Great firearms especially for the price. But maybe get a gunsmith to review also not someone who "works at a gun store" but somehow is qualified to spout buzzwords like they're an expert. Would like reviews not some that keeps saying they work at a gun store like its am argument from authority. Just saying

    • @unixfool
      @unixfool ปีที่แล้ว +8

@@wandabustrycki9819 it shouldn't take a gunsmith to sell the guns. The guns should speak for themselves. As well, there's nothing wrong with someone conducting a review of the product. Those that own and use the product are going to have a different perspective than a gunsmith (Tisas gunsmith or otherwise), and frankly, I don't GAF about buzzwords or who spouts them (like there aren't shitty gunsmiths in the world).

Love my b45 carry. When i originally got it (2 years ago), it would run fmj no issue. But hollow points were hit and miss even after break in. Sds stood by their product. Responded to my service request withing 4 hours. Paid for shipping both ways, fixed the issue and put in an upgraded mag release. Gun has run flawlessly ever since.

I have the basic "service" model that I picked up last December. It had some ftc/ftb issues here and there in the first few hundred rounds (break in related, perhaps), but I'm close to 3,000 now and it runs like a champ. Eats any and all ammo I throw in it.

I have one of the 1911 Duty models, I think it is. Anyway, it’s a black full size 1911. I’m very pleased with it. Initially, it would jam on the first two rounds from a full magazine. I replaced the magazine catch with one that holds the mag .040 higher in the well, and that fixed it. Also, the spade hammer bit my hand. Not a problem for everybody, but I replaced the hammer with a Commander style, and no more bite. I don’t think you can beat Tisas for the money.

I was gifted a Zig Tsas from my brother who had it for a few years. He said he’s never had an issue with it but when I got it, it didn’t really like to feed JHP. Nor could I get a chambered JHP round to eject to clear the gun. However, it eats any 230 ball round all day with 0 issues. I’m not concerned about over penetration as that’s rarely ever a serious concern with just about any hand gun caliber. (Not counting revolver rounds in magnum). So if I carry this gun I carry 230 range ammo. Laugh if you want but a .45 ball round is responsible for many holes in cemeteries all over the world in the last century. Stay safe y’all. Carry everyday.

I still think the best meat and potatoes 1911, workhorse for life, with nice features, is the Colt 70 series 5" Competition.
They can be had for around $990 for stainless steel, $950 for blued.
Has the upswept beaver tail safety, and undercut trigger guard, G-10 blue and black grips, Novak adjustable rear/fiber optic front sights, 5" national match competition barrel, and duel recoil spring.
When you shoot the Tisas then pickup and shoot the Colt, the difference IMO, is substantial.
So for about $300 more you get more gun, better feel, and proven reliability.
Get one of each! C'mon... You know you want to!
    😁

When did they start using a polymer msh? I have the earlier zig stamped version and there's no plastic anywhere except the grips. It had zero issues outta the box. I replaced the guide rod with a full length, internals with WC and the grip panels and added the Pearce finger groove insert. Dead accurate and eats any ammo I feed it. Now it has a steady diet of Hornaday custom 230gr XTP +P and it's never hesitated nor missed.

I definitely don't understand why people would want a firing pin block on a 1911. You shouldn't have a round in the chamber with the hammer down. I get why they have the firing pin block in the Beretta 92, for example, because it has a decocking safety and da/sa trigger, so people carry those with the hammer down and a round in the chamber.

It appered that the cartride rim was no going up behind the extractor all the way. I took the weapon apart and radiusd the extractor and polished it up. Also noticed that the slide stop and slide stop notch on the slide hsd been peened and you could see and feel a raised area on the slide by the notch. Barrel also leaded up pretty bad. Looked inside muzzle of barrel and it was pretty rough with chatter marks on top of lands. Little disappointed. Will shoot it a bit more and see what happens. May need to send it bacl to sds.

