. My friends and I love Christian, best Batman yet, and what need's to be said about Caine, and Morgan can do no wrong.. But Especially Aaron and and Gary.. Strange how Aaron had me sympathizing with him as much as I had if not more than with Oldman's Dracula and it make's me think that Gary most probably was an influence and mentor in this respect to Aaron
So agree with you that Aaron Eckhart was amazing as Harvey Two Face. When I think of this film I think of Harvey and Joker as the two performances that stand way out. Batman is definitely in the background in this film for better or worse.
If heath hadnt died, Aaron's performance would be the most talked about. His transformation was amazing. While playing crazy is no easy task, Eckhart played both sane and crazy and allowed us to watch him as he changed. I think that is even more impressive.
i felt he had a harder character to play than heath ledger since his character went through a huge emotionsl changes through out the movie. who else agrees
Yes definitely. Joker did have an arc unlike what most people might think but it's a very small arc compared to Dent. Joker is a pretty consistently inconsistent character.
I really appreciate this interview. It didn't feel like puckering up and sugarcoating. Those were genuine questions and those were answered very honestly. Thanks
actally, for dent, before watching the movie, i thot he turned insane because of his face but later, i found tht because of the loss of his love one, this caused me to feel sympathetic to him.
great interview. it really made me realize that two-face was more like the anti-hero, rather than than an actual villain, well except for the ending, of course lol. and that hole in the nose bothered me too lol.
I think Aaron deserved a little more credit for his performance in the movie. The Joker and Two Face are two very diffrent villians. And Both Heath and Arron did an amazing job in there performance
I can't stretch enough how brilliant Eckhart was in this role and how brilliant was the character in general. I loved that Two-Face is born at the end of the second act. The journey is more important than the end. If you don't develop Harvey Dent, Two-Face means nothing as a character. The Long Halloween, the comic on which this movie was heavily based on, understood that as well. Which is why, like in the movie, Two-Face appears only at the climax of the story.
Mostly every character is interesting. Every actor he mentioned brought some realism and interest to the role. Even side characters like Coleman Reese.
Aaron Eckhart Pretty Nice Guy!!!! He’s from The Dark Knight, Battle: Los Angeles, The Dark Knight Rises, Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen, Midway……..Movies Everything……He’s Best Scenes ❤️💛❤️💛❤️
I'll add that Batman not only fell from a shorter distance than from where Harvey was standing (remember, Batman was hanging from the edge for a minute), but his fall was broken by some wood. Harvey was TACKLED off and fell straight down. He probably hit the ground HARD. Batman's suit may have also helped soften the blow. So the fact that Batman survived is really not saying anything.
He's not necessarily 'dead'. Nolan considers him dead as of now, but it was left ambiguously in case that is to change. It was more about the 'death' of Harvey at the end of the movie, while Two-Face could still be alive. And Aaron Eckhart has enthusiastically agreed to reprise the role if it comes to that.
Why did Aaron NOT get an Oscar for his role?! He was just as good as Heath Ledger in my opinion! I wanted BOTH to win Oscars. I'm glad that Heath Ledger got one, but I feel bad that Aaron is really underrated in this film :(
SPOILER The directors themselves have said that his 'death' was ambiguous as to wether he actually died or not, so he could come back, also notice how when he was pushed the coin landed on the clean side? I think he'll be back
When I first watched the movie, I thought the reason it was called the Dark Knight was because Harvey had gone from being the White Knight to the Dark... Anyways, that was just my opinion. By the end I realized it was always Batman. Simply the best movie ever.
I think Aaron Eckhart is an amazing and charismatic actor. In my opinion he will the perfect man for an movie about the life of Hugh Hefner. Please agree!
I don't think they should have killed Dent. Not because I want to see him fight Batman again, but because they need to start putting some faces in Arkham. Having Scarecrow, Two-Face, and Joker interacting with eachother in Arkham would put together some really great scenes for future movies, and it's a shame they denied themselves of that opportunity. Sure, they can still have Joker and Scarecrow, but it would still be more interesting to put Two Face in there as well.
Dude you nailed it.For a long time I've said Brad Pitt,he is a great character actor, just look at Fight Club. Some have even said Guy Pearce,no arguements there on that one, another great actor.Hey I'm Australian. Eckhart hands down.Daredevil needs that current Batman treatment. It deserves to be treated high drama set in a comic book world. No doubt pple will compare. When I read Daredevil it felt real to me,it had gravity so does Batman. All it needs is a little push.
