If you are from corporate Stelantis and read this- *note that quality has got to improve, and prices have GOT to be reasonable. Asian vehicle grew in sales by leaps and bounds, and you lost market share with high prices and low quality. FIX IT!
I’m one of those who worked at Belvidere assembly plant got transferred to Ohio now I’m one of those who is on second shift and the shift there eliminating so once again facing the same shit I went thru in Belvidere. I hope and pray they put a car back on that line we built good quality cars and are union was the best union in this company local 1268 was family and are union reps supported us daily I won’t to go back home and work in this plant
Apparently, there are two STLA Large platforms. Both are designed for an ICE powertrain. The platform the Charger uses is the version designed for a longitudinal powertrain. That platform is also intended to be used for the big Alfas, and the Cassino plant is being retooled for it. The Waggy S, Recon, and Cherokee are apparently using the version of the platform that is designed for a transverse powertrain. The company spent something like $1.6B retooling the Toluca plant for it. But, as they say, man plans and God laffs. The thought had crossed my mind they could put the STLA-L Trasverse platform in Belvidere. Recently, the company announced a new gen Pacifica, on STLA-L to be introduced in 27. The articles on the wire don't specify which STLA-L platform, but I would expect the transverse one, for space efficiency. So the production slate for Belvidere would be Waggy S (or they could revert to the Chrysler Airflow name they used on the concept), Cherokee, Recon, and Pacifica. I don't know if they could build the STLA-L Longitudinal in Belvidere as well, but that plant did build the Mitsubishi based Patriot/Compass and the Fiat based Dart, at the same time. This all leaves the next gen Compass without a home. It is on STLA-Medium. Supposedly slated for Brampton, but that plan may be gone now, as well as keeping it in Toluca.
This makes sense. They share the STLA Large platform so vehicles can move between those plants. Cherokee will move back to Belvidere and the Jeep Compass will stay in Brampton on the Medium platform
@lynn5060 no, Windsor isn't building any Jeeps. I'm referring to TK's other video where he mentioned Compass would move to Belvidere but he meant to say Cherokee. The Jeep compass will stay in Brampton on the medium platform while the Cherokee will move from Mexico to US because Belvidere and Saltillo are both Large platform
@@av2697 Brampton never closed, it's currently being retooled. Old equipment was taken out and new stuff is being installed. Your thinking about Belvidere that has been idled for over a year and was about to close until the US election and talks of tariffs. Both will be retooled but Belvidere on Large platform and Brampton on Medium platform
Like I told you tk in multiple videos, I order the cars for my dealership and I have ordered 2 Wagoneer s and 3 rt chargers and 3 scat packs and they have both been pushed back probably half a dozen times by now and everything that you say is right, my first rho that I ordered back in April for a customer just shipped so hopefully this won’t be a shit show when it gets here but I think with the right new leadership and not Antonio we can start getting cdjr back to what it used to be
They're playing the right song now. Hope they keep it up. Hope they hadn't unpacked the tooling and stamps down south. Just return to sender. This can qualify as a smart move on Stellantis' part. Need to see more of them. Consecutively.
I worked at BVAP for 12 years and I don’t think they can build anything bigger than the Cherokee, I know they have removed pretty much everything from that plant so maybe with a big retool they would be able to but it’s going to take a lot of work to get everything back together and then if they want something bigger they will have to adjust a lot of things.. It seems like it would be a couple years before they could produce anything there. They messed up already and moved pretty much everything out of the country whooops guess y’all don’t want to pay those tariffs on top of your overly expensive vehicles that are not worth it!!
When I was at the Miami Auto show picking with the people from Jeep they said they are going to be doing a gas version of the wagoneer s what motor it will be? Who knows. I think it was going to be the hurricane but let's hope for v8s
You know what else though I find. Funny is they had better deals on cars in November than they do in December. They were offering almost $20,000 off 4xe, Grand Cherokees and wranglers and now that we're in the month of December, it's only $10,000 off at least at a couple of my dealers in Miami
That is because of the November slump. There is an end of the year slump, but it does not begin until the day after Christmas. The best deals are either had the last day of the year, or January (from my experience).
@@fortheloveofnoisethey keep talking about clearing out inventory before end of 2024 , that's not a good way to do it. Lol but I do agree what you are saying
I was pushed to retire from Belvidere in 2023. This would be great for the ones that can come back. Hope it all comes out to the good for all UAW workers.
Hello TK, hope you having a great time wherever you are at whatever you're doing. I remember watching your video the other day when you were driving back and you had your friend in the car and I'm sorry I didn't catch his name My apologies, but he made a statement of Chrysler coming back with the viper or Dodge coming back with the viper Make it a special edition. I just washed a video called crisis most failed and weirdest cars ever made they made a truck in 2006 called the sidewinder That would be an awesome mind-blowing thing to do whoever takes over a CEO and has good insight to put out there one time The truck and the car.
It’s all good and fine but if the car prices still remain as high as they are they still won’t sell and that means the jobs just won’t be there. Stelantis is gonna have to get pretty creative because as great as it appears, the 25’ year is gonna be a long and slow comeback. Be patient and save your money if you can cause the longer you wait the lower the prices will be. Oh, and like TK says, stay petty 😁👍🏻🇺🇸
@ They’ll change the model packages to become more affordable. They’ll be much more adjustment ahead. Probably incentivized as well. Otherwise they’re toast no matter. Time will tell. 🤷🏼
They never should have discontinued the Cherokee in the first place. That was a really dumb move by Stellantis. I know they said the Compass would fill that gap but it really doesn't.
I interviewed at that belvedere plant 20? years ago. 2nd shift, and the start of their 2 teir system. For around $13.00 an hour. The day shift, teir 1 pay, was over twice what I was offered. Needless to say you know what my answer was to their kind and gracious offer. I cannot imagine that if that plant reopens, the pay and benefits will be any different. Knowing just how bad Stelantis is doing currently...
It’s good news for the auto workers if it all comes to pass. EV’s are not going anywhere anytime soon. DRILL BABY DRILL😂. Keep on sharing ur great info TK. Take care and stay safe.
Here is what Stellantis should be doing. To cut costs on reengineering a new vehicle from ground up The new Wagoneer S should be rebadged and some interior/ exterior design changes as the new Cherokee with a gas powered 2.0 turbo gas engine and optioned with an 2.0 l hybrid that is in the Grand Cherokee or Wrangler. Also the Ram Dakota should be built on the same platform and with the same engine options. Both can and should be built at Belvedere. Chrysler and Dodge should also build something similar as well.
It has less to do with tariffs and more to do with qualifying the vehicles for the EV tax credits. Never forget, the company doesn’t eat the cost of the tariffs. The consumers do.
Stelly be wanting to latch on to the Gov $$$$ Before is goes back to where it belongs !!!! What a screwed up com[any - they need to just clean house at the top - more than just Carlos

The truth if I ever heard it lol 😂
Finishing the wall and mass deportation, no tax on tips, no tax on social security, and all the other things that are about to happen.
