- Time to head down into the deep dark dungeon using a fine fantasy battle miniature ruleset. It's the "Gold and Darkness" add on for "Blades and Heroes" and we're putting a new spin on the dungeon.

"Eyes of the Spider God, watch over me, guide my hand and aid me as I poison darkness and shadow in your immortal name!" It must have been 1984 when I last "assassined" in a dungeon.
Way late to this party, but after the 'sketchy start' the thought occurred to me that perhaps the dead ends (and/or even the corridors) could be searched for secret doors that lead to a new card/tile without having to necessarily 'connect them.'
OK, 7 minutes in, time to keep watching!
What a coincidence! About an hour before watching, I was speaking to my daughter, who is studying games design and is designing familiars (the word you were looking for) I even sent links to some of the miniatures you featured. I will direct her to your channel as I'm sure she'll gain invaluable inspiration from your methods. Hope that's ok.

Lol. I loved that awkward start with random terrain rolls. Felt so much like Old School. Absolute fun. That elf archer sure looks mighty handsome though! I definitely hope that this particular troupe of heroes becomes part of a campaign or a series, a la the Blackraven crew. Any chance of that? Also, how about this for mushroom men ... when they are struck down how about rolling for a chance that they could create a toxic cloud of spores as they die?
Hallunicogenic spores are big fun - save versus random actions makes for some fun playing.
@@TheJoyofWargaming That would be a lot of fun! The hallucinogenic spore cloud wouldn’t affect the other mushrooms, I would imagine. But it would affect friend and foe alike for a certain distance around.

The heroes are from Alternative Armies and Splintered Light. The villains are a mix of the same plus some Reaper Bones figs.

Have you seen the small cave imps from CP Models cpmodels.co.uk/ - I think they work well as summoned creatures though they are small in stature.
If you ever see a copy of Sorcerers Cave cheap (it's old / rare and costly) then grab it - best dungeon generator I've ever used and I regret getting rid of it many years ago! It's also a neat game - that being it's primary job.
As for the ending - I would assume they surrender and either escorted out by some of the group or dragged along. If the latter I would rule they need guarding but could escape if the explorers have to take a moral test making things worse.
Those imps remind me of the creepy dwarf natives in Diablo ][...the fetish guys that chitter and jibber. They'd be a nice creepy addition. I'm running out of space in my one box and you're not helping me maintain my budget here, pal.

@@andrewbeasley thank goodness for Alternative Armies and Irregular Miniatures. Otherwise not a great development. I suppose we should be grateful we're gamers not the poor fishermen.

Ordered some of their sci fi today. It's a good range. I had to have the Orc Dreadnought. First effort at a vehicle for VP. Just need to come up with a scenario. Thanks for the pointer.
