I just bought the Flambeau 4510 super half satchel bin. It has 3 dividers can fit around 40+ bags. It’s awesome and $12 gonna buy another soon to get more organized
I use 3.8 rage swimmers a lot, and the nice clamshell 🙄 they come in is aggravating. I usually split colors up in one clamshell instead of taking 4 clamshells of different colors I have 2 with 4 different colors of baits.
I use Megabass clear pouches for my clamshell swimbaits. Similar design as the Buzbe bag, but different material and $10-$15 only
The Plano Z-Series are perfect for storing all of your bottom bouncers. Different weight for each pocket and the mesh helps for them to breath and dry out. I have been using this design for many years. Why they are targeting for lure storage for the same reasons you brought up....I just don't get that??? Great job guys for sharing your thoughts!!
I literally just watched your ranking the best and worst ways to store soft plastic from 9 months ago, last night. I like those Buzbe one but a bit pricey,
I'm a bank fisherman, so I need my stuff organized and compact. I usally have a tackle bag or a backpack for my EDC stuff - tools, hooks, weights, fluoro, standard hardbaits, garbage bags, leaders, spares, bits and pieces... I keep my stuff in small plastic/utility boxes. You know... jdm style. Gamakatsu, Meiho... smaller than my hand palms. They are very organized!!! Although in hard cases, there's almost no air left in them. I've choosen my boxes fitting to the amount of tackle I use. I use standard boxes like yours as well as spezialised tackle boxes for special fishing sessions.E.g. special tiny utility boxes for trout fishing and overnight eel fishing. I know, what kind of tackle I'd have to exchange in the worst case and I don't bring any extras. Hardbaits like wobblers got their own themed hard boxes. They go into the edc pack, but they're interchangeable. I don't put more than 2 boxes at once in my edc pack..
For stuff I swap around a lot of times, I have a big shopping shoulder bag. In there I got fresh towels, my food, my spare plastic lures and occasionally the big plastic boxes with big hardbaits. There's a cooling bag too, if I try to catch some fish for the kitchen. If I know, I'm gonna catch a lot of fish, I carry a 20 liter bucket or the big familily cooling box as well. (Perch fishing in late autumn or trout fishing in winter time brings a lot of fish!)
So, I got my EDC on my back, a shopping bag in my left hand, rods und net in my right hand.
For spare plastic lures I found my solution while watching your videos: clear plastic bags, usually 3 liter freezer bags. If I got more than 10-15 spare packs, I split them by theme (e.g. material or purpose). I tried to get some bigger bags with no success so far. ;-)
All the tackle stuff I'd know where they are, even if I'd were blind, lives in closed boxes and bags. Stuff, I change a lot, lives in clear plastic boxes/bags/pouches. So, I don't have to waste my time searching. I'd really like to buy bags like these buzbee ones. But, imho these are crap because of the lids. They are way to low at the side of the bag. I'd loose my stuff all the time, whenever I'd try to open them... I don't know how to describe it in english... Please, google the Z-Man Bait Box Tackle Box. The lid of this box is very high up on the top. Almost every brand offers these bags with clear lids and buttons. Another similar example would be the Megabass Clear Pouch or Megabass Multi Inner Case Tackle Bag or any kind of zip bag organizer withe a clear lid.
I love that flip around and find out shirt, I gotta get me one of them.
I only bring at most 3 soft plastics with me the ones at home come out of the bags and into those slide out plastic tool bins for bolts and nuts.
Sameish.
Great video. Thanks for sharing. Lots of good options.
For any clamshell plastics I just take em out of the bags all together and put em in a tackle box. For any heavy or pre rigged baits I actually have a magnetic strip on my crate that they magnetize to. And I equip and I equip the magnet as needed
I really like the Plano speed worm bags hold a lot of bags of worms and fairly compact !
one thing i recommend is gallon zip lock freezer bags with the heavy duty slider
you can also get 2 gallon ones too
Go to your local arts and and crafts store and pick up a portable art supply organizer. Mine fits even 6.8 keitechs
hey guys i realy like your video man keep the great work and by the way i did buy the luker hunt LTS Avid Tackle Bag for my soft plastic you guys should take a look im waiting for summer to made a video on my recon 120 i ave some pretty nice idea to show to everybody in the kayak fishing community anyway this bag is really awsome got ton of storage its water proof i used alot of different technique for my soft plastic and let me tell you its just the best i can fit more then 60 pack its crasy i really love it :p
Great review guys. You all should try or review the WARPTOR TACKLE ROLL. I got 3 at the East Tennessee fishing expo
I will check it out!
