Dawnguard rune axe is one of the best axes in game, it has infinite enchantment that becomes stronger the more undead you kill. It caps at 100 additional damage to undead, which is very powerful if we compare it to regular enchantments that deal about 50 damage maximum
When i made my viking build way back when i used the first iron axe you get in helgen in my off hand all throughout the game. Was super cool to name in Gunjar's axe when i enchanted it
Something I've thought since the first time i played Skyrim was that the glass war axe and battle axe should've changed appearances. The one sided blade fits the war axe much more to me, and two sided blade on battle axe
Yeah, a double bladed hand axe doesn't make sense. Anytime you draw it back towards you to start your swing forward, the blade closest to you would likely strike your own shoulder first in the heat of battle.
War axes are really the height of fashion in skyrim to me. They tickle my brain in just the right way to make me love them, especially the falmer war axe, which could literally tickle my brain if used for a transorbital lobotomy.
I’m curious what you thought about the Nord Hero War Axe. It’s just like the Ancient Nord War Axe, but it looks like it would have when it was first made.
Wouldn't be a RogueRanks without a flood of puns. I love it lol I tried to think of a good axe pun for this comment, but brain farting. So axecellent video.
It really low key kinda sucks how Bethesda has mostly overlooked war axes in Skyrim and Oblivion when it comes to uniques. You can tell there's a strong sword bias.
What I like in Morrowind is that powerful weapons usually weights more and, then, often a dwemer is enough. And there is a case to pick an ebony instead of a daedric weapon.
Something about the glass war axe having soul trap, made me feel like a cosmic god. I have a dark elf that's dedicated to that axe. 100 enchanting, smithing, one handed and everything enchanded with one handed.
What I love about elven gear, they look regal, so majestic (or elegant, like you said) and swift with that tomahowk like desing.. Almost like, an Altmer is saying "Yes, we also go to war. No, we are not brutes, unlike lower life forms!"
Iron axe was done dirty. I never noticed the inner edge of the blade is sharpened, as if it is a nord multitool. Nord salesman: it cuts, it slashes, you can use it to strip bark and reap wheat. It's a hammer, a drill, a great wedding present! Get yours today!
Ebony War Axe is my favorite weapon in the game. I love it's design. The swing animation in skyrim feel better for an axe than a sword. Also the ebony war axe deals the same damage as the daedric war axe. does slightly less damage than dragon bone but weighs less and looks better.
To justify liking the handle on the steel war axe. When splitting wood you slide your hands down to that curve and it changes the fulcrum point giving you more force and helps with edge alignment giving a cleaner cut. Mind you I said hands but it absolutely works with one hand if you have good technique. Don't think anyone cares but there ya go.
I know im late with this but his gripes with the ancient nord war axe is literaly fixed with the companions questline the skyforge can reforge them into nord hero versions and they look much better
Raking ideas All armours, gauntlets, boots and helmets. All followers. All shouts All factions All villages All Jarls All Holds And finish it all of with ranking all characters
For the Glass Axe, I think if you just mirror the symmetrical blades to point down and maybe round them off a bit as to not cut you whilst holding it, it could look pretty good. This Phoenix-From-The-Ashes shape is pretty, but also pretty unusable.
please review the madness weapons from saints and seducers 🙏 i know it’s CC content and everyone hates CC but please they’re so well made especially the armor
Anyone else think that the overall shape of the dragon bone axe slightly resembles the shape of a dragon with the blade being the head, the spike on the back the horns and the handle being the neck
The Ancient Nord Pickaxe is a MUST for mining Stalhrim. And looks way better than common pickaxes. Orcish weapons (ANYTHING orcish) are supposed to be strong. The orc war axe looks like a breakage waiting to happen.
When it comes to designing weapons, Bethesda has never allowed reason to overrule their goal to make stuff that looks like it is from 1950s pulp sci-fi.
Pretty axe-urate, but the dragonbone one is better than you give it credit for. The actual handle is ok, the head is very well-shaped, and that shaft is really the only issue.
I wonder if there is a mod that allows you to change your grip on the axe so your hand is behind the blade, it kind of bothers me that you block with it like a sword.
I actually think the forsworn axe looks freaking sick it may look impractical but it's a video game so it doesn't matter it does look like it would hurt to be struck by and it may look shabby but at least it's symmetrical unlike some axes on here
I never liked skyrim 1H axes. Its kinda small for me especially if im playing as Orcs. If only they make something like Warcraft-ish Orc Axes or like the "Gorehowl". now that i sure will love 😂
what makes pickaxes and woodcutter axes pretty crap in the game is that they can't be improved for the most part the notched pickaxe and the poacher's axe are the only ones that can be not sure how many people might know that as I figure most people that even come across them either just put them away as unique items for collecting or just disenchant them for their unique enchantments
10/10 puns in the first 15 seconds of the video
I thought it was 6/6? Lol

