I was a kid and they ruled the airways from 1973-1980 … incredible talent. Check out their younger brother, Andy Gibb, too.
Number 1 all over the world. All royalties received went to UNICEF.
Auto tune did not exist back then. Just genuine talent.
No computers, no auto-tune, just three amazingly talented Brothers singing their hearts out in front of a gorgeous Orchestra.
THIS is Music ❤
What is it that you do not hear in the music no cursing, degrading of people, nothing about sex, no autotunes back in the late 1970s, the Gibb brothers pure music talent. We will never hear another group even come close to them. If you had a chance to see them in person it magical.
Autotune wasn't invented yet when this came out. This was from a magical time when people had to have real talent to make it.
Natural, pure talent! No Auto tune. They wrote their songs. Robin sang with his hands on his hips, Maurice with his hands in his pockets! No effort, just pure talent.
No such thing as Auto tune back then...This is pure talent, and hard work!
That's the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra backing them up. Recorded on the International Day of Children in, I think '78. They donated the royalties to the song to the children's charity UNICEF forever...around $15 million so far. They wrote this song, 'Tragedy', and one for little brother Andy, 'Shadow Dancing' in the same day...all three #1 hits! No one except Sir Paul McCartney has written more hit songs than Sir Barry Gibb. Over 1,000 songs written for themselves, and some of the top voices in 3 different decades, and not a bad one in the lot! Enjoy the rabbit hole of ALL rabbit holes! 'Nights On Broadway', 'Alone', 'How Deep Is Your Love', 'Massachusetts', 'Fanny Be Tender With My Love', 'Tragedy', and 'Run To Me' are absolute must-listens! And you've probably heard 'Stayin' Alive'...most of the world has.
This music is from the studio recording from the LP.
The video was shot after. You're not hearing what they may or may not be singing in the studio seen on this video.
@@Coowallsky - Although this is a multi-track recording, three tracks were silenced so they could actually sing along. The original recording had the instrument section from the band Chicago playing. That was silenced also so the MCO could play it.
@@tubularguynine we ran this side by side in a control room and it is verbatim from the LP. We had to work to offset the additional compression TH-cam adds to most videos but once that was dialed in, spectrum analysis showed identical results. They may have ducked 3 vocals to sing it in the studio and maybe released the results as a different single for the UNICEF benefit but the music in this video is the same from the LP.
@@Coowallsky - So they got the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra to come and pretend to play? Chicago played the original recording.
@@tubularguynine Again, I'm not sure if the Munich Philahrmonic session was ever released as a single. I knew Chicago played on the LP version.
It's all there. Their own voices and won't be anymore like them ever!!!
1978 the Brothers Gibb.... the BeeGees❤
Thiis is not autotune. It was not invented yet. This is how real artists with real talent sang. This is I believe 1978. One of the greatest bands ever.
It's like the three of them share one voice.
Right!!!
It's because they're brothers and they share the same DNA. It makes a difference.
Family members who possess singing talent are able to harmonize with near perfection.
Quincy Jones said, " those brothers singing harmonies have an instrument no one else has".
The Ladies always enjoy it when a man expresses his love and emotions to her. Songs from the '70s & '80s did that best.
You know why us Boomers say, we lived through the best generation of music ever!
Indeed
Yep!
The biggest group for several decades
"They can sing" made me laugh.
Understatement of the year.
NO AUTOTUNE... Just Talent, skill and REAL Musicians! These guys not only wrote their own music, they created Number one hits for Other Artists and Soundtracks for Movies as well!
From Kenny Rogers/Dolly Parton's "Islands in the Stream" to the Theme song from Grease and SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, all the way to Celine Dion's "Immortality" And Barbara Streisand's "Guilty" (and a duet called "What kind of fool"), The Bee Gee's were THE REAL DEAL!
That family simply oozed pure talent. Their range, harmony and song writing skills are second to none. The Brothers Brilliant never disappoint!
Those harmonies are on a different level
*Autotune? That the 70's...that wasn't event invented. It's called vocal talent*
Their 'high" singing is called falsetto. My fav song from them is "Fanny, Be Tender With My Love."
If you want perfection musically, it’s The Bee Gees, a gorgeous R&B Bee Gees song is LOVE SO RIGHT. ❤❤❤
Definitely!!!
That is pure, vocal perfection. These boys grew up just a bit up from me in Scarborough Queensland. Go past their old place on my way to my favourite chippie.
great era of music the best era in time to grow up in.
Late 70's totally 80's was their biggest popularity but they have had hits in 5 different decades!!! And that doesn't begin to get into ALL OF THE number one hits they wrote for other artists. They are GENIUSES when it comes to song writing. No, there was no auto tune. That was the real voices of the 3 brothers!! They were AMAZING. the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack is off the chain fabulous
I'm not sure how was I come across your reaction video but, I did somehow.
