Have a little patience, Michigan football fans

  • Michigan football beat Minnesota in a very similar fashion to how it beat USC, with a final score of 27-24, falling apart in the second half, and letting the other team get within a whisper of leaving The Big House with a victory. And many Michigan fans are very unhappy with the win, but we see a lot of bright spots -- and we're not just looking on the sunny side of the street.
The offense needs some time to put things together, and it's really close. Will it get there? We can't say for sure, but we've seen a lot of signs, both in the execution and the playcalling. The defensive lapses in the second half notwithstanding, there are some positives to take away, but fans should adjust their expectations and take each week as it comes.

They’re several things people and the media are overlooking, when you can run the ball, stop the run, and play good special teams, and have a good kicker, you will WIN a lot of games, all of which UM is excelling at right now. If orji keeps getting better every week they will be in the hunt for a big-ten title.

Correct, but they need to utilize orgy to his full potential. Which is running. Not passing. Limited passing. Expand the playbook to spread the defense. Defense needs to play a whole game.

When you’re at rock bottom the only thing you can do is go up. Not much of an improvement here. Still under 100 yards passing. 90% of his completions for the year are swing passes and screens. A couple small 5 yard drag/slant routes. If Michigan can complete more than 5 downfield passes in a game it’s a miracle!

6:15 they changed some stuff up, and added a few things which should have been done like, putting Edwards in as a receiver. Obviously more passing attempts, but the game plan and calling are still horrible.
Difference between Milroe, and Orji are the coaches. Alabama, and Saban knew they had to change the game up just for him. Michigan is not doing that.

    • @golfboy488
      @golfboy488 20 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

Respectfully there’s a miles between Milroe and Orji. He throws it better (although to better receivers) and runs it better. I’m not sold as Orji as a runner - Strong and tough yes but not that explosive or elusive. IMO

@@golfboy488 well, I wasn't specifying they're on the same level as far as talent goes. I was more referring to the coaches. Alabama coaches took the steps they needed to take to change up the offensive scheme for Milroe. Meanwhile, Michigan coaches are just throwing Orji out there in pocket pass scenarios, trying to force the pass. Or they just run a vanilla read option. Orji can be a great runner, and even pass a little bit. We'll probably never be able to find out if they keep running this play calling scheme.

Look when Michigan coaches are not telling Orji to snap the ball at the last second with the clock running, that is an indication of poor coaching and play calling. That last Michigan drive was awful in every single way. Not to mention they decided to throw the ball on third down with the clock on their side? Makes zero sense. They almost gave Minnesota a chance to win and to be honest, that onside kick call was incorrect and Minnesota should have had the ball. A win is a win in my book, but coaching is not looking so hot in my opinion. I get it though. A lot to learn from all the coaching changes and all of the injuries Michigan has been dealing with. I seen enough in the first half to understand this teams potential and it looks promising. If Michigan can figure out how to play fundamental football for all 4 quarters and continues to improve game per game I think they can make the CFP.
I am even optimistic about beating Ohio State, if Michigan can get home with 4, execute the bend but don't break D ESPECIALLY in the secondary, coupled with successfully running the ball I see this being very simular to the 2021 game where Cj Stroud threw for 394yards and 2 TD's. i don't see Michigan scoring 42 points but I can see us scoring 27-35 if the above can be true.
I think this season, the Big10 Title and CFP hopes truly rely mainly on the coaches ability to draft an offense that can score 3/4 TD's and 2/3FG's a game and the defense executing the bend but don't break philosophy while stopping the run (EX: CJ threw for 400 yards and only got 14 points & 64 rushing yards) and if they can do this come November the Wolverines could defiantly surprise everyone.
I have been all in on Alex Orgi since JJ declared, with that said, if Jack Tuttle gets healthy (which I think does happen come atleast November) LOOK OUT for that too, that could honestly be the biggest X factor of the season. If Tuttle gets healthy this could be a complete turn around. I haven't seen Alex Orgi look dynamic as a runner, he is more of a power back with good lateral ability than a shifty Blake Corum. With that said, what I have seen of Jack Tuttle, he is everything Alex has shown us with his legs plus what they hoped Davis Warren could be in the passing game.

Did I see some improvement from Orji? yes, was the playcalling/clock management on offense still trash? Yes. There were a couple of bad takes on this video:
    1. Let’s not try to deflect the blame for the interception to Loveland. It was a bad read and a bad throw by Orji. First, You never under throw a receiver in that situation and second he had Donovan open down the sideline so his read was bad.
    2. You can’t compare this team to the 2015 Harbaugh team, that was the brady bunch(remnants from the previous era) and that team was not coming off a 15-0 national championship run.

The fact that they can still pull out a win in what is essentially a trap game as they come off a big win and prepare to hit the road for a couple weeks. Everyone was talking trash about Minnesota last week but they played very well against a defense that got a little gassed in the fourth quarter due to the offense's inability to get a first down. Alex is a tight end trying to play QB. Yes, he can run, and the defense has to account for him, But He Is Not A Threat with His Arm. An opposing team, playing against Michigan with Alez at QB needs to play 4 down lineman, 4 linebackers, 2 corners and 1 safety and Dare Him to Throw. I gave been a Michigan fan for 55 years. Tate Forcier and Dennard Robinson were better and Both could Throw and Run. We are Screwed and must live with this experiment, but Sherron Moore needs to know Rich Rod was 7-6 and got the axe!!!!
    GO BLUE FOREVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hes not a threat with his arm because he isnt allowed to throw lol, nobodys scared of a pass play that the coach wont call, theres nothing wrong with him as a passer on film

Rich rod had some years to get things in order. I think if Michigan gives Moore as much time he will definitely have things in order. Look at the recruiting coming up.

I know you gotta be optimistic and find the good in everything. I appreciate you for that, but we gotta be realistic here. This season has 2020 vibes written all over it. The only difference is we could actually pass the damn ball in 2020.
