LOL there's something very fitting about the iphone controller being more expensive but less good. Moga mirrors reality...
Just ordered the Pro controller. Can't wait to get it. I had been holding back on buying a controller for a a while now because I wasn't sure of the product. After seeing this review I had no more doubt in my mind that I should pull the trigger (no pun intended) on buying this controller.

Erica, I bought the Moga Hero Power because of this video, and i have the Moga Ace Power shipping because of this video. I love your videos, and keep doing what you are doing. I doubt you will see this because you get a lot of comments, but if you do just know, you are one of my favorite TH-camr.
Because of this review I bought the moga power pro and it's worth EVERY penny!
I totally agree with you on the Ace! I have one for my 5c and it feels all cheap, even the sound it makes when you extend and retract it sounds like it. I mean, it works okay, but you have to reset it often after continuous play time (about 30 mins straight). The battery doesn't even last that long, for example, a couple days ago I charged my phone while using it, and it only charged my phone 9%. The battery for the controller was fresh off the charger and was on the low indicator. All for $100.

I have the one with the handles, been using it for a total of about 20 hours give or take, and I don't need to charge it. Works great on my Samsung Galaxy tab 4 7.0
Bought the Moga Pro Power due to this review of yours. It's got a few incompatibility issues with Lollipop and the Moga Pivot app was buggy and made the controller lag, but the lag bug is fixed now and the overall quality of this controller is amazing! I must confess, though, that I use it on my PC more than on my phone =P
The only other complaint I have when using it on my phone is that I can't play with it while facing up in my bed. The arm simply falls due to the weight of the phone. I've got a OnePlus One with the flip cover, so it's somewhat heavy when it's got the flip cover on (which is always since the sandstone back gets easily scratched and it doesn't like the controller's arm). I wish it had a sturdy lock mechanism to keep it in place.
Erica Griffin. I cannot decide between the nexus 7 2013 and retina mini. Any advice? Ive had only ios devices (3gs, iphone 5, ipad 2). Is android gd for gaming?I am tech savy so i will switch easily... But i don't see how i'll replace air video (BEST streaming app). There is no android version... But i really want to try android... seems fun...

gonna definitely still buy the hero and pro,cause even "modern" android controllers I've seen don't have a USB to charge your phone while you play

I just got mine today, super happy with it :) one thing to note is it makes turning a little harder on games like Asphalt 8 and Riptide GP 2. Even putting it on max sensitivity doesn't give you the same amount of sensitivity as the tilt controls.

Does the MOGA app automatically find games you already have on your phone that are compatible with the controller? And if you download MOGA compatible games, do you do it through the play store or the MOGA app? Thanks. Keep up the good work! Love your reviews. :)
quick question Erica how do you charge the the hero Moga? I noticed that there is only one slot for the controller. does your phone charge the controller? i just purchased one on amazon and i don't seem to understand how the Hero charges.
can you use the here, pro with iphone, cause if u want a nice bulky case like an otterbox.. that doesn't look like it would fit a ace

This was a very professional review! I just have one question though. My smartphone is running Android 5.0.1 Lollipop, and I've heard the MOGA controllers have compatibility issues with it. Do you know if that still holds true, or if some sort of patch is available to guarantee they work? I just want to make sure I'm getting something that works for my investment.
Great video but with an adaptor would and iPod touch 4th gen fit in the iPhone one?? And would an Apple device work with the android on because it only connects over Bluetooth and not a plug? Great video though

