      Haha, yeah it seems like the Tisas and Girsan 1911s are suddenly a thing again. We reviewed them a few years ago. Sorta like the Arex Zero1, the Grand Power Stribog, and several others. We review them....a few months or years pass and BAM! "What's this new gun?"

    I have an older version of this gun, Regent R200s (different importer- Umarex). Appears to be the same, except no rail on the frame and all the controls are stainless. The grips on yours are better (R200s) came with Hogue rubber grips which sometimes rubbed the ambi safety. I had very few problems until I hit about 1200 rounds and needed to retention the extractor (Which is mim on the R200s). I’m wondering if that’s still the case on these newer models. The earlier versions are cast but the latest versions are forged. The new versions have a small business card attached to the trigger guard stating that the frame and slide are forged. The earlier versions definitely were cast bcuz you can find porosity on some areas. Porosity exists only in cast parts.

    • @aznazguy
      @aznazguy 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Siding with the 1911 takedown critics on this one. If you use the "correct" method/sequence for disassembly, and then assemble in the reverse sequence, the reassembly issues at the end of the video wouldn't happen.
      It's not simply a matter of preference or people being haters. Someone less stubborn and somewhat willing to learn could infer that the "correct" method is objectively better because it avoids both minor "mishaps" in in the video, launching the guide rod upon disassembly (increased risk or loss and injury) and failure to easily install the recoil assembly (risk of loss, injury, and maybe even damaging the recoil spring from tweaking it).
      If joseph simonis would have written "learn how to put it together correctly guy," then what would the witty response have been? Here's one: "Duly noted, your refund has been issued."
      Both ways can "work," but this way is objectively inferior. The best thing I can say about it is that it require a bushing wrench if it isn't too tight and if your recoil spring plug is finished that it might help preserve the peaks of the serrations from wear. There's also the benefit of stimulating comments which probably isn't a bad thing for TH-cam analytics.
