I'm with you on trying to decide. I had a pixel 6 and recently bought a 6 pro. Beforehand I had a Note 9. The s pen and all the Samsung features are amazing, but honestly I didn't use it as often as I thought it would. The S Pen is enough to justify the cost if you use it and I do love the features that google is implementing into their system. The camera made me want to take more pictures and the depiction is amazing! I'm doing this all just from talking to my phone right now. Thank you for your review!
Pixel 6 was disappointing to me, it gave me some unwanted issues that i think any other phone wouldn't give me。 The only thing that i like about the pixel 6 is the decent price, and design
Something I still love about the design of the 6 series even if for the most part they're still just another slab style phone. I love the visor on the back and the colored sides. Just my personal taste though.
I went for the S22 Ultra for 2 reasons. 1. That 10x periscope lens 2. We got the SD version in India this year instead of the Exynos. At least some good came out of the pandemic! Since the Pixel phones are not available on our market (last one was the 4a), there was no confusion in my decision. And I have to say I am absolutely happy with it. I use the 10x lens more often than not as it helps me to get close to subjects when I can't do so physically, without losing quality. And although the s-pen wasn't a consideration in my buying decision, I find myself taking it out more frequently for finer photo editing capability.
Had a Pixel 6 Pro when it first came out and was severely disappointed. Went back to my Note 10+ until the S22 Ultra came out and have loved it ever since. Not upgrading for a long time.
Same here but I had a note 20. I was super hyped for the pixel and now any pixel phone update is about as interesting to me as what colour underwear the local tramp is wearing. The s22u is a cracking phone though and like you, I think I'll be keeping this for some time.
As a Note user since 2011, Samsung's hardware features, not software was why I stuck with the Note series. Those features have all but disappeared. Samsung seems to be bent on being a Pixel. Hardware features that used to differentiate them from Pixels, like the microSD card slot, measuring sensors (heart rate, SpO2 etc), 3.5mm headphone port, and even their MST tech for Samsung pay, have all been removed. My Note20 Ultra could be my last Samsung device. I've been using a Pixel 4XL alongside my Note20 Ultra, and I must say that Google's take on software, and now hardware is tempting enough to make me not dread leaving Samsung. If I don't get a Pixel 8Pro next year, then I'll be seriously considering the Sony Xperia 1 mark 5.
always have been a Samsung fanboy. but for some reasons I got a Pixel 6 Pro. a little disoriented at first, but it's all like muscle memory. I do love the speech to text in French and English as I use both daily in Montreal, Canada. 1 advantage though that I never see mentioned for the S-Pen, is that when it's cold, I was able to keep my gloves on n slide the pen out. I do miss that, as I was not only a Samsung person, but furthermore a Note user. I changed to Google because it always took sooooooo long to get updates. I got my pixel the day they released the big fixup everything (almost) patch, so I did not suffer from the debacle of the P6P on launch day. Will i go back to Samsung ? no clue. for now, for what I do, I like my P6P.
I tried that. But I guess it was the gloves the issue. But at -40°C, I'll stay warm and don't go for fancy gloves that can operate the screen but not quite as warm unfortunately. That and of course I had a protective glass.
Samsung makes great phones, but personally I like the cleaner Stock UI and hate seeing duplicate apps for each Google app on Samsung phones. Nexus/Pixel has been my default choice for years now. Pixel 6 Pro...I like the features offered on Google phones, such as Call screen and Spam detection, image extraction, etc.
You can disable Google apps. If you are more advanced user, using root you can fully uninstall them. Sure, I also would be more happy to have only Samsung apps as it makes no sense to have duplicate purpose apps. What I hate more is that, even Facebook Installer is installed as system app and you can't completely uninstall it.
I do not use DeX, s-pen or 10X zoom (twice in two years on my s20U) so these much vaunted features are just moot for me. That is why I would easily choose the Pixel 6 Pro over the S22U. Add in that we get Exynos in the UK and none of the deals the US gets but get a £350 set of headphones and 10% store credit on the Pixel 6 Pro and the win is really very easy. My fav feature on either of these is the dictation on the Pixel, making that phone worth it just for that. The Pixel is not perfect but for me it is a class above the Ultra and much better value for money.
You complain about the exynos 2200 but it literally destroys the tensor chip lol not saying your wrong either wish we got the Snapdragon but ah well mine goes pretty good 950,000 antutu can't complain
@@davidbezzant9820 I cannot comment on the SD8G1 in the S22U but having been using the OPPO Find X5 Pro I can say it is far better in just average stuff than my Exynos S22U. In fact it is almost like going to a phone two years in the future. I would not recommend anyone getting an E2200, though not all of them suck, and it does appear to be QC as well as software. The Pixel 6 Tensor is an Exynos chip from two years ago (in all but name) so no surprise the Tensor gets beaten up by all rivals in 2023!
