      @Neil Siebenthal Yes, although community made videos are amazing, videos by the Company owner are better! It shows that he knows that there can be issues with the printer and he wants to help that person get those problems fixed.

      @Walter Ang Gaming True, but for starters I won't recommend that. Printers like Enders or just printers with a lower price than the mini in general need some modifications before producing quality prints. Which of course is fine if you have some experiënce with 3D-printing, but is not recommended for beginners.

    • @neophyl
      @neophyl 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Geoff Butcher you don’t need it in the firmware, you can just make it do it on any printer by adjusting the start gcode. Mines set to do that all the time. Some of us also pre heat the bed and nozzle to make the PINDA sensor the same each time too as it’s sensitivity is temperature dependent before it starts the mesh bed levelling.

    Helpful video. You mentioned the calibration routine prints a small square so you can verify everything is good. However, you don't say what you are looking for when you examine this square. What are the criteria for deciding the small calibration square is "good?" For example, are the extrusion passes supposed to be stuck together so the square is a 2D sheet? What would you see on this square that would indicate "not good?"

    what about nylon and nylon X? can it print it? can you create settings to make this a no-brainer? Is Prusia going to make its own chopped carbon fiber-filled nylon or PetG? that would be awesome!!! I've been on the fence between the original Prusia mark3 vs. Matterhackers Pulse XE, but now with the mini, I would prefer that printer if it can print the nylon and NylonX. just need the all-metal hotend upgrade and I think the mini should be able to handle it...thoughts?

  • @WrexShepard
    @WrexShepard 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    One of my worries is how sharply that bowden tube bends when it's at it's farthest right travel. I realize you could just make the tube longer to alleviate that, but I like to use linear advance and as such try to keep my bowden tubes as short as humanly possible. My worry is PLA snapping in it from the sharp turn. I know prusament will never do this, but I've used cheaper filaments and found that they can have brittle spots in them, or even older filament does. Also that sharp turn might create inconsistant extrusion on the far right side from the increased friction.
    I guess the answer to that would be, don't buy crappy filament, buy prusament! :) It's probably fine.

    • @SergiuszRoszczyk

      There will be both damages and quallity differences. The heated bed is covered with a coating that protects the copper traces (that do the actual heating). Scratching this coating off could cause a short on the heatbed PCB.
      The filament will also have very poor adhesion to the heated bed itself, the removable steel sheets are coated with a special polymer because of this reason. So do not do that ;) -Mikolas

    Got my Mini yesterday, had some good prints so far, can I just ask. The recommended temp on the PLA spool says 215, but the default temp of my printer sits at 170, after watching this video it seems its 170 first layer and then automatically ramps to 210, is this correct?
    I haven’t noticed mine auto adjust because I’ve been manually switching to 215 just before the print starts.

      Yes, that's correct. It goes to a lower temp first for mesh bed leveling to minimize filament leaking from the nozzle. Then it automatically goes to the higher temperature for printing. -Mikolas

    I have a problem, I'm the first layer and there was everything perfectly fine when I put the print so everything goes fine from the beginning but as soon as it starts to print supports or corners so the first layer doesn't even stick to the pad and the printing is with nothing I have to repeat everything again
