This is how i do it, what app and programs i use. I know there is alot of good options out there. Dont trust me, find out for yourself... what is your favourite way?

Great video. I enjoy the planning stage if a ride almost as much as the ride itself. And I have to say that it has paid off many times. Finding things like abandoned train tunnels and such that I would have rode past if I had not done my research. But having said that as much as I plan I'm always ready to forget it all and follow my nose. It's all about having fun after all.

Great video Thomas! Always interesting to see planning styles. Back in time i used MapSource and the Basecamp combined with inspiration from other medias as forums, YT and FB. Last years i have not planned much other that direction and some theme for the trip or destination. Then i plan some in the evenings and morning during the trip. Also improvise during the days. I do the same on RV trips. Got lazy i think 😂😂🤠 Thanks for the tip with mobile mounts. I recently got the Quadlock in my post box. It will do this coming season, i never had a mobile outside the pocket when riding before and dont know if i will need it infront of me either. This weekend there is a great motorcycle show in Gothenburg, will be fun to visit! 👌🏻

I find my self in need of a "bigger" plan. Even if i dont follow the rute or do other trails some of the days, there is something about having a plan so you can stick to when you get homesick or have a bad day. It may be a little OCD to plan so much, but hell... as long as we are out there driving :-P haha. Motorcycle show is always nice. take with you the camera :-) Cheers

Thomas Hansen agree, a plan keeps You focused on the mission and often You get most out of a trip with a good plan on top of that we tend to remember the parts that we did not expect during a trip, the surprises, the wow factors, thing you did not count on. Keep up the good work!

The SP Connect phone mounting system that KTM sells work really well. Used it for several months now and I’m very pleased. The phone case doesn’t disrupt my wireless charging at home, but the SP adapter that sticks to your existing case does disrupt wireless charging.

Really enjoying your videos. Can't wait to get out to Norway!
After some advice please. I've started sketching out a 3 week tour, from Rotterdam (ferry from UK), to Denmark, Oresund Bridge and then up the E45, a few little roads in Finland, then Nordkapp. ( I'm staying away from the coast as I can do a Baltic tour in the future). From Nordkapp to Lofoten islands and a few other few other places, (yet to be finalised), then ferry from Bergen to Hirtshalls. Bike is a GS1250.
    Specific questions:-
Time of year, thinking of late April to 2nd week of May. Too early? (I'm not bothered about missing one or two things, but hate crowds / traffic)
Dirt roads, want to do a few but obviously just gravel roads with the bike I have. (will do a mixture of camping and cabins). Any suggestions for dirt roads to visit?
What would you suggest to visit on a 7 day run from Nordkapp to Bergen?
    Thanks!

I use(d) Rever since I got my ADV bike.
One thing I loved about it was that it tracked my rides, and my kilometers.
It's free, and the planning tool is great too. The map looks nice on the display.
Design the route on the desktop, just open it on the mobile and follow. Liked the "follow path" function instead of turn by turn navigation.
But now I'm going to use a Garmin Montana for navigating on- and offroad, Rever just for tracking.

@@tshansen Calimoto got a big update since the date you made your review. It's quite good, but I recommend to double check the suggested trips. Sometimes I endet up in tiniest little roads in the french alpes and made also detours with no sence, only because I set the "curvy" routes for planning. But if you understood that once, its very helfpful for planning trips, or using it for the navigation. For the moment I'm having my learning issues with base camp... Well, i remember starting out with BaseCamp my self, it was a real pain to understand, because it is kinda backwards to what we are used to with our smartphones and new apps today. But the strength in basecamp is the way you can use route and tracks. Combine this, structure and categories it in a huge library no other planer can.
