I have a friend who lives in Avani, if you use a bike then this is a great choice since they have a storage area for bikes as well as a stand with various tools that you can work on your bike on, both in the underground parking garage. They did have a big water leak in the community room but from what he’s told me it’s mostly back to normal. And beware, despite what it says accessing the skyway from the Riverwalk does require a decent outdoor walk, I’d estimate 5-10 minutes from the building to a skyway access entrance. And it gets likely noisy every Wednesday at 10 and especially the first Wednesday of the month since there’s an outdoor warming siren (aka tornado siren) right next to the building! (It was there long before the building was built). I live in Fontaine Towers which is another apartment building here in downtown but it’s for the handicapped (like me) and the elderly. But several our residents are Mayor employees and there’s direct skyway access to the downtown system, perfect for getting exercise, having a coffee, bite to eat, shop or, of course, accessing the Mayo campus, whether it’s for work or patients.
I’m a little late but I’m thinking of moving to the Berkman apts soon. Is it safe there? I feel like because it’s in the city the crime might be high. Thank you!

Is The Berkman a hotel or an apartment ? Everytime I search for Berkman in Rochester, I see a "4-star hotel" in the description.
It’s an apartment but it has short term stay options like a hotel would.