That’s a two handed axe ?
@dr3nch_g0d52 it's one handed
Still can’t believe you only have 5k subs. Super high quality vids, always a good day when another rogueranks vid comes out!
Thank you!

Can’t wait for the battleaxe ranking. The ebony battleaxe is (in my opinion) genuinely the best looking weapon in the entire game
Ancient Nord Axe 🔥
When i made my viking build way back when i used the first iron axe you get in helgen in my off hand all throughout the game. Was super cool to name in Gunjar's axe when i enchanted it
i love your videos may you please do armors whenever you can hopefully you grow and be popular
Armors coming soon!
@@RogueRanksWill you include the CC club alternative outfits? Some of them are drippy and are technically vanilla for Anniversary edition atleast

I have never not been disappointed by one of your ranking videos
Im so excited for your swords list!
Working on it!
I have subscribed so that I may continue to enjoy this series as it comes out. Chop chop Skyrim weapon ranking boy!

One of the best Skyrim channels for me personally rn
I appreciate that!
I’m curious what you thought about the Nord Hero War Axe. It’s just like the Ancient Nord War Axe, but it looks like it would have when it was first made.
Just for the algorithm, dragonbone war axe is my no.1.
The writing of this one was a lot stronger ! Keep it up !
Thank you glad you enjoyed it!

You know I can't help myself
It really low key kinda sucks how Bethesda has mostly overlooked war axes in Skyrim and Oblivion when it comes to uniques. You can tell there's a strong sword bias.
True
Battleaxes easily have the most swag out of any weapon type in Skyrim
Yes
Great video my guy
Glad you enjoyed!
4:44 - The dragonbone war axe would be a ton better looking if the handle didn't have the bend in it.
Dawnguard War Axes are also delivered to you every couple of days if you choose Vampire Faction. Very handy.
Just want to say that I appreciate that you pronounce aesthetic as ASSthetic. Missed opportunity to say AXEthetics in this one though 😛
I can always count on you to point out my mispronunciations ❤damn I completely missed "axe-thetics"
@@RogueRanks Always out of love of course. Great vid though man. They might actually convince me to play Skyrim some day
Axe-elent video. I think the puns are growing on me. ;p
I thought I wanted to "axe" you a question, but I don't have any
What I like in Morrowind is that powerful weapons usually weights more and, then, often a dwemer is enough. And there is a case to pick an ebony instead of a daedric weapon.
While I don't love carry weight as a system I get why its useful for balancing
guys if he isnt replying he is doing a wood cutter skyrim run wait for him to finish
Every tree must fall

I have a dark elf that's dedicated to that axe.

There is only one reason why you should collect one set of falmer gear, to mount it on the walls of one of your homes.
Speaking of Oblivion, you should do this series for Oblivion when you're done with Skyrim.
The glass war axe looks like a masquerade mask imagine going to the thalmor party useing it as a mask then just smacking eveyone with it
Yayyy been waiting on this n
Hope it didn't disappoint
pritty nice rank, please make the armours next, i like the old Nordic Steel just my opinion.
Armors inc soon
I almost always seem to get a Orcish War Axe or Orcish Battleaxe super early because the Axe of Whiterun ALMOST ALWAYS ends up being Orcish.
What I love about elven gear, they look regal, so majestic (or elegant, like you said) and swift with that tomahowk like desing..
Almost like, an Altmer is saying "Yes, we also go to war. No, we are not brutes, unlike lower life forms!"

I hope you do more videos like this.

