    It's very easy to make things glow (bloom) in Unity 2020. Just a few steps 🌟🌟🌟

    Correct me if i'm wrong. But this isn't real emissiveness is it? It's Postprocessing bloom. For this example it will work fine, but have a look at your scene at 2:02, your whole scene gets over bloomed and so this technique is very limited if you want a persistent look on your game and gameobjects.

Then when you will create an empty object (Create Empty), in the Inspector > Add Component > and type Post-process Volume (sorry for the late reply - you might have found it yourself already)

      I think it is because of the light direction. Or if you want to make the cube glow itself, you need to used emission in the material

    So the actually important part is 1:43-1:53. The rest isn't really too needed. Even if you want to do longer explanations, I'd recommend slowing down at least during the important part. I haven't done this before, so I had to watch it like 5 times just to see what you were doing in those 10 seconds. Thanks for the help though! I've wanted to be able to do this for a while!

I'm also doing VR, but I mean it literally stops glowing in the game window even once I hit play. Any ideas?

  • @angryITGuy

    Bloom is a camera effect that affects the entire scene, what if i want to just have the effect apply to one object, leaving the rest of the scene unaffected ?

    • @marck0zz
      @marck0zz 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can choose "Local" under "Volume - mode" in the volume component that you have created, in this case you need to put a box colider over the area that you want the effect on, I have try this over some areas in my scene, not over an particular object but you can try.

Edit 2: The greyscale image is inverted but I cant change the background of the cube it’s stuck on white but it would only take white. But to be honest it looks good, if there is a fix let me know.
