    *IMPORTANT!!!!! SOME OF MY RESPONSES TO EMAILS AND COMMENTS ON THIS & SIMILAR VIDS:
    Been feeling slightly alarmed (and worryingly responsible) at the amount of responses from folks stating they may just pick up and move across the world based on a 15 min YT video.... Here's an email response I just sent to a guy who said he's considering quitting his job and moving here (despite never even been here before....)
    ==============
    -Honestly, you may think you could live on $800 month/$1000 month etc here but at that budget life would be very basic (plus wouldn't include insurance, visa costs, emergencies, etc etc etc). Personally keep to approx $1500 budget and find that 'just' covers having a modestly enjoyable lifestyle here (one's milage may vary of course).
    Both health insurance and long term visas can be costly especially depending on age. Under 50 health insurance approx $100 month and over 50 insurance gets increasingly expensive, factor $300 month-up. Visas: Elite visa $17K USD for 5 years, 60K USD for 20 years. Retirement visa you must show either 65k THB/$1900 USD monthly income, or 800kTHB/$23,000 USD in a Thai Bank account. Many under 50's do get other visas such as education visa to learn Thai Language or Muay Thai etc but this is a short term solution and they're cracking down on abusers.
    Thus, BEFORE you say 'take this job and %#$@! it' and jump on a plane to move to Thailand... would recommend at a minimum coming for a visit FIRST. YT'rs like me can make it look all wonderful but of course daily life is much different than a 15 min YT highlight vid. So, please, BEFORE making any commitments (or burning bridges) come have a look first. Then, if you still feel the same and are financially sound, do a longer test (say 6 months) to see if daily life here really meets expectations, suits your lifestyle and your budget.
    Good luck

      Welcome to rip off Britain. Council tax is nothing more than a revenue stream for local councils. What they do with the money I have no clue. In my area of the UK the potholes are damaging my car, the high street looks like a war zone and our local park is inhabited by drugged up drunken youths. I'm packing my bags, selling up and heading for Asia before I end up in a mental hospital for the insane.

    We have a house near Khao Kalok Pranburi. At night in front of Sheraton Hua Hin Pranburi Villa has walking street with tons of street food. The condo you were looking at, originally was suppose to be a part of a huge complex, including shopping and marina for yaht, boats, etc. I don't know what the plan is now but I don't see any construction there.

The cost of the 3 bedroom penthouse is about the same as what you would pay just for a bedroom in a shared house here in Australia. Why the heck would you struggle here in Australia when everything is there for you for what we would consider to be small change.

      @@SideTripLife 600 Swedish owned homes there. 20 years ago they started to build bungalows and condos, with kitchens and bathrooms with Swedish standard. Amazing beautiful place, with a train station house that’s even more picturesque than Hua Hins, in the middle of the village between the ocean and the motorway. Only 10-15km to the border to Myanmar. The condos has 20-30m2 balconies with oceanviews and the loft entrances can be used as a balcony too, for breakfasts with 180 degrees Djungle panorama against the mountains at the Myanmar border.

    I'm currently in Playa del Carmen.
    I've binged watch many of your videos. I don't recall you mentioning biting insects. Mosquitos especially.
    I enjoy your side trips. They're never long enough.

      With sea breeze mossies not too bad on this stretch. Haven't experienced sand fleas here but best avoid high tide-line debris and damp shaded areas at top of beach as they love that. Btw, this area in SE Asia reminded me of Playa del Carmen 20 years ago: th-cam.com/video/-u2C0ZjfKOM/w-d-xo.html

    This condo is amazing. The only drawback on this "riviera" is the sea, which does not have crystal clear waters, this north in the Gulf of Thailand!

    Enjoyed your video. From my research that penthouse condo was a fabulous rental esp. with the one year up front price. I wouldn’t have believed it. If you didn’t show it.
    Got a new sub.