@@andyH_England yeah I definitely agree with the quality control issues from the Samsung foundry. I seem to have lucked out and got a good one (made in Korea) and I've seen some trustworthy reviewers with really poorly performing devices, and theirs were made in Thailand and the Philippines. Imagine if Apple pulled that crap lol. Apparently they are doing away with exynos completely in the next few years so hopefully we get a worldwide standard
I was not a big fan of Samsung before but I am now inclining more and more for it for next time getting a new phone. I currently own a Pixel, but the experience is less than stellar.
Pixel all the way now that they have a pro model. I love the extra features that Pixel's have like call screening, call waiting for you, magic eraser, etc on top of the overall experience. Samsung lost me years ago with their pushing of their bloatware and Bixby junk. I realize they aren't as bad at that anymore, but I'll stick with Pixel unless they go back to mid-range only again.
Honestly I love my pixel because I like Google and their phone isn't loaded with bloatware. Mainly all the Google apps I use are there for me. Not a fanboy just a real user of Google.
@@Unknown79833 have you found it buggy? I fancy the pixel but ive had a note 10 plus for 3 year and im a heavy heavy user. Use it for work and personal all day. I read about bug issues on the pixel and battery issues.
@@madmusic007 so far I got only a couple of gripes. 1 I'm not a fan of the finger unlock, if you move it too fast it takes a moment for the scanner to re-read your finger and 2 the second day I had the phone I glitched out the camera somehow and I had to restart the phone other than that it's a huge upgrade from my one+ 7t!!! 😄😁
I loved Samsung phones but the bloat was horrendous...I got the S22U and surprisingly, the bloat has been removed to a huge degree...but nothing beats Google's stock Android experience. I got a great deal on a Pixel 6 Pro and should have it in a few days so I'm looking forward to comparing the experience of both phones.
@Grilled Trout exactly, I wouldn't jump to an iphone even If they finally catch up and add always on and usb c, something that has exists since 2016 lol, I'm too attached to the spen, but the s22u didn't convince me enough, plus the note is still a beast.
I have a Note 20 Ultra. I've traded it in and waiting for the S22 Ultra to come in the mail along with a free galaxy watch 4 through an online promotion. I would totally keep my Note, but I dropped it from more than 20 feet up and while it didn't crack, I suspect some internal damage may have happened. So I'm trading it in now while Samsung is giving me $800 towards a trade in. I REALLY love the Note series. I'm so sad to see it end and so mad samsung took away the SD card slot on the new phones. Anyone wlese who has a Note 20 and it's working fine, keep it!! It's still Samsung's best phone.
I felt the exact same way until I got my S22 Ultra, it is more superior than my old Note 20. Not to mention with my trade in my S22 Ultra in 512gb only cost me $299 not to mention all the free assessories. I'm extremely pleased especially since my phone received the May Update, feels like a whole different phone now
@@AtibaMBenjamin I know samsung trade ins are really good in the US, unfortunately they don't offer something similar in my country, that's why I'll keep my note another year
I am writing this with Note20U, bought a pixel 6 pro without warranty ( as Google dont sell pixel 6 series in India) and also bought s22U 512gb. I feel s22U is a better phone in every aspect, even in network reception. But Pixel is better in taking detailed photos of moving objects.
I got a pixel 6 back in January. Yes, I heard about all the drama with the 6 pro, But I figured the 6 would do me just fine... Turns out I was right. It wasn't even half the drama that the 6 pro had. I had maybe a few problems with the fingerprint sensor... But after a couple weeks and a couple tweaks... My phone works just great...Luv it!
Getting the Pixel 6 Pro after the updates was really nice. I love it! Although the curved screen cost me a screen replacement already, I don't mind it much and the camera + software is incredible.
I bought the P6P at launch and boy was that a headache! Fingerprint sensor was inoperable, the auto brightness was never accurate, and the bluetooth connectivity was very difficult to work with. I ended up attempting to jump ship to the S22U hoping it would be my saving grace. I had plans to sell the Pixel 6 Pro after receiving it. But now I find myself keeping the Pixel after all these months of updates. One thing I couldn't get over was the screen and how smooth it was in comparison to the S22U. The camera on my S22U would fail from time to time, first time I've EVER had that happen on a Samsung device (been using them since S5). Over the months, Google has really tailored the P6P to be a much more enjoyable experience. My S22U has let me down, and now I'm leaning more towards the P6P. I'm giving Samsung the 6 months that Google had to tailor their phone. If it's not ironed out after that, I will decide which phone to sell.
