- The next pitch comes from yoga instructor Thierry Giunta, he's looking for investment for his new way of doing yoga' with a step for better balance and precision - the “BeamBlock”. Thierry wants to follow a business model of selling the blocks to gyms with a licence fee for Beamblock classes, but Sarah has a different strategy up her sleeve.
An international sensation, Dragon's Den features entrepreneurs pitching for investment in the Den from our Dragons, five venture capitalists willing to invest their own money in exchange for equity.

I hear you. I work with video professionally, and a lot of my time is dedicated to making the sound properly go up / down and match the content. Music that is too low or (worse) too high is incredibly annoying. Sometimes I really don't get what the editors are doing when they make shows like this.

Unfortunately, after Peter invested, they completely ghosted him, and eventually when they got h9ld of him for a meeting, Peter said the business is worth nothing and that he owed him 50k. The guy then went into depression and drugs.

Also he showed that doing a pistol squat on the floor was actually way safer for the average person that would be in a gym who is there to learn. Most people are ok with being able to cheat a bit because they are not professionals like the instructors.

I'm a yoga teacher, and I can't see any benefit to this at all! Being harder to correct your pose isn't a good thing, and this is just going to lead to a lot of ankle injuries from people putting their foot wrong or falling off

🤓I actually agree with Touker. For a gym to lay out that amount of money doesn’t make sense. Siting here in lockdown, I’d love one of these at home and maybe an online subscription to do classes monthly.
The company dissolved in 31/12/2019. I cant see anything on companies house about Peter and Touker becoming co directors so I can only assume the deal did not go through.
According to www.tigermobiles.com/dragons-den/ the deal did go through but the company was indeed dissolved as you say.

26 Jul 2017 Change of details for Mr Thierry Giunta: he's back owning 75% or more.
26 Jul 2017 Confirmation statement: although Peter and Touker were shareholders during the period of review, they now possess zero shares.
So they were never directors, simply shareholders, albeit for a relatively short period of time.
There's a video out there outlining this exact business failure.

His company is dissolved and has a net worth of about -£112.000. I feel kind of bad for him because he spent so much and risked so much but honestly, the idea was just silly. It was just another fitness gadget that promised to be something completely different.
This is just some plastic with colours on it. It never had any chance to succeed
This was touching, and I think it was so nice of Peter, Sahara, and Tuka to help this man. My apology for the misspelling of the names. I did get the strong feeling they wanted truly and sincerely help, that's what touched me.

There are around 5000 licensed forms of modern postural yoga in USA alone, so would not be surprised if it already exist.

Well in his defence he just became a little emotional when it was about his proces and Peter deliberately asked about it because he saw that and this is actually useful information for an investor as he is also investing in a person and knowing how a person handled difficult situations and came out of it can tell a lot about a person's character

Irish Dragon's Den is much better. It focuses on the product and ideas, has no distracting, irritating music, and they don't drown out technical disagreements (that you can learn something from) with trite commentary, loud music and exaggerated facial expressions. And there's none of that dumbed down 'pun a minute' stuff. I prefer the dead pan Irish humour. That makes me laugh. They do it without breaking a sweat :-)

Turns out he did not do well. the company was dissolved a couple of years ago without leaving any mark at all on the market. According to some comments here because the guy fell back into a major depression but I can't personally vouch for that piece of information.
Before you becoming yoga instructor understand the fundamental of yoga. Yoga is not to build muscles it is to balance relationship between the earth and body. In simple world practice yoga without using any kind of comforts. Keep your legs grounded because your body need to dicharge energy while doing yoga.

Awful, yoga is to be practiced on the ground, it’s part of the grounding. Yoga has no need for fancy expensive plastic gadgets.
There are other styles that come out of something. With your logic, there's no need for zumba or zumba step, people can just do latin dance classes or aerobic. The world doesn't work that way :)

He has made a great choice. I can see this in every home. Can educate people with his IG, FB, etc, and when you provide valuable content to people that can be experienced at their own home, they will buy it. Just gyms is a bad idea. He can also create his own course and sell it together with the product.

Diamond Dallas Page. An ex-pro wrestler who started his own yoga system in early 2000's. He developed it and used it to help other ex-wrestlers who have had drug and alcohol problems. He pretty much saved the lives of two wrestlers, Scott Hall and Jake Roberts. Man's a legend.
No it's much easier than a proper one arm push up but a lot lot harder than squats.
@@stonecold6521 It was him that helped that paratrooper too right? He pretty screwed from all the jumps and became overweight and had difficulties walking. DDP helped him out and put him onto a routine that helped him regain his strength and geniunely lost all the weight. He could also walk and even run when he was told by doctors how unlikely that was. Honestly props to that guy and to DDP.

The answer to Deborah's question is 6 memberships. The average gym membership in the UK is £500 annually. An initial cost of £2000 for 50 units plus £1200 for licensing is £3200. In the second year it'd only be licencing, meaning they only need three memberships to cover the cost. He should have known that.

After watching the revelation behind this pitch I have to say the one dragon Thierry really needed wasn't in the den on the day ! Had the ice cream entrepreneur been present things may have worked out different , especially had Sarah been involved . Good luck to Thierry on his future path 👍

I've just seen a follow up video with this guy. He said that, after he received the money everything collapsed because the dragons did not help him. They did not set up meetings or anything. Before too long he was summoned to a meeting with the dragon investors and told that the business was not worth anything after all and that eh should give it up. Plus he told that he had to repay the money which he was obviously unable to do. He turned to drugs and nearly died over all of this.
OMG this guy is a sweetheart and I'm glad they had an open marketing strategy as this is probably pre covid and the gym idea wouldn't really be viable right now. ❤ lovely heart warming episode