I can't believe Nords are more Orky then Orcs
would love to see you also rank some oblivion. or even eso
I like how the Dragonbone waraxe uses a tooth for the back of the axe. Makes better use of the teeth than the mace
"Some crazed miner build" LOL you know it's out there though
Curious, where would you put the Amber War Axe, Cleaver Of Saint Felms, Dark War Axe, Golden War Axe, Irkngthand War Axe, and Madness War Axe?
Ebony War Axe is my favorite weapon in the game. I love it's design. The swing animation in skyrim feel better for an axe than a sword. Also the ebony war axe deals the same damage as the daedric war axe. does slightly less damage than dragon bone but weighs less and looks better.
Idk, i really like the idea of the Falmer War Axe. I think a metal weapon that looked like that would be really cool. Its more of a kama than an axe
The Stalhrim war axe is bearded, we don’t have the function in the game, but it could be used to hook and drag down a shield.
To justify liking the handle on the steel war axe. When splitting wood you slide your hands down to that curve and it changes the fulcrum point giving you more force and helps with edge alignment giving a cleaner cut. @@RogueRanks Thanks lol. Fairly pointless but I love Skyrim and war axes are my favorite one handed weapon.

The daedric axe and stahlrim ones are my favorites

😳
Anyone else think that the overall shape of the dragon bone axe slightly resembles the shape of a dragon with the blade being the head, the spike on the back the horns and the handle being the neck
Honestly never looked at it that way but you are kind of right...
i kinda wish the dwarven war axe had like a striking head on the backside like you see on some splitting axes.
Say what you will about daedric weapons, you can’t deny they have personality.
They have edge for sure
The Ancient Nord Pickaxe is a MUST for mining Stalhrim. And looks way better than common pickaxes.
Orcish weapons (ANYTHING orcish) are supposed to be strong. The orc war axe looks like a breakage waiting to happen.
Came for TES and stayed for the puns 🤠
You missed the golden war axe, I'm a fan of the design personally, I would place it around the dwarven axe
Now time for swords
Yes
Dark war axe is the best looking weapon in the game
Are swords gonna be the next tier video
Likely yes
When it comes to designing weapons, Bethesda has never allowed reason to overrule their goal to make stuff that looks like it is from 1950s pulp sci-fi.
Pretty axe-urate, but the dragonbone one is better than you give it credit for. The actual handle is ok, the head is very well-shaped, and that shaft is really the only issue.
Question, would the Dawngaurd axe rank top if the handle came down into more of a stake, I mean, it is meant to kill vampires after all
madness war axe from saints and seducers is def my no. 1
I wonder if there is a mod that allows you to change your grip on the axe so your hand is behind the blade, it kind of bothers me that you block with it like a sword.
I came to see which axe came after the Ebony War Axe
6:28 Glass war axe, glass war axe, glass war eggs, glwass war ex is what I said and am very surprised on how such could happen to me
I tried it and just ended saying "ass" a bunch
forsworn weapons are made from human skulls top tier weapons for me
You make a strong argument
If you cut the axe head part off of the orcish waraxe it looks like a big knife
The only acceptable use for the woodcutters axe is a Lizzie Borden playthrough
When are you doing ur own modded playthrough ?
That could be fun
I actually think the forsworn axe looks freaking sick it may look impractical but it's a video game so it doesn't matter it does look like it would hurt to be struck by and it may look shabby but at least it's symmetrical unlike some axes on here
Still not a fan, but glad someone enjoys using it!
I really like the silver war axe. Why dont you include these weapons in your lists?
Never been an ax guy.
Rates pickaxes,
Takes points off the Falmer ax for looking like a pickaxe
Not pickaxe, WAR PICK. Big difference :)
My favorite is the orcish war axe. I usually play an orc though
No runeful axe?
Believable weapons best mod for weapons
Hm had an idea for wood cutter axe* but I think it be in bad taste...
I never liked skyrim 1H axes. Its kinda small for me especially if im playing as Orcs. If only they make something like Warcraft-ish Orc Axes or like the "Gorehowl". now that i sure will love 😂
Why no creation club weapons in this list?
1. Ebony
2. Dawnguard
3. Dragon
4. Daedric
5. Dwemer
Ebony axe is great my favorite axe
11:02 not “STEELs” my heart?
You rated pickaxes in this and you didn’t list Notch’s Pickaxe!??? (Completely agree with your top 2, though).
My favorite looking one Is 100% the steel war axe.
