They didn't stamped Omega logo hundreds of times because it would give off a cheap incoherent look. They did however stamped cross a hundred times and it works, because it's a symmetrical geometric pattern like any other guilloche.
Today I wear a Ball Trainmaster Moon Phase in white. I do own the Twelve since it came out and love the wearability. The stamped logo doesn´t bother me, almost nobody recognises it as a logo. I like the depth in it.
My "Twelve" is Glacier blue on a rubber strap and I love it , looks great and is incredibly comfortable to wear, the issue of logo being repeated on the dial? Never bothered me and the same colour on the date ring ? I like that !
Hey mate CW just gave you a beautiful new watch. And I'm hearing you go on and on about screws falling out. TRY tightening or use some loctite. The CW pattern in the dial repeating itself.. Com-on be serious it's just a nicely textured pattern. The date wheel being the same colour as the dial..yaa what's the problem? That's a plus in 99.9% of people's books. Gimme a break. I do find lense to be a bit reflective. Maybe some additional AR coating would reduce that. Otherwise an extremely well designed, refined watch for the money on a beautiful bracelet.
Not coincidentally, I'm wearing my Christopher Ward Twelve (white in Steel). My 4th C. Ward. Really like this as a weekend watch when no abuse is anticipated. I wish it had a micro-adjust, but I understand that's likely not feasible with the great butterfly clasp. I would not be surprised if I also have the Ti version in purple by the end of this year.
I came here after seeing your video on Teddy for most worn watch. I really liked how you watched James Bond with your dad and that's how you related to the watch.
I just received the twelve (12) steel 40mm version and love the dial. It is a brillant way to create a guilloche image found on many watches and add some interest to the face. It wears very comfortable, dimensions are wonderful. A micro adjustment would be great which is offered on the titanium version now. I wear my slightly loose. My one con is it is difficult to read the date with the white numbers on the blue. I like the matching background but numbers might have been better in black.
I hear good things. The logo is so generic and derivative of Swiss Army knife, it would drive me crazy. It's a higher end micro that needs a far better logo.
I have this exact model as well as the matching rubber strap. I was lucky enough to visit their showroom in Maidenhead in May and the guys were great. For me the watch wears super comfortable on both bracelet and strap. The matching strap really makes it a fab summer wear when the sun is out.
Love your reviews and greatly enjoy this channel. I also own a “The twelve” 40mm in glacier blue and I find the “comfortability” of the stainless bracelet to be outstanding. I wonder if you need to resize yours if you are picking up some roughness from the clasp? The light play from the brushed links and the polished edges is something to behold, like satin and mirrors. Further, the stamped repeated logo on the dial provides amazing light play and is one of the features that I truly love. My only design complaints are the thinness of the bezel, especially the brushed bezel face (it’s too thin) and the raised sapphire crystal. If the bezel were 1, maybe 2 mm thicker and the crystal flush with the bezel I think the watch would look more substantial and visually balanced.
“They’ve made it so angular that it loses its [comfort].” Lol. It’s pretty normal to transform nouns into adjectives to suit a speaker’s immediate purpose
@@thomasnez4172you’re just wrong. Comfortability has never, and will never be a word in the English dictionary. Go and argue with Oxford if you want to.
I just got one in Nordic blue 40mm. It’s way better than the prx, no awkward overhang. And I have no idea what your talking, about its very comfortable
Casio A100 WE on the wrist today. A cheeky bit of fun that I loved as soon as I saw it. Eighties nostalgia hit in the head with this re-release. Waiting for my new CW C60 pro 300 in bronze to arrive so browsing all things CW at the moment.
Really considering one of these. Love that blue dial. Only issue is I want to try it on first which is not gonna happen so I guess I won’t be getting one anytime soon. Wearing my Seiko sbtr027
I don’t like the thought of having to put out the money just to try it on and if I don’t like it I have to pay to ship it back and potentially a couple of weeks to get my money back. I’m sure I can live with out it. 👍
so almost a year has passed, they I think have updated the bracelet to have micro adjustment too. have you tried it out again? whats your opinion on it now?
I have not tried on the Twelve yet, but the comfortability comment matters to me. That is the same reason why I returned my PRX. I did however see that CW offers these in a rubber strap which is cheaper than the bracelet so I might go that way if it really does dig into you. Great review!
