Must Have Tool Added to Simbrief - GA Flight Planning & DC-6 Navigation | MSFS

Simbrief have added a much sought after feature for those General Aviation pilots who use 'old-school' traditional navigation (VOR & NDBs).
Navigraph recently acquired simbrief and have added some new features to the website which is great news for pilots of the DC-6 from PMDG.
This video takes you through the newly added features and the new ways that you can create a route for either commerical (GPS) airliners or traditional VOR navigation.

Excellent video !. Many thanks. Would love to see a tutorial of you flying the DC 6 via those radio beacons for a route in the U.K. as you demonstrated. But showing us how to download it from SimBrief to the DC 6 and how to fly old school via these beacons to the destination airport.

Personally I still prefer LittleNavMap for planning a VOR/NDB flight, but it’s great to see SimBrief is also moving in this direction. Regarding your UK routing, many VORs in the UK are TACANs, which don’t work for regular planes (at least in MSFS without Navigraph)

POL & DCS are full VORs which you should be able to pick up quite easily.

Old navigation methods included hyperbolic navigation systems such as Omega, Loran/Consol.
I can also remember doppler nav systems amd ofcourse Carousel IV IRS.

Little Nav Map still the way to go rather than an automatic flight plan you can basically right click your way up the UK planning the quickest and safest route. In a single prop 152 flying in the UK makes no sense to fly over large bodies of water for instance.

I don’t know if anyone can help, since the new update the sim won’t import my flight plans from sim brief. Furthermore, when I try to manually enter them no waypoint are recognised. Any help appreciated

How could we automate FIRs to be avoided as per NOTAMS? Currently this would include, as examples, Afghanistan and parts of Morocco and Pakistan.

If they are TACANs then they only work within about 25 miles.
