Good video showing the overall job, but some details I wish I'd known: My diff bearings were also gone but I only changed the 2 input shaft ones, I would recommend a full set of bearings if you are going through the effort to open the box To easily remove the snap ring from bearing allowing you to remove gearbox case 0:47 separate the case partially before attempting to open the ring onto bearing edge To remove gear assembly 2:35 you might need some assistance from a friend, I held the box sideways and lightly tapped the main shaft with a rubber mallet while wiggling the 3 selector rods and overall assembly it eventually came out My input shaft bearing was completely worn the inside ring and bearings fell out leaving only the outer ring, I used grease to hold the balls to the edge put them in reinserted the centre ring then spread them evenly and hit it from the other side removing the bearing intact Before reassembly the gears must be in neutral to re insert the shifter properly I struggled for a long time before giving in and taking it apart again, cleaning all sealant ect it is a long process to do twice. Also the taper cone 8:09 part number 23647-PLW-000 will prevent the case from going back on if not properly allinged, forcing it will break Good luck out there people it's doable at home but this video makes it look easy.
Thanks for sharing that buddy its a really good video with some great shots of the steps required. I've got a Mk7 civic which has got the same box to do imminently and your video has answered a lot of my questions. Brilliant.
Curious if the opposite side bearing (thrust bearing) Normal to have up and down play? Right side to side. Coming out of a trans with only 39k miles and no issue. Just installing a LSD and changing the input shaft bearing and seal just because. I figure I want to change the seal so I don’t mind. I’m trying not to split this open again for a long long while if at all possible so I’m changing all bearings and seals while I’m in there but I forgot to order just that thrust bearing. it appears perfect if that angular play is normal anyway. I just don’t want to order a brand new one and it’s exactly the same play. Bearing actually looks to be designed to have that play. If I had 75k+ I wouldn’t mind just doing it but I don’t want to for nothing.
Hii sir greetings. In my front wheel drive car, when I release the clutch in 1st gear, there is a jerking noise, and then the car moves. The same problem occurs when changing gears, including reverse gear. All engine mounts, wheel bearings, clutch kit, flywheel, and both main shaft bearings have been replaced, but the problem persists. Please help me with this issue.
@@mbl-randomdiy6024 i feel you my bro I been super nervous what concern me the most is taking the ring 💍off the one you supposed to remove before taking the housing Can you kind of guide me bro ? If you can the one on the video is at 0.59 seconds
@benitocamelaz3855 you may find the bearing doesn't drop. In that case break the seal on the case it will only seperate a couple of mm. Open snap ring and pry up on case and that will release it.
Absolute gent for doing this video. Done my own today 👏 👏 👏

To easily remove the snap ring from bearing allowing you to remove gearbox case 0:47 separate the case partially before attempting to open the ring onto bearing edge
To remove gear assembly 2:35 you might need some assistance from a friend, I held the box sideways and lightly tapped the main shaft with a rubber mallet while wiggling the 3 selector rods and overall assembly it eventually came out
My input shaft bearing was completely worn the inside ring and bearings fell out leaving only the outer ring, I used grease to hold the balls to the edge put them in reinserted the centre ring then spread them evenly and hit it from the other side removing the bearing intact

BRO I DID IT -- holy crap! Thx!

Great video. Whats the music thats playing im really digging it.
nice work
Well done, good job
Do you have part numbers for the all the bearings and seals? And torque specs?
Be took fucken easy wouldn’t it. I’m still trying to find the input shaft bearing part# for 1.3 I think it’s 91002-PHR-003
is that an example of synchromesh gear box?
Hello do you have parts number of the bearings and oil seal thank you

Hi
Damn bro you are making look super easy my Rsx type s is making the same noise you think I can fix it ??
Keep everything in order, do it slow and easy. This is may 4th time to replace, 1st time was an adrenaline pumper as well. 😅