Wearing a Christopher Ward x Scottish Watches c65 39mm. As someone that bought a PRX just before this watch came out I was a bit salty 😂. Lovely to hear your pros and cons
I'm with you on the cons. I could see me with this watch with a different dial and a rubber strap. A cool one though. Today I have in my white dialed Sinn 104 on a vintage bond nato strap.
On the wrist: SPB157, a sleek blue dial watch with alpinist heritage that is my current daily driver. The 6R35 movement has extremely good timekeeping without adjustment, which almost surprised me after some negative reviews (to the extent I wonder if the complainers wound their watch before measuring?)
Interesting! I find mine extremely comfortable. So comfy I barely feel it on wrist. The bracelet is awesome in my opinion. My screws have never come loose either. Get a drop of threadlocker on them or maybe try the rubber strap? I do find the dial a little too fussy though. I don't mind the repeating logos as it makes a nice geometric pattern, I just think its too defined/deep.
I am very tempted to get this watch, i do love the design, the bracelet and the thickness or thinness is great. Today I'm wearing a serica 5303-3 midnight blue.
It’s remarkable how much his style has changed and is remarkably similar to Adrian Barker - last time I watched him he was very different….. the cadence and initiation are identical.
I have one and love it. However, I have a few complaints. 1. it should have been a 38mm, then they wouldn't have had to make the 36mm. The movement should have been an Elabore grade, NOT basic.
Funny I find the watch to be extremely comfortable and not at all digging into my skin. Yeah the dial is a bit meh to be honest. But you can't see that the pattern is their logo unless you use a loup, so I have no idear why this would be such a huge a con? The glue they use on their screws? are you on edibles? have you tried actually thightening the screws? may I sugest a t shaped blade for your 1.2mm screwdriver if you have an issue? Or just go buy a tube of loctite ?
Honestly at that price point I’d find it hard to compete with the Tissot prx which is a third of the price. Anything more expensive I’d go for a czapek
@@nedflanders3769 gladly. happy wearing my czapek antarctique. No need to get so passive aggressive here. We all have different tastes who’s to say who’s more refined than the other ? lol
I appreciate you comments. I agree about the bracelet, but the rest of the watch is amazing. I wish the had incorporated a bit more anti glare coating.
Hmmmm... I am quite sure the pattern on the dial is not a repetative CW logo🤔 But still, TY for the review! Love your channel❤ Wearing my Seiko Presage style 60s (Rose Gold) on a third party leather strap 😃
All those new models and yet 40mm titanium remains a choice of two comical extreme fume dial colours. Would it be too much to expect a basalt grey or Nordic blue dial option?
Something about the dial indices, or how narrow the lug with off the case just doesn’t speak to me. Nothing will ever beat the look of the oyster quartz for me.
The Christopher Ward stamped on the face hundreds of times is definitely more symmetrical and aesthetic than hundreds of the Greek letter omega, or wave patterns, or heaven forbid - crowns.
Great review and thanks. Thankfully it now comes with both the rubber and bracelet straps. I agree with the over branding on it, but do understand they are building a brand also. For my money I think this is the most beautiful dial I have seen in a while. I do wish the 40mm steel came with the new SW300 movement though. I might wait for that. As beautiful as titanium is, I don’t like scratches.
I've heard the CQ it's spotty at CW. It's the only reason I haven't pulled the trigger on one. The twelve looks amazing, but the "cons" sounded on par with the reputation unfortunately.
Had watches from several manufacturers. Have to say that’s not my experience of them. My c60 300 was flawless. In comparison My son bought a Doxa sub1500t and its had to go back within a month because the bracelet clasp failed
Love the case and bracelet --- the dial design looks too industrial (non-organic) to me ... and the indices / hands look a little cheap. It's why I've not pulled the trigger. That said, the new titanium X really takes this design to the next level. Love Christopher Ward in general. Also - not a fan of their current logo. For the next iteration, I'd suggest some more organic art and less industrial design to their dials. The indices need a different shape - the current shape looks cheap.
As you said yourself it’s Defn a subjective review. I personally love the name on the bracelet (like my Longines bracelet) and I also love the coloured date wheel. However if we all loved the same things it would be a boring world.
I prefer the Tissot over the CW. the Finishing isn’t worth double the price. I prefer the Tissot history I can’t get over the fact that the CW has changed their logo so many times it’s ridiculous to me.
