Rogers is to blame. They hired former Cleveland Indians management who never won a thing. They also tried to distract fans by focusing on off field activity (like the renovation) instead of the on field players. Rogers, no doubt, made it seem like the Jays were going to get Ohtani knowing full well he was never going to sign here. He signed for $700 million. Even it it was $500 million, why hasn't Rogers taken that money and made significant trades? The failure starts with Rogers.... like everything they get involved with.

I am interested in the Blue Jays organisation being focussed on baseball, not "Pride" & ethnic heritage months.

What kind of dirt does Adkins have on Shapiro & Rogers to have this much job security

Atkins needs to go! Before he guts the only good players we have! In an offseason packed with stars he picks up 39 year old JT and 40 year old Joey Votto!

When the number 1 prospect in your whole organization is a catcher , you keep him .Catcher is the most under-rated position in all of baseball . They have pitched 1 complete game in 7 years , that game was Bassitt, who just happens to call his own game . Their catchers that they have now can't call a game , throw way too many pitches .

You have to get rid of Atkins first and foremost. You want him in charge of trades if they go that route. When I saw the lack of action in the off season I knew, but Shapiro (not Shapiero) is the main culprit.

Fans are at fault. Unsophisticated Jays fans (vast majority never playing high school, let alone college ball) just politely cheer win or lose. Many also are migrants with no appreciation of the game. Atkins has known this ... which is why he's done the minimum. Just takes whoever is available.
Try that in NYC and the media/fans would eat him up in a season! In Toronto few care ... they'll let him skate for a decade...

Worst management in Jays history. Terrible farm system and horrible major league team. Shapiro and Atkins got to go!

Interesting how I've watched video posts here dealing with the Flames, Ottawa, and Montreal's failure to make the NHL playoffs and Toronto and Winnipeg's failures in the NHL playoffs as well as Vancouver's initial success and subsequent to the Oilers but, other than their series with Vancouver, where the Oilers are concerned, crickets. Must be the team name "Oilers" offends the political correctness sensibilities of all those Torontonians and Lauurentian elitists back there in Canada's swamp.

ROGERS! Who the hell had the audacity to fire Alex when he legit took this team the furthest since their World Series wins for two bums out of Cleveland. Atkins should NEVER be a manger again in the league. He’s absolutely horrendous

How can you trade away a young all star catcher for a outfielder averaging around .200
Very poor decisions with the roster, not sure if they even have a plan…🤔

What about Don Mattingly? He's been the offensive coordinator for the last 3 years. Why does he get a pass?

    • @Darthyen
      @Darthyen 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

He gets a pass because he is Ross Atkins relay guy. Atkins tells him what he wants done and to make sure Schneider does what he is told.

The competitive window is OVER. It's time to do a near-total teardown. Keep Varsho, Jansen (extend), Manoah, Davis Schneider, Rodriguez, Berrios, and our high end prospects. EVERY other player should be made available for trades. John Schneider and our Guillermo Martinez need to be replaced. Start getting rid of players soon, and bring up players like Spencer Horwitz, Barger, and Orelvis to start acclimatizing to the majors at a time where the team's success is largely irrelevant, thereby reducing pressure on them out of the gates.

There is no doubt that the fault lies with Shapiro and Atkins! Their failure to improve the team over the last couple of years has caused this downfall. They need to go NOW - find people who know how to make deals instead of sitting on their butts doing nothing- I mean how exactly are they earning their salary doing nothing - wish I had their jobs!

Since Tradin' Gurielle/Moreno for Varsho, I've been "pissed off". Then, recall how The Jays were embarrassingly swept in Playoffs. Ever since, have prayed for Firing 'Algorithm' Adkins, along with enabler, Shapiro. Trade what's marketable, and rebuild under a bona fide Winner. My wish, someone who more believes in 'small' Ball; less on the 'longball'; someone who'll spend the money Team apparently has, given Offer to Ohtani; given its lucrative, nationwide Fanbase, and massive revenue; and, given the attitude problem, beside which I honestly don't think Vladdy and Bichette are truly committed anymore. Jays World Series years were obviously because of Godfrey, Beeston, and Gillick. Awesome Rosters; very expensive ones. Jays spent money - lots of it - on proper "Fits" for Team; on The Farm System; et al. Besides their orchestrating Two WS Rings, they also recorded MLB attendance records, like bein' first Team to surpass 4-million thru the Turnstiles. We were then quite spoiled.

The biggest and best move they could do is to use Kirk more behind the plate and Jansen a lot less. Looking at Romano , he has a clean slate with Kirk behind the plate however with Jansen he has given up a run+ in every outing except one (where a highlight defensive play saved him from giving up one). You can look at each pitcher and see the difference there is with Kirk catching vs. Jansen. I am not saying sit Jansen but maybe use him less at catcher and give him at bats from the DH/bat of the bench role.
Side note for all the rave about Jansen's hitting, he is not as productive as most would think.Iif you were to ask most they would say Jansen is hitting way better than Kirk but the reality is they both have the same amount of RBIs, 13, and Jansen has been hitting in better RBI spots in the order. Its not that Jansen is bad or anything its they are way over rating him and using him wrong.