P6P user here. I've absolutely loved Samsung's phones through the years. After coming from HTC devices, I had a Galaxy Note 5, S8, Note 9, S20, and an S21. But after trying the S22 Ultra, I came away feeling underwhelmed and decided to give the Pixel a try. I know this is contrary to what a lot of people have said, but I actually found the S22U to be super buggy compared to the Pixel. But from my experience, the biggest factor has been the battery life. All the SD8Gen1 phones seem to have horrendous battery life, and especially in this regard, Google's Tensor chip has seriously delivered. I have yet to kill this thing in a single day. I know I had one day with extremely heavy use where I was on the phone constantly, and I think I ended that day at 15 percent. The standby time is so good that on light days, I can easily end the day above 60 percent. Yes, there are Samsung exclusives that I miss, like the secure folder, Dex, and edge panels. But trading those things for call screening, great battery life, and an awesome camera was worth it for me.
Are you sure you are talking about the Pixel 6 pro? -- mine was horrible in battery life and full of bugs! The S22 ultra after its recent update is so much better.
@@KennethStiles528 Yes, but it's nowhere near as useful as Samsung's secure folder, which creates a separate partition for apps as well. It's like having an entire phone within your phone.
As a note 9 owner, I can't say which I'd rather have. The pen has limited usage for me outside of circling text in screenshots, and I do prefer the look of android on Samsung
I had a P6 pro a little bit after it came out and there was so many problems with it. Especially dropping signal constantly and the fingerprint sensor. I switched over to Samsung have yet to have any of those issues.
I am pick pixel 6pro .... I bought 1 month ago and great experience. My first Google phone and i am totally happy with my pixel.. Such a great software experience....and camera is good...
I have both phones but the Pixel 6P remains unused as the S22U is just so good is so many areas. I was dissapointed that the Google 6P cameras can only be used in binning mode and no native images to use the full sensor MP count. With the S22U you have the choice on the main sensor of 108MP or 12MP binned. The 6Pro does have some useful Google features and the cameras do produce some nice images, especially the main sensor and the 4X zoom. The ultrawide camera on the 6P is also not too wide so there is less geometric distortion which is another plus.
Yeah I heard 6P just calls short on too much i.e.. the fingerprint, camera, bugs, cell reception, etc. Going to wait for the 7P and hopefully that addresses more of the issues
Purchased the 6 Pro day one, retired my Samsung Note 9 and have loved the Pixel experience. I enjoy Material You, and appreciate the clean Android experience and the prices of phones are getting out of hand... In my corner of the world the S22 Ultra was $1700... For a phone, a phone. Sheesh!
I recently moved from a one plus pro series phone to the S22 Ultra. I originally considered the Pixel 6 Pro but i didn’t care for UI changes, like the mentioned wifi toggle on the pixel and I wanted more storage which wasn’t available on the pixel in my purchase window. Ironically the biggest headache on the Ultra has been the Samsung software. There are several wonky features when coming from the OnePlus OxygenOs but the problems started when i began using the esim and physical sim to make up for my Dual Sim requirements. The Samsung software makes calling or texting from the right account an absolute mess. The camera is really a minor consideration for my usage and having started in the era of PocketPc's and stylus phones I find the S-pen to be little more than a gimmick. It's usability being pretty limited in daily use.
I had both of them and only kept one, the Pixel. The hardware is outstanding on the Ultra but damn Samsung with the unnecessary duplicate apps. Along with all their apps integrating with Microsoft and not Google apps.
Just convinced me to go from Apple to a S22. I mean the brightness and speed alone 😱 And as an Apple user, $1200 for a phone isn’t even outrageous. The fact that I can buy a 4K QLED flatscreen for the same price of an iPhone is pretty nuts.
I waited to buy my Pixel 6 Pro until I knew they had most of the problem's worked out with updates. I am a Google lover... Had my Pro for 2 months and I love it. I gotta say I almost sent it back cause the battery seemed so bad at first. But I made some adjustments and the phone really does adapt to your usage. It's not a problem now! #lovemypixel #pixelphotography
@@jcolt84 I have the 2XL and now using the 6 Pro, since it launched. Only had a minor problem on the 6 until the double update. And now, after the last update, portrait mode seems better than the 2XL. What should I be looking for that would say 6 Pro is not as good?
I have both phones but I prefer the Pixel a lot more than I do. the galaxy and it's due to a couple of features. One is voice to text and the other is The longer I have it the better it seems to get as in it's getting quicker and understanding my voice and what I do on the phone better so I'm easily getting six to eight hours of screen on time
I have a 22 ultra currently. I was considering the pixel and the new design that was refreshing. Only thing that got me for the 22 ultra was the s pen 🖊 👌
I have the pixel 4 xl. My next choice of phone is between the Samsung Galaxy s22 ultra , pixel 6 pro or a iphone. Also the pen is a great feature to have for certain tasks on a phone.
I did have a fold 3 previously. But I was a pet peeve having to have a case just to hold my pen. Which I lost frequently 😆. Also was concerned about the durability as well. Hopefully we get that rollable with a s pen
I bought an s22 ultra last week and the only reason I went with it was because I could get a larger storage memory than I could on the pixel. I enjoy having all my data on my phone
@@shadowthrown my pixel 4 xl is the 64gb model. Personally I think 64gb should be dropped by the way. I think 128 GB is what all phones should start it.
