Irelia, The Blade Dancer is her updated lore for the 'modern' League Lore and that champion gamplay trailer from 5 years ago was when she was reworked. Her skins on that page when you're going through them have the dates on them; she was originally released in 2010 so she's one of the older champions in the game. * She's a fairly high skilled character to play, not just in needing to be able to pull of her combos but also how you have to manipulate the minion waves so she can get easy access to low health minions that she can reset her Q dashes off. She also tends to fall off late game, since she's very much a duelist who prefers small skirmishes rather than full on 5v5 teamfights. She can be extremely oppressive if she gets an early lead though. * Xin Zhao and Sona are both Ionians who are living in Demacia. Xin Zhao is also a close confidante of the Demacian royal family. As for Demacia and Ionia allying, its unlikely since Ionia has no form of central government (the closest being Karma, who is more of a Dalai Lama like spiritual leader) and Demacia being fairly isolationist. Plus they are quite far geographically from each other. * The item "Trinity Force" is actually the Xan Family Crest ie Irelia's own weapon, much like the item Blade of the Ruined King is Viego's own weapon. Incidentally, Blade of the Ruined King tends to be one of the core items that she builds, with even a joke being that Irelia is at "full build" when all she has is the BotRK. * Little Rue... 😢

I agree her theme is another 10/10 one. This one is on my playlist for a long time. Also Irelia is strong in the game but hard to master (especialy for old veteran player like me).
On her gameplay, the disarm and the shield break were removed cause she was OP. She got a lot of changes after release (mostly nerfs) but now she's on a stable place, none of them got completely changed though.
There's a comic about Zed, Shen and Jhin, it gives quite a bit of insight into their whole deal. Kayn and Akali show up, as well. It's quite good, too, with the exception of some weird decisions at the very end. And yeah, Alistar is the minotaur champion. There's a whole bunch of them in LoR, too. Most of them fight for Noxus after they got conquered, but some are also Demacian - unlike most other animal people, they're not Vastaya, therefore they aren't intrinsically magical, so Demacians have no problem with them.
Riot has dialed down the number of voicelines/special interactions a bit, I guess because most of them aren't trigged often enough to be so noticeable. This is a bit of a spoiler for Karms but: When they were first creating the new Ionian lore, they made Karma a complete pacifist that literally fought once and swore to not do it again. Her mains hated that though, and they changed it so that she'll fight if necessary even if she doesn't like to. So Irelia's anger was more justified at first, and you can see that on the LOR lines that came later she's less aggressive towards Karma. I like her savage lines but tbh I think the LOR ones fit her a bit more. But on LOL a lot more interactions are hypothetical or for fun (though LOR still has some of that).
So quick thing, swain wasn't killed by her, just crippled. Raum I believe Was stored with a bunch of other treasures in the noxian capital building, which is also where Mordekaiser's reviving pool and Rhaast were/are stored. So the modern Irelia is a rework, and before her rework there was a meme called "better nerf Irelia" where if something else was overpowered, she would get nerfed, despite her being one of the champions that was nerfed the least. But ironically, the Irelia rework was nerfed before she was even released to the public because she was overpowered on the beta server. Another thing is the voice actress was uncredited for a while, but was recently confirmed to be Cherami Leigh, who is a top billed professional voice actress, starring in many popular games and anime, such as being Makoto in Persona 5 and Asuna in Sword Art Online (sorry just going for recognizable franchises) Lastly, I don't wanna spam but as I said on the Naafiri video, I think you'd genuinely enjoy Falconshield's "This is War" series, especially 6 (Shurima) and 8 (Noxus vs Demacia part 2)
In the Sentinels event she got new blades so I think we can say it's canon that she can control other stuff, or at least other blades. The writing for the event wasn't great so some people think that's a plothole, but tbh as the wiki says it was never specified that she can only use her family blades, I think people have that impression because it was like that in the old lore. In my headcanon I think she's like a metal bender, or even blade bender (lol) specifically rather than an overall telekinetic, I think that's a fitting middle ground.
32:00 Riot doesn't hire composers for songs and login themes, they have their own music department - most of the orchestra I believe is stationed in Berlin, while most of the techno/pop ones are done in house but also has multiple people obviously, which also worked on Arcane
Irelia might be a pain to play against, but I will never be able to hate her. Her design and story is perfect, she's beautiful and fierce. I love the ideia that she was a dancer that had to learn to use her talent to fight those repugnants invaders
league of legends actually have 2 spotify accounts. one for the login screens, skin themes etc and one more for the bigger stuff like KDA. you can easily add their albums, they sort them by seasons (years) too!

She is basically the embodiment of "peeked in highschool" mentallity, yeah she did this cool thing and defeated Swain way back when, but its basically ALL that defines her as a character pretty much, she doesnt grow up or progress from there much, and she just is too stuck in that one moment imho. Very one dimensional 3) Keep in mind that everything that she says or interacts with is done from here perspective, so of course being an Ionian, she has very negative views on Noxians. When you decide to make Swain pt2 i will fully schizo post a proper explanation so ill refrain from doing it here. Long story short, 1st invasion of Ionia (under Darkwill, not Swain) was very bad, every sane person agrees with that, however the new second invasion (barely started in the lore, with almost nothing written about it) is being done under Swain - someone who fully understands why Ionia DOESNT need Noxus and vice versa. And while we never get an explanation as to why he is still doing it regardless of being fully aware that it is completely unnecessary and therefore "evil" - it is my firm belief that the second invasion of Ionia is happening so that Swain can stop something far more dangerous and potentially world-threatening, by either getting powerful Ionian artifacts or through some other means. It has been wildly theorized that the whole thing is happening because Swain is aware of Mordekaisers eventual return. so presumably he wants something from Ionia to help him prepare for it.
Its a pitty Riot did not promote these more and that they gave up one the stories ... these were what brought me to the world of Runeterra ,,, and most of the other games .... Like LoR and their Single Player ones

Even tho in game she can sometimes feel like an unstoppable force... well it suits her pretty well 😅 but yeah balancing aside she's for me a 10/10 character, one of League's best design in every way.
I strongly recommend you check out the riot dev diaries, specially the noxus and Ionia ones. Also shambits gaming lore videos on Noxus And the second noxian invasion is currently happening. The awaken cinematic teased future events when it was released, but I'm not sure if Riot has moved forward on that story yet. But yeah, this time Swain leads it and has Sion on the front.

Demacia will never ally with Ionia; Ionia is the land of magic, and that is why Noxus invaded. The same magic is anathema to Demacian culture and besides, the invasion of Ionia was Boram Darkwill and LeBlanc's plan. Swain and Darius are more concerned with internal issues. Edit: Irelia: "Bury them in Noxus! This ground will not have them." Me, thinking about Noxus: "lady, the western Ionian islands _are_ Noxus. They aren't about to give it back."
