While a I dont really like this walking because it looks weird I totally prefer it over that stupid Capcom stance where he is always crouched and walks like a spider. In comics he walks normal he crouches when he is on some roof watching or when he takes some impulse to jump
Damn people are ripping this game apart, this is one of my favorite arcade games . There should of been a port of this to Sega or SNES. This game is fun , especially in the arcade playing multiplayer. I like that it switches from a beat em up to an action platformer. This is a gem, I actually like it better than the original X MEN arcade. .

The sad thing is that alot of games with the same system are now being re-released as a package with others because there is no challenge beyond continuing. Alien vs Predator is the epitome of the quarter eater era, it still requires a bunch of quarters but damn it was so fun with just a single game.
Also surprises me how many animations and mechanics at least look to have been reused for the Maximum Carnage game that came out years later. Some of the walking and throwing animations as well as some character models. Heck, even Spidey's stance only straightened out a little.
Spider-Man's animations in this game have such a 'I'm so DONE with this shit' vibe to them. Like he's super-pissed off that his brother Ben Reilly just died and all of these villains just act like they can go back to the old times.
In fact this game have some issues that don't fit in these kind of games, that switch between beat em' up and 2d arcade was really revolutionary and fun to play. Thanks for sharing this. I really love this game.

These foot solders in this game looks like the putties from Power rangers but made of goo and colorful and the sound effects sound like the ones you have on Microsoft power point
I always questioned the player choices in this game. Spidey, of course, Black Cat, makes sense. But Hawkeye, an Avenger, when we could have had, say, Daredevil? Well, Hawkeye's capabilities make him reasonable from a gameplay standpoint.... But then there's Namor, aquatic Namor, who flies and has class 100 strength, not to mention is old friends with Doom, Namor, what are you doing here, man?

They had this arcade machine at the local Pizza Hut back in the mid 90’s and I dropped tons and tons of quarters on it to play this game. Wished they’d put this one on console it was fun!

The only real problem with this game is that is a _shameless_ quarter mucher, but that could easily be fixed for a home port!
90’s Spider-man games had some great soundtracks.
This, Maximum Carnage, Spider-Man and the X-Men(look up the Gambit theme especially).
Nothing compares to the Capcom games (X-Men Mutant Apocalypse has a kickass metal soundtrack that transcends time).
That'd be X-Men 2, still got both for Sega Genesis.

My favorite part about this play through is it feels comic-accurate...hoards of mooks but nothing touches our heroes

Yeah. Namor can go toe-to-toe with heavyweights like Hulk, Thor and the Thing. He'd curbstomp the vast majority of Spidey's rogues gallery.