I am currently using the pro with a PSP, N64, PS1, DS, GBA, SNES, NES, and SEGA emulators.I am using a Nexus 5 for my device, and HID Mode has been used for many games, including Modern Combat 5, and Soul Calibur for android. The HID simulates that of your common bluetooth or usb controller. Before, I used my Xbox 360 controller, PC Logitech generic controller via an on the go micro usb to usb 2.0 cord. All around a vast improvement in ease of use since before i used a stand to hold my phone while using those. This also allows me to use my nexus 5s micro usb port with a Slimport micro usb to hdmi cable while using this and even set my phone next to the tv since i can use this to select apps via the home screen or moga app. The moga app on Android is also great as it supplies a list of hundreds of games supported by the controllers MOGA mode. Nice thing about the slimport is i can plug my phones charger in the side of it to charge my phone while hooked up to the tv, which then allows me to wirelessly use the controller on my couch or bed in my room while the phone is by my tv. To keep the screen from shutting down i set it to stay on while charging in the developer options on even stock android. Great sitting on my bed, playing Final Fantasy VII: Crises Core, all smooth and comfortable. 10/10 great android gaming peripheral.
That is another nice thing i forgot to mention is if you have other controllers you can play multiplayer games that are local multiplayer... which i mostly find in emulation.. but there are some that do have local multiplayer.

Will the power pro fit the nexus 6 in its extendable arm?
The Nexes 7 and Hero controller isnt a bad idea. Thats a HUGE phone thing so it will be a GREAT expirience!
I'm thinking of getting the smaller Hero Power controller for my Note 4. Will it fit nice and feel balanced, or should i go with the Pro version? FYI I have small hands.

FYI, the controllers are probably going out of stock locally...game_stop has the lowest prices but not available online...$25 and $35 as of Late Apr 2015. For fighting games, consider the Hero Power, its shorter analog stick makes pulling off moves easier than the taller analog sticks on Pro Power and xbox 360's.
I honestly prefer the Logitech Powershell for the iPhone 5S over the Moga Ace. I would very much like a review or comparison with the Powershell vs Ace.
You can also pair the Moga to your Amazon Fire TV and play the app games on their.
I may have missed it but does the right analog stick for the android version work well? I was wondering if it works fine for gamecube C-button emulation to be exact.
Idk if it was the nyko or moga that had issues with the right analog stick not ever picking up....

Love my Hero Power. Only problem I have with it is that the left analog stick seems to have something stuck under it or has some kind of plastic sticking in it. I've been trying to open it up, but the tri-wing screws keep stripping, even when using a tri-wing screwdriver :(

I like these controllers but after having mine for around a near a year, I have noticed that the d-pad gets smudgy and the c stick is not accurate. The c stick only has up and down and then left and right instead of a whole range.

Great Review. I've been having issues trying to pair my Moga Power Pro with my ePSXe emulator, as I have been wanting to play FF7 and FF9 on it and the universal driver App does not yet recognize the Pro Power.

I was trying to buy the pro power but it was out of stock and amazon for $80 with free shipping. I checked to see if it was back in and it was the people raised the price to $100 and I did not have that much on my ft card. I had to go with the hero power but I got 1 day shipping and it was still eager then the pro power with shipping. I will get it soon.

If you have android you can emulate everything wii or ps2 and prior most emulation apps will let you key map your controller

The design is like the XBOX controllers. Some people play more playstation than XBOX. They're cool but I think it would be even more cool if they had the playstation controller design as well.
Across all of the videos that I have seen there seems to be a slight lag on any Bluetooth controller. Can someone here who has one of these confirm or deny the lag? Folks with the USB OTG can don't seem to have this issue and when they push a button the game reacts instantly.

I have been able to map all available buttons how I see fit =)
You can also map additional buttons. I would check out the app on a trial and take a look at what is under set up for controller settings and button mappings.

This is gonna sound silly but I really wanna thank you for making this video. I'm looking into making a custom controller and really liked the look of the ABXY buttons on the Moga Pro controller but was wondering if it'd be cheaper to just get the Hero controller to grabthose buttons. The one thing that was preventing me from committing to the Hero was that I was wondering if those buttons were smaller since its really hard to tell the difference with pictures. Couldn't find any good info for my question and then I came across this video which not only confirmed my suspicions but also gave more info on those buttons. So thanks again :D
Nexus 5 uses slimport, which can serve as an adaptor for either VGA or HDMI, not MHL...