Clear plastic makeup bags on Amazon are a great cheap option there like 15 bags for 30 bucks three sizes flat bottom zipper on top
Good call!
Great idea, I just looked on Amazon searched “clear plastic makeup bags” and got a ton of great options to pick from. Thanks.
Plano lure wrap works great for hard swimbaits but treble hook covers are a must. Easily fit 4 Swavers in one pouch. 20+ swimbaits total in a small package that doesn’t damage the tails
Just bought a bunch and am doing a short on it
I bring about 3 Monster Bass bags with me on my kayak, that hold my soft plastics. Those clam shell bags are looking kind of,,, Burly!! 🤔😜 I might have to switch to those. 😎
Agree that plano with mesh on back sux, but if it was plastic with the front plastic and velcro compartment... those big expensive glides would never dry, so I kinda get why they did it, but need a different solution, I'd be returning that one...
I use the Plano Weekender 3500, 3600 and 3700 top load bags and absolutely love them. They do come with the clear stowaways but I don't use them at least in the tote. The 3700 holds a ton of the clam shell packs. Check them out
We did look at those and I have a few of them, not a bad option!
My ideal setup would be the fish labs backpack filled with Buzbe hard cases the maybe 1 soft. For the most part I like one grab bag with everything in it.
You’re definitely not alone on that one
I really love the buzby bags but a lil too expensive for me
Those Buzbe Quick Cubes look awesome! I may have to pick one up just to keep my camera gear dry on my kayak!
Great option for camera gear
@@paulglass7268 It definitely seems like it would be! I kind of want the deep version, but I don’t think it would fit under my kayak set. But the standard depth should fit with no issues!
The googan bags I bought all broke on the zip seam. Not a huge fan of plastic bags, myself. I usually use sterlite totes or evolution hard bait boxes. Definitely interested in finding a solution for soft plastics when traveling light.
The Buzbe quick qubes aren’t cheap but they’re heavy duty
More expensive, but can get them on sale from time to time - I have started using Z-Man Bait Lockers Tackle Bag. LOVE it! Can get 80 packs in each bag.
Those do look pretty nice
I picked up the whole 3700 starter colony for both the kayaks, and was just about to pick up the soft bags for the under seat drawer I built.
No way!!
@@paulglass7268 Absolutely! The quality is superb. I’d rather support the smaller business than the big one as well.
I use the Tacklewarehouse version of the bass mafia bags
I bank fish so I'm limited by what I feel like lugging around. I take mine out of the package and put them in a waterproof tackle box, have a little variety. Terminal box, hard bait box, and away I go. Something about all those individual packages bother me.
I have one of the Plano roll up bags and I'm not much of a fan either. It was a gift from a friend so what do you do? But I use mine to store 10" worms in it. I can get quite a few bags/colors in it.
I use just a 3700 deep open box but then there's the problem with the tails but I've actually never noticed anything wrong with mine.
Saltwater tackle shops are the place to look for lure wraps for big swimbaits
Interesting
One of the biggest things for tackle storage for me is how long it will last versus the cost. If you have to go out and buy those cheap bags 10 times throughout the year versus one Buzbe bag then you will still have the Buzbe next year.
No argument from me
I dig the Buzbe products...just can't justify the cost at the moment. But dang! They are nice.
You guys should do a video on underrated baits you guys fish. Maybe one video for hardbaits and one for softbaits. One that I think gets no love is a 5 inch grub. Zman finesse worm and laminate swimmers are up there for me too.
👍🏼👍🏼
@@paulglass7268 look! It’s a Ned rig Nerd in its natural habitat
Bahaha
Thanks for the video! But how can you have a plastics storage discussion without talking about Speedbags. Plano & 6th Sense make some. What are everyone’s opinions about those?
We’ve reviewed them several times if you look at our previous vids. Not a fan. Most plastics don’t fit, and theyre bulky and oddly sized.
Thanks
OK, got to ask, where did the FAFO t-shirt come from?
We made it
Love it!
I’ve scoured the internet for soft plastic kayak storage. I think the problem remains the clamshells. They are just too awkward to find an efficient solution besides take less. I think canvas zipper bags would work (Home Depot) except even small ones are $30 plus. 😢
I use a Plano Guide series field box. I use the 3600 deep size because my modular system is built around 3600 size containers. They make a 3700 too.