Pixel 6 Pro is the best android phone I’ve ever owned. Didn’t care for the S22U when I had it and was hesitant to get the P6P cause I already had a regular P6. Maybe I just got a good one, but I’ve been problem free and get spectacular battery life. Side note…Sammy customer service promises the world but doesn’t deliver. I’ve had to waste so much time chasing them for working coupon codes and vouchers not working. Call/chat 5 times about the same thing…get 5 different answers.
@Grilled Trout imagine if Google released a phone with rock solid software. Every phone has had some kind of stupid lingering problem. It’s always something that works flawlessly on every other phone. The P6 series has a laundry list that some how I’ve been able to avoid other than the wireless charging bug from time to time.
I got so pissed off at Samsungs customer service when I was contacting them about my S21 Ultra. I ended up packing the phone back into its box and returning it for a refund. Stayed with Google.
Eh, that's the thing, "I have a good one", you shouldn't have to hope to have a "good one". Unfortunately the majority of the users, including myself, have the buggy ones.
@@superiortoall22 - The majority of Samsung users have had nothing but problems with their devices. Even the current gen phones. Pixels only have a small number of users that have experienced bugs. My 6 Pro has been a workhorse, especially when compared to my last phone (Samsung S21 Ultra).
Funny that I'm leaving the Pixel due to bad buggy software and going with Samsung. I upgraded from a Pixel 6 pro to the Samsung S22 ultra. *I got so tired of all the bugs in my Pixel.* I've been a fan of Pixel for many years and always rejected Samsung due to the bloated software and their persistence for pushing Samsung's suite of apps, including Bixby which I refuse to use. I switched 2 weeks ago and I'm sorry happy. I wonder if I'll ever go back to Pixel. I love the S22 ultra so far... I managed to make it into a pixel by installing a few apps including the phone app and changing default assistant. Changed the triggers etc.
How funny; I have a Pixel 5 and literally just bought an S22 Ultra because I absolutely HATE all the glitches and bugs on this device. The Pixel 5 is the worst smartphone I have ever owned due to it becoming so buggy not even two years later. 1) Random freezes. 2) Sound randomly playing from phone speaker instead of connected earbuds. Have to restart phone. 3) Stupid proximity sensor lighting up on screen and not going away. 4) Faulty USB-C port. Sometimes won't charge unless I wiggle the cord. Android Car play will sometimes disconnect if phone is moved while plugged in. 5) Google chrome sometimes won't let me search after I input text in search bar. 6) Randomly disconnects from wifi and then reconnects immediately.
I got the 6 pro for $399 with T-Mobile. Honestly, I think the phone is awesome (After the updates)Great photos, little hiccups, amazing screen. I wish the pixel screen was more bright and the auto brightness was 100% stable. That’s my biggest gripe. I love tech so honestly, I love both phones. It comes down to personal preference.
I picked the Pixel when it was time to trade in my old Note 20 Ultra. I rarely used the S-Pen or Dex, but I do miss them occasionally. I think ads throughout the OS was kind of a deal breaker for me. I know they can be turned off, but when you’re spending top tier money, it’’s really inexcusable. I am digging the Google experience, access to Android 13 Beta and I just really prefer the Pixel’s design over Samsung. That might change when the Fold 4 comes out…
I have an S22 Ultra also, I wanted the Pixel 6 Pro when you could of pre ordered it, But the 256gb Pro sold out in the within 5 minutes and I waited till they became available again... they didn't until the beginning of march of 2022, So I got the S22 Ultra instead, On the way back from seeing Top Gun 2 from the cinema I thought I would take a video a 10x at 4k 60fps to see how good the video stabilisation was, It worked great on and I was quite surprised due to the 10x video zoom, The only thing I am missing with the S22 Ultra compared to the Pixel 6 Pro is all the Google assistant features, That voice typing on the Pixel and call screen is still something that everyone android user wants, It was either that or S-Pen support, The ultimate sacrifice sadly,
I wanted to like the p6pro, but the bugs. I couldn't complete a zoom call without it dropping, the auto brightness didn't work right, battery/speakers aren't as good.
I’m biased, been a Pixel guy since the 2XL. Love the 6Pro. The cost is the game changer for me, not realistic for me to spend $1,100 for a phone that doesn’t offer me that much more.
In your opinion, did the 2XL have better portrait mode capabilities than your 6 pro? That is definitely the case in my experience, but I'm wondering if my particular six pros camera sensor is defective.
@@richardduncan4375 yeah, with all the display troubles people were having with the 2XL at the time, I just so happen to get a perfect unit. I only wish that I would have kept my 2XL and 4XL, because I really miss their portrait mode capabilities for when I'm taking pictures of my children.