And I've got to say, wow! You're so amazingly beautiful. I mean really. I mean crazy pretty. Shouldn't you be on television or something or some kind of beauty pageant?
Anyways, I like your reaction to this video. Well, to the Bee Gees. They're one of my favorite groups ever.
Every reaction video of this song starts the same way. They sing, the mouth drops open on the person watching, then Barry sings and the viewer stops grooving and stares at the screen.
The brothers Gibb were spectacularly talented songwriters and singers. Pure artistry. They loved ad supported each other throughout life and their music always reflected it.
These guys have been singing together since they were todlers, and they just got hooked. I cant imagine where you could do something your entire life from cradle to grave!
no autotune and all singing into 1 mike!!!!
The BeeGees are iconic. One of the great groups in the 1960's onward. Three brothers that harmonize like no others. They had many, many hits over the years and wrote hit songs for themselves and others. Their catalog as singers and songwriters is immense. Staying Alive, How Deep Is Your Love, Night Fever, More Than A Woman, I Started A Joke, I've Got To Get A Message To You, Massachusetts, Nights On Broadway, Alone, Fanny Be Tender With Your Love, Tragedy, You Should Be Dancing, to name a few. A great dive into fantastic music.
Most of their greatest tunes were never played on the radio!
The Bee Gees were the greatest ever! Their music touches your heart and soul!!
No auto tune Maddy just pure voices..
Timeless tunes.
They were masters of the falsetto.
100% pure natural music,. One take. Live,. Nothing artificial..
There was no auto tune these are talented people who can sing.
This is what a real love song sounds like
No auto tune just pure talent
This whole song is just too much heaven. Love it. Love the guys
So true!!
Beautiful
They did have Auto tune in the 70's, but we just called it Talent.
I listened to this back in high school 80's on cassettes and Walkman 😮
Loved your reaction. No such thing as auto-tune back then.
These Bee Gee songs take me back to when Disco was starting to die out and the 80's were coming in with MTV. I've been a fan of theirs since my High School years in the 1960s.
I sure miss those days.
Kathy here - 33 brothers, one mic and no auto tune. Music that will never be duplicated. Glad to see the younger generation discovering the music I grew up on. Nothing better than some Bee Gee's, in the arms of your better half and just slowing dancing to their songs. Nothing better in my book, and I am almost 69 years old. Thanks for your review.
33?? There's 30 more of them with this talent...wow....
That's funny!
OK guys - typo here ! LOL 3 brothers, one mic! Give an old lady a break. I am sure I have seen, heard and danced to more music than you will ever experience! I was in a band for 15 years, lead female singer. I sang Tina Turner, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Nicks, mix in a little country every now and then, and then some of the best soul, R%B music ever made. My band was asked to "open" a new Night Club at the Sheraton Twin Towers at Univeral Studio (Someone recommended us) as they had not yet settled on a house band, said we would probably be there for 2 to 4 weekends. When I "turned in" my microphone after 15 years in the club, it was because I was pregnant at 40! But man, did we have the best music EVER! As some of those meme's say, "We were hippies, smoked, drank, wore bell bottoms, boys grew their hair out and started wearing earrings, but we had the best damn music of any era!"
@@Blondemom2855 Thanks, Kathy .
Great reply but lucky I didn't mention the unnecessary apostrophe in " Nothing better than some Bee Gee's,"...😀
@@Isleofskye LOL
Glad to see you are into The Bee Gees Ms. Maddy.❤
I LIKE YOU and Your so PRETTY Maddy!❤🥰
Talent talent and more talent😊
Love your reaction when you realise these boys can sing, lol
It's always a blast to see a younger person who may have had to endure Beiber and the like get to experience the gems that only happened in the singer-songwriter days. The Bee Gees were one of those gems. I saw UFC on your videos so I know you like the grittier things too, so.... Here's a suggestion that I know you won't regret. Janis Joplin's "Cry Baby". Do the official studio version and not the live version. The official one is her sitting in a chair. I can't wait to see your reaction during the first 5 seconds. After that, you'll be able to breath but your jaw will be dropped fir the entire rest of that song.
No auto tune all 3 are brothers. The guy on the left is Robin, middle Barry then Maurice nic name Mo. Robin and Mo were twins. Robin and Mo have passed away. They also had a another brother Andy. He also was a talented singer. He has also passed away. I love all 4 guys. Andy was a year older than me. Barry and I share the same birthday September 1st.
Amazing
Every singer back then had to have pure talent in order to get near a microphone! No auto tune existed.
