    A most incredible musical performance. First time I heard him was in Silk Degrees 1976, I was hooked. As a result, my very young sons were bombarded by his songs, recognized real talent, and still love him as well.

    Boz Scaggs on of the top blues jazz, rock, funk, soul, R&B masters his recent albums have been great they should re-release his whole music catalog. I hope to see him one day I hear his shows are really great, but he has some of the best talented players. I like his guitar playing, it's simple let the instrument play it's part, but don't over do it We sometimes forget to let the instruments to take us away. The build with the piano and add each piece of the band comes in perfectly. Love this music.

  • @tonyharmon8512
    @tonyharmon8512 ปีที่แล้ว +43

    Back in the early and mid '70's, Boz used to have a standing invitation to my house anytime he was home from touring. I knew his younger brother Ricky well and he would let me know when his brother would be in town. I would plan a pool party, get some goods to barbeque and at least one keg of beer (for those hot Dallas nights) and an open bar. They brought the liquor and I filled the bar with mixers. I would have about 20 - 25 people over. He would often grab one of my guitars and I would play my bass and we would just jam a bit. The most notorious night was the night I had both he and Stevie Ray Vaughn over. The three of us started playing by that pool. People were falling asleep listening and waking up later to listen some more. We played until the sun came up and everybody who had lasted the night all went out to breakfast. Historic night in my memory.

    • @sonnytavares2006
      @sonnytavares2006 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Wow, I wish I was a fly on the wall at that pool party! 70's were the BEST daze of my life! It was totally opposite from these uncertain times. I had just came back from the war after two tours and was ready to make up for lost time and boy, did I .

    • @tonyharmon8512
      @tonyharmon8512 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@sonnytavares2006 Kudos to you for your service. I was 4F (birth defects) but many of my buddies did one or two tours. One worked for a 3 letters outfit and wore European clothes and carried Belgin weapons. Another was a crazy Ranger. I became a blues musician. Never quite made it big but I helped a lot of others get there. Played the Jalapeno circuit mostly. Was always happy to have ex-military at our shows. And a good time was had by all.

    Go all the way back to Loan Me a Dime. When I missed out on Woodstock the next I could get to a big Festival was Celebration of Life in Louisiana. Many big names and supergroups. So my buddies and I poked fun of the unknown name Boz Scaggs. We joked that he was the only reason we were going. The festival was a disaster but we didn’t care. When he finally took the stage we jumped up and made fools of ourselves and drew many apprehensive looks. He freaking blew us away. And I have every album since that day. Some better than others. All of them good. Some of them my favorites of all time. So the name Boz Scaggs means a lot to me and my old hippie friends.

    Boz Scaggs had no idea how big he was Down Under until his first tour here in 1978, which included a concert at the Perth Entertainment Centre.
    “I was like ‘Oh my god, I feel like a star’,” he says. “I was given such a reception enormous crowds and such a great reception.” and I was one of the lucky ones to see him in Sydney. Peace out.