@@brannonbarakat457 I prefer the Pixel 6 Pro to the Pixel 6. I really like my pixel 6 pro's camera as for the rest of the phone it's very glitchy it's driving me nuts. I like to use the extreme battery saver but for some reason Google thought that it wouldn't be a good idea to have exclusions for The voice command. I can't ever use voice text without turning off the battery saver. I thought my phone was defective at first but it wasn't it's just that they don't allow exclusions to keep the battery saver from affecting the microphone. My phone runs slow lately I've noticed that I can't edit text on Facebook the cursor flies wherever it wants to. Unless I hear of some major corrections or experience them in this phone, I don't think I'll be sticking to another Google Pixel I will probably go to a galaxy

I cant do Samsung software. Duplicates of app stores, photos, digital assistant, keyboards, browsers. Along with so much other fluff that I never use. Some of it is cool to have but it just ends up bogging down the phone and using way too much power.
Jaime so you not recommend a exynos version? I am om the fence to buy or not to biy this years s22 ultra or to wait my S10+ is still o.k., the big factor is that exynos is only available for me.
Samsung Displays are used on nearly all flagships and they all get the same one as the Ultra, just they add or take features to make their display different. Certainly the Ultra display is no better than all its rivals, that is just fandom if you say that. As for deals, that is US specific and if competition existed in the US then rivals would also give these deals. Samsung has really spent their $2 billion marketing well!
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN ...any difference is minor and def not a deal-breaker. Check out DXO display comparisons and it is clear that all the big flagships have superb displays and that they are basically all excellent. Claiming otherwise does seem a bit of a fan thing?
Absolutely fantastic video as Always Sir. Appreciate you. I'm torn on these devices though I have both want to sell one because I honestly just don't need 2 phones even though I'm a phone fan. Very hard choice which one to keep though
A great video brother. I own the S21 Ultra 5G and I have the S-Pen Pro and the Samsung silicone case with the S-Pen. I love using my S-Pen Pro on my S21 Ultra 5G. I don't mind that irs not in the phone. I really dig how big and comfortable the S-Pen Pro feels in the hand. You are right,Google is trying hard but Samsung gets the win. Stay safe.
Thanks for this comparison. I had an iPhone 13 Pro and changed it to the Samsung S22 Ultra. Felt like a big upgrade. Expecially the screen was in a league of its own. But... Battery-drain was a catastrophe, but sadly it was no surprise. This is my 3. Samsung with Exynos and they have all been really bad on battery. I managed 3-4 hours SOT and lost 4 % battery every hour when the phone was not used. I think I could have solved it by gettting the Snapdragon-version, but that is not so easy. Changed it to the Pixel 6 Pro. No problems with battery (according to AccuBattery I have 10 hours of SOT) and due to the rounded corners it feels more comfortable. But in your video I like the photos from the S22 Ultra a bit better and I still have the Snapdragon in my mind :-) Samsung should be ashamed of the crappy Exynos-chip.
@@johnsecret1318 In my case easily. Battery in the Pixel is much better than the Samsung. I didn't switch from S22 Ultra to Pixel just to upset you :-)
The battery life on my new Pixel 6 Pro running Android 13 beta has been nothing but great. However I will upgrade to the Pixel 7 Pro as second generation Tensor will more than likely offer a fine tuned experience
@@johnsecret1318 depends on the use case, you might play a lot of games, or use it for entertainment purpose, while Thomas just uses it for moderate day to day task. Plus the battery is a brick 5000mah+ battery.
Yes, DXO mark is very technical rather than based on a random person on the internet so is a better guide especially if you take your time to read what they say and understand it. However Samsung is very important to the YT community so DXO will be dismissed if they do not follow the Samsung marketing line.
I have always liked the Google pixel line. They have some of the best cameras. But this time I chose the Galaxy S22 ultra. And I could not be happier. This phone is an animal. Multimedia Beast. And I love the addition of the no latency SPEN
@Andrew Gibson I've tried going back to Samsung from Pixels a few times. The battery on samsung is always crap. LIke horrendously bad. SO bad that i've had to sell the phone and go back to pixel.
Samsung's software is more refined? My S22 ultra keeps hanging and my wife's Pixel 3A is still as usable as it was on the first day. Not sure what you're taking about.. also my wife's Pixel 3A takes better night shots in super low light than my Samsung.
IDK man, seems somethings off. I have both units and the pixel is always more detailed. S22 is brighter. Both have struggled with lighting at night for me, but in selfies, the pixel still shows the blue sky where my s22 blew it all out. I still prefer the Pixel.
That's one thing I'm finding with my Pixel Pro is the weight. Coming from an iphone 8, it's significantly heavier. Being most of the business end is the bottom of the phone, it's hard to use it with just one hand (even with the bring down the top feature). And one thing I noticed was how far apart the icons are on the home screen compared to an iphone or S22. Google should step that up for a large screen like it has. My old iphone would fit more on it's smaller screen than the Pixel. But I think you need to weigh up the price too. In Australia with both phones on sale - Google Pixel $999 whereas Samsung S22 Ultra is $1549. Yep $550 dollars more, over half the price of the Pixel itself. For those sorts of dollars I've got money left over for a charger, screen protector, case and a few boxes of beer!