I noticed that you didn't comment on whether or not you thought that a full-length guide rod was of any value on a 1911?
Stands for stainless steel it was made in 2020 it is the most useless accessory ever put on any 1911 it has no value what so freaking ever.
I am however a bit shy and don't date my opinions quite readily at times. I've actually had somebody in the past that told me that full length guide rods reduce coil bind. The only reason you would suffer coil-bind in a recoil spring on a 1911 is because you didn't fit it to the gun in the first damn place. And it wouldn't matter whether he had a full length guide rod or not you're still going to suffer coil buying if the coil spring is too damn long.

Odd I have a recent carry, it has zero mim parts.
    It’s has a forged frame , slide.
The main spring housing is definitely not plastic .
    You are flat out wrong!
The hand safety is not a cheep part, it’s made from bar stock. The feel of a grip safety is literally a simple bend of the leaf spring, you should know that.
Clearly the other guns you have simply have more tension . Very misleading or ignorant? One or the other.
Polish a rail? Oh my god man , you really have zero idea what you are saying. No do not polish the frame or slide rails! Ever.
Dude get some books on this well over 100 year old gun, then post.
So many things here flat out wrong, and bad advice is being given here. Polishing a rail , will make any 1911 less accurate. Do not listen to
    This guy!

I've owned both and I can tell you my 1911 runs better. Not flawless but better than the Glock. The thing is Glock is a company that makes other guns. 1911s are made by any company that can and wants to. Get a 1911 from a reputable brand and it'll run as good as any other guns from a reputable brand.

I have a B45, B45SS, Tanker and the new D10. So far not a single issue with any of them (though I haven't gotten around to shooting the D10 yet, but have cycled ammo through it a few times mainly to test if 10mm will work in the CMC .45acp 10rd mags) but I also have changed out a TON of items on them all. Every single one has gotten a new trigger, B45 got a new slide (One with no front serrations) as well as a "45 super kit". All of them have gotten a full length guide rod, all have SS barrel bushings, new grips, Tanker has all SS parts (Mag release, thumb safety, slide catch, "1911 pin set", commander hammer)
With that said, I shot them all before upgrading them and they all ran flawlessly. Out of every single one of my 1911/2011's I own, the Tisas Tanker has the absolute best trigger. It's probably around 3lb's and there is absolutely ZERO take up. Its immediately on the wall. Unbelievable trigger. Been trying to tune all my 1911 and 2011 triggers to match it but haven't been able to do it yet though my STI Tactical 4.0 is close, it's just missing the crisp break that the Tanker has.
I couldn't recommend these new Tisas enough. There isn't another 1911 on the market under $1500 that has a fully forged gun. The only 2 parts on the Tisas that are MIM is the firing pin stop (Will be forged when they run out of their current batch) and the plunger tube. Seriously high-quality firearm for the price of chinesium junk. A winning combo. I anticipate the price on these will go up another $200 in the next year or so given how well they are selling.

Question - is there a way to tell the "new" Tisas from the old? Did model numbers change or is it just up to production dates or serial numbers?
Im interested in the B45, because of the upgraded sight cuts and the beavertail safety.

@The Jimmini Show so I been seeing in some 1911 Tisas forums that Tisas stopped MiM post October 2022
So on the forums people are trying to determine what date was their Tisas manufactured in
And the consensus is that the Serial Number usually starts as
    “T1234-22XXXXXX”
And the number after the dash indicates the manufactured date so in the example above it would be 2022
I noticed the gun you featured in this video has a 23 after the dash
However once you took it apart and looked underneath the slide you said it was made in 2020?
Looking to get some clarification on that from anyone that may know
I am looking to purchase one of these but I’d prefer one made post 2022 to avoid the MiM parts
    Thanks y’all!!!

Hi. Noah from Texas. Great video and an awesome review.
Hey I bought 3 Tisas 1911 45 , and I just love them! I paid $325 + shipping + ffl fee. I would say each one cost me about $340 - 350 each. They will even chamber +P rounds with no problem. Also they don't have much of a kick to them. My Beretta 40's have a much harder kick than the Tisas.

    • @Roboticdoughbull3k
      @Roboticdoughbull3k ปีที่แล้ว

Of course they will run +p or 45 Super,( heavy recoil spring, full length guide rod and a fully supported chamber) it's within the design of a 45acp and its capabilities generally speaking in 1911 configuration 45acp.
