Dear Mr Fly. As an Norwegian I hope you have some more futage from the area you visited. What about Geiranger, Dalsniba(a sick view point), aurlandsvegen, strynsfjellet, Loen skylift, the lake called Loen and mutch more. Everything is in short distanse. Well, in the video you came from Geiranger😁. I have had several adventurebikes but enjoy a XC1200 Scrambler now, and love it🙂🙂👍

Wow, that valley is unreal, is that on this planet? Man, I cant remember anything like that in the States. That tour b us would make me stop, breathing for a second. The clouds actually add to the mystique of the scene. Well seems they moved in to cover the place. Maybe waiting it out is the trick. Thanks Flyer, enjoyed this one. It gives me goose bumps looking down the valley. I thought Montana had some winding downhills, that scene is wild. Don’t look down is right. What an RV! I would never take my RV down that mountain. Riding down can be scary if you wind it up too much and go hot into a 180 degree tight turn.

I remember hurtling down there in the late 60s in a Cortina, me driving my parents, who of course were shit scared as the road was much worse then with gravel surface and only some stones here and there as barriers. There is a similar road as this in that vintage condition today in the bottom of another valley of Eikesdalen. Nothing compared to the scary roads in Asia or South America, but still a bit hairy.
Thx for sharing, glad the clouds lifted for you.

Looks brilliant, however have you ever been touring around Austria? I was touring there last summer, all of the mountains over there are completely white, with 9ft of snow either side of the road going up the main tourist mountain - the Grossglockner, at an impressive 3,800m above sea-level... It’s a very busy mountain in the tourist season though! However there is a far better (way off the tourist route map) alpine pass called the Nockalmstrasse, which simply blows that Trollstigen and the Glockner totally out of the water!! Amazing ride - the best days riding I’ve EVER done on a motorcycle... I can’t recommend riding that road highly enough, simply incredible!! There are an unbelievable 52 hairpins over it’s 34-kilometres length... I’m hoping to do it again next year 👍🏻

Wonderful to see! Tusen takk. I’ve driven it twice as part of a tour across Norway from Sky to Kristiansund in ‘12. Completely socked in with no more than 30m vis and only glimpses of one of the most beautiful drives in the world... In ‘14 from Kristiansund to Geiranger and then a lazy loop return. Crystal clear blue sky and vis unlimited!! Norway is the worst place to drive because it is so beautiful, and I could hardly keep eyes on the road! Nearly every minute of driving, I was thinking of how it would be on my ‘Strom. 🤙🏼🍻🇨🇦🇳🇴

Rode Trollstigen more than 10 years ago but in the other direction, on a custom bike with a steering problem and keeping in my lane in all parts trying not to look down knowing there was only a 20 cm high cement "wall" keeping me from falling hundreds of meters. Scary, hard job, but fun. I think going both direction might give you twice as much so if i pass there again i will for sure turn back the other way and then turn again going wheever i was headed. A few minutes extra but a good memory for later. The look out points they have built seems nice, being able to walk to the edge without having to climb on the mountain but on a secure platform.
    Nice video. Ride safe TMF.

The road to Milford Sound would rate a close-ish 2nd place compared to this here Trollstigen Pass. But given that for us here in the *real* Middle Earth, Milford Sound is only 3 days ride and a few hundy NZ$ away, it's a lot more affordable than going half way round the world and then spending mega Norwegian krone for motorbike hire. And so for us relatively speaking, Milford Sound highway is 'our' #1. And just to brag a bit more, Hobbiton is literally only 40mi/70km from where we both live.... :-D :-D

    • @rhonda-my_honda_cb500x3

@@silverarrow2558 Just about a complete scenery change every 50mi/80km or so, eh?
As a born & bred Kiwi biker, I've ridden 'nearly everywhere' (incl Stewart Island!) in NZ and I can say that the South Island has the Big Sky/LOTR grandeur, while the North Island has more interesting/'technically challenging' back-country paved goat tracks than one can poke a stick at. Such roads in the North Island are tailor-made to be ridden on machines like DL650 VStroms, Teneres, CB500Xes, FireBlades and the like, rather than anything looking like a 'cruiser'.

Great looking road. Makes for dramatic footage that fog! Spectacular when the sun came out though 👍

That looks so stunning. I haven't ridden for a few years now, but I think I've spent too long putting others first!

Just awesone scenery! I've been to some of Norway's fjords, and I made a note-to-self not to drive on those roads as a tourist.
Because with all that to gawk at, I wouldn't make it past the first turn! :-)

Reminds me of a trip to Chicago many years ago. My buddy took me up the Sears Tower. After about the 8th floor it was pea soup fog. Elevator ride was worth it, but way up on top - thicker fog. sigh.
If you get a chance, Going to the Sun Road in Glacier Park Montana. Western side of Logan Pass is similar (it's where I developed a certain fear of heights). Glacier Park has a Facebook page and they will post videos in the spring of their heavy equipment clearing the snow off the road (the poles give a clue to where the road should be).
Once in a while a tracked digger will take a dive off the edge and tumble to the bottom. Scary stuff!

Reminds me of riding the in Sierra Nevada or Highway 1 in California, stunning scenery, wonderful Twisties, buffered by too much traffic. So you must get your fun in short bursts. RV 's are unavoidable.
I cant see the the smile on your face, but I know it still there! Cheers! 😀😀👍👍