Currently been using a pixel six pro for around a year and a half, got it in march of 2022, honestly ppl have complained about it alot but ive had basically no issues super fast and amazing phone its very clean would recommend
Terrific, terrific review. Thank you for sharing. I do think it is worth mentioning that Samsung continues to be bloated with their own software you can't remove, and even serves ads daily now. At this price range, I really despise that.
I think I have a defective pixel 6 pro. I much preferred the photos I used to take with my pixel 2XL and 4XL. 9 out of 10 times, those phones would leave me amazed by the portrait photos they produced, but that isn't at all the case with my pixel 6 pro. The portrait photos with the Pixel 6 pro appear overly sharpened and unattractive. The Pixel 6 pros camera is worse than the 2xl and 4xl, or my particular pixel 6 pro is defective in the camera department.
Lol, not laughing at you but yeah you must have a defective camera because NO WAY does ANY Pixel before the 6Pro take better pictures. The ONLY device I feel competes with the 6 pro is the iPhone 13 pro max when it comes to point and shoot and the front facing
My pixel 4a takes nicer photos than my pixel 6. The pixel 6 struggles more with highlights and over sharpens photos . Must admit video is significantly better on the 6
I'm so torn on this... I have a Samsung tablet, Samsung watch, and Samsung monitors, but my laptop is a Macbook. I bought the Pixel 6 Pro, but during the first decent sized fall onto concrete, the screen broke.... This is with my "military drop tested case" and screen protector attached... I've now purchased an S22U and it's sitting in the box because I can't decide if I really want it. I absolutely loved switching from my S7 Active to my Pixel 3XL, but the P6P has just been a nightmare. There is constant bugs, even as of today. Certain apps will prevent the app tray from opening until I swipe down, then swipe up again. I'm just not excited about any of the current generation phones, but do I really want to fork out $200 to repair my screen that works perfectly.
I went with the Google Pixel 6 pro black one I have after they fix the few problems with an overall. It's been a great phone. I can't complain just hopefully they do face unlock soon
An important thing that is missed is that when you pick up a pixel and take a picture the reliability is so much better that it will actually turn out clear... I have both phones and more often than not when I take a quick picture of my dog or a moving subject the pixel is so much clearer where the Samsung is often out of focus or just not quite as sharp... So overall reliability in the photography is better on the Pixel
Seems there is a common theme here of people that did have a p6p when it come out but were left disappointed. Only the free headphones meant I didn't lose out when I sold the p6p. S22u is a great phone.
The S22 Ultra is way better... just way better. And let's be honest, we hardly pay full price for a Samsung phone. With their trade in programs and instant discounts it makes it even better. The phone is better, the ecosystem is better, windows integration, No contest IMO.
If it was me I would pick the Samsung S22 Ultra because of the fact that I prefer longer software support for a phone that costs more than a 1000 bucks. It's really a shame that Google, the company that owns Android doesn't even come close to software support of Samsung, which Samsung itself is a far cry from Apple's software support.
@Benjamin Jagun well, yeah. A year is still pretty huge when it comes to software updates. It won't render a phone useless, but an Android OS update usually brings some improvements and updates in UI and UX which makes the phone feel relatively up to date. I get that Pixel phones and their user experience might differ from Samsung flagships, but if we are comparing flagships to flagships, I've heard so many horror stories of the Pixel phones and their buggy software experiences, which TH-camrs like MKBHD made videos on. So yeah... for a flagship price... I would have to recommend Samsung over Pixels.
Bought s22u after loads of research. I don't regret my decision as its very versatile phone. But I really like the image processing on pixel. I'll wait for 7p now.
What keeps me using the pixel 6 is the recent menu...Samsung doesn't have the ability to cut and paste, smart copy, use lense, or copy the URL from the recent menu......not sure why! And it keeps me using the pixel 6.
if you consider the pre-order in UK for Pixel 6 Pro 256GB (950 Pounds), Bose headphones (worth at least 300 pounds) and 50 Pounds in google store Credit, the phone is actually 600 Pounds V.S 1200 Pounds S22 Ultra. For 600 Pounds you can go crazy on accessories and even get a SmartWatch along with that.
S22 Ultra user here. I got a promotion deal on the phone new for $200 less. Just as the iphone 13 max pro was $200 less . That is why u gotta always look before you buy anywhere else.

Currently I, am using Note 10 plus... Nd I'm going to upgrade pixel 6 pro.
I refused to get hype for any google phone ever again. Google promises too much. But delivers too little.
Seems like they give up and abandon projects rather quickly. Makes me afraid to enter their ecosystem.
Pixel 6 was disappointing to me, it gave me some unwanted issues that i think any other phone wouldn't give me。 The only thing that i like about the pixel 6 is the decent price, and design
Well said, Google phones are whack!