This is real. There was no autotube when this was recorded. Singers could sing!!!
When a song sounds like it is just for that one special person in their life, it hits the heart and stays there !@
bee gees emotion
💖💖💖💖
Exactly Maddy ❤ Bee Gees are in a different league all together ❤
A much watch is Lucinda Williams - 'Essence'. 'Cowboys To Men' is another good one.
No auto-tune till the mid-'90s, however, by the early '80s studio producers could (somewhat) effectively mask bad/subpar vocalists by altering their singing through electronic gadgetry.
Disco era
Pure talent no AUTO Tune
Great Band! Great Track! Great Reaction!!!! Thank You so Much ✌ Subbed and Thumbed ✌✌✌ 🇦🇺
Yep. Released 1978.
Incredible moment, incredible voices...magical moments...thanks Maddy!!
Watch how dreamy Barry’s eyes get. Thinking of Linda. Married over 50 years. ❤
Barry gibb still can hit the high notes today
They was at a Benefit for UNICEF BeeGees donated all their proceeds to the cause.
Of course you do 💯1️⃣🎵🎶🦘🌅🇦🇺💯🇦🇺
Holy shit they can sing!
They are brothers. They also have another brother named Andy Gibb. He's a singer worth listening to also
I grew up in the 70s so I experienced them as their songs were released. Now we only have Barry left of the 4 brothers Gibb, (Andy performed solo).
They can sing, they write wrote great songs and their little brother had great songs as well (Andy Gibb, check him out)
I'm so happy to see young people discover and enjoy such great music from the past
One of the classics from the 70's (Disco era). Nobody and I mean nobody could harmonize like the Bee Gees. This is a live performance and no auto tune or mixing involved. And check it out.....They are all singing from one microphone instead of individual ones. I love your reaction.....caught you by surprise didn't it. Keep up the good work Maddy. Alway like your reactions.
Right On😁❤
I’m loving your reaction. And yes, no auto tune!
Born in Britain raised in Australia the 3 Gibbs brothers made so many hits , almost entire soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever was there doing, they had a younger brother that also sang, Andy, this is Barry, and twins Morris and Robin
Yes, Maurice and Robin were twins. Became big in the mid to late 1960s with many hits and onwards after that.
Please watch "Alone" and the Home videos that accompanies the song. It shows them performing at 10,8 and 8 years of age respectively in Australia.
oh yes they are for real started listening to them in high school in the 1960s.
Yep, real talent. Welcome to the 70s.
Yup, there was no such thing as auto-tune back then. I don't think they had pitch correct or anything like that. They did some overdubbing to fill out the sound, but the pitch was there naturally.
Auto tune didn’t exist but heavy post production did and Barry Gibb was skilled at it. Fanny Be Tender, one of my fave songs of all time, was so heavily produced that they didn’t perform it live because they struggled to make it sound like the recorded track. This song is also very heavily produced and highlights those skills. No need to pretend this is a natural sound.
Ya there voices are called talent
They were this good. And they passed too early
Why would you need Auto tune if you have talent. And there was no Auto tune then people made it on raw talent you either have it or you don't.
….. This Trio of the 70’s took all of the Grammys 🏆.
They can sing!😂
old but gollllddd
100%
Bee Gees-alone
I see how they sing soo high...... Did you see how tight the pants were?
Bee Gees - Falsetto is the voice style they are using
1978/1979 era....lots of babies were made while listening to this one
Your choice of headphones , which expresses a serious dedication to music, was the initial reason that I stayed. Loved your insights.
I can assure that it wasn't all joy in the 70's, but these boys were big contributors to what we had.
May we dance?
Real voices....real music!
They are (were) brothers. There were 4 of them, sadly the youngest died at about 24 years old. The only one living now is the middle one, Barry Gibb. They had a career spanning 50 years. You would probably really enjoy watching the video of their "BEE GEES, One Night Only" concert. It was their last live concert together because shortly after that show, Maurice, the one on the right side in this video, died while they were on the road to do another show, and within a year, Robin, the one on the left passed away. They are part of the musical soundtrack of my life, with hundreds of hit songs.
Only family can sound like this. BeeGees (Brothers Gibb). At this point in their career they had already been putting out hits for 15 years. This was 1979.
@5:49 harmony elevates to another level. Is always fresh.
Nothing like family harmony
Loved your reaction & please do more Bee Gees! PS : Came back to edit my comment as realized this is the same reaction you posted a month earlier on your other channel, MaddyReaction. They have SO many good songs so please don't post the same video twice.
Thank you! Will do!
Anjelic beutifull soulful heavenly smooth rabbit hole these guys you wont regret it😊
