I got the hollow shaft nut drivers few months ago when they came out. Do not put them on your impact. The magnets are too small and brittle. They shattered on the 1/4, 5/16 and 9/16 bits within weeks. Really disappointed so i went and bought the full nut drivers. Been screwing teck and tapcons no problem ever since. Really the only good application for the hollow shaft is the 9/16 bit for putting nuts on rods. It should be offered individually. The ratchet screw driver handle is really nice though.
Really great list, I'm building up my fist set of quality tools, for my maintenance and repair bags, so I'd love to see more lists of tools that have had better updates or even, favorite tools of the year! (I am in HVAC, so I'll make my adjustments, but all the same). Thanks!!
I like the Klein 9-in-1 pass-through nut driver model 32809MAG you are describing that has 1/4", 3/16", 5/16", 11/32", 3/8", 7/16",1/2", 9/16" and 3/4" nut drivers.
Make an even better version of that nutsetter. There are two different modbox options with a socket set that works the exact same way. The newer one is $39 and includes a screwdriver handle that works with it as well
my 2 Klein regrets are the 14-in-1 precision screwdriver (lost a bit the first day and cannot find replacement bits, other Kleins have the same issue)) and the 14-in-1 Multi-Bit Adjustable Length Screwdriver (the bit holder in the handle comes loose and bits fall into the handle)
You very well may know this, but those water pump pliers are manufactured by NWS. I have often found them to be more affordable when not rebranded as Klein. The ones you had in the video were part of NWS's MX line, and the ones you linked to are from the QuattroGripp line.
Thanks for the heads up! I am aware of the rebrand but I actually couldn’t find the version I have on Kleins website & the part number is the same as their rebranded Quattrogrip version. Not sure exactly how it happened but the style of plier is the main focus on it. I’m not super familiar with NWS different lines so thanks for the clarity on that!
@americanelectrician, I'm not sure why they decided to make the change. Personally, I prefer the MX line. The other ones are just as good, from what I understand. I've used them, but I've never owned a pair. I don't like having the ability to adjust them smaller without pressing the button-you have to press the button to open them wider, but you can always push them closed without pressing the button, as long as nothing's in the way. Maybe Klein wanted to have a product that's just a bit more different from Cobras. A lot of people love that design, so maybe they just preferred it.
I use the knipex cobra, it holds on nuts inside tight spaces inside electrical boxes and as for screwdriver, I prefer the picquic, the bits of which I can also use with the drill or impact driver, fast and convenient,
Klein 32315HD is the same as that 13-1 except it holds one more bit in the carousel making it 15-1. The bit it comes with is C1/C2 but if you don’t need that you can swap it out for your own bit of choice.
Everything in my opinion I get knipex pliers except the lineman I prefer klein hands down had both, they practically cut the exact same but my knipex got trasned after a month because they couldn't handle abuse anywhere near the kleins
Kobalt just released their version of the water pump pliers and the pliers wrench. Can't vouch for the durability, but the price is right. 15 bucks for the pair of 5-in tools
You know klein has a 15 in one with thoes double sided bits with combination too. They sell thay model at hd not lowes but it's a thicker handle slightly and you'll know it because the bits are all black .
Know a few peeps @ klein, theyre focused on finances over everything. ive been less than impressed by plier stiffness and hardness, not to mention half of their lineup are china rebrands now...
The nut setter should have been hollow shaft in the first place. It's a NUT setter. Nuts go on Bolts. Bolts have long shanks. Why would a nut setter only get you started for 10 threads or so? The improved version is what they should have been in the beginning.
To be fair they’re all called this but they’re just used as nut drivers. I’ve been using a version like the first for a couple years now and i loved them. They’re for any type of fastener with a hex head
I used to be a big klein tools fan, but i havent bought anything of theres in maybe the past 10 years. Their tools are sub par now days and very overpriced for what they are. As an electrician for the past 2 and half decades my tool bag used to be filled with exclusively klien tools. Now i have maybe 1 or 2 tools in it that are from when i first entered the trade.
I was actually so mad when I got the first set of nut drivers. I was trying to order the hollow shafted power nut setters & was so so disappointed when they came in😂
All of these are just knockoffs of what Knipex, Wera and Wiha already have... used several of these and they just feel low quality compared to what they copied.
I picked up a husky 37 in 1 when i first started, to this day its still my favorite tool!

Glad I found your content channel I have just started to build a Klein toolbox of tools.

I’ll have to pick one up! Thanks for the heads up🙏🏼
fantastic counter
Hey man I know this is not related with the video. But have your wera tools ever rusted? i've seen a few reviews where they have. Thanks
I haven’t had this happen to me even with some extras I’ve had in my basement that’s pretty wet
For pliers is not Knipex a better option anytime? Eastern Europe here and a Cobra here is like 27 USD

You need to look at the new Klein Plier Wrench, 10-Inch
D53010
The other version of the Klein insulated tools are way better !! I have a whole bag you should try them out

Are you union? Love your content btw

I think they’ve really pushed for innovation the last couple years and I do like a lot of their new stuff. It’s definitely worth a shot now!
Another fantastic video
I appreciate it brother🙏🏼
I went through 3 of them. They fall apart easily. Plastic is not made for abuse.
Killian!? lol I thought your name was Spencer
Thanks
For video
I appreciate it!🙌🏼
Didn’t sound like you regretted it to me 😂
I was actually so mad when I got the first set of nut drivers. I was trying to order the hollow shafted power nut setters & was so so disappointed when they came in😂
@ 😂😂😂 I woulda been mad too!
Klein driver handles have been absolute trash the past 5 years. Never buying another one
Yea I've had an issue with the grip slipping off, or having play.
Omg expert at forgetting to plug in the lift 🤣🤣🤣
Inspired by a true story😂