*ANOTHER SPOILER*********** earlier in the movie, batman had also fallen from a high rise to catch someone and survived. i think his suit enables 'hollywood' style shock absorption.
I don't think two face is actually dead, at the end I'm pretty sure his funeral was a farce; as for the joker, he was actually supposed to die in the end, but the scene was cut out because they thought the audience wouldn't find it tasteful.
In fairness Dent and Batman both fell from the same place , but Batman gets up and runs off no problem. It could raise questions and i wouldnt mind Dent returning.
@EventuallyWeMerge that's true, I totally forgot about that little interrogation he had lol I agree Aaron did an amazing job and I loved the scenes that did foreshadow his downfall into two-face the whole movie was all around perfect! :D
they never showed the funeral they only showed the dedication. And as a directer this is how I'd do it; he'd be picked up by some bad guy (the joker, Ra's, whatever and they revive him with the public thinking he died in such a way there was no body), and he goes on to be the mob lord two face (in the comics he was a mob lord but with the movie he was so human that I'd say he'd do terrible thing just due to the loss that he'd channel it towards the police the good and bad as well as the city.
yeah he does! i liked 2 Face as much as the joker he was just so evil like when he would flip a coin to see if you lived or died he would flip it again if u survived XD Joker and 2 Face are my favorite baddies!
nolan please bring back aaron and resurrect harvey dent! aaron's great performance just scratched the surface of how much of a complex villain two face can be!
@jm28ish definitely but I wish that they would have shown his evil side more before he changed. Like I mean before he became two face, he already had a second personality sorta. That made him do bad stuff when he got mad or frustrated. I wished it would have come out in the movie more but there was just that one scene in the court room. Still was a fantastic job though!
He doesn't seem wierd. He seems pretty down to earth for an actor and fairly humble. "You don't wanna suck, first of all." LOL! Plus he played a much better Harvey/Two-Face then Tommy Lee Jones!
We know he becomes two face... but we didn't know the ins and the outs of the make up among other things. There were clear SPOILERS in this interview which were not disclosed.

The Dark Knight had so many great actors. Eckhart, Ledger, Oldman, and Bale did just spectacular at their roles.
What about gynnhall and Freeman
Also Michael Caine
Best. Two-Face. Ever.
Prodigy Of Rock Probably had something to do with him not trying to one-up Heath Ledger
If heath hadnt died, Aaron's performance would be the most talked about.

I loved aarons two face i just wished so much that his actual two face had more screen time.
Aaron Eckhart is such a good actor! I loved him in TDK.
I really appreciate this interview. It didn't feel like puckering up and sugarcoating. Those were genuine questions and those were answered very honestly.
Thanks
Hi! Its been 15 years. You still there?
I loved his performance in The Dark Knight! =)
heath legend
do you think everyone is corruptible? good question i like this interviewer
actally, for dent, before watching the movie, i thot he turned insane because of his face but later, i found tht because of the loss of his love one, this caused me to feel sympathetic to him.
great interview. it really made me realize that two-face was more like the anti-hero, rather than than an actual villain, well except for the ending, of course lol.
and that hole in the nose bothered me too lol.
" MADNESS, AS YOU KNOW, IS LIKE GRAVITY.... ALL IT TAKES IS A LITTLE PUSH! HA HA HA"
Dark, Brilliant & True. I'm glad they didn't kill the character.
I love him as two-face! He looked so cool.
I think Aaron deserved a little more credit for his performance in the movie. The Joker and Two Face are two very diffrent villians. And Both Heath and Arron did an amazing job in there performance
I wanna meet this guy cause he plays my favorite batman villain of all time.
Agree totally, think hes overlooked in this film abit. He puts in a great performance
I like this guy. He's humble..they all are really.
LOL, I concur. The expression on his face. He froze and thought, who?, me?, MUAAA?
Man Aaron Eckhart is so under-rated! Great actor in a great role in a great movie, you gotta love that
This guy deserved an Oscar, how did they not nominate him? His performance in Thank You for Smoking deserved one too.
What a thoughtful guy!
4:18 "liked it doesn even cover it" You said it bro.
The Dark Knight is full of such great actors ...
I can't stretch enough how brilliant Eckhart was in this role and how brilliant was the character in general. I loved that Two-Face is born at the end of the second act. i'd love too see a Heath Interview about the dark knight.
he played both harvey dent and two-face extremely well.
His chin alone is more masculine than me.
"Maybe. If I'm up to it."
"What if Harvey Dent is The Caped Crusader?"
Mostly every character is interesting. Every actor he mentioned brought some realism and interest to the role. Even side characters like Coleman Reese.