Bro my pixel 6 isn't even rechargable. I asked google if a charger was supposed to come in the box and he say it doesn't come with one.
My 6 pro is phenomenal. The pictures it takes are fantastic. Always a great shot.
Something I still love about the design of the 6 series even if for the most part they're still just another slab style phone. I love the visor on the back and the colored sides. Just my personal taste though.
You are obviously a very undemanding individual , but as long as it makes you happy , enjoy!
I went for the S22 Ultra for 2 reasons.
1. That 10x periscope lens
Went through the same thing. But I have to admit the Pixel had really smooth animations and OS aesthetics.
@@ChrisJones-cn1ew pixel was pretty pretty with major flaws who cares???I'll take the Samsung

You can increase the screen sensitivity in the display settings of the pixel. Maybe that will help with the cold weather!
Updates are really fast now, soo yeah there is that
I tried that. But I guess it was the gloves the issue. But at -40°C, I'll stay warm and don't go for fancy gloves that can operate the screen but not quite as warm unfortunately. That and of course I had a protective glass.
samsung is the go to for software updates nowadays, i hope they continue doing so.
@@ahmedsalman617 and 4 years of software updates is awesome
I agree. Samsung should make their own OS instead of duplicating every Google App. Pixel is better imo

Class above in no way lol

You get the buggiest software on a phone with the pixel and a 2 year old Exynos chip, which they've called Tensor as a marketing gimmick
Great points as always. I can't wait to see an ecosystem comparison between Pixel phone/watch/buds vs Galaxy phone/watch/buds.

The only reason they went mid-rangr only that 1 time cz the tensor chips weren't ready yet

Yes pixel 6 seem to be a better deal than the 6 pro
Had pixel 6 pro since December no issues ever
I picked the P6 i kinda wish i had got the P6P but i like flat display better
Getting the Pixel 6 Pro after the updates was really nice. I love it! Although the curved screen cost me a screen replacement already, I don't mind it much and the camera + software is incredible.
@@MrNobody_1618 basically same price now so pro is the better deal
I thought they were both so good that I bought them both! They are both great!
At that point you will be able to get the Pixel 7 Pro or not far off the S23 Ultra.
I hope Pixel 7 Pro is what we are all after.
This is super useful to me because I'm having the exact same order of issues, wondering if I should jump ship to S22U. Hmm 🤔

And you can't forget about the awesome A.I. Pixel 6 lineup as well.
Are you sure you are talking about the Pixel 6 pro? -- mine was horrible in battery life and full of bugs! The S22 ultra after its recent update is so much better.

I only wish that I would have kept my 2XL and 4XL, because I really miss their portrait mode capabilities for when I'm taking pictures of my children.
I have the S22 Ultra, Pixel 6 and 6 Pro! Don't ask me why. Long story short, I'm a tech nerd to the core.
Me too lol, and with an S21 ultra and smaller Pixel 6 too. Which do you prefer out of the two?
@@brannonbarakat457 I prefer the Pixel 6 Pro to the Pixel 6. I purchased the S21 Ultra a week and a half before the S22 Ultra launched and I returned it because I got a way better deal on the S22 Ultra. I've been using the S22 Ultra as my main driver for a few months now but honestly I am a Pixel fan at heart, so I'm probably going back to the 6 Pro. I am patiently waiting on the Pixel Buds Pro to launch in July as well as the Pixel Watch this fall.
@@brannonbarakat457 neither
I have the 13 Pro Max and Pixel 6. I’m considering adding the 22 Ultra for a few reasons.
Haha im glad im not the only one with phone problems im using now the iphone 13 I had the pixel 6 pro and i wanted so bad the 30x zoom so i got the 22ultra but i dont like the way samsung does the image processing looks like fake to me i like better the 6pro looks more realistic so i think im gonna get it again By the way i had the s22 haha I have an obsession with phones
Why ppl forget about the s22+? It's obvious Samsung intend ultra to be above pro and pit their + variant against the other brand pro...
Man I thought they solved these issues I didn't buy Pixel 6 bcz of this and I'm afraid Pixel 7 will have the same problems, I'll keep my note 10+ till next year then
I must have gotten lucky. I never had any of the issues people talk about having with their Pixel.
@@omaral-azzawi2266 Google didn't know how to fix my voice text problem so they replaced my month old phone at the time with a factory refurbished one but of course the problems persisted.
@@cjaldrich1 you are very fortunate. I wish this phone was like my pixel 2 XL.
Every Samsung I had was glitchy. The last one being the S21 Ultra (Snapdragon version). My Pixel 6 Pro has been great.
I cant do Samsung software. Duplicates of app stores, photos, digital assistant, keyboards, browsers. Along with so much other fluff that I never use. Some of it is cool to have but it just ends up bogging down the phone and using way too much power.
