This is my first and absolute favorite gameboy game. The startmusic brings me back to these days. I still play it at least once a year on my GB Classic, but I do it without cheating....
The cutscenes where Spider-Man speaks to his enemies with... Walkie-talkies and award winning dialogue! XD 0:14 Mysterio 2:23 Hobgoblin 5:34 Scorpion 8:22 Rhino 10:22 Dr. Octopus 13:56 Venom
I remember this game. Got to Central Park as a kid, but I don't think I got further than that. Now if I look back at this game, the boss fights seem easy as shit. Just stand at the right position, dodge, hit, dodge and continue. Still, nice playthrough.
I had this game when I was young. I never got past the second wall climbing stage. I assume because I was terrified of the gunmen poking out the window and hitting me so easily. So I was about 80% through the game, it seems. Also, kinda love how everyone has Spiderman on speed dial so they can call him up and say he's a nerd for being Spiderman.
After the second wall climbing it was a second hard rooftop stage with octopus in the end . And when I was a child . I was rushing through octopus arms hoping killing him before he kille me but his moves got my healthbar too fast . I discover later an other technic who consist to go behind him and strike his back but it was very long to kill him like that
One of the few games I wasn't able to finish on the classic gameboy... Never made it through the sewers and now I found out it was the last level. Damn... :)
holy shit. i completely forgot this game. although i played it so often as a kid. must be 25+ years ago. but now when i hear the music and see the levels... haha.. i remember the levels.. :-) thanks for the video.
I never knew rare made this as a kid i didnt know who made it i just played it on my Gameboy Advance my uncles gave me all there og gameboy games bc the gba played every gb game before i loved it so much ive always loved retro games
As a kid, I rarely made it beyond this level 8:09. I think I didn''t realized that every enemy has a pattern. Always thought I suck at it, but critics say this game isn't very well done, so... Well, back then I never complained and tried over and over.
Spider-Man is arguably one of the best known and most recognisable superheroes in the world. He has starred in countless comic books, films and cartoons and has appeared in more games than you might think. There was even a whole trilogy on the Game Boy alone. The first of these, The Amazing Spider-Man was released in 1990 which was still early in the handheld’s lifespan. This game look like NES. The Amazing Spider-Man cartridge uses gameplay mechanics that caused comparisons similar to Konami's Castlevania series or Sega's Shinobi. Game Boy action are typically old NES reruns. it was the only Spider-Man game for the Game Boy developed by Rare. The people who made Donkey Kong Country, Killer Instinct and Goldeneye made a Spider-Man game for the original Game Boy. The music with David Wise on the music team The game featured an 8-bit renidition of the 1967 cartoom theme song.
Man, in this game's universe EVERYONE is against Spidey! Who's that at my window? Spiderman!? Babe, get my baseball bat or gun (set in New York hahaha!) so I can teach him a lesson about being a vigilante!
Hah, I was thinking of that exact spot to repeatedly kick goblin; just sit there and kick... good times from 30 years ago. Come to think of it, I avoided Spidey's punch like the plague and spammed the crouching kicking, instead, because of it's speed. But however you played, this game boiled down to preparation for the Doc Ock level. If you didn't have enough webs, you literally had to suicide your way through the parts with no platforms -- and that was barring the endlessly cheap parts meant to make you fall anyway. Great game, though; wonderful Gameboy music.
Just a few thoughts: - Why is Spider Man able to kick only while ducking? - Why are enemies carrying web recharges with them? - Why has he to wait for an enemy with a special web-shape converter to change his weapon? - Why an enemy with a gun keeps on shooting only while standing, despite having Spider Man ducking right in front of him? - Level 2, definitely a very tall building... - Level 2 (again): once on the rooftops, what the hell is he grabbing at with his webs? - Why do pigeons and bats hate him? And why there are so many bats in the underground? - Level 5: same building or maybe twin towers? - Level 2 and 5: why does Spider Man die if he falls down once on the top? Isn't he able to use once more a web on those buildings (even if off screen)? - Last level = very large sewers! You can't hang on your webs in the underground, but here? - Last but not least: why am I asking myself so many questions?
Made it to the sewer once. Was pissed because GamePro magazine showed screenshots and the player had 20+ lives. Something i would have loved to have known how but, you know, no internet.
Same. Especially the second one. As a kid I used up most of my lives there. I made it to the sewers but couldn't beat it, until I used the Game Genie 😂
Nostalgic.. played this game as a child
Me too :)
Same here!!!
Same. did not come far thou
Never made it past the train stage. This playthrough looked way easier than I remember this. 😄

This game and Tetris were literally the first two video games I’ve ever played in my life.
This is my first and absolute favorite gameboy game. The startmusic brings me back to these days.
I still play it at least once a year on my GB Classic, but I do it without cheating....
DaMaCi54 same here my first and favourite , I sold all my games but kept this one , too bad my gameboy has a couple of broke lines now
This game and the x men game were the best and finding the gameplay to both is so healing my inner child is screaming with joy
The Climbing 'to the Rooftops' Music has the *SICKEST* breakdown halfway through!!! 11:19 is damn good for a Game Boy track!
The cutscenes where Spider-Man speaks to his enemies with... Walkie-talkies and award winning dialogue! XD
0:14 Mysterio
2:23 Hobgoblin
5:34 Scorpion
8:22 Rhino
10:22 Dr. Octopus
13:56 Venom
Well ... I loved the music!
Venom looks like he's on a diet 😂😂
I remember this game. Got to Central Park as a kid, but I don't think I got further than that. Now if I look back at this game, the boss fights seem easy as shit. Just stand at the right position, dodge, hit, dodge and continue. Still, nice playthrough.
The bosses weren't the issue. The controls and the stages were.