Even the prisoner who got rid of the detonator was brilliant
Aaron Eckhart is humble.
its great
"Everybody was on their A game."
Aaron was Amazing as Two-Face!
Aaron Eckhart rocks. Superb performance in Dark Knight.
I've got a feeling Aaron is going to amaze us all almost and maybe just as much as Ledger.
another great watch!
Aaron Eckhart Pretty Nice Guy!!!! He’s from The Dark Knight, Battle: Los Angeles, The Dark Knight Rises, Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen, Midway……..Movies Everything……He’s Best Scenes ❤️💛❤️💛❤️
WOW, Aaron looked like he wanted to kill him when he revealed those details on two-face's appearance.
he was awsome in this movie!
he played a terrifying two face in this film props
Amen!
I'll add that Batman not only fell from a shorter distance than from where Harvey was standing (remember, Batman was hanging from the edge for a minute), but his fall was broken by some wood. I agree, his got the hair color, voice and even the facial hair for the character snake. =]
Everyone talks about Heath’s performance, but no one speaks about him - what a great job did he do!
thank you

Best Two-Face I've Ever Seen In A Batman Movie
Tons of people talk about Heath being amazing, but I think Aaron was overlooked...his Two Face was outstanding
Aaron Eckhart is such a cool guy.
Aaron was fuckin brilliant as Harvey, give the man an oscar!
SPOILER
The directors themselves have said that his 'death' was ambiguous as to wether he actually died or not, so he could come back, also notice how when he was pushed the coin landed on the clean side? I think he'll be back
Couldn't agree more. He brought his A-game.
Aaron is so magnetic!
Good interview !!
Best advice ever from him, "...you just don't wanna suck" 2:56
This Chuck guy is killing me!
YESSSSSS!!!!
I think they will still bring back Two face in that classic "oh he was dead, but not really" comic book style.
Two Face was awesome...was in between Batman and Joker (GOOD/BAD).
When I first watched the movie, I thought the reason it was called the Dark Knight was because Harvey had gone from being the White Knight to the Dark... Anyways, that was just my opinion. By the end I realized it was always Batman.
Simply the best movie ever.
@jazzmatik He was featured in the movie...
Aaron actually lightened his hair to appear more "dashing" as the heroic Harvey Dent.
definitely yes i agree
He accidently gave him "The Glance" which is something i don't wish to describe in detail...
AWESOME MOVIE!
the movie was Gold
Aaron Eckhart for "Best Supporting Actor" for role of Two Face in The Dark Knight at Oscars 2009! I believe in Harvey Dent.
I think Aaron Eckhart is an amazing and charismatic actor. In my opinion he will the perfect man for an movie about the life of Hugh Hefner. Please agree!
No! God no! You want Aaron Eckhart to play that sleazy, over-rated, cheesy, boring, old-assed glorified pimp? Hell no. Let John Hamm play that creep.
fantastic actor. Movieman is right, everyone brought their A-game and the entire film was perfect.
I don't think they should have killed Dent. Not because I want to see him fight Batman again, but because they need to start putting some faces in Arkham. earlier in the movie, batman had also fallen from a high rise to catch someone and survived.
i think his suit enables 'hollywood' style shock absorption.
I love you aaron!! XD
Eckhart will own as Two-Face
@themenaceanish It's easy to say that about a flamboyant performance, but Eckhart was definitely on top.
I don't think two face is actually dead, at the end I'm pretty sure his funeral was a farce; as for the joker, he was actually supposed to die in the end, but the scene was cut out because they thought the audience wouldn't find it tasteful.

Dude this Chuckthemovieguy's pretty good
I believe he's already signed up for another movie! (as Two Face)
Yeah totally!
poor harvey dent i hope they make him a sympathetic character for future batman movies
He revieled details about his appearance.
There is no doubt that he deserved an Oscar Nomination, at least. Ledger still would've won, though... Great performances in this movie...
that is completely true !
He seems like a really down-to-earth guy...
I didn't see what you mean. I immediately knew who he was. He was cool.
best Two-Face ever.
yeah he does! i liked 2 Face as much as the joker he was just so evil like when he would flip a coin to see if you lived or died he would flip it again if u survived XD Joker and 2 Face are my favorite baddies!
nolan please bring back aaron and resurrect harvey dent! aaron's great performance just scratched the surface of how much of a complex villain two face can be!
Aaron ekart should been nominated for best suporting actor with heath leager
aaron is so so so handsome and cute...
Batman, Harvey and Joker are the best!!!
