Very early. Steve Miller and William Skaggs were 12 and 13 when they first formed their first band.

Boz Scaggs is simply amazing
Boz and his unique voice used to be one of the go to artists for soft rock and make out music when I was a much, much younger person but this is a great version of that classic love song. Another artist along the same vein of unique voice and wonderful love songs is Van Morrison.
I had an 8 track of "Silk Degrees" that was a Top Of The List make out album 😏 Some very fond memories that remain vivid 😊

Finally, someone has reacted to this Boz Scaggs song. This song was in the movie Urban Cowboy starring John Travolta. John Travolta did a very slow, sultry dance with his date in the movie.
YAY!!! I didn't think anyone else knew that!!! Urban Cowboy 🤠 is my all-time ultimate favorite movie!!! Cheesy, I know. I still watch it a few times a year.

The Director of Urban Cowboy called up Boz Scaggs and David Foster and asked for a love song for his movie and he needed it by the morning. The two then wrote this song in about 30 minutes and used their buddies who were in the studio, members of TOTO and The Eagles to cut the song that night, and they put the tapes on a plane for the Director to use that morning. They later added the women background singers, and that's the song that wound up on the soundtrack. The original cut with just the guys is on Boz Scagg's album.
I think the Eagles do the back up on the studio cut.

The whole "Silk Degrees" album is great. Remember when it came out in 1976. It has a bluesy sound to it. Two of his most famous songs from that album are "Lowdown" & "Lido Shuffle". Some other songs are "It's Over", "What Can I Say", "We're All Alone", "Harbor Lights" & "Jump Street".
They should listen to Teddy Swims doing What's Going On, Marvin Gaye cover, he's great

Welcome aboard, youngsters! My older brother turned me onto Boz , when I was in High School, back in the late '70's. Such relaxing vocals.
This song was written by David Foster and Bob Skaggs. Anything David Foster produces is absolutely magical to begin with.
