Kai'sa is one of my favorites. I feel like she's pretty much became the POV character of the Void storyline. All the other ones besides her and Kassadin are either villains or wild animals. Despite her hard life she's still fairly nice and positive, she appreciates having a second chace on runeterra and being able to be around people again. She also wants to sort of rally people in her mission to fight the Void, so I think these are the reasons she has many interactions with allies or about teamwork. Yeah it was always pretty obvious that she was Kassadin's daughter, they just didn't/don't know that the other is alive. It was on Bel'veth's story that it was finallly spelled out. I guess they made a point to say it wasn't confiirmed on the wiki and stuff just in case. There's a bit of a bandwagon against her design from the community, as a lot of people think she should be more monstrous considering her lore. It didn't help that there were concept art where she looked a lot more rugged, and that recently Riot has admitted to prioritizing making attractive human characters over monstrous ones. I understand the idea, cause people have certain expectations of what Void champions should look like, but the one thing I disagree with is that it "doesn't make sense". The only reason she survived the void, being there as a little girl, was because the symbiote quickly joined and protected her, so it makes sense that she's in a good shape. She's also not really "corrupted", that is if you don't consider wearing a void symbiote suit as corruption lol.
Thank you for this write up and the insight into the communities takes on her character design. I can see how both sides are right in a sense. She absolutely has also become one of my favorites.
I just hate how the people calls her a "monster" while she be looking like the most conventionally attractive female no.123173 with skin tight spandex and slightly open v line suit. I think THAT is the most out of sense out of her entire being.
The people fighting the Void are Kassadin, Kai'sa, Jax, Lissandra (kinda) and Zilean. In smaller extent, Taliyah and her tribe knows about Rek'sai and the Xer'sai. Also, the Ascended from Shurima was at war against the Void, until they became corrupted into Darkins, so Aatrox, Rhaast and Varus fought against the Void at some point. Also, a fun theory from Arcane: Shimmer seems but to be made from the flowers Singed fed Rio, the dragony-thing in the cave. Based on the color coding, it seems it could have some connection with the Void, and the corruption it caused to the Hexcore could be linked to the Void.
Any skin that says "honoring performance during world championships" is a skinline that was given to the worlds winner. The 5 players that win get their own skinline and get to choose who the skins are for.
In the call cinematic, she and Taliyah find a faceless statue, which is supposed to be a Xolaani's statue. The Xer'sai are the species of Rek'sai. She appears at the end, being the biggest one. You can react to Kassadin next, he also has an important connection with Ezreal. Or you can react to another Icathian favorite, Jax. The only being able to defeat a Shuriman ascended. Also, the story "Where Icathia once stood" is a really good read.
@@6PathsGohan i mean sure their design is good, but i dont like the lore implications of mere average humans being able to somehow control/survive the void, as it is already stated the the void is all powerful and has potential to end all of existance, seems very weird and strange to me but whatever. they do look very cool for sure tho. Also them being fairly irrelevant (to the greater world at large) side characters ofc means they wont have heaps of lore - this is the case for all such characters - they are merely used to add more flavour to their local region
@@FallenGranny they're not really exploring the Void itself, more like the Rift, since that is a physical manifedtation of the Void in Runeterra rather the outright Void itself, since we know that being in the mortal realm also taints the Void in ways it did not expect. So it's closer to the Lavender Sea than the actual Void.
@@crimsoneclipse0618 yeah im aware of that, im referring to her suit being a void creature that somehow fails to corrupt even the most average girl even though afaik all void creatures are capable of varying degrees of corruption. unless of course this is somehow a 5head move as the main objective of every void creature on runeterra rn is to gather information for the watchers, so mb it thinks it can gather more info by staying attached with an uncorrupted kaisa, still a flimsy and weird argument imo (cos why wouldnt it be able to do the same if it fully corrupts her) but yeah i cant wait for the Void event whenever it comes out. i am a chogath enjoyer and i hope he actually gets a proper place in the universe
Kai'Sa's theme is heavily inspired by Metroid music - have a listen to the Super Metroid main theme (ie the music that plays during the intro briefing in Super Metroid) and tell me that they don't sound similar lol. I'm really hoping Riot Forge will make a Metroidvania style game with Kai'Sa. Pinwheel was the short story released alongside the All That Will Ever Be cinematic, set immediately after that encounter with Bel'Veth (where Bel'Veth offers her a deal to fight the Watchers). There is also another short story called Hollowspun, featuring Kai'Sa and Taliyah, which is set right before the events of The Call cinematic.
Jax has the same Goal of Kai sa killing the void and his Lamb staff is the only flame of icathia and can harm the void. he calls it the last light of Icaathia I highly recommend reading jax Bio Youd be surprise what his True name is.
The W is not THAT hard to hit, especially if you're close, but it's constantly used as a way to poke and/or kill someone from afar, considering the super long range, so in that case you're bound to end up missing it a bunch.
it would be pretty awesome if you could do a reaction to the Katarina comic - would make a great video imo (you dont need to read her lore and bio as all of it is included in the comic and the comic fleshes out her character a lot more and better than the decade old bio)
oh and a full video on katarina would be wasted, as her league voicelines are incredibly basic and havent been updated in a LONG time, and dont have any lore implications (aside from her interactions with Garen but you can get those when you eventually react to Garen) , the LoR katarina has some pretty funny interactions tho (again with Garen so it might be best saved for his video instead)

Core universe is different than arcane universe (i know its very dumb and almost no one prefers core universe to arcane) so the characters will be different and straight up worse in many ways to their arcane counterparts, a waste of time as i truly believe they will just rewrite all the core universe into arcane universe because literally everyone wants it to happen and riot is just being stubborn

Her story is cool, she has a lot of interesting lore, and her kit is fun, but she looks like a dolled up model wearing a skintight suit. And people in her stories apparently react with horror when they see her. Even her concept art shows her with visible black veins, unhealthy pallor or completely black eyes, but of course, the end result is the most vanilla thing they could make.

All the Void characters have a real unique theme music, more like "alien sci fi and electronic" except for Bel'veth, bc she is... different.