Psy0m it is from David Wise.
I had this game when I was young. I never got past the second wall climbing stage. I assume because I was terrified of the gunmen poking out the window and hitting me so easily. So I was about 80% through the game, it seems.

those damn birds killed me every time on the second rooftop stage
The boss tune is very good
010les no wonder, David Wise is the composer
I like it
Totally thought the opposite. Sounds more like a main menu tune to me. Doesn't deliver the setting of danger or something like that :/
So much memory comes out
One of the few games I wasn't able to finish on the classic gameboy... Never made it through the sewers and now I found out it was the last level. Damn... :)
Back then it was soo hard but looks so easy now
I have a feeling that I would STILL suck at this game. Damn I miss playing this. Legendary times. :)
And it´s still hard.
It still is
This game has a lot of trial and error. You had to memorize everything perfectly to do good.
OMG. It's my first game on Gameboy. Loved it to death.
Can't wait til this comes out
“Here’s the Game, That’s the Boy. This is the Game Boy.”
-James Rolfe
Spidey beats so hard the bosses are just exploding :o
Omg i‘ve completly forgotten about this game. I‘ve played it the last time 25 years ago. So many memories!

7:56 LMAO the way scorpion is attacking spiderman XD
Awesome. I used to play on my GBA when I was a kid. I only made it to Dr. Octopus
This makes Kirby's Dream Land look like Ghosts 'n Goblins.
As a kid, I rarely made it beyond this level 8:09. I think I didn''t realized that every enemy has a pattern.
Always thought I suck at it, but critics say this game isn't very well done, so...
Well, back then I never complained and tried over and over.
When I was a kid, I thought the villain was extending his vacuum to succ spidey's peepee.
One of my favourite games as a kid
Thanks for playing all game. I don't have knowledge to win all bosses
Thanks, I finally saw the end of the game. Rarely I made it to Doc Oc and I think once to Venom. You made it look easy :D
Rare did an amazing job with this game

I remember the birds in the sky level and the tentacle boss was definitely the one that always owned me off.
Hah, i know those are haard but i quit this game all because of boredom
Your right..I'm not completed this game too..my achievement stuck in dr.octopus..after that game over.
Is it because of the controls

Thanks for the Doc Ock strategy, I couldn't work out how to hit him without taking damage
Just need to work out the distance now
Elements of Robocop, Kung-fu Master, and Crazy Climber.
I remember playing this whole week T_T ahh i miss it so much
That was the first game I played on the GameBoy even before Tetris. Now I‘m playing Spider-Man 2 on PS5 😂
Oh lord, what did they do to you Spider-Man?! It looks like he’s running around in boxer shorts!
so nice, the music brings memories back!!
the boss battle music is so nice!
why are all the birds against you? lol. great speedrun, you dind't lose health once
Man, in this game's universe EVERYONE is against Spidey! Who's that at my window? Spiderman!? Babe, get my baseball bat or gun (set in New York hahaha!) so I can teach him a lesson about being a vigilante!
A Classic!
On the rooftop level, Spidey is on top of a building, but bad guys keep dropping in from… The clouds, airplanes?
Nostalgia. My brother needed my help with Rhino.
I remember making it as far as Doc Oc and dying there. I never got back to this game ever since.
Wow first Spider-Man game I played could remember that goblin fight from anywhere
Epic Soundtracks 😎

I never got past the rooftop stage as a child.
i remember this as a kid i never could beat the 4th level.
+hustler666100 5th level i should say

Watching this was the first time I ever saw a complete walkthrough of this game! xD
Same here... as a kid it was soooo hard, now it looks so easy :-)
Rhino's not holding any phones like the rest of the bosses.
That boss theme. Takes me back.
1990 and gb and look awesome and good.. great game
I never got to finish this game. 5 yr old me was shit at video games LOL
Your channel is actually so cool.
Got this game in the summer of 1991 and played it endlessly.
Never made it past Atom Arms. Hated those rooftop sections.
Just got this game
This reminds me a lot of Battletoads on the GameBoy
I beat this game many times...for me a classic for GB
Mysterio gives Spidey the finger 2:12
Just a few thoughts:

- Last level = very large sewers! You can't hang on your webs in the underground, but here?
- Last but not least: why am I asking myself so many questions?
And why do squares explode out of the enemies when you defeat them, instead of stars or something that makes sense?
Thumb up for hitting m.j. in her face in the end xD
Game over as an ending, huh ?
That was pretty common for games during that era, especially arcade titles.
This was the very first Spider-Man game I played as a kid
Dude, that intro is banging!!!
Made it to the sewer once. Was pissed because GamePro magazine showed screenshots and the player had 20+ lives. Something i would have loved to have known how but, you know, no internet.
Wow you made this look easy! Great playthrough! I was never able to beat the last boss..
Could never beat Venom, you made it look so easy 😅
I had this as a kid, I played it til I finally beat it. I never did play the second or third ones for GB.
i never made it to the jungle / forest level as a kid. but this looks so easy haha
I almost made it to the last level, but this game was hella frustrating.
Nothing funnier than the boss music with Doc Ock an his pitiful tickle tentacles 🤣
damn i could never get past rhino playing this as a kid 😂
Thinking to buy it but it’s to short but I’ll do it for Stan
Krasses Game hab ich geliebt
That city really seems to hate spider man everyones after him
I used to always die on rooftops!
Same. Especially the second one. As a kid I used up most of my lives there. I made it to the sewers but couldn't beat it, until I used the Game Genie 😂
This takes me back
The amazing not-so-agile slightly hunched man
But you really need some nicer friends, Peter --> Game Over....
david wise is a genius composer
Cool spider man game
Nyc... people swinging with baseball bats at innocent wallcrawlers 😳
When ljn didnt mess things up. This and Wrestling. Very good both.
