Will the D stock be able to fit through Ryde Tunnel? D stock units conform to the larger surface stock loading gauge, which is why two different generations of tube stock have been used on the Island Line since 1967.
The class 484 will be a shorter version then a class 230 so it will fit

I'm glad i got to travel by mersyrails current stock before it gets replaced, all that's left is isle of whites old tube stock, lner's current stock, northern, and some others. I sadly didn't get to travel by great northern's older mainline units

KievanRus233 They’ve lowered the tracks in Ryde Tunnel, so it wasn’t possible to have sub-surface stock on the Island Line before but now it is I believe
Actually the only thing on these trains that are ex tube is the bodyshell. Everything else will be new.

They're getting rid of the 1938 tube stocks off the Isle Of Wight? I think with replacing them with D stock, they might have to change the platforms!
I'm also disappointed that I might not get to see a class 91 in person because I really like the horns they have!

As a non-train person, I have a question. The Class 68's don't have a yellow front, like every other loco I have seen from HST to Pacers. Why not ? Is this unique to the Class 68 ? I only ask as I saw one the other day and noticed it wasn't Yellow at the front.
Trains as of now don't need yellow fronts anymore due to new DfT (Department for Transport) regulations, so that will explain why some 68s don't have them. Though yellow fronts aren't a requirement on trains nowadays, most still have them, but they could be phasing out in the next few years.

Great video mate! I just wanted to point out what I hate about the new SWR livery... some of the repainted 158s and 159s have the stripes along with 450 111 and 444 040 but in the picture you showed 444 006 has no stripes, neither do the 442s or class 484s. It gets to my OCD!

KievanRus233 Why on earth would they do that? The ones Overground did have were replaced by 378s in 2010 and transferred to Southern, and all other stock is currently being replaced by new 710s as we speak
Southern are keeping the Class 313/2s for little bit longer. Until they decide whether to replace them with new trains or perhaps to inherit the Class 458 5-Car trains from South Western Railway. As of when the Class 701s is to be introduced in service later next year.

91s are being exported for freight in East Europe. Running a 91 and DVT on a freight train would be impossible.

SWR Basically Messed up the AWS on all 442's and 483s are getting scrapped soon SN's Class 313/2s have got a heck of a long time left before retirement
91 and dot are going to Preston to Euston and 90 and dvts on Blackpool to Euston route
Quite frankly, the Class 483s have had an unbelievable innings. 1938-2020 in total and 1988-2020 in retirement is pretty remarkable.

My guess is, they’ll wait until the new franchise to replace them. Southern did spend money on repairing and refurbishing the 313s, so they probably want to make good use of them before they retire at some point in the future

I think the class 455 Southern should go because they are dirty from outside to inside not very good seating. 40 to 35 years old I think they should go to Wales, Northern Rail, Scotland Rail or GWR. GTR Southern Should replace the class 455s get better trains for the Southern Metro area!

SWR are a lot more nicer with Clean Seating and more space, but Southern need more 377s to replace the 455s Southerns. they are older then the 319s that used to run Thameslink now they do Northern and Wales some on GWR . Class 707 would of been better to run some Southern routes like Sutton to Victoria, London Bridge to Beckenham Junction, London Victoria to London Bridge, London Bridge to Caterham.

Crossrail will now open in 15 december right now there doing soft opening
signalwalid25 trainz unfortunately it won’t happen because it is likely to be completed in 2021. But TfL Rail have extended to Reading and are using some Class 345s at peak time and off peak I think.

Down here, GWR revealed they'll be rolling out new stock.... fat lot of good that'll do for me, the line though my station's not electrified and there are no plans to electrify it (Bath / Exeter - Waterloo) so we're stuck with 153's and 158's. Shame the LUL A Stock fastest 4 rail train ( 5000-5001 set 1960 86 mph) all scrapped no example saved now Class 442 fastest 3rd rail (2401 1988 108 mph) will that go the same way.They will scrap Mullard next followed by all the HST's. not to mention The Flying Scotsman (first train 100 mph) the class 442 is of historical interest don't let it go the way of the A Stock.