Same. Only advantage Samsung has over Google is DEX
@@anthonywilliams9415 nope has way more and then there s the S Pen!!! Goggle had the camera advantage till S21 Ultra
@@DENVEROUTDOORMAN You enjoy. Too bloated for me
Jaime so you not recommend a exynos version? I am om the fence to buy or not to biy this years s22 ultra or to wait my S10+ is still o.k., the big factor is that exynos is only available for me.
Who wants a stock android experience, not me. Best display wins, and then Samsung has these ridiculous deals. No brainer, S22 Ultra.
Stock Android all the way. Can't stand the bloatfest of Samsung phones
@@anthonywilliams9415 Dumb UI, sure, go ahead.
@@andyH_England nope they are better than the Pixel or Google although portions are used on those phones....Samsung combines them better
Stay safe.
Stupid to pay $60 for an inferior S Pen without Bluetooth
Can't wait for you to compare the new pixel 7 to the 6. I love your voice. Subscribed!
Uhmm who are you deceiving? 🤣🤣 pixel can't come close to iphone and samsung's battery performance.
@@ThomasLandberg i suspect you don't own any 🤣🤣
Poor thing trying to deceive himself and everyone and pretended having experienced both. LMAO
Camera comparison is so subjective. I went on Dxo Mark and they have the pixel beating the Samsung. In fact, they have Samsung pretty far down.
You went where? 🤦🏻♂️
Yes, DXO mark is very technical rather than based on a random person on the internet so is a better guide especially if you take your time to read what they say and understand it. However Samsung is very important to the YT community so DXO will be dismissed if they do not follow the Samsung marketing line.
Watched this on my Pixel 6 PRO. I LOVE THIS PHONE!
i picked the Pixel 6 Pro for every single photo.. but I still love both phones.
This is very true and without biased opinions 💯
pixel 6 pro all day everyday over the s22 ultra. For me Samsungs worst ever note type phone. Animations on the ultra is absolutely awful
I don't care about cameras or chips. I just want a phone with a big screen and a long lasting battery.
Same here, i hope they will someday make a phone that has at least 24 hours of non stop screentime.
Hey Jaime, just an FYI, if you long press on the internet tile, you can cut it from 3 presses to 2.
Currently been using a pixel six pro for around a year and a half, got it in march of 2022, honestly ppl have complained about it alot but ive had basically no issues super fast and amazing phone its very clean would recommend
Another great review from Jaime Rivera! I like Samsung Galaxy but live in a Exynos area (United Kingdom).
The S22 plus might be the sweet spot ! ☺️

Watching pocketnow to hear Jaime Riverra saying his name out loud ✅
3:52 why does it look like the pixel's front cemera is moving...?
Pixel all day everyday . I have both. The ultra is absolutely dreadful as far as animations go. Jittery laggy stutters.
so many pros and cons..so confusing. S22 or Pixel 6 pro? When performance is priority which one should I use? pls advise ^^
Can you do a throw back review on the Samsung note 10 plus. I'm thinking of purchasing it. Thanks
Nope just do a search here on youtube
Thank you for this amazing camera comparison it haven't been many between these phones.. 🥰
What did you end up doing?
hi Jaime thanks for thecomparison. if you couldget a vivo x80 pro, the new phtography king? vs samsung s22 ultra? thanks in advance!!❤
Coming soon 😉
Enjoying my ss22,...but wats up with the black screen shut off??? Mines has done it 2x already 😕
Never see that before
I went with the Google Pixel 6 pro black one I have after they fix the few problems with an overall.
Same here
It would make so much sense if Google integrated Snapseed into their camera app to make their video and real-time processor better
100%
Seems there is a common theme here of people that did have a p6p when it come out but were left disappointed. Only the free headphones meant I didn't lose out when I sold the p6p. S22u is a great phone.
The S22 Ultra is way better... just way better. And let's be honest, we hardly pay full price for a Samsung phone. With their trade in programs and instant discounts it makes it even better. The phone is better, the ecosystem is better, windows integration, No contest IMO.
If it was me I pick the Google Pixel 6 Pro because of the fact that to me I prefer the software
@@03Chris25 well maybe this October they will come out with the Pixel 7 they will give us 5 years of software updates
@@carloslara8117 True, but I don't buy phones based on future promises.
@@carloslara8117 or maybe they wont
🤦🏽 Pixel gives you options for both as well with the navigation @ 6:22
Stock Android alone is enough for me to go with Pixel. Samsung One UI is better than the former TouchWiz, but it still lags behind stock.
Love we have various options/features, price ranges, etc to choose from.
Bro I had the 6pro it's a software dumpster fire I left for the 22 ultra I'm a lot happier now
S22 Ultra user here. I got a promotion deal on the phone new for $200 less. Just as the iphone 13 max pro was $200 less . That is why u gotta always look before you buy anywhere else.
I wonder if Pixel could fix the light flare with a software update eventually or it's only a camera spec that can't be fixed ???