They also make a regular non waterproof - the worm stowaway 3700. If I were yak fishing and my modular system were built around a 3700 tray size, I'd probably get one of those to try out, the waterproof ones are heavy and space gets ate up by the thickness of materials / latches. I have some bags that have liquidy stuff in them, so I wanted waterproof - until I phase those out, those bags leak every time unless they're kept flat (not folded or rolled up) and upright.
The clamshells - man those things suck. I don't buy anything in clamshells anymore. They're too hard to store, and they don't do anything I can't do with my go-to unrigged soft plastics in bags. My Z-Man plastics come in trays, but they're inside the standard size soft plastic bag. Basically packaged like the MinnowZ or Kicker CrabZ
So yeah to your point, my solution to the clamshell problem was to "take less" - basically none. If I want to fish one of my remaining clamshells, I'll stick it in a 3600 box slot that's going in the bag that day.
I do a lot of very different fishing so I just swap trays out of my bag depending on what the plan is.
Speaking of cheap you two boys have an Ollie's Bargain Bin store? Ours is packed with XCalibur, Cotton Cordell, Zoom, Lucky Strike, Castaic, Live Target, ChaseBaits, Arcadi/Best, other brand names.
We do! We can check it out!
Ziplock makes the exact same bag as those Harmony bags. You get like 50 for 5 buck and has the better locking zipper. Also the KVD bags work great as well. No way I would spend 40 bucks for one bag lol.
🙌🏼
Yep. Gallon size ziplock bag. Stuff it under my seat and good to go.
WHERE can i get the " flip around and find out" tshirt!!!?
Ya can’t…. Yet. We made it. Still trying to figure out apparel
How durable is the plastic on the top of the Buzbe bag when it gets cold?
Haven’t tried it in sub zero for long but in 15-30 degree weather it’s so thick it holds up great
I currently use old soft sided cordless tool bags just a suggestion .....
Great hat Paul...only maybe remove the barcode sticker perhaps..
Great video again fellas
Never 🫠
What a nerd 😂
Lol..
Broooo coolest shirt ever where can I get the flip around and find out shirt???!?!?!
We made it, maybe we’ll do a re-release
We made it, maybe we’ll do a re-release
This is what you do. You get the harmony bags or just get zip lock and take the baits out of the clam shells. Then put them in any of the bigger zipped bags. The only baits you have to be careful with are paddle tails. Don't leave them in the sun in a over stuffed bag.
The only issue I have had is I left one over stuffed in the sun for week and some of them got deformed. I forgot about it laying in my boat.
2 gallon zip locks
Hefty makes a strong durable one. I know they make bigger too.
I would think the mesh would be great so its not holding water and rusting hooks
It is… but isn’t. It grabs all the hooks. It’s pushing in the right direction maybe.
@Aggressively Average Anglers i think their heart was in the right place with it to dry out baits but would have to buy more things to use it an get the hook covers
Just take the little swim baits out of the original packaging and put in a zip lock sandwich bag. Probably solved. Then you can put all of your plastic worms, swimbaits in one $40 nice.
fishing companies and website are TERRIBLE!!!!! with photo and descriptions
Zman bait blockz tackle bag
Ooooo plastic storage
Have you guys ever watched lure cleanup videos? Guys literally pull 100s or dollars of lures out of waterways
Unreal…..
@@paulglass7268 i just stumbled across this guy. Crazy eye opening for me. youtube.com/@EdtheDiver
I don’t understand all the hate for Plano. I’ve watched a good bit of your videos like this and every single time y’all rag on Plano. What’s the deal?
We give plenty of love to the Edge series boxes, especially the terminal but they make a ton of different products and not all of them are home runs 🤷🏼♂️
I’m also dropping a clip of me using treble hook caps with the Z Series so I am gonna run it this year
We literally have multiple videos talking them up. We feel what we feel. They aren’t all bangers man
30 bucks for a bag. Plano may want to consider an "affordable" series.
@@paulmajor5585 I get this one. I wouldn’t pay 30 for a plastic bag. But the z series and guide series and even weakend series bags are really dang good tackle bags
Buzbe 👍
Saw this video, and found it to be a little discouraging. These guys promote buzbe case and only to learn and find out you can't even buy them, all of them out of stock... totally disappointing
Well, we can’t control stock
Buzz bee to heavy
To funny !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love that Z series lure wrap. I store it under my kayak seat and it has all my soft plastics in it. Works great for that
