Lovedelic died not because of low sales, but rather due to artistic desires. After creating UFO, that team left and founded their own company, and after L.O.L., a good chunk of the staff left again.
The people left basically thought that they were not LoveDeLic anymore, and basically disbanded (and later formed Skip
This is why they aren't listed as going bankrupt, but are classified as disbanded (although L.O.L. selling terribly didn't help

Besides Petscop, another piece of media that I feel resembles Moon w/out its creators saying they were influenced by it, is Wandersong, in which you play a Bard who uses his kindness and music to try and save the world from destruction as a hero goes around killing the gods of that Universe. There's so much about trying to help communities and people, and the hatred and love in all that, the inevitability of tragedy, and the hope that continues anyway, that Moon reminds me of. Moon and Undertale really helped lay some of the foundations for more varied non-fighting adventure games to bloom and thrive.

There's actually a trick to the Robot simon says minigame:
The lower his batteries are, the slower the minigame will be. If you catch him right as he starts charging, it will be really easy.

first knew about it when browsing through a jpn LPer's playlist ages ago. while i couldn't understand shit, the gameplay was easy to understand enough and i was really mesmerized by its unique storytelling and style for a game made in the 90s. being a long time fan of the mother series and liking weird out of the box/trope defying kind of games like it, this was right up my alley. but there was barely anything about it on eng net back then. it was so obscure i only found like 2 or 3 sites mentioning it.Never thought i'd see the day this long forgotten treasure get a revival with an actual official english translation and the proper recognition it really deserves.

I'll tell you why you hadn't come across Battle Network until now: the painful-to-navigate areas with no map, random encounters in a game without an experience system, and to even RUN from the usually-useless encounters, you need to waste space in your chip deck by adding (and hoping you draw) a Run chip.

Okay even the font in the game logo "moon" looks like the Gummi Ship font! There has to be some crossover in the designs of both games, even the environments and the characters remind me of Kingdom hearts, and from a game all the way back in 1997! That's so cool to me. I’m glad I’ve heard about Moon. I love RPG’s, and it’s so sweet to hear that such an old game is an anti-rpg that’s complex, focuses on positivity, has cute characters and design, a pretty neat plot, you can choose what songs play like in Animal Crossing, it’s so fantastic. I know this has been done more recently, but... I grew up with older games, like Atari, so seeing such an old game exploring a genre that wasn’t overly saturated with games yet is so fascinating and amazing. They already had such a solid grasp that they could turn against it, and I respect that so much.

I think i know why this game did poorly.
The game's ending message is to not play video games.
I can just imagine the player thinking
"Fine if you didn't want me to play you in the first place, I'll just exchange you for a better game! Now what's this Legend of Dragoon?"
Perhaps it would have been better if at Continue? "Yes" was the correct option, and it allowed you to play as the "hero" once again. Only this time, you are back at the end of the game and are able to head to the door and, using your superior strength, open it and bring light back to the world in atonement.

I know this was 3 years ago, recently watched a playthrough of the game,
in the case of the armor the hero gets in the tavern, I believe that wasn't the armor mentioned later in the game. The Hero is more or less seeing the world in the eyes of an RPJ, normal animals are enemies, Normal clothes are items they can get.
In the RPG part in the intro, the Hero dons the armor he got at the in when the Rainbow is activated. In the actual game, after you activate the rainbow, the Hero puts on Woman's underwear..... The "armor" he got from the dresser... was not armor... it was female underwear. The armor he is in from start to finish, is the cursed armor that is making him see the world around him as the RPG.
The logic of why would a powerful armor be in the tavern owner's dresser is silly and the devs knew this, so they show that it wasn't actually armor and make him oddly wear it over his normal armor.

Hiya! (Please scroll to the bottom of the comment for important information, for you specifically)
I've been an extreme Megaman Battle Network fan since 2004. Still own and have beat every game in its series, including the 2 DS games. Battle Network 5 Double Team DS, as well as an ordered copy of the fan translated Megaman Battle Network: Operate Shooting Star. Which is a remake of Battle Network 1 with a new Star Force side story (it's 100% the definitive way to experience the first game). It's just too bad we never got an actual western release.
If you literally have any questions whatsoever about the games or even the TV show. I'd be more than honored to give you detailed little secrets for each game or even some not too well known information about them, for your video. I've always wanted to share this knowledge I have for the series and truly think you'd be interested in quite a lot of it. Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help :)

I love how you can kinda tell who contributed what based on what the devs made after leaving.

This game is very Petscop-y if I recall correctly.

I’m one of those “classic turn-based rpg” fans, but I think I’ll check this out. Seems cool.

The game's art style is like a mesh between Super Mario RPG, and the Tingle games, the clay/pixel art styles.

The Tingle games made by the same people, so it can't be a coincidence

“You probably haven’t heard of the game” unless you probably have seen thorhighheels’ video on weird ps1 games.

There are a lot of fantastic looking PS1 titles! Moon is no exception, but my personal favorite is Legend of Mana, which is the most beautiful game on the system bar none. So happy it's getting a remaster. Vagrant Story is also mindblowingly detailed and has some AMAZING lighting effects and character design.

Another early under appreciated innovative anti rpg is Drakengard released in 2003. It was the first game that really went hard on the
“you are a terrible person for doing this.” vibe that stuff like Spec Ops: The Line and Undertale popularized.
And its conclusion gives off an aura of such dread, terror, and insanity that I’ve never seen replicated, or attempted in a game since.
